Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob,(KJV) Malachi 1:2 I haue loued you, sayth the Lorde: yet yee say, Wherein hast thou loued vs? Was not Esau Iaakobs brother, saith the Lord? yet I loued Iaakob,(Geneva) Malachie 1:2 Je vous ai aimés, dit l'Eternel. Et vous dites: En quoi nous as-tu aimés? Esaü n'est-il pas frère de Jacob? dit l'Eternel. Cependant j'ai aimé Jacob,(FR) 2 ׃1 אָהַ֤בְתִּי אֶתְכֶם֙ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֖ם בַּמָּ֣ה אֲהַבְתָּ֑נוּ הֲלוֹא־אָ֨ח עֵשָׂ֤ו לְיַֽעֲקֹב֙ נְאֻם־יְהוָ֔ה וָאֹהַ֖ב אֶֽת־יַעֲקֹֽב׃ Malachi Mal 1:2 "I have loved you," says the Lord. But you say, "How have You loved us?" "Was not Esau Jacob's brother?" declares the Lord." Yet I have loved Jacob;(nasb) ======= Malachi 1:3 ============ Mal 1:3 And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.(KJV) Malachi 1:3 And I hated Esau, and made his mountaines wast, & his heritage a wildernes for dragons.(Geneva) Malachie 1:3 Et j'ai eu de la haine pour Esaü, J'ai fait de ses montagnes une solitude, J'ai livré son héritage aux chacals du désert.(FR) 3 ׃1 וְאֶת־עֵשָׂ֖ו שָׂנֵ֑אתִי וָאָשִׂ֤ים אֶת־הָרָיו֙ שְׁמָמָ֔ה וְאֶת־נַחֲלָת֖וֹ לְתַנּ֥וֹת מִדְבָּֽר׃ Malachi Mal 1:3 but I have hated Esau, and I have made his mountains a desolation and appointed his inheritance for the jackals of the wilderness."(nasb) ======= Malachi 1:4 ============ Mal 1:4 Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD hath indignation for ever.(KJV) Malachi 1:4 Though Edom say, wee are impouerished, but we will returne and build the desolate places, yet sayeth the Lorde of hostes, they shall builde, but I will destroy it, and they shall call them, The border of wickednes, and the people, with whome the Lord is angrie for euer.(Geneva) Malachie 1:4 Si Edom dit: Nous sommes détruits, Nous relèverons les ruines! Ainsi parle l'Eternel des armées: Qu'ils bâtissent, je renverserai, Et on les appellera pays de la méchanceté, Peuple contre lequel l'Eternel est irrité pour toujours.(FR) 4 ׃1 כִּֽי־תֹאמַ֨ר אֱד֜וֹם רֻשַּׁ֗שְׁנוּ וְנָשׁוּב֙ וְנִבְנֶ֣ה חֳרָב֔וֹת כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת הֵ֥מָּה יִבְנ֖וּ וַאֲנִ֣י אֶהֱר֑וֹס וְקָרְא֤וּ לָהֶם֙ גְּב֣וּל רִשְׁעָ֔ה וְהָעָ֛ם אֲשֶׁר־זָעַ֥ם יְהוָ֖ה עַד־עוֹלָֽם׃ Malachi Mal 1:4 Though Edom says, "We have been beaten down, but we will return and build up the ruins"; thus says the Lord of hosts, "They may build, but I will tear down; and men will call them the wicked territory, and the people toward whom the Lord is indignant forever."(nasb) ======= Malachi 1:5 ============ Mal 1:5 And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The LORD will be magnified from the border of Israel.(KJV) Malachi 1:5 And your eyes shall see it, and yee shall say, The Lorde will be magnified vpon the border of Israel.(Geneva) Malachie 1:5 Vos yeux le verront, Et vous direz: Grand est l'Eternel Par delà les frontières d'Israël!(FR) 5 ׃1 וְעֵינֵיכֶ֖ם תִּרְאֶ֑ינָה וְאַתֶּ֤ם תֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ יִגְדַּ֣ל יְהוָ֔ה מֵעַ֖ל לִגְב֥וּל יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Malachi Mal 1:5 Your eyes will see this and you will say, "The Lord be magnified beyond the border of Israel!" (nasb) ======= Malachi 1:6 ============ Mal 1:6 A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?(KJV) Malachi 1:6 A sonne honoureth his father, and a seruant his master. If then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my feare, sayth the Lorde of hostes vnto you, O Priestes, that despise my Name? and yee say, Wherein haue we despised thy Name?(Geneva) Malachie 1:6 Un fils honore son père, et un serviteur son maître. Si je suis père, où est l'honneur qui m'est dû? Si je suis maître, où est la crainte qu'on a de moi? Dit l'Eternel des armées à vous, sacrificateurs, Qui méprisez mon nom, Et qui dites: En quoi avons-nous méprisé ton nom?(FR) 6 ׃1 בֵּ֛ן יְכַבֵּ֥ד אָ֖ב וְעֶ֣בֶד אֲדֹנָ֑יו וְאִם־אָ֣ב אָ֣נִי אַיֵּ֣ה כְבוֹדִ֡י וְאִם־אֲדוֹנִ֣ים אָנִי֩ אַיֵּ֨ה מוֹרָאִ֜י אָמַ֣ר ׀ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֗וֹת לָכֶם֙ הַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ בּוֹזֵ֣י שְׁמִ֔י וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֕ם בַּמֶּ֥ה בָזִ֖ינוּ אֶת־שְׁמֶֽךָ׃ Malachi Mal 1:6 "'A son honors his father, and a servant his master. Then if I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My respect?' says the Lord of hosts to you, O priests who despise My name. But you say, 'How have we despised Your name?'(nasb) ======= Malachi 1:7 ============ Mal 1:7 Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD is contemptible.(KJV) Malachi 1:7 Ye offer vncleane bread vpon mine altar, and you say, Wherein haue we polluted thee? In that ye say the table of the Lord is not to be regarded.(Geneva) Malachie 1:7 Vous offrez sur mon autel des aliments impurs, Et vous dites: En quoi t'avons-nous profané? C'est en disant: La table de l'Eternel est méprisable!(FR) 7 ׃1 מַגִּישִׁ֤ים עַֽל־מִזְבְּחִי֙ לֶ֣חֶם מְגֹאָ֔ל וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֖ם בַּמֶּ֣ה גֵֽאַלְנ֑וּךָ בֶּאֱמָרְכֶ֕ם שֻׁלְחַ֥ן יְהוָ֖ה נִבְזֶ֥ה הֽוּא׃ Malachi Mal 1:7 You are presenting defiled food upon My altar. But you say, 'How have we defiled You?' In that you say, 'The table of the Lord is to be despised.'(nasb) ======= Malachi 1:8 ============ Mal 1:8 And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts.(KJV) Malachi 1:8 And if yee offer the blinde for sacrifice, it is not euill: and if ye offer the lame and sicke, it is not euill: offer it nowe vnto thy prince: will he be content with thee, or accept thy person, saieth the Lord of hostes?(Geneva) Malachie 1:8 Quand vous offrez en sacrifice une bête aveugle, n'est-ce pas mal? Quand vous en offrez une boiteuse ou infirme, n'est-ce pas mal? Offre-la donc à ton gouverneur! Te recevra-t-il bien, te fera-t-il bon accueil? Dit l'Eternel des armées.(FR) 8 ׃1 וְכִֽי־תַגִּשׁ֨וּן עִוֵּ֤ר לִזְבֹּ֙חַ֙ אֵ֣ין רָ֔ע וְכִ֥י תַגִּ֛ישׁוּ פִּסֵּ֥חַ וְחֹלֶ֖ה אֵ֣ין רָ֑ע הַקְרִיבֵ֨הוּ נָ֜א לְפֶחָתֶ֗ךָ הֲיִּרְצְךָ֙ א֚וֹ הֲיִשָּׂ֣א פָנֶ֔יךָ אָמַ֖ר יְהוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃ Malachi Mal 1:8 But when you present the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? And when you present the lame and sick, is it not evil? Why not offer it to your governor? Would he be pleased with you? Or would he receive you kindly?" says the Lord of hosts.(nasb) ======= Malachi 1:9 ============ Mal 1:9 And now, I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he regard your persons? saith the LORD of hosts.(KJV) Malachi 1:9 And nowe, I pray you, pray before God, that he may haue mercie vpon vs: this hath beene by your meanes: will hee regard your persons, sayth the Lord of hostes?(Geneva) Malachie 1:9 Priez Dieu maintenant, pour qu'il ait pitié de nous! C'est de vous que cela vient: Vous recevra-t-il favorablement? Dit l'Eternel des armées.(FR) 9 ׃1 וְעַתָּ֛ה חַלּוּ־נָ֥א פְנֵי־אֵ֖ל וִֽיחָנֵ֑נוּ מִיֶּדְכֶם֙ הָ֣יְתָה זֹּ֔את הֲיִשָּׂ֤א מִכֶּם֙ פָּנִ֔ים אָמַ֖ר יְהוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃ Malachi Mal 1:9 "But now will you not entreat God's favor, that He may be gracious to us? With such an offering on your part, will He receive any of you kindly?" says the Lord of hosts.(nasb) ======= Malachi 1:10 ============ Mal 1:10 Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.(KJV) Malachi 1:10 Who is there euen among you, that would shut the doores? and kindle not fire on mine altar in vaine, I haue no pleasure in you, sayeth the Lorde of hostes, neither will I accept an offering at your hande.(Geneva) Malachie 1:10 Lequel de vous fermera les portes, Pour que vous n'allumiez pas en vain le feu sur mon autel? Je ne prends aucun plaisir en vous, dit l'Eternel des armées, Et les offrandes de votre main ne me sont point agréables.(FR) 10 ׃1 מִ֤י גַם־בָּכֶם֙ וְיִסְגֹּ֣ר דְּלָתַ֔יִם וְלֹֽא־תָאִ֥ירוּ מִזְבְּחִ֖י חִנָּ֑ם אֵֽין־לִ֨י חֵ֜פֶץ בָּכֶ֗ם אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת וּמִנְחָ֖ה לֹֽא־אֶרְצֶ֥ה מִיֶּדְכֶֽם׃ Malachi Mal 1:10 "Oh that there were one among you who would shut the gates, that you might not uselessly kindle fire on My altar! I am not pleased with you," says the Lord of hosts, "nor will I accept an offering from you.(nasb) ======= Malachi 1:11 ============ Mal 1:11 For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts.(KJV) Malachi 1:11 For from the rising of the sunne vnto the going downe of the same, my Name is great among the Gentiles, and in euery place incense shalbe offred vnto my Name, and a pure offering: for my Name is great among the heathen, sayeth the Lord of hostes.(Geneva) Malachie 1:11 Car depuis le lever du soleil jusqu'à son couchant, Mon nom est grand parmi les nations, Et en tout lieu on brûle de l'encens en l'honneur de mon nom Et l'on présente des offrandes pures; Car grand est mon nom parmi les nations, Dit l'Eternel des armées.(FR) 11 ׃1 כִּ֣י מִמִּזְרַח־שֶׁ֜מֶשׁ וְעַד־מְבוֹא֗וֹ גָּד֤וֹל שְׁמִי֙ בַּגּוֹיִ֔ם וּבְכָל־מָק֗וֹם מֻקְטָ֥ר מֻגָּ֛שׁ לִשְׁמִ֖י וּמִנְחָ֣ה טְהוֹרָ֑ה כִּֽי־גָד֤וֹל שְׁמִי֙ בַּגּוֹיִ֔ם אָמַ֖ר יְהוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃ Malachi Mal 1:11 For from the rising of the sun even to its setting, My name will be great among the nations, and in every place incense is going to be offered to My name, and a grain offering that is pure; for My name will be great among the nations," says the Lord of hosts.(nasb) ======= Malachi 1:12 ============ Mal 1:12 But ye have profaned it, in that ye say, The table of the LORD is polluted; and the fruit thereof, even his meat, is contemptible.(KJV) Malachi 1:12 But ye haue polluted it, in that ye say, The table of the Lord is polluted & the fruit thereof, euen his meat is not to be regarded.(Geneva) Malachie 1:12 Mais vous, vous le profanez, En disant: La table de l'Eternel est souillée, Et ce qu'elle rapporte est un aliment méprisable.(FR) 12 ׃1 וְאַתֶּ֖ם מְחַלְּלִ֣ים אוֹת֑וֹ בֶּאֱמָרְכֶ֗ם שֻׁלְחַ֤ן אֲדֹנָי֙ מְגֹאָ֣ל ה֔וּא וְנִיב֖וֹ נִבְזֶ֥ה אָכְלֽוֹ׃ Malachi Mal 1:12 "But you are profaning it, in that you say, 'The table of the Lord is defiled, and as for its fruit, its food is to be despised.'(nasb) ======= Malachi 1:13 ============ Mal 1:13 Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the LORD of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the LORD.(KJV) Malachi 1:13 Ye said also, Beholde, it is a wearines, and ye haue snuffed at it, sayth the Lord of hostes, and ye offred that which was torne, and the lame and the sicke: thus yee offred an offring: shoulde I accept this of your hand, sayth the Lord?(Geneva) Malachie 1:13 Vous dites: Quelle fatigue! et vous le dédaignez, Dit l'Eternel des armées; Et cependant vous amenez ce qui est dérobé, boiteux ou infirme, Et ce sont les offrandes que vous faites! Puis-je les agréer de vos mains? dit l'Eternel.(FR) 13 ׃1 וַאֲמַרְתֶּם֩ הִנֵּ֨ה מַתְּלָאָ֜ה וְהִפַּחְתֶּ֣ם אוֹת֗וֹ אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת וַהֲבֵאתֶ֣ם גָּז֗וּל וְאֶת־הַפִּסֵּ֙חַ֙ וְאֶת־הַ֣חוֹלֶ֔ה וַהֲבֵאתֶ֖ם אֶת־הַמִּנְחָ֑ה הַאֶרְצֶ֥ה אוֹתָ֛הּ מִיֶּדְכֶ֖ם אָמַ֥ר יְהוָֽה׃ ס Malachi Mal 1:13 You also say, 'My, how tiresome it is!' And you disdainfully sniff at it," says the Lord of hosts, "and you bring what was taken by robbery and what is lame or sick; so you bring the offering! Should I receive that from your hand?" says the Lord.(nasb) ======= Malachi 1:14 ============ Mal 1:14 But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the LORD a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the LORD of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen.(kjv) Malachi 1:14 But cursed be the deceiuer, which hath in his flocke a male, & voweth, and sacrificeth vnto ye Lorde a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, sayth the Lord of hostes, and my Name is terrible among the heathen.(Geneva) Malachie 1:14 Maudit soit le trompeur qui a dans son troupeau un mâle, Et qui voue et sacrifie au Seigneur une bête chétive! Car je suis un grand roi, dit l'Eternel des armées, Et mon nom est redoutable parmi les nations.(FR) 14 ׃1 וְאָר֣וּר נוֹכֵ֗ל וְיֵ֤שׁ בְּעֶדְרוֹ֙ זָכָ֔ר וְנֹדֵ֛ר וְזֹבֵ֥חַ מָשְׁחָ֖ת לַֽאדֹנָ֑י כִּי֩ מֶ֨לֶךְ גָּד֜וֹל אָ֗נִי אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת וּשְׁמִ֖י נוֹרָ֥א בַגּוֹיִֽם׃ Malachi Mal 1:14 "But cursed be the swindler who has a male in his flock and vows it, but sacrifices a blemished animal to the Lord, for I am a great King," says the Lord of hosts, "and My name is feared among the nations."
