And Gilead was the father of Jephthah.(nas) Jdg 11:1 καὶ Ιεφθαε ὁ Γαλααδίτης ἐπηρμένος δυνάμει καὶ αὐτὸς υἱὸς γυναικὸς πόρνης ἣ ἐγέννησεν τῷ Γαλααδ τὸν Ιεφθαε (lxx) Jdg 11:1 Fuit illo tempore Jephte Galaadites vir fortissimus atque pugnator, filius mulieris meretricis, qui natus est de Galaad.(vulgate) 1 ׃11 וְיִפְתָּ֣ח הַגִּלְעָדִ֗י הָיָה֙ גִּבּ֣וֹר חַ֔יִל וְה֖וּא בֶּן־אִשָּׁ֣ה זוֹנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד גִּלְעָ֖ד אֶת־יִפְתָּֽח׃ Judges Jdg 11:1 Jephthah, ein Gileaditer, war ein streibarer Held, aber ein Hurenkind. Gilead aber hatte Jephthah gezeugt.(dhs) Jdg 11:1 Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valor, but he was the son of a harlot; and Gilead begot Jephthah.(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:2 ============ Jdg 11:2 Gilead's wife bore him sons; and when his wife's sons grew up, they drove Jephthah out and said to him, "You shall not have an inheritance in our father's house, for you are the son of another woman."(nas) Jdg 11:2 καὶ ἔτεκεν ἡ γυνὴ Γαλααδ αὐτῷ υἱούς καὶ ἡδρύνθησαν οἱ υἱοὶ τῆς γυναικὸς καὶ ἐξέβαλον τὸν Ιεφθαε καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ οὐ κληρονομήσεις ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ τοῦ πατρὸς ἡμῶν ὅτι υἱὸς γυναικὸς ἑταίρας σύ (lxx) Jdg 11:2 Habuit autem Galaad uxorem, de qua suscepit filios: qui postquam creverant, ejecerunt Jephte, dicentes: Hæres in domo patris nostri esse non poteris, quia de altera matre natus es.(vulgate) 2 ׃11 וַתֵּ֧לֶד אֵֽשֶׁת־גִּלְעָ֛ד ל֖וֹ בָּנִ֑ים וַיִּגְדְּל֨וּ בְֽנֵי־הָאִשָּׁ֜ה וַיְגָרְשׁ֣וּ אֶת־יִפְתָּ֗ח וַיֹּ֤אמְרוּ לוֹ֙ לֹֽא־תִנְחַ֣ל בְּבֵית־אָבִ֔ינוּ כִּ֛י בֶּן־אִשָּׁ֥ה אַחֶ֖רֶת אָֽתָּה׃ Judges Jdg 11:2 Da aber das Weib Gileads ihm Kinder gebar und des Weibes Kinder groß wurden, stießen sie Jephthah aus und sprachen zu ihm: Du sollst nicht erben in unsers Vaters Haus; denn du bist eines andern Weibes Sohn.(dhs) Jdg 11:2 Gilead's wife bore sons; and when his wife's sons grew up, they drove Jephthah out, and said to him, "You shall have no inheritance in our father's house, for you are the son of another woman."(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:3 ============ Jdg 11:3 So Jephthah fled from his brothers and lived in the land of Tob; and worthless fellows gathered themselves about Jephthah, and they went out with him.(nas) Jdg 11:3 καὶ ἔφυγεν Ιεφθαε ἀπὸ προσώπου ἀδελφῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ ᾤκησεν ἐν γῇ Τωβ καὶ συνεστράφησαν πρὸς Ιεφθαε ἄνδρες κενοὶ καὶ ἐξῆλθον μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ (lxx) Jdg 11:3 Quos ille fugiens atque devitans, habitavit in terra Tob: congregatique sunt ad eum viri inopes, et latrocinantes, et quasi principem sequebantur.(vulgate) 3 ׃11 וַיִּבְרַ֤ח יִפְתָּח֙ מִפְּנֵ֣י אֶחָ֔יו וַיֵּ֖שֶׁב בְּאֶ֣רֶץ ט֑וֹב וַיִּֽתְלַקְּט֤וּ אֶל־יִפְתָּח֙ אֲנָשִׁ֣ים רֵיקִ֔ים וַיֵּצְא֖וּ עִמּֽוֹ׃ פ Judges Jdg 11:3 Da floh er vor seinen Brüdern und wohnte im Lande Tob. Und es sammelten sich zu ihm lose Leute und zogen aus mit ihm.(dhs) Jdg 11:3 Then Jephthah fled from his brothers and dwelt in the land of Tob; and worthless men banded together with Jephthah and went out raiding with him.(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:4 ============ Jdg 11:4 It came about after a while that the sons of Ammon fought against Israel.(nas) Jdg 11:4 missing in LXX (lxx) Jdg 11:4 In illis diebus pugnabant filii Ammon contra Israël.(vulgate) 4 ׃11 וַיְהִ֖י מִיָּמִ֑ים וַיִּלָּחֲמ֥וּ בְנֵֽי־עַמּ֖וֹן עִם־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Judges Jdg 11:4 Und über etliche Zeit hernach stritten die Kinder Ammon mit Israel.(dhs) Jdg 11:4 It came to pass after a time that the people of Ammon made war against Israel.(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:5 ============ Jdg 11:5 When the sons of Ammon fought against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to get Jephthah from the land of Tob;(nas) Jdg 11:5 καὶ ἐγένετο ἡνίκα παρετάξαντο οἱ υἱοὶ Αμμων μετὰ Ισραηλ καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν οἱ πρεσβύτεροι Γαλααδ λαβεῖν τὸν Ιεφθαε ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς Τωβ (lxx) Jdg 11:5 Quibus acriter instantibus perrexerunt majores natu de Galaad, ut tollerent in auxilium sui Jephte de terra Tob:(vulgate) 5 ׃11 וַיְהִ֕י כַּאֲשֶׁר־נִלְחֲמ֥וּ בְנֵֽי־עַמּ֖וֹן עִם־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיֵּֽלְכוּ֙ זִקְנֵ֣י גִלְעָ֔ד לָקַ֥חַת אֶת־יִפְתָּ֖ח מֵאֶ֥רֶץ טֽוֹב׃ Judges Jdg 11:5 Da nun die Kinder Ammon also stritten mit Israel, gingen die Ältesten von Gilead hin, daß sie Jephthah holten aus dem Lande Tob,(dhs) Jdg 11:5 And so it was, when the people of Ammon made war against Israel, that the elders of Gilead went to get Jephthah from the land of Tob.(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:6 ============ Jdg 11:6 and they said to Jephthah, "Come and be our chief that we may fight against the sons of Ammon."(nas) Jdg 11:6 καὶ εἶπαν τῷ Ιεφθαε δεῦρο καὶ ἔσῃ ἡμῖν εἰς ἀρχηγόν καὶ παραταξώμεθα πρὸς υἱοὺς Αμμων (lxx) Jdg 11:6 dixeruntque ad eum: Veni et esto princeps noster, et pugna contra filios Ammon.(vulgate) 6 ׃11 וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ לְיִפְתָּ֔ח לְכָ֕ה וְהָיִ֥יתָה לָּ֖נוּ לְקָצִ֑ין וְנִֽלָּחֲמָ֖ה בִּבְנֵ֥י עַמּֽוֹן׃ Judges Jdg 11:6 und sprachen zu ihm: Komm und sei unser Hauptmann, daß wir streiten wider die Kinder Ammon.(dhs) Jdg 11:6 Then they said to Jephthah, "Come and be our commander, that we may fight against the people of Ammon."(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:7 ============ Jdg 11:7 Then Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, "Did you not hate me and drive me from my father's house? So why have you come to me now when you are in trouble?"(nas) Jdg 11:7 καὶ εἶπεν Ιεφθαε τοῖς πρεσβυτέροις Γαλααδ οὐχὶ ὑμεῖς ἐμισήσατέ με καὶ ἐξεβάλετέ με ἐκ τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ πατρός μου καὶ ἐξαπεστείλατέ με ἀφ᾽ ὑμῶν καὶ διὰ τί ἤλθατε πρός με νῦν ἡνίκα χρῄζετε (lxx) Jdg 11:7 Quibus ille respondit: Nonne vos estis, qui odistis me, et ejecistis de domo patris mei? et nunc venistis ad me necessitate compulsi.(vulgate) 7 ׃11 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יִפְתָּח֙ לְזִקְנֵ֣י גִלְעָ֔ד הֲלֹ֤א אַתֶּם֙ שְׂנֵאתֶ֣ם אוֹתִ֔י וַתְּגָרְשׁ֖וּנִי מִבֵּ֣ית אָבִ֑י וּמַדּ֜וּעַ בָּאתֶ֤ם אֵלַי֙ עַ֔תָּה כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר צַ֥ר לָכֶֽם׃ Judges Jdg 11:7 Aber Jephthah sprach zu den Ältesten von Gilead: Seid ihr es nicht, die mich hassen und aus meines Vaters Haus gestoßen haben? Und nun kommt ihr zu mir, weil ihr in Trübsal seid?(dhs) Jdg 11:7 So Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, "Did you not hate me, and expel me from my father's house? Why have you come to me now when you are in distress?"(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:8 ============ Jdg 11:8 The elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, "For this reason we have now returned to you, that you may go with us and fight with the sons of Ammon and become head over all the inhabitants of Gilead."(nas) Jdg 11:8 καὶ εἶπαν οἱ πρεσβύτεροι Γαλααδ πρὸς Ιεφθαε διὰ τοῦτο νῦν ἐπεστρέψαμεν πρὸς σέ καὶ πορεύσῃ μεθ᾽ ἡμῶν καὶ παρατάξῃ πρὸς υἱοὺς Αμμων καὶ ἔσῃ ἡμῖν εἰς ἄρχοντα πᾶσιν τοῖς οἰκοῦσιν Γαλααδ (lxx) Jdg 11:8 Dixeruntque principes Galaad ad Jephte: Ob hanc igitur causam nunc ad te venimus, ut proficiscaris nobiscum, et pugnes contra filios Ammon, sisque dux omnium qui habitant in Galaad.(vulgate) 8 ׃11 וַיֹּאמְרוּ֩ זִקְנֵ֨י גִלְעָ֜ד אֶל־יִפְתָּ֗ח לָכֵן֙ עַתָּה֙ שַׁ֣בְנוּ אֵלֶ֔יךָ וְהָלַכְתָּ֣ עִמָּ֔נוּ וְנִלְחַמְתָּ֖ בִּבְנֵ֣י עַמּ֑וֹן וְהָיִ֤יתָ לָּ֙נוּ֙ לְרֹ֔אשׁ לְכֹ֖ל יֹשְׁבֵ֥י גִלְעָֽד׃ Judges Jdg 11:8 Die Ältesten von Gilead sprachen zu Jephthah: Darum kommen wir nun wieder zu dir, daß du mit uns ziehst und hilfst uns streiten wider die Kinder Ammon und seist unser Haupt über alle, die in Gilead wohnen.(dhs) Jdg 11:8 And the elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, "That is why we have turned again to you now, that you may go with us and fight against the people of Ammon, and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead."(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:9 ============ Jdg 11:9 So Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, "If you take me back to fight against the sons of Ammon and the Lord gives them up to me, will I become your head?"(nas) Jdg 11:9 καὶ εἶπεν Ιεφθαε πρὸς τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους Γαλααδ εἰ ἐπιστρέφετέ με ὑμεῖς παρατάξασθαι ἐν υἱοῖς Αμμων καὶ παραδῷ κύριος αὐτοὺς ἐνώπιον ἐμοῦ καὶ ἐγὼ ἔσομαι ὑμῖν εἰς ἄρχοντα (lxx) Jdg 11:9 Jephte quoque dixit eis: Si vere venistis ad me, ut pugnem pro vobis contra filios Ammon, tradideritque eos Dominus in manus meas, ego ero vester princeps?(vulgate) 9 ׃11 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יִפְתָּ֜ח אֶל־זִקְנֵ֣י גִלְעָ֗ד אִם־מְשִׁיבִ֨ים אַתֶּ֤ם אוֹתִי֙ לְהִלָּחֵם֙ בִּבְנֵ֣י עַמּ֔וֹן וְנָתַ֧ן יְהוָ֛ה אוֹתָ֖ם לְפָנָ֑י אָנֹכִ֕י אֶהְיֶ֥ה לָכֶ֖ם לְרֹֽאשׁ׃ Judges Jdg 11:9 Jephthah sprach zu den Ältesten von Gilead: So ihr mich wieder holet, zu streiten wider die Kinder Ammon, und der HERR sie vor mir dahingeben wird, soll ich dann euer Haupt sein?(dhs) Jdg 11:9 So Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, "If you take me back home to fight against the people of Ammon, and the Lord delivers them to me, shall I be your head?"(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:10 ============ Jdg 11:10 The elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, "The Lord is witness between us; surely we will do as you have said."(nas) Jdg 11:10 καὶ εἶπαν οἱ πρεσβύτεροι Γαλααδ πρὸς Ιεφθαε κύριος ἔστω ἀκούων ἀνὰ μέσον ἡμῶν εἰ μὴ κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμά σου οὕτως ποιήσομεν (lxx) Jdg 11:10 Qui responderunt ei: Dominus, qui hæc audit, ipse mediator ac testis est quod nostra promissa faciemus.(vulgate) 10 ׃11 וַיֹּאמְר֥וּ זִקְנֵֽי־גִלְעָ֖ד אֶל־יִפְתָּ֑ח יְהוָ֗ה יִהְיֶ֤ה שֹׁמֵ֙עַ֙ בֵּֽינוֹתֵ֔ינוּ אִם־לֹ֥א כִדְבָרְךָ֖ כֵּ֥ן נַעֲשֶֽׂה׃ Judges Jdg 11:10 Die Ältesten von Gilead sprachen zu Jephthah: Der HERR sei Zuhörer zwischen uns, wo wir nicht tun, wie du gesagt hast.(dhs) Jdg 11:10 And the elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, "The Lord will be a witness between us, if we do not do according to your words."(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:11 ============ Jdg 11:11 Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and chief over them; and Jephthah spoke all his words before the Lord at Mizpah.(nas) Jdg 11:11 καὶ ἐπορεύθη Ιεφθαε μετὰ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων Γαλααδ καὶ ἔθηκαν αὐτὸν ὁ λαὸς ἐπ᾽ αὐτοὺς εἰς κεφαλὴν καὶ εἰς ἀρχηγόν καὶ ἐλάλησεν Ιεφθαε τοὺς λόγους αὐτοῦ πάντας ἐνώπιον κυρίου ἐν Μασσηφα (lxx) Jdg 11:11 Abiit itaque Jephte cum principibus Galaad, fecitque eum omnis populus principem sui. Locutusque est Jephte omnes sermones suos coram Domino in Maspha.~(vulgate) 11 ׃11 וַיֵּ֤לֶךְ יִפְתָּח֙ עִם־זִקְנֵ֣י גִלְעָ֔ד וַיָּשִׂ֨ימוּ הָעָ֥ם אוֹת֛וֹ עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם לְרֹ֣אשׁ וּלְקָצִ֑ין וַיְדַבֵּ֨ר יִפְתָּ֧ח אֶת־כָּל־דְּבָרָ֛יו לִפְנֵ֥י יְהוָ֖ה בַּמִּצְפָּֽה׃ פ Judges Jdg 11:11 Also ging Jephthah mit den Ältesten von Gilead; und das Volk setzte ihn zum Haupt und Obersten über sich. Und Jephthah redete solches alles vor dem HERRN zu Mizpa.(dhs) Jdg 11:11 Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and commander over them; and Jephthah spoke all his words before the Lord in Mizpah.(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:12 ============ Jdg 11:12 Now Jephthah sent messengers to the king of the sons of Ammon, saying, "What is between you and me, that you have come to me to fight against my land?"(nas) Jdg 11:12 καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Ιεφθαε ἀγγέλους πρὸς βασιλέα υἱῶν Αμμων λέγων τί ἐμοὶ καὶ σοί ὅτι ἦλθες πρός με τοῦ παρατάξασθαι ἐν τῇ γῇ μου (lxx) Jdg 11:12 Et misit nuntios ad regem filiorum Ammon, qui ex persona sua dicerent: Quid mihi et tibi est, quia venisti contra me, ut vastares terram meam?(vulgate) 12 ׃11 וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח יִפְתָּח֙ מַלְאָכִ֔ים אֶל־מֶ֥לֶךְ בְּנֵֽי־עַמּ֖וֹן לֵאמֹ֑ר מַה־לִּ֣י וָלָ֔ךְ כִּֽי־בָ֥אתָ אֵלַ֖י לְהִלָּחֵ֥ם בְּאַרְצִֽי׃ Judges Jdg 11:12 Da sandte Jephthah Botschaft zum König der Kinder Ammon und ließ ihm sagen: Was hast du mit mir zu schaffen, daß du kommst zu mir, wider mein Land zu streiten?(dhs) Jdg 11:12 Now Jephthah sent messengers to the king of the people of Ammon, saying, "What do you have against me, that you have come to fight against me in my land?"(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:13 ============ Jdg 11:13 The king of the sons of Ammon said to the messengers of Jephthah, "Because Israel took away my land when they came up from Egypt, from the Arnon as far as the Jabbok and the Jordan; therefore, return them peaceably now."(nas) Jdg 11:13 καὶ εἶπεν βασιλεὺς υἱῶν Αμμων πρὸς τοὺς ἀγγέλους Ιεφθαε ὅτι ἔλαβεν Ισραηλ τὴν γῆν μου ἐν τῷ ἀναβαίνειν αὐτὸν ἐξ Αἰγύπτου ἀπὸ Αρνων καὶ ἕως Ιαβοκ καὶ ἕως τοῦ Ιορδάνου καὶ νῦν ἐπίστρεψον αὐτὰς ἐν εἰρήνῃ καὶ πορεύσομαι (lxx) Jdg 11:13 Quibus ille respondit: Quia tulit Israël terram meam, quando ascendit de Ægypto, a finibus Arnon usque Jaboc atque Jordanem: nunc ergo cum pace redde mihi eam.(vulgate) 13 ׃11 וַיֹּאמֶר֩ מֶ֨לֶךְ בְּנֵי־עַמּ֜וֹן אֶל־מַלְאֲכֵ֣י יִפְתָּ֗ח כִּֽי־לָקַ֨ח יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל אֶת־אַרְצִי֙ בַּעֲלוֹת֣וֹ מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם מֵאַרְנ֥וֹן וְעַד־הַיַּבֹּ֖ק וְעַד־הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן וְעַתָּ֕ה הָשִׁ֥יבָה אֶתְהֶ֖ן בְּשָׁלֽוֹם׃ Judges Jdg 11:13 Der König der Kinder Ammon antwortete den Boten Jephthahs: Darum daß Israel mein Land genommen hat, da sie aus Ägypten zogen, vom Arnon an bis an den Jabbok und wieder bis zum Jordan; so gib mir's nun wieder mit Frieden.(dhs) Jdg 11:13 And the king of the people of Ammon answered the messengers of Jephthah, "Because Israel took away my land when they came up out of Egypt, from the Arnon as far as the Jabbok, and to the Jordan. Now therefore, restore those lands peaceably."(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:14 ============ Jdg 11:14 But Jephthah sent messengers again to the king of the sons of Ammon,(nas) Jdg 11:14 καὶ προσέθηκεν ἔτι Ιεφθαε καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ἀγγέλους πρὸς βασιλέα υἱῶν Αμμων (lxx) Jdg 11:14 Per quos rursum mandavit Jephte, et imperavit eis ut dicerent regi Ammon:(vulgate) 14 ׃11 וַיּ֥וֹסֶף ע֖וֹד יִפְתָּ֑ח וַיִּשְׁלַח֙ מַלְאָכִ֔ים אֶל־מֶ֖לֶךְ בְּנֵ֥י עַמּֽוֹן׃ Judges Jdg 11:14 Jephthah aber sandte noch mehr Boten zum König der Kinder Ammon,(dhs) Jdg 11:14 So Jephthah again sent messengers to the king of the people of Ammon,(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:15 ============ Jdg 11:15 and they said to him, "Thus says Jephthah, 'Israel did not take away the land of Moab nor the land of the sons of Ammon.(nas) Jdg 11:15 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ οὕτω λέγει Ιεφθαε οὐκ ἔλαβεν Ισραηλ τὴν γῆν Μωαβ καὶ τὴν γῆν υἱῶν Αμμων (lxx) Jdg 11:15 Hæc dicit Jephte: Non tulit Israël terram Moab, nec terram filiorum Ammon:(vulgate) 15 ׃11 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ל֔וֹ כֹּ֖ה אָמַ֣ר יִפְתָּ֑ח לֹֽא־לָקַ֤ח יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אֶת־אֶ֣רֶץ מוֹאָ֔ב וְאֶת־אֶ֖רֶץ בְּנֵ֥י עַמּֽוֹן׃ Judges Jdg 11:15 die sprachen zu ihm: So spricht Jephthah: Israel hat kein Land genommen, weder den Moabitern noch den Kindern Ammon.(dhs) Jdg 11:15 and said to him, "Thus says Jephthah: 'Israel did not take away the land of Moab, nor the land of the people of Ammon;(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:16 ============ Jdg 11:16 For when they came up from Egypt, and Israel went through the wilderness to the Red Sea and came to Kadesh,(nas) Jdg 11:16 ὅτι ἐν τῷ ἀναβαίνειν αὐτοὺς ἐξ Αἰγύπτου ἐπορεύθη Ισραηλ ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ἕως θαλάσσης Σιφ καὶ ἦλθεν εἰς Καδης (lxx) Jdg 11:16 sed quando de Ægypto conscenderunt, ambulavit per solitudinem usque ad mare Rubrum, et venit in Cades.(vulgate) 16 ׃11 כִּ֖י בַּעֲלוֹתָ֣ם מִמִּצְרָ֑יִם וַיֵּ֨לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל בַּמִּדְבָּר֙ עַד־יַם־ס֔וּף וַיָּבֹ֖א קָדֵֽשָׁה׃ Judges Jdg 11:16 Denn da sie aus Ägypten zogen, wandelte Israel durch die Wüste bis ans Schilfmeer und kam gen Kades(dhs) Jdg 11:16 for when Israel came up from Egypt, they walked through the wilderness as far as the Red Sea and came to Kadesh.(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:17 ============ Jdg 11:17 then Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, "Please let us pass through your land," but the king of Edom would not listen. And they also sent to the king of Moab, but he would not consent. Aber der Edomiter König erhörte sie nicht. Auch sandten sie zum König der Moabiter; der wollte auch nicht. Also blieb Israel in Kades(dhs) Jdg 11:17 Then Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, "Please let me pass through your land." But the king of Edom would not heed. And in like manner they sent to the king of Moab, but he would not consent. So Israel remained in Kadesh.(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:18 ============ Jdg 11:18 Then they went through the wilderness and around the land of Edom and the land of Moab, and came to the east side of the land of Moab, and they camped beyond the Arnon; but they did not enter the territory of Moab, for the Arnon was the border of Moab.(nas) Jdg 11:18 καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ καὶ ἐκύκλωσεν τὴν γῆν Εδωμ καὶ τὴν γῆν Μωαβ καὶ ἦλθεν ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν ἡλίου τῇ γῇ Μωαβ καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐν πέραν Αρνων καὶ οὐκ εἰσῆλθεν ἐν ὁρίοις Μωαβ ὅτι Αρνων ὅριον Μωαβ (lxx) Jdg 11:18 et circuivit ex latere terram Edom et terram Moab: venitque contra orientalem plagam terræ Moab, et castrametatus est trans Arnon: nec voluit intrare terminos Moab. So whatever the Lord our God has driven out before us, we will possess it.(nas) Jdg 11:24 οὐχὶ ἃ ἐὰν κληρονομήσει σε Χαμως ὁ θεός σου αὐτὰ κληρονομήσεις καὶ τοὺς πάντας οὓς ἐξῆρεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν ἀπὸ προσώπου ἡμῶν αὐτοὺς κληρονομήσομεν (lxx) Jdg 11:24 nonne ea quæ possidet Chamos deus tuus, tibi jure debentur? quæ autem Dominus Deus noster victor obtinuit, in nostram cedent possessionem:(vulgate) 24 ׃11 הֲלֹ֞א אֵ֣ת אֲשֶׁ֧ר יוֹרִֽישְׁךָ֛ כְּמ֥וֹשׁ אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ אוֹת֥וֹ תִירָ֑שׁ וְאֵת֩ כָּל־אֲשֶׁ֨ר הוֹרִ֜ישׁ יְהוָ֧ה אֱלֹהֵ֛ינוּ מִפָּנֵ֖ינוּ אוֹת֥וֹ נִירָֽשׁ׃ Judges Jdg 11:24 Du solltest deren Land einnehmen, die dein Gott Kamos vertriebe, und uns lassen einnehmen das Land aller, die der HERR, unser Gott, vor uns vertrieben hat.(dhs) Jdg 11:24 Will you not possess whatever Chemosh your god gives you to possess? Did he ever strive with Israel, or did he ever fight against them?(nas) Jdg 11:25 καὶ νῦν μὴ ἐν ἀγαθῷ ἀγαθώτερος σὺ ὑπὲρ Βαλακ υἱὸν Σεπφωρ βασιλέα Μωαβ μὴ μαχόμενος ἐμαχέσατο μετὰ Ισραηλ ἢ πολεμῶν ἐπολέμησεν αὐτόν (lxx) Jdg 11:25 nisi forte melior es Balac filio Sephor rege Moab; aut docere potes, quod jurgatus sit contra Israël, et pugnaverit contra eum,(vulgate) 25 ׃11 וְעַתָּ֗ה הֲט֥וֹב טוֹב֙ אַתָּ֔ה מִבָּלָ֥ק בֶּן־צִפּ֖וֹר מֶ֣לֶךְ מוֹאָ֑ב הֲר֥וֹב רָב֙ עִם־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אִם־נִלְחֹ֥ם נִלְחַ֖ם בָּֽם׃ Judges Jdg 11:25 Meinst du, daß du besser recht habest denn Balak, der Sohn Zippors, der Moabiter König? Did he ever fight against them?(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:26 ============ Jdg 11:26 While Israel lived in Heshbon and its villages, and in Aroer and its villages, and in all the cities that are on the banks of the Arnon, three hundred years, why did you not recover them within that time?(nas) Jdg 11:26 ἐν τῷ οἰκῆσαι ἐν Εσεβων καὶ ἐν τοῖς ὁρίοις αὐτῆς καὶ ἐν γῇ Αροηρ καὶ ἐν τοῖς ὁρίοις αὐτῆς καὶ ἐν πάσαις ταῖς πόλεσιν ταῖς παρὰ τὸν Ιορδάνην τριακόσια ἔτη καὶ διὰ τί οὐκ ἐρρύσω αὐτοὺς ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ (lxx) Jdg 11:26 quando habitavit in Hesebon et viculis ejus, et in Aroër et villis illius, vel in cunctis civitatibus juxta Jordanem, per trecentos annos. Quare tanto tempore nihil super hac repetitione tentastis?(vulgate) 26 ׃11 בְּשֶׁ֣בֶת יִ֠שְׂרָאֵל בְּחֶשְׁבּ֨וֹן וּבִבְנוֹתֶ֜יהָ וּבְעַרְע֣וֹר וּבִבְנוֹתֶ֗יהָ וּבְכָל־הֶֽעָרִים֙ אֲשֶׁר֙ עַל־יְדֵ֣י אַרְנ֔וֹן שְׁלֹ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וּמַדּ֥וּעַ לֹֽא־הִצַּלְתֶּ֖ם בָּעֵ֥ת הַהִֽיא׃ Judges Jdg 11:26 Dieweil nun Israel dreihundert Jahre gewohnt hat in Hesbon und in Aroer und ihren Ortschaften und allen Städten, die am Arnon liegen, warum errettetet ihr's nicht in dieser Zeit?(dhs) Jdg 11:26 While Israel dwelt in Heshbon and its villages, in Aroer and its villages, and in all the cities along the banks of the Arnon, for three hundred years, why did you not recover them within that time?(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:27 ============ Jdg 11:27 I therefore have not sinned against you, but you are doing me wrong by making war against me; may the Lord, the Judge, judge today between the sons of Israel and the sons of Ammon.'"(nas) Jdg 11:27 καὶ νῦν ἐγώ εἰμι οὐχ ἥμαρτόν σοι καὶ σὺ ποιεῖς μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ πονηρίαν τοῦ παρατάξασθαι ἐν ἐμοί κρίναι κύριος κρίνων σήμερον ἀνὰ μέσον υἱῶν Ισραηλ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον υἱῶν Αμμων (lxx) Jdg 11:27 Igitur non ego pecco in te, sed tu contra me male agis, indicens mihi bella non justa. Judicet Dominus arbiter hujus diei inter Israël, et inter filios Ammon.(vulgate) 27 ׃11 וְאָֽנֹכִי֙ לֹֽא־חָטָ֣אתִי לָ֔ךְ וְאַתָּ֞ה עֹשֶׂ֥ה אִתִּ֛י רָעָ֖ה לְהִלָּ֣חֶם בִּ֑י יִשְׁפֹּ֨ט יְהוָ֤ה הַשֹּׁפֵט֙ הַיּ֔וֹם בֵּ֚ין בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וּבֵ֖ין בְּנֵ֥י עַמּֽוֹן׃ Judges Jdg 11:27 Ich habe nichts an dir gesündigt, und du tust so übel an mir, daß du wider mich streitest. Der HERR, der da Richter ist, richte heute zwischen Israel und den Kindern Ammon.(dhs) Jdg 11:27 Therefore I have not sinned against you, but you wronged me by fighting against me. May the Lord, the Judge, render judgment this day between the children of Israel and the people of Ammon.' "(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:28 ============ Jdg 11:28 But the king of the sons of Ammon disregarded the message which Jephthah sent him.(nas) Jdg 11:28 καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσεν βασιλεὺς υἱῶν Αμμων τῶν λόγων Ιεφθαε ὧν ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς αὐτόν (lxx) Jdg 11:28 Noluitque acquiescere rex filiorum Ammon verbis Jephte, quæ per nuntios mandaverat.~(vulgate) 28 ׃11 וְלֹ֣א שָׁמַ֔ע מֶ֖לֶךְ בְּנֵ֣י עַמּ֑וֹן אֶל־דִּבְרֵ֣י יִפְתָּ֔ח אֲשֶׁ֥ר שָׁלַ֖ח אֵלָֽיו׃ פ Judges Jdg 11:28 Aber der König der Kinder Ammon erhörte die Rede Jephthahs nicht, die er zu ihm sandte.(dhs) Jdg 11:28 However, the king of the people of Ammon did not heed the words which Jephthah sent him.(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:29 ============ Jdg 11:29 Now the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jephthah, so that he passed through Gilead and Manasseh; then he passed through Mizpah of Gilead, and from Mizpah of Gilead he went on to the sons of Ammon.(nas) Jdg 11:29 καὶ ἐγένετο ἐπὶ Ιεφθαε πνεῦμα κυρίου καὶ παρῆλθεν τὸν Γαλααδ καὶ τὸν Μανασση καὶ παρῆλθεν τὴν σκοπιὰν Γαλααδ εἰς τὸ πέραν υἱῶν Αμμων (lxx) Jdg 11:29 Factus est ergo super Jephte spiritus Domini, et circuiens Galaad et Manasse, Maspha quoque Galaad, et inde transiens ad filios Ammon,(vulgate) 29 ׃11 וַתְּהִ֤י עַל־יִפְתָּח֙ ר֣וּחַ יְהוָ֔ה וַיַּעֲבֹ֥ר אֶת־הַגִּלְעָ֖ד וְאֶת־מְנַשֶּׁ֑ה וַֽיַּעֲבֹר֙ אֶת־מִצְפֵּ֣ה גִלְעָ֔ד וּמִמִּצְפֵּ֣ה גִלְעָ֔ד עָבַ֖ר בְּנֵ֥י עַמּֽוֹן׃ Judges Jdg 11:29 Da kam der Geist des HERRN auf Jephthah, und er zog durch Gilead und Manasse und durch Mizpe, das in Gilead liegt, und von Mizpe, das in Gilead liegt auf die Kinder Ammon.(dhs) Jdg 11:29 Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jephthah, and he passed through Gilead and Manasseh, and passed through Mizpah of Gilead; and from Mizpah of Gilead he advanced toward the people of Ammon.(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:30 ============ Jdg 11:30 Jephthah made a vow to the Lord and said, "If You will indeed give the sons of Ammon into my hand,(nas) Jdg 11:30 καὶ ηὔξατο Ιεφθαε εὐχὴν τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ εἶπεν ἐὰν διδοὺς δῷς τοὺς υἱοὺς Αμμων ἐν τῇ χειρί μου (lxx) Jdg 11:30 votum vovit Domino, dicens: Si tradideris filios Ammon in manus meas,(vulgate) 30 ׃11 וַיִּדַּ֨ר יִפְתָּ֥ח נֶ֛דֶר לַיהוָ֖ה וַיֹּאמַ֑ר אִם־נָת֥וֹן תִּתֵּ֛ן אֶת־בְּנֵ֥י עַמּ֖וֹן בְּיָדִֽי׃ Judges Jdg 11:30 Und Jephthah gelobte dem HERRN ein Gelübde und sprach: Gibst du die Kinder Ammon in meine Hand:(dhs) Jdg 11:30 And Jephthah made a vow to the Lord, and said, "If You will indeed deliver the people of Ammon into my hands,(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:31 ============ Jdg 11:31 then it shall be that whatever comes out of the doors of my house to meet me when I return in peace from the sons of Ammon, it shall be the Lord's, and I will offer it up as a burnt offering."(nas) Jdg 11:31 καὶ ἔσται ὁ ἐκπορευόμενος ὃς ἐὰν ἐξέλθῃ ἀπὸ τῆς θύρας τοῦ οἴκου μου εἰς συνάντησίν μου ἐν τῷ ἐπιστρέφειν με ἐν εἰρήνῃ ἀπὸ υἱῶν Αμμων καὶ ἔσται τῷ κυρίῳ ἀνοίσω αὐτὸν ὁλοκαύτωμα (lxx) Jdg 11:31 quicumque primus fuerit egressus de foribus domus meæ, mihique occurrerit revertenti cum pace a filiis Ammon, eum holocaustum offeram Domino.(vulgate) 31 ׃11 וְהָיָ֣ה הַיּוֹצֵ֗א אֲשֶׁ֨ר יֵצֵ֜א מִדַּלְתֵ֤י בֵיתִי֙ לִקְרָאתִ֔י בְּשׁוּבִ֥י בְשָׁל֖וֹם מִבְּנֵ֣י עַמּ֑וֹן וְהָיָה֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה וְהַעֲלִיתִ֖הוּ עוֹלָֽה׃ פ Judges Jdg 11:31 was zu meiner Haustür heraus mir entgegengeht, wenn ich mit Frieden wiederkomme von den Kindern Ammon, das soll des HERRN sein, und ich will's zum Brandopfer opfern.(dhs) Jdg 11:31 then it will be that whatever comes out of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the people of Ammon, shall surely be the Lord's, and I will offer it up as a burnt offering."(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:32 ============ Jdg 11:32 So Jephthah crossed over to the sons of Ammon to fight against them; and the Lord gave them into his hand.(nas) Jdg 11:32 καὶ παρῆλθεν Ιεφθαε πρὸς υἱοὺς Αμμων παρατάξασθαι πρὸς αὐτούς καὶ παρέδωκεν αὐτοὺς κύριος ἐν χειρὶ αὐτοῦ (lxx) Jdg 11:32 Transivitque Jephte ad filios Ammon, ut pugnaret contra eos: quos tradidit Dominus in manus ejus.(vulgate) 32 ׃11 וַיַּעֲבֹ֥ר יִפְתָּ֛ח אֶל־בְּנֵ֥י עַמּ֖וֹן לְהִלָּ֣חֶם בָּ֑ם וַיִתְּנֵ֥ם יְהוָ֖ה בְּיָדֽוֹ׃ Judges Jdg 11:32 Also zog Jephthah auf die Kinder Ammon, wider sie zu streiten. Und der HERR gab sie in seine Hände.(dhs) Jdg 11:32 So Jephthah advanced toward the people of Ammon to fight against them, and the Lord delivered them into his hands.(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:33 ============ Jdg 11:33 He struck them with a very great slaughter from Aroer to the entrance of Minnith, twenty cities, and as far as Abel-keramim. So the sons of Ammon were subdued before the sons of Israel.(nas) Jdg 11:33 καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ Αροηρ ἕως ἐλθεῖν ἄχρις Αρνων ἐν ἀριθμῷ εἴκοσι πόλεις καὶ ἕως Εβελχαρμιν πληγὴν μεγάλην σφόδρα καὶ συνεστάλησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Αμμων ἀπὸ προσώπου υἱῶν Ισραηλ (lxx) Jdg 11:33 Percussitque ab Aroër usque dum venias in Mennith, viginti civitates, et usque ad Abel, quæ est vineis consita, plaga magna nimis: humiliatique sunt filii Ammon a filiis Israël.~(vulgate) 33 ׃11 וַיַּכֵּ֡ם מֵעֲרוֹעֵר֩ וְעַד־בּוֹאֲךָ֨ מִנִּ֜ית עֶשְׂרִ֣ים עִ֗יר וְעַד֙ אָבֵ֣ל כְּרָמִ֔ים מַכָּ֖ה גְּדוֹלָ֣ה מְאֹ֑ד וַיִּכָּֽנְעוּ֙ בְּנֵ֣י עַמּ֔וֹן מִפְּנֵ֖י בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ פ Judges Jdg 11:33 Und er schlug sie von Aroer an, bis wo man kommt gen Minnith, zwanzig Städte, und bis an den Plan der Weinberge, eine sehr große Schlacht. Und wurden also die Kinder Ammon gedemütigt vor den Kindern Israel.(dhs) Jdg 11:33 And he defeated them from Aroer as far as Minnith--twenty cities--and to Abel Keramim, with a very great slaughter. Thus the people of Ammon were subdued before the children of Israel.(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:34 ============ Jdg 11:34 When Jephthah came to his house at Mizpah, behold, his daughter was coming out to meet him with tambourines and with dancing. Now she was his one and only child; besides her he had no son or daughter.(nas) Jdg 11:34 καὶ ἦλθεν Ιεφθαε εἰς Μασσηφα εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἰδοὺ ἡ θυγάτηρ αὐτοῦ ἐξεπορεύετο εἰς ὑπάντησιν ἐν τυμπάνοις καὶ χοροῖς καὶ ἦν αὕτη μονογενής οὐκ ἦν αὐτῷ ἕτερος υἱὸς ἢ θυγάτηρ (lxx) Jdg 11:34 Revertente autem Jephte in Maspha domum suam, occurrit ei unigenita filia sua cum tympanis et choris: non enim habebat alios liberos.(vulgate) 34 ׃11 וַיָּבֹ֨א יִפְתָּ֣ח הַמִּצְפָּה֮ אֶל־בֵּיתוֹ֒ וְהִנֵּ֤ה בִתּוֹ֙ יֹצֵ֣את לִקְרָאת֔וֹ בְתֻפִּ֖ים וּבִמְחֹל֑וֹת וְרַק֙ הִ֣יא יְחִידָ֔ה אֵֽין־ל֥וֹ מִמֶּ֛נּוּ בֵּ֖ן אוֹ־בַֽת׃ Judges Jdg 11:34 Da nun Jephthah kam gen Mizpa zu seinem Hause, siehe, da geht seine Tochter heraus ihm entgegen mit Pauken und Reigen; und sie war sein einziges Kind, und er hatte sonst keinen Sohn noch Tochter.(dhs) Jdg 11:34 When Jephthah came to his house at Mizpah, there was his daughter, coming out to meet him with timbrels and dancing; and she was his only child. Besides her he had neither son nor daughter.(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:35 ============ Jdg 11:35 When he saw her, he tore his clothes and said, "Alas, my daughter! You have brought me very low, and you are among those who trouble me; for I have given my word to the Lord, and I cannot take it back."(nas) Jdg 11:35 καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς εἶδεν αὐτὴν αὐτός διέρρηξεν τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν ἆ ἆ θυγάτηρ μου ταραχῇ ἐτάραξάς με καὶ σὺ ἦς ἐν τῷ ταράχῳ μου καὶ ἐγώ εἰμι ἤνοιξα κατὰ σοῦ τὸ στόμα μου πρὸς κύριον καὶ οὐ δυνήσομαι ἐπιστρέψαι (lxx) Jdg 11:35 Qua visa, scidit vestimenta sua, et ait: Heu me, filia mea! decepisti me, et ipsa decepta es: aperui enim os meum ad Dominum, et aliud facere non potero.(vulgate) 35 ׃11 וַיְהִי֩ כִרְאוֹת֨וֹ אוֹתָ֜הּ וַיִּקְרַ֣ע אֶת־בְּגָדָ֗יו וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֲהָ֤הּ בִּתִּי֙ הַכְרֵ֣עַ הִכְרַעְתִּ֔נִי וְאַ֖תְּ הָיִ֣יתְ בְּעֹֽכְרָ֑י וְאָנֹכִ֗י פָּצִ֤יתִי־פִי֙ אֶל־יְהוָ֔ה וְלֹ֥א אוּכַ֖ל לָשֽׁוּב׃ Judges Jdg 11:35 Und da er sie sah, zerriß er seine Kleider und sprach: Ach, meine Tochter, wie beugst du mich und betrübst mich! Denn ich habe meinen Mund aufgetan gegen den HERRN und kann's nicht widerrufen.(dhs) Jdg 11:35 And it came to pass, when he saw her, that he tore his clothes, and said, "Alas, my daughter! You have brought me very low! You are among those who trouble me! For I have given my word to the Lord, and I cannot go back on it."(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:36 ============ Jdg 11:36 So she said to him, "My father, you have given your word to the Lord; do to me as you have said, since the Lord has avenged you of your enemies, the sons of Ammon."(nas) Jdg 11:36 ἡ δὲ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτόν πάτερ ἤνοιξας τὸ στόμα σου πρὸς κύριον ποίησόν μοι ὃν τρόπον ἐξῆλθεν ἐκ στόματός σου ἐν τῷ ποιῆσαί σοι κύριον ἐκδίκησιν ἀπὸ τῶν ἐχθρῶν σου ἀπὸ υἱῶν Αμμων (lxx) Jdg 11:36 Cui illa respondit: Pater mi, si aperuisti os tuum ad Dominum, fac mihi quodcumque pollicitus es, concessa tibi ultione atque victoria de hostibus tuis.(vulgate) 36 ׃11 וַתֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלָ֗יו אָבִי֙ פָּצִ֤יתָה אֶת־פִּ֙יךָ֙ אֶל־יְהוָ֔ה עֲשֵׂ֣ה לִ֔י כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר יָצָ֣א מִפִּ֑יךָ אַחֲרֵ֡י אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂה֩ לְךָ֙ יְהוָ֧ה נְקָמ֛וֹת מֵאֹיְבֶ֖יךָ מִבְּנֵ֥י עַמּֽוֹן׃ Judges Jdg 11:36 Sie aber sprach: Mein Vater, hast du deinen Mund aufgetan gegen den HERRN, so tue mir, wie es aus deinem Mund gegangen ist, nachdem der HERR dich gerächt hat an deinen Feinden, den Kindern Ammon.(dhs) Jdg 11:36 So she said to him, "My father, if you have given your word to the Lord, do to me according to what has gone out of your mouth, because the Lord has avenged you of your enemies, the people of Ammon."(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:37 ============ Jdg 11:37 She said to her father, "Let this thing be done for me; let me alone two months, that I may go to the mountains and weep because of my virginity, I and my companions."(nas) Jdg 11:37 καὶ ἥδε εἶπεν πρὸς τὸν πατέρα αὐτῆς ποιησάτω δὴ ὁ πατήρ μου τὸν λόγον τοῦτον ἔασόν με δύο μῆνας καὶ πορεύσομαι καὶ καταβήσομαι ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη καὶ κλαύσομαι ἐπὶ τὰ παρθένιά μου ἐγώ εἰμι καὶ αἱ συνεταιρίδες μου (lxx) Jdg 11:37 Dixitque ad patrem: Hoc solum mihi præsta quod deprecor: dimitte me ut duobus mensibus circumeam montes, et plangam virginitatem meam cum sodalibus meis.(vulgate) 37 ׃11 וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־אָבִ֔יהָ יֵעָ֥שֶׂה לִּ֖י הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֑ה הַרְפֵּ֨ה מִמֶּ֜נִּי שְׁנַ֣יִם חֳדָשִׁ֗ים וְאֵֽלְכָה֙ וְיָרַדְתִּ֣י עַל־הֶֽהָרִ֔ים וְאֶבְכֶּה֙ עַל־בְּתוּלַ֔י אָנֹכִ֖י *ורעיתי **וְרֵעוֹתָֽי׃ Judges Jdg 11:37 Und sie sprach zu ihrem Vater: Du wollest mir das tun, daß du mir lassest zwei Monate, daß ich von hinnen hinabgehe auf die Berge und meine Jungfrauschaft beweine mit meinen Gespielen.(dhs) Jdg 11:37 Then she said to her father, "Let this thing be done for me: let me alone for two months, that I may go and wander on the mountains and bewail my virginity, my friends and I."(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:38 ============ Jdg 11:38 Then he said, "Go." So he sent her away for two months; and she left with her companions, and wept on the mountains because of her virginity.(nas) Jdg 11:38 καὶ εἶπεν πορεύου καὶ ἀπέστειλεν αὐτὴν δύο μῆνας καὶ ἐπορεύθη αὐτὴ καὶ αἱ συνεταιρίδες αὐτῆς καὶ ἔκλαυσεν ἐπὶ τὰ παρθένια αὐτῆς ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη (lxx) Jdg 11:38 Cui ille respondit: Vade. Et dimisit eam duobus mensibus. Cumque abiisset cum sociis ac sodalibus suis, flebat virginitatem suam in montibus.(vulgate) 38 ׃11 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לֵ֔כִי וַיִּשְׁלַ֥ח אוֹתָ֖הּ שְׁנֵ֣י חֳדָשִׁ֑ים וַתֵּ֤לֶךְ הִיא֙ וְרֵ֣עוֹתֶ֔יהָ וַתֵּ֥בְךְּ עַל־בְּתוּלֶ֖יהָ עַל־הֶהָרִֽים׃ Judges Jdg 11:38 Er sprach: Gehe hin! und ließ sie zwei Monate gehen. Da ging sie hin mit ihren Gespielen und beweinte ihre Jungfrauschaft auf den Bergen.(dhs) Jdg 11:38 So he said, "Go." And he sent her away for two months; and she went with her friends, and bewailed her virginity on the mountains.(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:39 ============ Jdg 11:39 At the end of two months she returned to her father, who did to her according to the vow which he had made; and she had no relations with a man. Thus it became a custom in Israel,(nas) Jdg 11:39 καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τέλει τῶν δύο μηνῶν καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν πρὸς τὸν πατέρα αὐτῆς καὶ ἐποίησεν ἐν αὐτῇ τὴν εὐχὴν αὐτοῦ ἣν ηὔξατο καὶ αὐτὴ οὐκ ἔγνω ἄνδρα καὶ ἐγένετο εἰς πρόσταγμα ἐν Ισραηλ (lxx) Jdg 11:39 Expletisque duobus mensibus, reversa est ad patrem suum, et fecit ei sicut voverat, quæ ignorabat virum. Exinde mos increbruit in Israël, et consuetudo servata est,(vulgate) 39 ׃11 וַיְהִ֞י מִקֵּ֣ץ ׀ שְׁנַ֣יִם חֳדָשִׁ֗ים וַתָּ֙שָׁב֙ אֶל־אָבִ֔יהָ וַיַּ֣עַשׂ לָ֔הּ אֶת־נִדְר֖וֹ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נָדָ֑ר וְהִיא֙ לֹא־יָדְעָ֣ה אִ֔ישׁ וַתְּהִי־חֹ֖ק בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Judges Jdg 11:39 Und nach zwei Monaten kam sie wieder zu ihrem Vater. Und er tat ihr, wie er gelobt hatte; und sie war nie eines Mannes schuldig geworden. Und es ward eine Gewohnheit in Israel,(dhs) Jdg 11:39 And it was so at the end of two months that she returned to her father, and he carried out his vow with her which he had vowed. She knew no man. And it became a custom in Israel(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:40 ============ Jdg 11:40 that the daughters of Israel went yearly to commemorate the daughter of Jephthah the Gileadite four days in the year.(nas) Jdg 11:40 ἀπὸ ἡμερῶν εἰς ἡμέρας ἐπορεύοντο θυγατέρες Ισραηλ θρηνεῖν τὴν θυγατέρα Ιεφθαε Γαλααδ ἐπὶ τέσσαρας ἡμέρας ἐν τῷ ἐνιαυτῷ (lxx) Jdg 11:40 ut post anni circulum conveniant in unum filiæ Israël, et plangant filiam Jephte Galaaditæ diebus quatuor.(vulgate) 40 ׃11 מִיָּמִ֣ים ׀ יָמִ֗ימָה תֵּלַ֙כְנָה֙ בְּנ֣וֹת יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לְתַנּ֕וֹת לְבַת־יִפְתָּ֖ח הַגִּלְעָדִ֑י אַרְבַּ֥עַת יָמִ֖ים בַּשָּׁנָֽה׃ ס Judges Jdg 11:40 daß die Töchter Israel jährlich hingehen, zu klagen um die Tochter Jephthahs, des Gileaditers, des Jahres vier Tage.(dhs) Jdg 11:40 that the daughters of Israel went four days each year to lament the daughter of Jephthah the Gileadite.(nkjv) ======= Judges 12:1 ============ top of the page
