Today's Date: Job 25:6 How much less man, who is a maggot, And a son of man, who is a worm?"(nkjv) ======= Job 26:1 ============ Job 26:1 Then Job responded,(nas) Job 26:1 ὑπολαβὼν δὲ Ιωβ λέγει (lxx) Job 26:1 Respondens autem Job dixit:(vulgate) 1 ׃26 וַיַּ֥עַן אִיּ֗וֹב וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ Job Job 26:1 Hiob antwortete und sprach:(dhs) Job 26:1 But Job answered and said:(nkjv) ======= Job 26:2 ============ Job 26:2 "What a help you are to the weak! How you have saved the arm without strength!(nas) Job 26:2 τίνι πρόσκεισαι ἢ τίνι μέλλεις βοηθεῖν πότερον οὐχ ᾧ πολλὴ ἰσχὺς καὶ ᾧ βραχίων κραταιός ἐστιν (lxx) Job 26:2 [Cujus adjutor es? numquid imbecillis? et sustentas brachium ejus qui non est fortis?(vulgate) 2 ׃26 מֶה־עָזַ֥רְתָּ לְלֹא־כֹ֑חַ ה֝וֹשַׁ֗עְתָּ זְר֣וֹעַ לֹא־עֹֽז׃ Job Job 26:2 Wie stehest du dem bei, der keine Kraft hat, hilfst dem, der keine Stärke in den Armen hat!(dhs) Job 26:2 "How have you helped him who is without power? How have you saved the arm that has no strength?(nkjv) ======= Job 26:3 ============ Job 26:3 "What counsel you have given to one without wisdom! What helpful insight you have abundantly provided!(nas) Job 26:3 τίνι συμβεβούλευσαι οὐχ ᾧ πᾶσα σοφία ἢ τίνι ἐπακολουθήσεις οὐχ ᾧ μεγίστη δύναμις (lxx) Job 26:3 Cui dedisti consilium? forsitan illi qui non habet sapientiam: et prudentiam tuam ostendisti plurimam.(vulgate) 3 ׃26 מַה־יָּ֭עַצְתָּ לְלֹ֣א חָכְמָ֑ה וְ֝תוּשִׁיָּ֗ה לָרֹ֥ב הוֹדָֽעְתָּ׃ Job Job 26:3 Wie gibst du Rat dem, der keine Weisheit hat, und tust kund Verstandes die Fülle!(dhs) Job 26:3 How have you counseled one who has no wisdom? And how have you declared sound advice to many?(nkjv) ======= Job 26:4 ============ Job 26:4 "To whom have you uttered words? And whose spirit was expressed through you?(nas) Job 26:4 τίνι ἀνήγγειλας ῥήματα πνοὴ δὲ τίνος ἐστὶν ἡ ἐξελθοῦσα ἐκ σοῦ (lxx) Job 26:4 Quem docere voluisti? nonne eum qui fecit spiramentum?(vulgate) 4 ׃26 אֶת־מִ֭י הִגַּ֣דְתָּ מִלִּ֑ין וְנִשְׁמַת־מִ֝י יָצְאָ֥ה מִמֶּֽךָּ׃ Job Job 26:4 Zu wem redest du? und wes Odem geht von dir aus?(dhs) Job 26:4 To whom have you uttered words? And whose spirit came from you?(nkjv) ======= Job 26:5 ============ Job 26:5 "The departed spirits tremble Under the waters and their inhabitants.(nas) Job 26:5 μὴ γίγαντες μαιωθήσονται ὑποκάτωθεν ὕδατος καὶ τῶν γειτόνων αὐτοῦ (lxx) Job 26:5 Ecce gigantes gemunt sub aquis, et qui habitant cum eis.(vulgate) 5 ׃26 הָרְפָאִ֥ים יְחוֹלָ֑לוּ מִתַּ֥חַת מַ֝֗יִם וְשֹׁכְנֵיהֶֽם׃ Job Job 26:5 Die Toten ängsten sich tief unter den Wassern und denen, die darin wohnen.(dhs) Job 26:5 "The dead tremble, Those under the waters and those inhabiting them.(nkjv) ======= Job 26:6 ============ Job 26:6 "Naked is Sheol before Him, And Abaddon has no covering.(nas) Job 26:6 γυμνὸς ὁ ᾅδης ἐπώπιον αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν περιβόλαιον τῇ ἀπωλείᾳ (lxx) Job 26:6 Nudus est infernus coram illo, et nullum est operimentum perditioni.(vulgate) 6 ׃26 עָר֣וֹם שְׁא֣וֹל נֶגְדּ֑וֹ וְאֵ֥ין כְּ֝ס֗וּת לָֽאֲבַדּֽוֹן׃ Job Job 26:6 Das Grab ist aufgedeckt vor ihm, und der Abgrund hat keine Decke.(dhs) Job 26:6 Sheol is naked before Him, And Destruction has no covering.(nkjv) ======= Job 26:7 ============ Job 26:7 "He stretches out the north over empty space And hangs the earth on nothing.(nas) Job 26:7 ἐκτείνων βορέαν ἐπ᾽ οὐδέν κρεμάζων γῆν ἐπὶ οὐδενός (lxx) Job 26:7 Qui extendit aquilonem super vacuum, et appendit terram super nihilum.(vulgate) 7 ׃26 נֹטֶ֣ה צָפ֣וֹן עַל־תֹּ֑הוּ תֹּ֥לֶה אֶ֝֗רֶץ עַל־בְּלִי־מָֽה׃ Job Job 26:7 Er breitet aus die Mitternacht über das Leere und hängt die Erde an nichts.(dhs) Job 26:7 He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing.(nkjv) ======= Job 26:8 ============ Job 26:8 "He wraps up the waters in His clouds, And the cloud does not burst under them.(nas) Job 26:8 δεσμεύων ὕδωρ ἐν νεφέλαις αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἐρράγη νέφος ὑποκάτω αὐτοῦ (lxx) Job 26:8 Qui ligat aquas in nubibus suis, ut non erumpant pariter deorsum.(vulgate) 8 ׃26 צֹרֵֽר־מַ֥יִם בְּעָבָ֑יו וְלֹא־נִבְקַ֖ע עָנָ֣ן תַּחְתָּֽם׃ Job Job 26:8 Er faßt das Wasser zusammen in seine Wolken, und die Wolken zerreißen darunter nicht.(dhs) Job 26:8 He binds up the water in His thick clouds, Yet the clouds are not broken under it.(nkjv) ======= Job 26:9 ============ Job 26:9 "He obscures the face of the full moon And spreads His cloud over it.(nas) Job 26:9 ὁ κρατῶν πρόσωπον θρόνου ἐκπετάζων ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν νέφος αὐτοῦ (lxx) Job 26:9 Qui tenet vultum solii sui, et expandit super illud nebulam suam.(vulgate) 9 ׃26 מְאַחֵ֥ז פְּנֵי־כִסֵּ֑ה פַּרְשֵׁ֖ז עָלָ֣יו עֲנָנֽוֹ׃ Job Job 26:9 Er verhüllt seinen Stuhl und breitet seine Wolken davor.(dhs) Job 26:9 He covers the face of His throne, And spreads His cloud over it.(nkjv) ======= Job 26:10 ============ Job 26:10 "He has inscribed a circle on the surface of the waters At the boundary of light and darkness.(nas) Job 26:10 πρόσταγμα ἐγύρωσεν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον ὕδατος μέχρι συντελείας φωτὸς μετὰ σκότους (lxx) Job 26:10 Terminum circumdedit aquis, usque dum finiantur lux et tenebræ.(vulgate) 10 ׃26 חֹֽק־חָ֭ג עַל־פְּנֵי־מָ֑יִם עַד־תַּכְלִ֖ית א֣וֹר עִם־חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃ Job Job 26:10 Er hat um das Wasser ein Ziel gesetzt, bis wo Licht und Finsternis sich scheiden.(dhs) Job 26:10 He drew a circular horizon on the face of the waters, At the boundary of light and darkness.(nkjv) ======= Job 26:11 ============ Job 26:11 "The pillars of heaven tremble And are amazed at His rebuke.(nas) Job 26:11 στῦλοι οὐρανοῦ ἐπετάσθησαν καὶ ἐξέστησαν ἀπὸ τῆς ἐπιτιμήσεως αὐτοῦ (lxx) Job 26:11 Columnæ cæli contremiscunt, et pavent ad nutum ejus.(vulgate) 11 ׃26 עַמּוּדֵ֣י שָׁמַ֣יִם יְרוֹפָ֑פוּ וְ֝יִתְמְה֗וּ מִגַּעֲרָתֽוֹ׃ Job Job 26:11 Die Säulen des Himmels zittern und entsetzen sich vor seinem Schelten.(dhs) Job 26:11 The pillars of heaven tremble, And are astonished at His rebuke.(nkjv) ======= Job 26:12 ============ Job 26:12 "He quieted the sea with His power, And by His understanding He shattered Rahab.(nas) Job 26:12 ἰσχύι κατέπαυσεν τὴν θάλασσαν ἐπιστήμῃ δὲ ἔτρωσε τὸ κῆτος (lxx) Job 26:12 In fortitudine illius repente maria congregata sunt, et prudentia ejus percussit superbum.(vulgate) 12 ׃26 בְּ֭כֹחוֹ רָגַ֣ע הַיָּ֑ם *ובתובנתו **וּ֝בִתְבוּנָת֗וֹ מָ֣חַץ רָֽהַב׃ Job Job 26:12 Von seiner Kraft wird das Meer plötzlich ungestüm, und durch seinen Verstand zerschmettert er Rahab.(dhs) Job 26:12 He stirs up the sea with His power, And by His understanding He breaks up the storm.(nkjv) ======= Job 26:13 ============ Job 26:13 "By His breath the heavens are cleared; His hand has pierced the fleeing serpent.(nas) Job 26:13 κλεῖθρα δὲ οὐρανοῦ δεδοίκασιν αὐτόν προστάγματι δὲ ἐθανάτωσεν δράκοντα ἀποστάτην (lxx) Job 26:13 Spiritus ejus ornavit cælos, et obstetricante manu ejus, eductus est coluber tortuosus.(vulgate) 13 ׃26 בְּ֭רוּחוֹ שָׁמַ֣יִם שִׁפְרָ֑ה חֹֽלֲלָ֥ה יָ֝ד֗וֹ נָחָ֥שׁ בָּרִֽיחַ׃ Job Job 26:13 Am Himmel wird's schön durch seinen Wind, und seine Hand durchbohrt die flüchtige Schlange.(dhs) Job 26:13 By His Spirit He adorned the heavens; His hand pierced the fleeing serpent.(nkjv) ======= Job 26:14 ============ Job 26:14 "Behold, these are the fringes of His ways; And how faint a word we hear of Him! But His mighty thunder, who can understand?"(nas) Job 26:14 ἰδοὺ ταῦτα μέρη ὁδοῦ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπὶ ἰκμάδα λόγου ἀκουσόμεθα ἐν αὐτῷ σθένος δὲ βροντῆς αὐτοῦ τίς οἶδεν ὁπότε ποιήσει (lxx) Job 26:14 Ecce hæc ex parte dicta sunt viarum ejus: et cum vix parvam stillam sermonis ejus audierimus, quis poterit tonitruum magnitudinis illius intueri?](vulgate) 14 ׃26 הֶן־אֵ֤לֶּה ׀ קְצ֬וֹת *דרכו **דְּרָכָ֗יו וּמַה־שֵּׁ֣מֶץ דָּ֭בָר נִשְׁמַע־בּ֑וֹ וְרַ֥עַם *גבורתו **גְּ֝בוּרוֹתָ֗יו מִ֣י יִתְבּוֹנָֽן׃ ס Job Job 26:14 Siehe, also geht sein Tun, und nur ein geringes Wörtlein davon haben wir vernommen. Wer will aber den Donner seiner Macht verstehen?(dhs) Job 26:14 Indeed these are the mere edges of His ways, And how small a whisper we hear of Him!
