Today's Date: Job 33:33 If not, listen to me; Hold your peace, and I will teach you wisdom."(nkjv) ======= Job 34:1 ============ Job 34:1 Then Elihu continued and said,(nas) Job 34:1 ὑπολαβὼν δὲ Ελιους λέγει (lxx) Job 34:1 Pronuntians itaque Eliu, etiam hæc locutus est:(vulgate) 1 ׃34 וַיַּ֥עַן אֱלִיה֗וּא וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ Job Job 34:1 Und es hob an Elihu und sprach:(dhs) Job 34:1 Elihu further answered and said:(nkjv) ======= Job 34:2 ============ Job 34:2 "Hear my words, you wise men, And listen to me, you who know.(nas) Job 34:2 ἀκούσατέ μου σοφοί ἐπιστάμενοι ἐνωτίζεσθε τὸ καλόν (lxx) Job 34:2 [Audite, sapientes, verba mea: et eruditi, auscultate me.(vulgate) 2 ׃34 שִׁמְע֣וּ חֲכָמִ֣ים מִלָּ֑י וְ֝יֹדְעִ֗ים הַאֲזִ֥ינוּ לִֽי׃ Job Job 34:2 Hört, ihr Weisen, meine Rede, und ihr Verständigen, merkt auf mich!(dhs) Job 34:2 "Hear my words, you wise men; Give ear to me, you who have knowledge.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:3 ============ Job 34:3 "For the ear tests words As the palate tastes food.(nas) Job 34:3 ὅτι οὖς λόγους δοκιμάζει καὶ λάρυγξ γεύεται βρῶσιν (lxx) Job 34:3 Auris enim verba probat, et guttur escas gustu dijudicat.(vulgate) 3 ׃34 כִּי־אֹ֭זֶן מִלִּ֣ין תִּבְחָ֑ן וְ֝חֵ֗ךְ יִטְעַ֥ם לֶאֱכֹֽל׃ Job Job 34:3 Denn das Ohr prüft die Rede, und der Mund schmeckt die Speise.(dhs) Job 34:3 For the ear tests words As the palate tastes food.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:4 ============ Job 34:4 "Let us choose for ourselves what is right; Let us know among ourselves what is good.(nas) Job 34:4 κρίσιν ἑλώμεθα ἑαυτοῖς γνῶμεν ἀνὰ μέσον ἑαυτῶν ὅ τι καλόν (lxx) Job 34:4 Judicium eligamus nobis, et inter nos videamus quid sit melius.(vulgate) 4 ׃34 מִשְׁפָּ֥ט נִבְחֲרָה־לָּ֑נוּ נֵדְעָ֖ה בֵינֵ֣ינוּ מַה־טּֽוֹב׃ Job Job 34:4 Laßt uns ein Urteil finden, daß wir erkennen unter uns, was gut sei.(dhs) Job 34:4 Let us choose justice for ourselves; Let us know among ourselves what is good.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:5 ============ Job 34:5 "For Job has said, 'I am righteous, But God has taken away my right;(nas) Job 34:5 ὅτι εἴρηκεν Ιωβ δίκαιός εἰμι ὁ κύριος ἀπήλλαξέν μου τὸ κρίμα (lxx) Job 34:5 Quia dixit Job: Justus sum, et Deus subvertit judicium meum.(vulgate) 5 ׃34 כִּֽי־אָ֭מַר אִיּ֣וֹב צָדַ֑קְתִּי וְ֝אֵ֗ל הֵסִ֥יר מִשְׁפָּטִֽי׃ Job Job 34:5 Denn Hiob hat gesagt: "Ich bin gerecht, und Gott weigert mir mein Recht;(dhs) Job 34:5 "For Job has said, 'I am righteous, But God has taken away my justice;(nkjv) ======= Job 34:6 ============ Job 34:6 Should I lie concerning my right? My wound is incurable, though I am without transgression.'(nas) Job 34:6 ἐψεύσατο δὲ τῷ κρίματί μου βίαιον τὸ βέλος μου ἄνευ ἀδικίας (lxx) Job 34:6 In judicando enim me mendacium est: violenta sagitta mea absque ullo peccato.(vulgate) 6 ׃34 עַל־מִשְׁפָּטִ֥י אֲכַזֵּ֑ב אָנ֖וּשׁ חִצִּ֣י בְלִי־פָֽשַׁע׃ Job Job 34:6 ich muß lügen, ob ich wohl recht habe, und bin gequält von meinen Pfeilen, ob ich wohl nichts verschuldet habe."(dhs) Job 34:6 Should I lie concerning my right? My wound is incurable, though I am without transgression.'(nkjv) ======= Job 34:7 ============ Job 34:7 "What man is like Job, Who drinks up derision like water,(nas) Job 34:7 τίς ἀνὴρ ὥσπερ Ιωβ πίνων μυκτηρισμὸν ὥσπερ ὕδωρ (lxx) Job 34:7 Quis est vir ut est Job, qui bibit subsannationem quasi aquam:(vulgate) 7 ׃34 מִי־גֶ֥בֶר כְּאִיּ֑וֹב יִֽשְׁתֶּה־לַּ֥עַג כַּמָּֽיִם׃ Job Job 34:7 Wer ist ein solcher Hiob, der da Spötterei trinkt wie Wasser(dhs) Job 34:7 What man is like Job, Who drinks scorn like water,(nkjv) ======= Job 34:8 ============ Job 34:8 Who goes in company with the workers of iniquity, And walks with wicked men?(nas) Job 34:8 οὐχ ἁμαρτὼν οὐδὲ ἀσεβήσας ἢ ὁδοῦ κοινωνήσας μετὰ ποιούντων τὰ ἄνομα τοῦ πορευθῆναι μετὰ ἀσεβῶν (lxx) Job 34:8 qui graditur cum operantibus iniquitatem, et ambulat cum viris impiis?(vulgate) 8 ׃34 וְאָרַ֣ח לְ֭חֶבְרָה עִם־פֹּ֣עֲלֵי אָ֑וֶן וְ֝לָלֶ֗כֶת עִם־אַנְשֵׁי־רֶֽשַׁע׃ Job Job 34:8 und auf dem Wege geht mit den Übeltätern und wandelt mit gottlosen Leuten?(dhs) Job 34:8 Who goes in company with the workers of iniquity, And walks with wicked men?(nkjv) ======= Job 34:9 ============ Job 34:9 "For he has said, 'It profits a man nothing When he is pleased with God.'(nas) Job 34:9 μὴ γὰρ εἴπῃς ὅτι οὐκ ἔσται ἐπισκοπὴ ἀνδρός καὶ ἐπισκοπὴ αὐτῷ παρὰ κυρίου (lxx) Job 34:9 Dixit enim: Non placebit vir Deo, etiam si cucurrerit cum eo.(vulgate) 9 ׃34 כִּֽי־אָ֭מַר לֹ֣א יִסְכָּן־גָּ֑בֶר בִּ֝רְצֹת֗וֹ עִם־אֱלֹהִֽים׃ Job Job 34:9 Denn er hat gesagt: "Wenn jemand schon fromm ist, so gilt er doch nichts bei Gott."(dhs) Job 34:9 For he has said, 'It profits a man nothing That he should delight in God.'(nkjv) ======= Job 34:10 ============ Job 34:10 "Therefore, listen to me, you men of understanding. Far be it from God to do wickedness, And from the Almighty to do wrong.(nas) Job 34:10 διό συνετοὶ καρδίας ἀκούσατέ μου μή μοι εἴη ἔναντι κυρίου ἀσεβῆσαι καὶ ἔναντι παντοκράτορος ταράξαι τὸ δίκαιον (lxx) Job 34:10 Ideo, viri cordati, audite me: absit a Deo impietas, et ab Omnipotente iniquitas.(vulgate) 10 ׃34 לָכֵ֤ן ׀ אַ֥נֲשֵׁ֥י לֵבָ֗ב שִׁמְע֫וּ לִ֥י חָלִ֖לָה לָאֵ֥ל מֵרֶ֗שַׁע וְשַׁדַּ֥י מֵעָֽוֶל׃ Job Job 34:10 Darum hört mir zu, ihr weisen Leute: Es sei ferne, daß Gott sollte gottlos handeln und der Allmächtige ungerecht;(dhs) Job 34:10 "Therefore listen to me, you men of understanding: Far be it from God to do wickedness, And from the Almighty to commit iniquity.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:11 ============ Job 34:11 "For He pays a man according to his work, And makes him find it according to his way.(nas) Job 34:11 ἀλλὰ ἀποδιδοῖ ἀνθρώπῳ καθὰ ποιεῖ ἕκαστος αὐτῶν καὶ ἐν τρίβῳ ἀνδρὸς εὑρήσει αὐτόν (lxx) Job 34:11 Opus enim hominis reddet ei, et juxta vias singulorum restituet eis.(vulgate) 11 ׃34 כִּ֤י פֹ֣עַל אָ֭דָם יְשַׁלֶּם־ל֑וֹ וּֽכְאֹ֥רַח אִ֝֗ישׁ יַמְצִאֶֽנּוּ׃ Job Job 34:11 sondern er vergilt dem Menschen, darnach er verdient hat, und trifft einen jeglichen nach seinem Tun.(dhs) Job 34:11 For He repays man according to his work, And makes man to find a reward according to his way.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:12 ============ Job 34:12 "Surely, God will not act wickedly, And the Almighty will not pervert justice.(nas) Job 34:12 οἴῃ δὲ τὸν κύριον ἄτοπα ποιήσειν ἢ ὁ παντοκράτωρ ταράξει κρίσιν (lxx) Job 34:12 Vere enim Deus non condemnabit frustra, nec Omnipotens subvertet judicium.(vulgate) 12 ׃34 אַף־אָמְנָ֗ם אֵ֥ל לֹֽא־יַרְשִׁ֑יעַ וְ֝שַׁדַּ֗י לֹֽא־יְעַוֵּ֥ת מִשְׁפָּֽט׃ Job Job 34:12 Ohne zweifel, Gott verdammt niemand mit Unrecht, und der Allmächtige beugt das Recht nicht.(dhs) Job 34:12 Surely God will never do wickedly, Nor will the Almighty pervert justice.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:13 ============ Job 34:13 "Who gave Him authority over the earth? And who has laid on Him the whole world?(nas) Job 34:13 ὃς ἐποίησεν τὴν γῆν τίς δέ ἐστιν ὁ ποιῶν τὴν ὑπ᾽ οὐρανὸν καὶ τὰ ἐνόντα πάντα (lxx) Job 34:13 Quem constituit alium super terram? aut quem posuit super orbem quem fabricatus est?(vulgate) 13 ׃34 מִֽי־פָקַ֣ד עָלָ֣יו אָ֑רְצָה וּמִ֥י שָׂ֝֗ם תֵּבֵ֥ל כֻּלָּֽהּ׃ Job Job 34:13 Wer hat, was auf Erden ist, verordnet, und wer hat den ganzen Erdboden gesetzt?(dhs) Job 34:13 Who gave Him charge over the earth? Or who appointed Him over the whole world?(nkjv) ======= Job 34:14 ============ Job 34:14 "If He should determine to do so, If He should gather to Himself His spirit and His breath,(nas) Job 34:14 εἰ γὰρ βούλοιτο συνέχειν καὶ τὸ πνεῦμα παρ᾽ αὐτῷ κατασχεῖν (lxx) Job 34:14 Si direxerit ad eum cor suum, spiritum illius et flatum ad se trahet.(vulgate) 14 ׃34 אִם־יָשִׂ֣ים אֵלָ֣יו לִבּ֑וֹ רוּח֥וֹ וְ֝נִשְׁמָת֗וֹ אֵלָ֥יו יֶאֱסֹֽף׃ Job Job 34:14 So er nun an sich dächte, seinen Geist und Odem an sich zöge,(dhs) Job 34:14 If He should set His heart on it, If He should gather to Himself His Spirit and His breath,(nkjv) ======= Job 34:15 ============ Job 34:15 All flesh would perish together, And man would return to dust.(nas) Job 34:15 τελευτήσει πᾶσα σὰρξ ὁμοθυμαδόν πᾶς δὲ βροτὸς εἰς γῆν ἀπελεύσεται ὅθεν καὶ ἐπλάσθη (lxx) Job 34:15 Deficiet omnis caro simul, et homo in cinerem revertetur.(vulgate) 15 ׃34 יִגְוַ֣ע כָּל־בָּשָׂ֣ר יָ֑חַד וְ֝אָדָ֗ם עַל־עָפָ֥ר יָשֽׁוּב׃ Job Job 34:15 so würde alles Fleisch miteinander vergehen, und der Mensch würde wieder zu Staub werden.(dhs) Job 34:15 All flesh would perish together, And man would return to dust.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:16 ============ Job 34:16 "But if you have understanding, hear this; Listen to the sound of my words.(nas) Job 34:16 εἰ δὲ μὴ νουθετῇ ἄκουε ταῦτα ἐνωτίζου φωνὴν ῥημάτων (lxx) Job 34:16 Si habes ergo intellectum, audi quod dicitur, et ausculta vocem eloquii mei:(vulgate) 16 ׃34 וְאִם־בִּ֥ינָה שִׁמְעָה־זֹּ֑את הַ֝אֲזִ֗ינָה לְק֣וֹל מִלָּֽי׃ Job Job 34:16 Hast du nun Verstand, so höre das und merke auf die Stimme meiner Reden.(dhs) Job 34:16 "If you have understanding, hear this; Listen to the sound of my words:(nkjv) ======= Job 34:17 ============ Job 34:17 "Shall one who hates justice rule? And will you condemn the righteous mighty One,(nas) Job 34:17 ἰδὲ σὺ τὸν μισοῦντα ἄνομα καὶ τὸν ὀλλύντα τοὺς πονηροὺς ὄντα αἰώνιον δίκαιον (lxx) Job 34:17 numquid qui non amat judicium sanari potest? et quomodo tu eum qui justus est in tantum condemnas?(vulgate) 17 ׃34 הַאַ֬ף שׂוֹנֵ֣א מִשְׁפָּ֣ט יַחֲב֑וֹשׁ וְאִם־צַדִּ֖יק כַּבִּ֣יר תַּרְשִֽׁיעַ׃ Job Job 34:17 Kann auch, der das Recht haßt regieren? Oder willst du den, der gerecht und mächtig ist, verdammen?(dhs) Job 34:17 Should one who hates justice govern? Will you condemn Him who is most just?(nkjv) ======= Job 34:18 ============ Job 34:18 Who says to a king, 'Worthless one, 'To nobles, 'Wicked ones';(nas) Job 34:18 ἀσεβὴς ὁ λέγων βασιλεῖ παρανομεῖς ἀσεβέστατε τοῖς ἄρχουσιν (lxx) Job 34:18 Qui dicit regi: Apostata; qui vocat duces impios;(vulgate) 18 ׃34 הַאֲמֹ֣ר לְמֶ֣לֶךְ בְּלִיָּ֑עַל רָ֝שָׁ֗ע אֶל־נְדִיבִֽים׃ Job Job 34:18 Sollte einer zum König sagen: "Du heilloser Mann!" und zu den Fürsten: "Ihr Gottlosen!"?(dhs) Job 34:18 Is it fitting to say to a king, 'You are worthless,' And to nobles, 'You are wicked'?(nkjv) ======= Job 34:19 ============ Job 34:19 Who shows no partiality to princes Nor regards the rich above the poor, For they all are the work of His hands?(nas) Job 34:19 ὃς οὐκ ἐπῃσχύνθη πρόσωπον ἐντίμου οὐδὲ οἶδεν τιμὴν θέσθαι ἁδροῖς θαυμασθῆναι πρόσωπα αὐτῶν (lxx) Job 34:19 qui non accipit personas principum, nec cognovit tyrannum cum disceptaret contra pauperem: opus enim manuum ejus sunt universi.(vulgate) 19 ׃34 אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹֽא־נָשָׂ֨א ׀ פְּנֵ֥י שָׂרִ֗ים וְלֹ֣א נִכַּר־שׁ֭וֹעַ לִפְנֵי־דָ֑ל כִּֽי־מַעֲשֵׂ֖ה יָדָ֣יו כֻּלָּֽם׃ Job Job 34:19 Und er sieht nicht an die Person der Fürsten und kennt den Herrlichen nicht mehr als den Armen; denn sie sind alle seiner Hände Werk.(dhs) Job 34:19 Yet He is not partial to princes, Nor does He regard the rich more than the poor; For they are all the work of His hands.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:20 ============ Job 34:20 "In a moment they die, and at midnight People are shaken and pass away, And the mighty are taken away without a hand.(nas) Job 34:20 κενὰ δὲ αὐτοῖς ἀποβήσεται τὸ κεκραγέναι καὶ δεῖσθαι ἀνδρός ἐχρήσαντο γὰρ παρανόμως ἐκκλινομένων ἀδυνάτων (lxx) Job 34:20 Subito morientur, et in media nocte turbabuntur populi: et pertransibunt, et auferent violentum absque manu.(vulgate) 20 ׃34 רֶ֤גַע ׀ יָמֻתוּ֮ וַחֲצ֢וֹת לָ֥יְלָה יְגֹעֲשׁ֣וּ עָ֣ם וְיַעֲבֹ֑רוּ וְיָסִ֥ירוּ אַ֝בִּ֗יר לֹ֣א בְיָֽד׃ Job Job 34:20 Plötzlich müssen die Leute sterben und zu Mitternacht erschrecken und vergehen; die Mächtigen werden weggenommen nicht durch Menschenhand.(dhs) Job 34:20 In a moment they die, in the middle of the night; The people are shaken and pass away; The mighty are taken away without a hand.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:21 ============ Job 34:21 "For His eyes are upon the ways of a man, And He sees all his steps.(nas) Job 34:21 αὐτὸς γὰρ ὁρατής ἐστιν ἔργων ἀνθρώπων λέληθεν δὲ αὐτὸν οὐδὲν ὧν πράσσουσιν (lxx) Job 34:21 Oculi enim ejus super vias hominum, et omnes gressus eorum considerat.(vulgate) 21 ׃34 כִּי־עֵ֭ינָיו עַל־דַּרְכֵי־אִ֑ישׁ וְֽכָל־צְעָדָ֥יו יִרְאֶֽה׃ Job Job 34:21 Denn seine Augen sehen auf eines jeglichen Wege, und er schaut alle ihre Gänge.(dhs) Job 34:21 "For His eyes are on the ways of man, And He sees all his steps.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:22 ============ Job 34:22 "There is no darkness or deep shadow Where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.(nas) Job 34:22 οὐδὲ ἔσται τόπος τοῦ κρυβῆναι τοὺς ποιοῦντας τὰ ἄνομα (lxx) Job 34:22 Non sunt tenebræ, et non est umbra mortis, ut abscondantur ibi qui operantur iniquitatem,(vulgate) 22 ׃34 אֵֽין־חֹ֭שֶׁךְ וְאֵ֣ין צַלְמָ֑וֶת לְהִסָּ֥תֶר שָׁ֝֗ם פֹּ֣עֲלֵי אָֽוֶן׃ Job Job 34:22 Es ist keine Finsternis noch Dunkel, daß sich da möchten verbergen die Übeltäter.(dhs) Job 34:22 There is no darkness nor shadow of death Where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:23 ============ Job 34:23 "For He does not need to consider a man further, That he should go before God in judgment.(nas) Job 34:23 ὅτι οὐκ ἐπ᾽ ἄνδρα θήσει ἔτι ὁ γὰρ κύριος πάντας ἐφορᾷ (lxx) Job 34:23 neque enim ultra in hominis potestate est, ut veniat ad Deum in judicium.(vulgate) 23 ׃34 כִּ֤י לֹ֣א עַל־אִ֭ישׁ יָשִׂ֣ים ע֑וֹד לַהֲלֹ֥ךְ אֶל־אֵ֝֗ל בַּמִּשְׁפָּֽט׃ Job Job 34:23 Denn er darf auf den Menschen nicht erst lange achten, daß er vor Gott ins Gericht komme.(dhs) Job 34:23 For He need not further consider a man, That he should go before God in judgment.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:24 ============ Job 34:24 "He breaks in pieces mighty men without inquiry, And sets others in their place.(nas) Job 34:24 ὁ καταλαμβάνων ἀνεξιχνίαστα ἔνδοξά τε καὶ ἐξαίσια ὧν οὐκ ἔστιν ἀριθμός (lxx) Job 34:24 Conteret multos, et innumerabiles, et stare faciet alios pro eis.(vulgate) 24 ׃34 יָרֹ֣עַ כַּבִּירִ֣ים לֹא־חֵ֑קֶר וַיַּעֲמֵ֖ד אֲחֵרִ֣ים תַּחְתָּֽם׃ Job Job 34:24 Er bringt die Stolzen um, ohne erst zu forschen, und stellt andere an ihre Statt:(dhs) Job 34:24 He breaks in pieces mighty men without inquiry, And sets others in their place.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:25 ============ Job 34:25 "Therefore He knows their works, And He overthrows them in the night, And they are crushed.(nas) Job 34:25 ὁ γνωρίζων αὐτῶν τὰ ἔργα καὶ στρέψει νύκτα καὶ ταπεινωθήσονται (lxx) Job 34:25 Novit enim opera eorum, et idcirco inducet noctem, et conterentur.(vulgate) 25 ׃34 לָכֵ֗ן יַ֭כִּיר מַעְבָּֽדֵיהֶ֑ם וְהָ֥פַךְ לַ֝֗יְלָה וְיִדַּכָּֽאוּ׃ Job Job 34:25 darum daß er kennt ihre Werke und kehrt sie um des Nachts, daß sie zerschlagen werden.(dhs) Job 34:25 Therefore he knows their works; He overthrows them in the night, And they are crushed.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:26 ============ Job 34:26 "He strikes them like the wicked In a public place,(nas) Job 34:26 ἔσβεσεν δὲ ἀσεβεῖς ὁρατοὶ δὲ ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ (lxx) Job 34:26 Quasi impios percussit eos in loco videntium:(vulgate) 26 ׃34 תַּֽחַת־רְשָׁעִ֥ים סְפָקָ֗ם בִּמְק֥וֹם רֹאִֽים׃ Job Job 34:26 Er straft sie ab wie die Gottlosen an einem Ort, da man es sieht:(dhs) Job 34:26 He strikes them as wicked men In the open sight of others,(nkjv) ======= Job 34:27 ============ Job 34:27 Because they turned aside from following Him, And had no regard for any of His ways;(nas) Job 34:27 ὅτι ἐξέκλιναν ἐκ νόμου θεοῦ δικαιώματα δὲ αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἐπέγνωσαν (lxx) Job 34:27 qui quasi de industria recesserunt ab eo, et omnes vias ejus intelligere noluerunt:(vulgate) 27 ׃34 אֲשֶׁ֣ר עַל־כֵּ֭ן סָ֣רוּ מֵֽאַחֲרָ֑יו וְכָל־דְּ֝רָכָ֗יו לֹ֣א הִשְׂכִּֽילוּ׃ Job Job 34:27 darum daß sie von ihm weggewichen sind und verstanden seiner Wege keinen,(dhs) Job 34:27 Because they turned back from Him, And would not consider any of His ways,(nkjv) ======= Job 34:28 ============ Job 34:28 So that they caused the cry of the poor to come to Him, And that He might hear the cry of the afflicted--(nas) Job 34:28 τοῦ ἐπαγαγεῖν ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν κραυγὴν πένητος καὶ κραυγὴν πτωχῶν εἰσακούσεται (lxx) Job 34:28 ut pervenire facerent ad eum clamorem egeni, et audiret vocem pauperum.(vulgate) 28 ׃34 לְהָבִ֣יא עָ֭לָיו צַֽעֲקַת־דָּ֑ל וְצַעֲקַ֖ת עֲנִיִּ֣ים יִשְׁמָֽע׃ Job Job 34:28 daß das Schreien der Armen mußte vor ihn kommen und er das Schreien der Elenden hörte.(dhs) Job 34:28 So that they caused the cry of the poor to come to Him; For He hears the cry of the afflicted.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:29 ============ Job 34:29 When He keeps quiet, who then can condemn? Denn du verwirfst alles; du hast zu wählen, und nicht ich. Weißt du nun was, so sage an.(dhs) Job 34:33 Should He repay it according to your terms, Just because you disavow it?
