Today's Date: ======= Psalm 39:1 ============ Psa 39:1 I said, "I will guard my ways That I may not sin with my tongue; I will guard my mouth as with a muzzle While the wicked are in my presence."(nas) Psa 39:1 εἰς τὸ τέλος τῷ Ιδιθουν ᾠδὴ τῷ Δαυιδ (lxx) Psa 39:1 [Vulgate 38:1] pro victoria Idithun canticum David [Vulgate 38:2] dixi custodiam vias meas ne peccem in lingua mea custodiam os meum silentio donec est impius contra me(vulgate) 1 ׃39 לַמְנַצֵּ֥חַ *לידיתון **לִֽידוּת֗וּן מִזְמ֥וֹר לְדָוִֽד׃ 2 ׃39 אָמַ֗רְתִּי אֶֽשְׁמְרָ֣ה דְרָכַי֮ מֵחֲט֢וֹא בִלְשׁ֫וֹנִ֥י אֶשְׁמְרָ֥ה לְפִ֥י מַחְס֑וֹם בְּעֹ֖ד רָשָׁ֣ע לְנֶגְדִּֽי׃ Psalms Psa 39:1 (Ein Psa lm Davids, vorzusingen, für Jeduthun.) Ich habe mir vorgesetzt: Ich will mich hüten, daß ich nicht sündige mit meiner Zunge. Ich will meinen Mund zäumen, weil ich muß den Gottlosen vor mir sehen.(dhs) Psa 39:1 To the Chief Musician. I said, "I will guard my ways, Lest I sin with my tongue; I will restrain my mouth with a muzzle, While the wicked are before me."(nkjv) ======= Psalm 39:2 ============ Psa 39:2 I was mute and silent, I refrained even from good, And my sorrow grew worse.(nas) Psa 39:2 εἶπα φυλάξω τὰς ὁδούς μου τοῦ μὴ ἁμαρτάνειν ἐν γλώσσῃ μου ἐθέμην τῷ στόματί μου φυλακὴν ἐν τῷ συστῆναι τὸν ἁμαρτωλὸν ἐναντίον μου (lxx) Psa 39:2 [Vulgate 38:3] obmutui silentio tacui de bono et dolor meus conturbatus est(vulgate) 3 ׃39 נֶאֱלַ֣מְתִּי ד֭וּמִיָּה הֶחֱשֵׁ֣יתִי מִטּ֑וֹב וּכְאֵבִ֥י נֶעְכָּֽר׃ Psalms Psa 39:2 Ich bin verstummt und still und schweige der Freuden und muß mein Leid in mich fressen.(dhs) Psa 39:2 I was mute with silence, I held my peace even from good; And my sorrow was stirred up.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 39:3 ============ Psa 39:3 My heart was hot within me, While I was musing the fire burned; Then I spoke with my tongue:(nas) Psa 39:3 ἐκωφώθην καὶ ἐταπεινώθην καὶ ἐσίγησα ἐξ ἀγαθῶν καὶ τὸ ἄλγημά μου ἀνεκαινίσθη (lxx) Psa 39:3 [Vulgate 38:4] incaluit cor meum in medio mei in meditatione mea incensus sum igni(vulgate) 4 ׃39 חַם־לִבִּ֨י ׀ בְּקִרְבִּ֗י בַּהֲגִיגִ֥י תִבְעַר־אֵ֑שׁ דִּ֝בַּ֗רְתִּי בִּלְשֽׁוֹנִי׃ Psalms Psa 39:3 Mein Herz ist entbrannt in meinem Leibe, und wenn ich daran gedenke, werde ich entzündet; ich rede mit meiner Zunge.(dhs) Psa 39:3 My heart was hot within me; While I was musing, the fire burned. Then I spoke with my tongue:(nkjv) ======= Psalm 39:4 ============ Psa 39:4 "Lord, make me to know my end And what is the extent of my days; Let me know how transient I am.(nas) Psa 39:4 ἐθερμάνθη ἡ καρδία μου ἐντός μου καὶ ἐν τῇ μελέτῃ μου ἐκκαυθήσεται πῦρ ἐλάλησα ἐν γλώσσῃ μου (lxx) Psa 39:4 [Vulgate 38:5] locutus sum lingua mea ostende mihi Domine finem meum et mensuram dierum meorum quae sit ut sciam quid mihi desit(vulgate) 5 ׃39 הוֹדִ֘יעֵ֤נִי יְהוָ֨ה ׀ קִצִּ֗י וּמִדַּ֣ת יָמַ֣י מַה־הִ֑יא אֵ֝דְעָ֗ה מֶה־חָדֵ֥ל אָֽנִי׃ Psalms Psa 39:4 Aber, HERR, lehre mich doch, daß es ein Ende mit mir haben muß und mein Leben ein Ziel hat und ich davon muß.(dhs) Psa 39:4 "Lord, make me to know my end, And what is the measure of my days, That I may know how frail I am.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 39:5 ============ Psa 39:5 "Behold, You have made my days as handbreadths, And my lifetime as nothing in Your sight; Surely every man at his best is a mere breath. Selah.(nas) Psa 39:5 γνώρισόν μοι κύριε τὸ πέρας μου καὶ τὸν ἀριθμὸν τῶν ἡμερῶν μου τίς ἐστιν ἵνα γνῶ τί ὑστερῶ ἐγώ (lxx) Psa 39:5 [Vulgate 38:6] ecce breves posuisti dies meos et vita mea quasi non sit in conspectu tuo omnia enim vanitas omnis homo stans semper(vulgate) 6 ׃39 הִנֵּ֤ה טְפָח֨וֹת ׀ נָ֘תַ֤תָּה יָמַ֗י וְחֶלְדִּ֣י כְאַ֣יִן נֶגְדֶּ֑ךָ אַ֥ךְ כָּֽל־הֶ֥בֶל כָּל־אָ֝דָ֗ם נִצָּ֥ב סֶֽלָה׃ Psalms Psa 39:5 Siehe, meiner Tage sind einer Hand breit bei dir, und mein Leben ist wie nichts vor dir. Wie gar nichts sind alle Menschen, die doch so sicher leben! (Sela.)(dhs) Psa 39:5 Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, And my age is as nothing before You; Certainly every man at his best state is but vapor. Selah(nkjv) ======= Psalm 39:6 ============ Psa 39:6 "Surely every man walks about as a phantom; Surely they make an uproar for nothing; He amasses riches and does not know who will gather them.(nas) Psa 39:6 ἰδοὺ παλαιστὰς ἔθου τὰς ἡμέρας μου καὶ ἡ ὑπόστασίς μου ὡσεὶ οὐθὲν ἐνώπιόν σου πλὴν τὰ σύμπαντα ματαιότης πᾶς ἄνθρωπος ζῶν διάψαλμα (lxx) Psa 39:6 [Vulgate 38:7] tantum in imagine ambulat homo tantum frustra turbatur congregat et ignorat cui dimittat ea(vulgate) 7 ׃39 אַךְ־בְּצֶ֤לֶם ׀ יִֽתְהַלֶּךְ־אִ֗ישׁ אַךְ־הֶ֥בֶל יֶהֱמָ֑יוּן יִ֝צְבֹּ֗ר וְֽלֹא־יֵדַ֥ע מִי־אֹסְפָֽם׃ Psalms Psa 39:6 Sie gehen daher wie ein Schemen und machen sich viel vergebliche Unruhe; sie sammeln, und wissen nicht, wer es einnehmen wird.(dhs) Psa 39:6 Surely every man walks about like a shadow; Surely they busy themselves in vain; He heaps up riches, And does not know who will gather them.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 39:7 ============ Psa 39:7 "And now, Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in You.(nas) Psa 39:7 μέντοιγε ἐν εἰκόνι διαπορεύεται ἄνθρωπος πλὴν μάτην ταράσσονται θησαυρίζει καὶ οὐ γινώσκει τίνι συνάξει αὐτά (lxx) Psa 39:7 [Vulgate 38:8] nunc ergo quid expecto Domine praestolatio mea tu es(vulgate) 8 ׃39 וְעַתָּ֣ה מַה־קִוִּ֣יתִי אֲדֹנָ֑י תּ֝וֹחַלְתִּ֗י לְךָ֣ הִֽיא׃ Psalms Psa 39:7 Nun, HERR, wes soll ich mich trösten? Ich hoffe auf dich.(dhs) Psa 39:7 "And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 39:8 ============ Psa 39:8 "Deliver me from all my transgressions; Make me not the reproach of the foolish.(nas) Psa 39:8 καὶ νῦν τίς ἡ ὑπομονή μου οὐχὶ ὁ κύριος καὶ ἡ ὑπόστασίς μου παρὰ σοῦ ἐστιν (lxx) Psa 39:8 [Vulgate 38:9] ab omnibus iniquitatibus meis libera me obprobrium stulto ne ponas me(vulgate) 9 ׃39 מִכָּל־פְּשָׁעַ֥י הַצִּילֵ֑נִי חֶרְפַּ֥ת נָ֝בָ֗ל אַל־תְּשִׂימֵֽנִי׃ Psalms Psa 39:8 Errette mich von aller meiner Sünde und laß mich nicht den Narren ein Spott werden.(dhs) Psa 39:8 Deliver me from all my transgressions; Do not make me the reproach of the foolish.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 39:9 ============ Psa 39:9 "I have become mute, I do not open my mouth, Because it is You who have done it.(nas) Psa 39:9 ἀπὸ πασῶν τῶν ἀνομιῶν μου ῥῦσαί με ὄνειδος ἄφρονι ἔδωκάς με (lxx) Psa 39:9 [Vulgate 38:10] obmutui non aperiam os meum quia tu fecisti(vulgate) 10 ׃39 נֶ֭אֱלַמְתִּי לֹ֣א אֶפְתַּח־פִּ֑י כִּ֖י אַתָּ֣ה עָשִֽׂיתָ׃ Psalms Psa 39:9 Ich will schweigen und meinen Mund nicht auftun; denn du hast's getan.(dhs) Psa 39:9 I was mute, I did not open my mouth, Because it was You who did it.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 39:10 ============ Psa 39:10 "Remove Your plague from me; Because of the opposition of Your hand I am perishing.(nas) Psa 39:10 ἐκωφώθην καὶ οὐκ ἤνοιξα τὸ στόμα μου ὅτι σὺ εἶ ὁ ποιήσας με (lxx) Psa 39:10 [Vulgate 38:11] tolle a me plagas tuas(vulgate) 11 ׃39 הָסֵ֣ר מֵעָלַ֣י נִגְעֶ֑ךָ מִתִּגְרַ֥ת יָ֝דְךָ֗ אֲנִ֣י כָלִֽיתִי׃ Psalms Psa 39:10 Wende deine Plage von mir; denn ich bin verschmachtet von der Strafe deiner Hand.(dhs) Psa 39:10 Remove Your plague from me; I am consumed by the blow of Your hand.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 39:11 ============ Psa 39:11 "With reproofs You chasten a man for iniquity; You consume as a moth what is precious to him; Surely every man is a mere breath. Selah.(nas) Psa 39:11 ἀπόστησον ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ τὰς μάστιγάς σου ἀπὸ τῆς ἰσχύος τῆς χειρός σου ἐγὼ ἐξέλιπον (lxx) Psa 39:11 [Vulgate 38:12] a contentione manus tuae ego consumptus sum in increpationibus pro iniquitate corripuisti virum et posuisti quasi tineam desiderabilia eius verumtamen vanitas omnis homo semper(vulgate) 12 ׃39 בְּֽתוֹכָ֘ח֤וֹת עַל־עָוֺ֨ן ׀ יִסַּ֬רְתָּ אִ֗ישׁ וַתֶּ֣מֶס כָּעָ֣שׁ חֲמוּד֑וֹ אַ֤ךְ הֶ֖בֶל כָּל־אָדָ֣ם סֶֽלָה׃ Psalms Psa 39:11 Wenn du einen züchtigst um der Sünde willen, so wird seine Schöne verzehrt wie von Motten. Ach wie gar nichts sind doch alle Menschen! (Sela.)(dhs) Psa 39:11 When with rebukes You correct man for iniquity, You make his beauty melt away like a moth; Surely every man is vapor. Selah(nkjv) ======= Psalm 39:12 ============ Psa 39:12 "Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear to my cry; Do not be silent at my tears; For I am a stranger with You, A sojourner like all my fathers.(nas) Psa 39:12 ἐν ἐλεγμοῖς ὑπὲρ ἀνομίας ἐπαίδευσας ἄνθρωπον καὶ ἐξέτηξας ὡς ἀράχνην τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ πλὴν μάτην ταράσσεται πᾶς ἄνθρωπος διάψαλμα (lxx) Psa 39:12 [Vulgate 38:13] audi orationem meam Domine et clamorem meum exaudi ad lacrimam meam ne obsurdescas quia advena ego sum apud te et peregrinus sicut omnes patres mei(vulgate) 13 ׃39 שִֽׁמְעָ֥ה־תְפִלָּתִ֨י ׀ יְהוָ֡ה וְשַׁוְעָתִ֨י ׀ הַאֲזִינָה֮ אֶֽל־דִּמְעָתִ֗י אַֽל־תֶּחֱ֫רַ֥שׁ כִּ֤י גֵ֣ר אָנֹכִ֣י עִמָּ֑ךְ תּ֝וֹשָׁ֗ב כְּכָל־אֲבוֹתָֽי׃ Psalms Psa 39:12 Höre mein Gebet, HERR, und vernimm mein Schreien und schweige nicht über meine Tränen; denn ich bin dein Pilger und dein Bürger wie alle meine Väter.(dhs) Psa 39:12 "Hear my prayer, O Lord, And give ear to my cry; Do not be silent at my tears; For I am a stranger with You, A sojourner, as all my fathers were.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 39:13 ============ Psa 39:13 "Turn Your gaze away from me, that I may smile again Before I depart and am no more."(nas) Psa 39:13 ἄνες μοι ἵνα ἀναψύξω πρὸ τοῦ με ἀπελθεῖν καὶ οὐκέτι μὴ ὑπάρξω (lxx) Psa 39:13 [Vulgate 38:14] parce mihi ut rideam antequam vadam et non subsistam(vulgate) 14 ׃39 הָשַׁ֣ע מִמֶּ֣נִּי וְאַבְלִ֑יגָה בְּטֶ֖רֶם אֵלֵ֣ךְ וְאֵינֶֽנִּי׃ Psalms Psa 39:13 Laß ab von mir, daß ich mich erquicke, ehe ich den hinfahre und nicht mehr hier sei.(dhs) Psa 39:13 Remove Your gaze from me, that I may regain strength, Before I go away and am no more."(nkjv) ======= Psalm 40:1 ============ top of the page
