Today's Date: ======= Hosea 7:1 ============ Hos 7:1 When I would heal Israel, The iniquity of Ephraim is uncovered, And the evil deeds of Samaria, For they deal falsely; The thief enters in, Bandits raid outside,(nas) Hos 7:1 ἐν τῷ ἰάσασθαί με τὸν Ισραηλ καὶ ἀποκαλυφθήσεται ἡ ἀδικία Εφραιμ καὶ ἡ κακία Σαμαρείας ὅτι ἠργάσαντο ψευδῆ καὶ κλέπτης πρὸς αὐτὸν εἰσελεύσεται ἐκδιδύσκων λῃστὴς ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ αὐτοῦ (lxx) Hos 7:1 [Cum sanare vellem Israël, revelata est iniquitas Ephraim, et malitia Samariæ, quia operati sunt mendacium; et fur ingressus est spolians, latrunculus foris.(vulgate) 1 ׃7 כְּרָפְאִ֣י לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל וְנִגְלָ֞ה עֲוֺ֤ן אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ וְרָע֣וֹת שֹֽׁמְר֔וֹן כִּ֥י פָעֲל֖וּ שָׁ֑קֶר וְגַנָּ֣ב יָב֔וֹא פָּשַׁ֥ט גְּד֖וּד בַּחֽוּץ׃ Hosea Hos 7:1 Wenn ich Israel heilen will, so findet sich erst die Sünde Ephraims und die Bosheit Samarias, wie sie Lügen treiben und Diebe einsteigen und Räuber draußen plündern;(dhs) Hos 7:1 "When I would have healed Israel, Then the iniquity of Ephraim was uncovered, And the wickedness of Samaria. For they have committed fraud; A thief comes in; A band of robbers takes spoil outside.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 7:2 ============ Hos 7:2 And they do not consider in their hearts That I remember all their wickedness. Now their deeds are all around them; They are before My face.(nas) Hos 7:2 ὅπως συνᾴδωσιν ὡς συνᾴδοντες τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτῶν πάσας τὰς κακίας αὐτῶν ἐμνήσθην νῦν ἐκύκλωσεν αὐτοὺς τὰ διαβούλια αὐτῶν ἀπέναντι τοῦ προσώπου μου ἐγένοντο (lxx) Hos 7:2 Et ne forte dicant in cordibus suis, omnem malitiam eorum me recordatum, nunc circumdederunt eos adinventiones suæ: coram facie mea factæ sunt.(vulgate) 2 ׃7 וּבַל־יֹֽאמְרוּ֙ לִלְבָבָ֔ם כָּל־רָעָתָ֖ם זָכָ֑רְתִּי עַתָּה֙ סְבָב֣וּם מַֽעַלְלֵיהֶ֔ם נֶ֥גֶד פָּנַ֖י הָיֽוּ׃ Hosea Hos 7:2 dennoch wollen sie nicht merken, daß ich alle ihre Bosheit merke. Ich sehe aber ihr Wesen wohl, das sie allenthalben treiben.(dhs) Hos 7:2 They do not consider in their hearts That I remember all their wickedness; Now their own deeds have surrounded them; They are before My face.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 7:3 ============ Hos 7:3 With their wickedness they make the king glad, And the princes with their lies.(nas) Hos 7:3 ἐν ταῖς κακίαις αὐτῶν εὔφραναν βασιλεῖς καὶ ἐν τοῖς ψεύδεσιν αὐτῶν ἄρχοντας (lxx) Hos 7:3 In malitia sua lætificaverunt regem, et in mendaciis suis principes.(vulgate) 3 ׃7 בְּרָעָתָ֖ם יְשַׂמְּחוּ־מֶ֑לֶךְ וּבְכַחֲשֵׁיהֶ֖ם שָׂרִֽים׃ Hosea Hos 7:3 Sie vertrösten den König durch ihre Bosheit und die Fürsten durch ihre Lügen;(dhs) Hos 7:3 They make a king glad with their wickedness, And princes with their lies.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 7:4 ============ Hos 7:4 They are all adulterers, Like an oven heated by the baker Who ceases to stir up the fire From the kneading of the dough until it is leavened.(nas) Hos 7:4 πάντες μοιχεύοντες ὡς κλίβανος καιόμενος εἰς πέψιν κατακαύματος ἀπὸ τῆς φλογός ἀπὸ φυράσεως στέατος ἕως τοῦ ζυμωθῆναι αὐτό (lxx) Hos 7:4 Omnes adulterantes, quasi clibanus succensus a coquente; quievit paululum civitas a commistione fermenti, donec fermentaretur totum.(vulgate) 4 ׃7 כֻּלָּם֙ מְנָ֣אֲפִ֔ים כְּמ֣וֹ תַנּ֔וּר בֹּעֵ֖רָה מֵֽאֹפֶ֑ה יִשְׁבּ֣וֹת מֵעִ֔יר מִלּ֥וּשׁ בָּצֵ֖ק עַד־חֻמְצָתֽוֹ׃ Hosea Hos 7:4 und sind allesamt Ehebrecher gleichwie ein Backofen, den der Bäcker heizt, wenn er hat ausgeknetet und läßt den Teig durchsäuern und aufgehen.(dhs) Hos 7:4 "They are all adulterers. Like an oven heated by a baker-- He ceases stirring the fire after kneading the dough, Until it is leavened.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 7:5 ============ Hos 7:5 On the day of our king, the princes became sick with the heat of wine; He stretched out his hand with scoffers,(nas) Hos 7:5 αἱ ἡμέραι τῶν βασιλέων ὑμῶν ἤρξαντο οἱ ἄρχοντες θυμοῦσθαι ἐξ οἴνου ἐξέτεινεν τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ μετὰ λοιμῶν (lxx) Hos 7:5 Dies regis nostri: cœperunt principes furere a vino; extendit manum suam cum illusoribus.(vulgate) 5 ׃7 י֣וֹם מַלְכֵּ֔נוּ הֶחֱל֥וּ שָׂרִ֖ים חֲמַ֣ת מִיָּ֑יִן מָשַׁ֥ךְ יָד֖וֹ אֶת־לֹצְצִֽים׃ Hosea Hos 7:5 Heute ist unsers Königs Fest sprechen sie, da fangen die Fürsten an, vom Wein toll zu werden; so zieht er die Spötter zu sich.(dhs) Hos 7:5 In the day of our king Princes have made him sick, inflamed with wine; He stretched out his hand with scoffers.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 7:6 ============ Hos 7:6 For their hearts are like an oven As they approach their plotting; Their anger smolders all night, In the morning it burns like a flaming fire.(nas) Hos 7:6 διότι ἀνεκαύθησαν ὡς κλίβανος αἱ καρδίαι αὐτῶν ἐν τῷ καταράσσειν αὐτούς ὅλην τὴν νύκτα ὕπνου Εφραιμ ἐνεπλήσθη πρωὶ ἐγενήθη ἀνεκαύθη ὡς πυρὸς φέγγος (lxx) Hos 7:6 Quia applicuerunt quasi clibanum cor suum, cum insidiaretur eis; tota nocte dormivit coquens eos: mane ipse succensus quasi ignis flammæ.(vulgate) 6 ׃7 כִּֽי־קֵרְב֧וּ כַתַּנּ֛וּר לִבָּ֖ם בְּאָרְבָּ֑ם כָּל־הַלַּ֙יְלָה֙ יָשֵׁ֣ן אֹֽפֵהֶ֔ם בֹּ֕קֶר ה֥וּא בֹעֵ֖ר כְּאֵ֥שׁ לֶהָבָֽה׃ Hosea Hos 7:6 Denn ihr Herz ist in heißer Andacht wie ein Backofen, wenn sie opfern und die Leute betrügen; ihr Bäcker schläft die ganze Nacht, und des Morgens brennt er lichterloh.(dhs) Hos 7:6 They prepare their heart like an oven, While they lie in wait; Their baker sleeps all night; In the morning it burns like a flaming fire.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 7:7 ============ Hos 7:7 All of them are hot like an oven, And they consume their rulers; All their kings have fallen. None of them calls on Me.(nas) Hos 7:7 πάντες ἐθερμάνθησαν ὡς κλίβανος καὶ κατέφαγον τοὺς κριτὰς αὐτῶν πάντες οἱ βασιλεῖς αὐτῶν ἔπεσαν οὐκ ἦν ὁ ἐπικαλούμενος ἐν αὐτοῖς πρός με (lxx) Hos 7:7 Omnes calefacti sunt quasi clibanus, et devoraverunt judices suos: omnes reges eorum ceciderunt; non est qui clamat in eis ad me.(vulgate) 7 ׃7 כֻּלָּ֤ם יֵחַ֙מּוּ֙ כַּתַּנּ֔וּר וְאָכְל֖וּ אֶת־שֹֽׁפְטֵיהֶ֑ם כָּל־מַלְכֵיהֶ֣ם נָפָ֔לוּ אֵין־קֹרֵ֥א בָהֶ֖ם אֵלָֽי׃ Hosea Hos 7:7 Allesamt sind sie so heißer Andacht wie ein Backofen, also daß ihre Richter aufgefressen werden und alle ihre Könige fallen; und ist keiner unter ihnen, der mich anrufe.(dhs) Hos 7:7 They are all hot, like an oven, And have devoured their judges; All their kings have fallen. None among them calls upon Me.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 7:8 ============ Hos 7:8 Ephraim mixes himself with the nations; Ephraim has become a cake not turned.(nas) Hos 7:8 Εφραιμ ἐν τοῖς λαοῖς αὐτοῦ συνανεμείγνυτο Εφραιμ ἐγένετο ἐγκρυφίας οὐ μεταστρεφόμενος (lxx) Hos 7:8 Ephraim in populis ipse commiscebatur; Ephraim factus est subcinericius panis, qui non reversatur.(vulgate) 8 ׃7 אֶפְרַ֕יִם בָּעַמִּ֖ים ה֣וּא יִתְבּוֹלָ֑ל אֶפְרַ֛יִם הָיָ֥ה עֻגָ֖ה בְּלִ֥י הֲפוּכָֽה׃ Hosea Hos 7:8 Ephraim mengt sich unter die Völker; Ephraim ist wie ein Kuchen, den niemand umwendet.(dhs) Hos 7:8 "Ephraim has mixed himself among the peoples; Ephraim is a cake unturned.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 7:9 ============ Hos 7:9 Strangers devour his strength, Yet he does not know it; Gray hairs also are sprinkled on him, Yet he does not know it.(nas) Hos 7:9 κατέφαγον ἀλλότριοι τὴν ἰσχὺν αὐτοῦ αὐτὸς δὲ οὐκ ἐπέγνω καὶ πολιαὶ ἐξήνθησαν αὐτῷ καὶ αὐτὸς οὐκ ἔγνω (lxx) Hos 7:9 Comederunt alieni robur ejus, et ipse nescivit; sed et cani effusi sunt in eo, et ipse ignoravit.(vulgate) 9 ׃7 אָכְל֤וּ זָרִים֙ כֹּח֔וֹ וְה֖וּא לֹ֣א יָדָ֑ע גַּם־שֵׂיבָה֙ זָ֣רְקָה בּ֔וֹ וְה֖וּא לֹ֥א יָדָֽע׃ Hosea Hos 7:9 Fremde fressen seine Kraft, doch will er's nicht merken; er hat auch graue Haare gekriegt, doch will er's nicht merken.(dhs) Hos 7:9 Aliens have devoured his strength, But he does not know it; Yes, gray hairs are here and there on him, Yet he does not know it.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 7:10 ============ Hos 7:10 Though the pride of Israel testifies against him, Yet they have not returned to the Lord their God, Nor have they sought Him, for all this.(nas) Hos 7:10 καὶ ταπεινωθήσεται ἡ ὕβρις Ισραηλ εἰς πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἐπέστρεψαν πρὸς κύριον τὸν θεὸν αὐτῶν καὶ οὐκ ἐξεζήτησαν αὐτὸν ἐν πᾶσι τούτοις (lxx) Hos 7:10 Et humiliabitur superbia Israël in facie ejus; nec reversi sunt ad Dominum Deum suum, et non quæsierunt eum in omnibus his.(vulgate) 10 ׃7 וְעָנָ֥ה גְאֽוֹן־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בְּפָנָ֑יו וְלֹֽא־שָׁ֙בוּ֙ אֶל־יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹֽהֵיהֶ֔ם וְלֹ֥א בִקְשֻׁ֖הוּ בְּכָל־זֹֽאת׃ Hosea Hos 7:10 Und die Hoffart Israels zeugt wider sie ins Angesicht; dennoch bekehren sie sich nicht zum HERRN, ihrem Gott, fragen auch nicht nach ihm in diesem allem.(dhs) Hos 7:10 And the pride of Israel testifies to his face, But they do not return to the Lord their God, Nor seek Him for all this.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 7:11 ============ Hos 7:11 So Ephraim has become like a silly dove, without sense; They call to Egypt, they go to Assyria.(nas) Hos 7:11 καὶ ἦν Εφραιμ ὡς περιστερὰ ἄνους οὐκ ἔχουσα καρδίαν Αἴγυπτον ἐπεκαλεῖτο καὶ εἰς Ἀσσυρίους ἐπορεύθησαν (lxx) Hos 7:11 Et factus est Ephraim quasi columba seducta non habens cor. Ægyptum invocabant; ad Assyrios abierunt.(vulgate) 11 ׃7 וַיְהִ֣י אֶפְרַ֔יִם כְּיוֹנָ֥ה פוֹתָ֖ה אֵ֣ין לֵ֑ב מִצְרַ֥יִם קָרָ֖אוּ אַשּׁ֥וּר הָלָֽכוּ׃ Hosea Hos 7:11 Denn Ephraim ist wie eine verlockte Taube, die nichts merken will. Jetzt rufen sie Ägypten an, dann laufen sie zu Assur.(dhs) Hos 7:11 "Ephraim also is like a silly dove, without sense-- They call to Egypt, They go to Assyria.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 7:12 ============ Hos 7:12 When they go, I will spread My net over them; I will bring them down like the birds of the sky. I will chastise them in accordance with the proclamation to their assembly.(nas) Hos 7:12 καθὼς ἂν πορεύωνται ἐπιβαλῶ ἐπ᾽ αὐτοὺς τὸ δίκτυόν μου καθὼς τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ κατάξω αὐτούς παιδεύσω αὐτοὺς ἐν τῇ ἀκοῇ τῆς θλίψεως αὐτῶν (lxx) Hos 7:12 Et cum profecti fuerint, expandam super eos rete meum: quasi volucrem cæli detraham eos; cædam eos secundum auditionem cœtus eorum.(vulgate) 12 ׃7 כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר יֵלֵ֗כוּ אֶפְר֤וֹשׂ עֲלֵיהֶם֙ רִשְׁתִּ֔י כְּע֥וֹף הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם אֽוֹרִידֵ֑ם אַיְסִרֵ֕ם כְּשֵׁ֖מַע לַעֲדָתָֽם׃ ס Hosea Hos 7:12 Aber indem sie hin und her laufen, will ich mein Netz über sie werfen und sie herunterholen wie die Vögel unter dem Himmel; ich will sie strafen, wie man predigt in ihrer Versammlung.(dhs) Hos 7:12 Wherever they go, I will spread My net on them; I will bring them down like birds of the air; I will chastise them According to what their congregation has heard.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 7:13 ============ Hos 7:13 Woe to them, for they have strayed from Me! Destruction is theirs, for they have rebelled against Me! I would redeem them, but they speak lies against Me.(nas) Hos 7:13 οὐαὶ αὐτοῖς ὅτι ἀπεπήδησαν ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ δείλαιοί εἰσιν ὅτι ἠσέβησαν εἰς ἐμέ ἐγὼ δὲ ἐλυτρωσάμην αὐτούς αὐτοὶ δὲ κατελάλησαν κατ᾽ ἐμοῦ ψεύδη (lxx) Hos 7:13 Væ eis, quoniam recesserunt a me! vastabuntur, quia prævaricati sunt in me, et ego redemi eos, et ipsi locuti sunt contra me mendacia.(vulgate) 13 ׃7 א֤וֹי לָהֶם֙ כִּֽי־נָדְד֣וּ מִמֶּ֔נִּי שֹׁ֥ד לָהֶ֖ם כִּֽי־פָ֣שְׁעוּ בִ֑י וְאָנֹכִ֣י אֶפְדֵּ֔ם וְהֵ֕מָּה דִּבְּר֥וּ עָלַ֖י כְּזָבִֽים׃ Hosea Hos 7:13 Weh ihnen, daß sie von mir weichen! Sie müssen verstört werden; denn sie sind von mir abtrünnig geworden! Ich wollte sie wohl erlösen, wenn sie nicht wider mich Lügen lehrten.(dhs) Hos 7:13 "Woe to them, for they have fled from Me! Destruction to them, Because they have transgressed against Me! Though I redeemed them, Yet they have spoken lies against Me.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 7:14 ============ Hos 7:14 And they do not cry to Me from their heart When they wail on their beds; For the sake of grain and new wine they assemble themselves, They turn away from Me.(nas) Hos 7:14 καὶ οὐκ ἐβόησαν πρός με αἱ καρδίαι αὐτῶν ἀλλ᾽ ἢ ὠλόλυζον ἐν ταῖς κοίταις αὐτῶν ἐπὶ σίτῳ καὶ οἴνῳ κατετέμνοντο ἐπαιδεύθησαν ἐν ἐμοί (lxx) Hos 7:14 Et non clamaverunt ad me in corde suo, sed ululabant in cubilibus suis: super triticum et vinum ruminabant; recesserunt a me.(vulgate) 14 ׃7 וְלֹֽא־זָעֲק֤וּ אֵלַי֙ בְּלִבָּ֔ם כִּ֥י יְיֵלִ֖ילוּ עַל־מִשְׁכְּבוֹתָ֑ם עַל־דָּגָ֧ן וְתִיר֛וֹשׁ יִתְגּוֹרָ֖רוּ יָס֥וּרוּ בִֽי׃ Hosea Hos 7:14 So rufen sie mich auch nicht an von Herzen, sondern Heulen auf ihren Lagern. Sie sammeln sich um Korn und Mosts willen und sind mir ungehorsam.(dhs) Hos 7:14 They did not cry out to Me with their heart When they wailed upon their beds. "They assemble together for grain and new wine, They rebel against Me;(nkjv) ======= Hosea 7:15 ============ Hos 7:15 Although I trained and strengthened their arms, Yet they devise evil against Me.(nas) Hos 7:15 κἀγὼ κατίσχυσα τοὺς βραχίονας αὐτῶν καὶ εἰς ἐμὲ ἐλογίσαντο πονηρά (lxx) Hos 7:15 Et ego erudivi eos, et confortavi brachia eorum, et in me cogitaverunt malitiam.(vulgate) 15 ׃7 וַאֲנִ֣י יִסַּ֔רְתִּי חִזַּ֖קְתִּי זְרֽוֹעֹתָ֑ם וְאֵלַ֖י יְחַשְּׁבוּ־רָֽע׃ Hosea Hos 7:15 Ich lehre sie und stärke ihren Arm; aber sie denken Böses von mir.(dhs) Hos 7:15 Though I disciplined and strengthened their arms, Yet they devise evil against Me;(nkjv) ======= Hosea 7:16 ============ Hos 7:16 They turn, but not upward, They are like a deceitful bow; Their princes will fall by the sword Because of the insolence of their tongue. This will be their derision in the land of Egypt.(nas) Hos 7:16 ἀπεστράφησαν εἰς οὐθέν ἐγένοντο ὡς τόξον ἐντεταμένον πεσοῦνται ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ οἱ ἄρχοντες αὐτῶν δι᾽ ἀπαιδευσίαν γλώσσης αὐτῶν οὗτος ὁ φαυλισμὸς αὐτῶν ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ (lxx) Hos 7:16 Reversi sunt ut essent absque jugo; facti sunt quasi arcus dolosus: cadent in gladio principes eorum, a furore linguæ suæ. Ista subsannatio eorum in terra Ægypti.](vulgate) 16 ׃7 יָשׁ֣וּבוּ ׀ לֹ֣א עָ֗ל הָיוּ֙ כְּקֶ֣שֶׁת רְמִיָּ֔ה יִפְּל֥וּ בַחֶ֛רֶב שָׂרֵיהֶ֖ם מִזַּ֣עַם לְשׁוֹנָ֑ם ז֥וֹ לַעְגָּ֖ם בְּאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ Hosea Hos 7:16 Sie bekehren sich, aber nicht recht, sondern sind wie ein falscher Bogen. Darum werden ihre Fürsten durchs Schwert fallen; ihr Drohen soll in Ägyptenland zum Spott werden.(dhs) Hos 7:16 They return, but not to the Most High; They are like a treacherous bow.
