Non enim ascendam tecum, quia populus duræ cervicis es: ne forte disperdam te in via.(vulgate) Exodus 33:3 To a lande, I say, that floweth with milke and hony: for I will not goe vp with thee, because thou art a stiffe necked people, least I consume thee in the way.(Geneva) Exo 33:3 dich zu bringen in das Land, darin Milch und Honig fließt. Ich will nicht mit dir hinaufziehen, denn du bist ein halsstarriges Volk; ich möchte dich unterwegs vertilgen.(dhs) Exo 33:3 Go up to a land flowing with milk and honey; for I will not go up in your midst, lest I consume you on the way, for you are a stiff-necked people."(nkjv) ======= Exodus 33:4 ============ Exo 33:4 When the people heard this sad word, they went into mourning, and none of them put on his ornaments.(nas) Exo 33:4 καὶ ἀκούσας ὁ λαὸς τὸ ῥῆμα τὸ πονηρὸν τοῦτο κατεπένθησαν ἐν πενθικοῖς (lxx) Exo 33:4 Audiensque populus sermonem hunc pessimum, luxit: et nullus ex more indutus est cultu suo.(vulgate) Exodus 33:4 And when the people heard this euill tydings, they sorowed, and no man put on his best rayment.(Geneva) Exo 33:4 Da das Volk diese böse Rede hörte, trugen sie Leid, und niemand trug seinen Schmuck an sich.(dhs) Exo 33:4 And when the people heard this bad news, they mourned, and no one put on his ornaments.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 33:5 ============ Exo 33:5 For the Lord had said to Moses, "Say to the sons of Israel, 'You are an obstinate people; should I go up in your midst for one moment, I would destroy you. Now therefore, put off your ornaments from you, that I may know what I shall do with you.'"(nas) Exo 33:5 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ ὑμεῖς λαὸς σκληροτράχηλος ὁρᾶτε μὴ πληγὴν ἄλλην ἐπάξω ἐγὼ ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς καὶ ἐξαναλώσω ὑμᾶς νῦν οὖν ἀφέλεσθε τὰς στολὰς τῶν δοξῶν ὑμῶν καὶ τὸν κόσμον καὶ δείξω σοι ἃ ποιήσω σοι (lxx) Exo 33:5 Dixitque Dominus ad Moysen: Loquere filiis Israël: Populus duræ cervicis es: semel ascendam in medio tui, et delebo te. Jam nunc depone ornatum tuum, ut sciam quid faciam tibi.(vulgate) Exodus 33:5 (For the Lord had said to Moses, Say vnto the children of Israel, Ye are a stiffe necked people, I wil come suddenly vpon thee, and consume thee: therefore now put thy costly rayment from thee, that I may know what to do vnto thee)(Geneva) Exo 33:5 Und der HERR sprach zu Mose: Sage zu den Kindern Israel: Ihr seid ein halsstarriges Volk. Wo ich nur einen Augenblick mit dir hinaufzöge, würde ich dich vertilgen. Und nun lege deinen Schmuck von dir, daß ich wisse, was ich dir tun soll.(dhs) Exo 33:5 For the Lord had said to Moses, "Say to the children of Israel, 'You are a stiff-necked people. I could come up into your midst in one moment and consume you. Now therefore, take off your ornaments, that I may know what to do to you.' "(nkjv) ======= Exodus 33:6 ============ Exo 33:6 So the sons of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments, from Mount Horeb onward.(nas) Exo 33:6 καὶ περιείλαντο οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ τὸν κόσμον αὐτῶν καὶ τὴν περιστολὴν ἀπὸ τοῦ ὄρους τοῦ Χωρηβ (lxx) Exo 33:6 Deposuerunt ergo filii Israël ornatum suum a monte Horeb.~(vulgate) Exodus 33:6 So the children of Israel layed their good raiment from them, after Moses came downe from the mount Horeb.(Geneva) Exo 33:6 Also taten die Kinder Israel ihren Schmuck von sich vor dem Berge Horeb.(dhs) Exo 33:6 So the children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments by Mount Horeb.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 33:7 ============ Exo 33:7 Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, a good distance from the camp, and he called it the tent of meeting. And everyone who sought the Lord would go out to the tent of meeting which was outside the camp.(nas) Exo 33:7 καὶ λαβὼν Μωυσῆς τὴν σκηνὴν αὐτοῦ ἔπηξεν ἔξω τῆς παρεμβολῆς μακρὰν ἀπὸ τῆς παρεμβολῆς καὶ ἐκλήθη σκηνὴ μαρτυρίου καὶ ἐγένετο πᾶς ὁ ζητῶν κύριον ἐξεπορεύετο εἰς τὴν σκηνὴν ἔξω τῆς παρεμβολῆς (lxx) Exo 33:7 Moyses quoque tollens tabernaculum, tetendit extra castra procul, vocavitque nomen ejus, Tabernaculum fœderis. Et omnis populus, qui habebat aliquam quæstionem, egrediebatur ad tabernaculum fœderis, extra castra.(vulgate) Exodus 33:7 Then Moses tooke his tabernacle, and pitched it without the host farre off from the hoste, & called it Ohel-moed; whe any did seeke to the Lord, he went out vnto the Tabernacle of the Congregation, which was without the hoste.(Geneva) Exo 33:7 Mose aber nahm die Hütte und schlug sie auf draußen, ferne vom Lager, und hieß sie eine Hütte des Stifts. Und wer den HERRN fragen wollte, mußte herausgehen zur Hütte des Stifts vor das Lager.(dhs) Exo 33:7 Moses took his tent and pitched it outside the camp, far from the camp, and called it the tabernacle of meeting. And it came to pass that everyone who sought the Lord went out to the tabernacle of meeting which was outside the camp.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 33:8 ============ Exo 33:8 And it came about, whenever Moses went out to the tent, that all the people would arise and stand, each at the entrance of his tent, and gaze after Moses until he entered the tent.(nas) Exo 33:8 ἡνίκα δ᾽ ἂν εἰσεπορεύετο Μωυσῆς εἰς τὴν σκηνὴν ἔξω τῆς παρεμβολῆς εἱστήκει πᾶς ὁ λαὸς σκοπεύοντες ἕκαστος παρὰ τὰς θύρας τῆς σκηνῆς αὐτοῦ καὶ κατενοοῦσαν ἀπιόντος Μωυσῆ ἕως τοῦ εἰσελθεῖν αὐτὸν εἰς τὴν σκηνήν (lxx) Exo 33:8 Cumque egrederetur Moyses ad tabernaculum, surgebat universa plebs, et stabat unusquisque in ostio papilionis sui, aspiciebantque tergum Moysi, donec ingrederetur tentorium.(vulgate) Exodus 33:8 And when Moses went out vnto the Tabernacle, all the people rose vp, and stood euery man at his tent doore, and looked after Moses, vntil he was gone into the Tabernacle.(Geneva) Exo 33:8 Und wenn Mose ausging zur Hütte so stand alles Volk auf und trat ein jeglicher in seiner Hütte Tür und sahen ihm nach, bis er in die Hütte kam.(dhs) Exo 33:8 So it was, whenever Moses went out to the tabernacle, that all the people rose, and each man stood at his tent door and watched Moses until he had gone into the tabernacle.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 33:9 ============ Exo 33:9 Whenever Moses entered the tent, the pillar of cloud would descend and stand at the entrance of the tent; and the Lord would speak with Moses.(nas) Exo 33:9 ὡς δ᾽ ἂν εἰσῆλθεν Μωυσῆς εἰς τὴν σκηνήν κατέβαινεν ὁ στῦλος τῆς νεφέλης καὶ ἵστατο ἐπὶ τὴν θύραν τῆς σκηνῆς καὶ ἐλάλει Μωυσῇ (lxx) Exo 33:9 Ingresso autem illo tabernaculum fœderis, descendebat columna nubis, et stabat ad ostium, loquebaturque cum Moyse,(vulgate) Exodus 33:9 And assoone as Moses was entred into the Tabernacle, the cloudie pillar descended & stood at the doore of the Tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses.(Geneva) Exo 33:9 Und wenn Mose in die Hütte kam, so kam die Wolkensäule hernieder und stand in der Hütte Tür und redete mit Mose.(dhs) Exo 33:9 And it came to pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 33:10 ============ Exo 33:10 When all the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the entrance of the tent, all the people would arise and worship, each at the entrance of his tent.(nas) Exo 33:10 καὶ ἑώρα πᾶς ὁ λαὸς τὸν στῦλον τῆς νεφέλης ἑστῶτα ἐπὶ τῆς θύρας τῆς σκηνῆς καὶ στάντες πᾶς ὁ λαὸς προσεκύνησαν ἕκαστος ἀπὸ τῆς θύρας τῆς σκηνῆς αὐτοῦ (lxx) Exo 33:10 cernentibus universis quod columna nubis staret ad ostium tabernaculi. Stabantque ipsi, et adorabant per fores tabernaculorum suorum.(vulgate) Exodus 33:10 Nowe when all the people saw the cloudie pillar stand at the Tabernacle doore, all the people rose vp, and worshipped euery man in his tent doore.(Geneva) Exo 33:10 Und alles Volk sah die Wolkensäule in der Hütte Tür stehen, und standen auf und neigten sich, ein jeglicher in seiner Hütte Tür.(dhs) Exo 33:10 All the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the tabernacle door, and all the people rose and worshiped, each man in his tent door.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 33:11 ============ Exo 33:11 Thus the Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses returned to the camp, his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart from the tent. (nas) Exo 33:11 καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν ἐνώπιος ἐνωπίῳ ὡς εἴ τις λαλήσει πρὸς τὸν ἑαυτοῦ φίλον καὶ ἀπελύετο εἰς τὴν παρεμβολήν ὁ δὲ θεράπων Ἰησοῦς υἱὸς Ναυη νέος οὐκ ἐξεπορεύετο ἐκ τῆς σκηνῆς (lxx) Exo 33:11 Loquebatur autem Dominus ad Moysen facie ad faciem, sicut solet loqui homo ad amicum suum. Cumque ille reverteretur in castra, minister ejus Josue filius Nun, puer, non recedebat de tabernaculo.~(vulgate) Exodus 33:11 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, face to face, as a man speaketh vnto his friende. After he turned againe into the hoste, but his seruant Ioshua the sonne of Nun a yong man, departed not out of the Tabernacle.(Geneva) Exo 33:11 Der HERR aber redete mit Mose von Angesicht zu Angesicht, wie ein Mann mit seinem Freunde redet. Und wenn er wiederkehrte zum Lager, so wich sein Diener Josua, der Sohn Nuns, der Jüngling, nicht aus der Hütte.(dhs) Exo 33:11 So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 33:12 ============ Exo 33:12 Then Moses said to the Lord, "See, You say to me, 'Bring up this people!' But You Yourself have not let me know whom You will send with me. Moreover, You have said, 'I have known you by name, and you have also found favor in My sight.'(nas) Exo 33:12 καὶ εἶπεν Μωυσῆς πρὸς κύριον ἰδοὺ σύ μοι λέγεις ἀνάγαγε τὸν λαὸν τοῦτον σὺ δὲ οὐκ ἐδήλωσάς μοι ὃν συναποστελεῖς μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ σὺ δέ μοι εἶπας οἶδά σε παρὰ πάντας καὶ χάριν ἔχεις παρ᾽ ἐμοί (lxx) Exo 33:12 Dixit autem Moyses ad Dominum: Præcipis ut educam populum istum: et non indicas mihi quem missurus es mecum, præsertim cum dixeris: Novi te ex nomine, et invenisti gratiam coram me.(vulgate) Exodus 33:12 Then Moses sayde vnto the Lorde, See, thou sayest vnto me, Leade this people forth, and thou hast not shewed me whom thou wilt sende with mee: thou hast sayde moreouer, I knowe thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.(Geneva) Exo 33:12 Und Mose sprach zu dem HERRN: Siehe, du sprichst zu mir: Führe das Volk hinauf! und läßt mich nicht wissen, wen du mit mir senden willst, so du doch gesagt hast: Ich kenne dich mit Namen, und du hast Gnade vor meinen Augen gefunden.(dhs) Exo 33:12 Then Moses said to the Lord, "See, You say to me, 'Bring up this people.' But You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, 'I know you by name, and you have also found grace in My sight.'(nkjv) ======= Exodus 33:13 ============ Exo 33:13 Now therefore, I pray You, if I have found favor in Your sight, let me know Your ways that I may know You, so that I may find favor in Your sight. Consider too, that this nation is Your people."(nas) Exo 33:13 εἰ οὖν εὕρηκα χάριν ἐναντίον σου ἐμφάνισόν μοι σεαυτόν γνωστῶς ἴδω σε ὅπως ἂν ὦ εὑρηκὼς χάριν ἐναντίον σου καὶ ἵνα γνῶ ὅτι λαός σου τὸ ἔθνος τὸ μέγα τοῦτο (lxx) Exo 33:13 Si ergo inveni gratiam in conspectu tuo, ostende mihi faciem tuam, ut sciam te, et inveniam gratiam ante oculos tuos: respice populum tuum gentem hanc.(vulgate) Exodus 33:13 Nowe therefore, I pray thee, if I haue founde fauour in thy sight, shewe mee nowe thy way, that I may knowe thee, and that I may finde grace in thy sight: consider also that this nation is thy people.(Geneva) Exo 33:13 Habe ich denn Gnade vor deinen Augen gefunden, so laß mich deinen Weg wissen, damit ich dich kenne und Gnade vor deinen Augen finde. Und siehe doch, daß dies Volk dein Volk ist.(dhs) Exo 33:13 Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people."(nkjv) ======= Exodus 33:14 ============ Exo 33:14 And He said, "My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest."(nas) Exo 33:14 καὶ λέγει αὐτὸς προπορεύσομαί σου καὶ καταπαύσω σε (lxx) Exo 33:14 Dixitque Dominus: Facies mea præcedet te, et requiem dabo tibi.(vulgate) Exodus 33:14 And he answered, My presence shal go with thee, and I will giue thee rest.(Geneva) Exo 33:14 Er sprach: Mein Angesicht soll vorangehen; damit will ich dich leiten.(dhs) Exo 33:14 And He said, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."(nkjv) ======= Exodus 33:15 ============ Exo 33:15 Then he said to Him, "If Your presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here.(nas) Exo 33:15 καὶ λέγει πρὸς αὐτόν εἰ μὴ αὐτὸς σὺ πορεύῃ μή με ἀναγάγῃς ἐντεῦθεν (lxx) Exo 33:15 Et ait Moyses: Si non tu ipse præcedas, ne educas nos de loco isto.(vulgate) Exodus 33:15 Then he sayd vnto him, If thy presence go not with vs, cary vs not hence.(Geneva) Exo 33:15 Er aber sprach zu ihm: Wo nicht dein Angesicht vorangeht, so führe uns nicht von dannen hinauf.(dhs) Exo 33:15 Then he said to Him, "If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 33:16 ============ Exo 33:16 For how then can it be known that I have found favor in Your sight, I and Your people? Is it not by Your going with us, so that we, I and Your people, may be distinguished from all the other people who are upon the face of the earth?"(nas) Exo 33:16 καὶ πῶς γνωστὸν ἔσται ἀληθῶς ὅτι εὕρηκα χάριν παρὰ σοί ἐγώ τε καὶ ὁ λαός σου ἀλλ᾽ ἢ συμπορευομένου σου μεθ᾽ ἡμῶν καὶ ἐνδοξασθήσομαι ἐγώ τε καὶ ὁ λαός σου παρὰ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ὅσα ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἐστιν (lxx) Exo 33:16 In quo enim scire poterimus ego et populus tuus invenisse nos gratiam in conspectu tuo, nisi ambulaveris nobiscum, ut glorificemur ab omnibus populis qui habitant super terram?(vulgate) Exodus 33:16 And wherein nowe shal it be knowen, that I and thy people haue found fauour in thy sight? Shall it not be when thou goest with vs? so I, and thy people shall haue preeminence before all the people that are vpon the earth.(Geneva) Exo 33:16 Denn wobei soll doch erkannt werden, daß ich und dein Volk vor deinen Augen Gnade gefunden haben, außer wenn du mit uns gehst, auf daß ich und dein Volk gerühmt werden vor allem Volk, das auf dem Erdboden ist?(dhs) Exo 33:16 For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us? So we shall be separate, Your people and I, from all the people who are upon the face of the earth."(nkjv) ======= Exodus 33:17 ============ Exo 33:17 The Lord said to Moses, "I will also do this thing of which you have spoken; for you have found favor in My sight and I have known you by name."(nas) Exo 33:17 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν καὶ τοῦτόν σοι τὸν λόγον ὃν εἴρηκας ποιήσω εὕρηκας γὰρ χάριν ἐνώπιόν μου καὶ οἶδά σε παρὰ πάντας (lxx) Exo 33:17 Dixit autem Dominus ad Moysen: Et verbum istud, quod locutus es, faciam: invenisti enim gratiam coram me, et teipsum novi ex nomine.~(vulgate) Exodus 33:17 And the Lord sayde vnto Moses, I will doe this also that thou hast saide: for thou hast founde grace in my sight, and I knowe thee by name.(Geneva) Exo 33:17 Der HERR sprach zu Mose: Was du jetzt geredet hast, will ich auch tun; denn du hast Gnade vor meinen Augen gefunden, und ich kenne dich mit Namen.(dhs) Exo 33:17 So the Lord said to Moses, "I will also do this thing that you have spoken; for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name."(nkjv) ======= Exodus 33:18 ============ Exo 33:18 Then Moses said, "I pray You, show me Your glory!"(nas) Exo 33:18 καὶ λέγει δεῖξόν μοι τὴν σεαυτοῦ δόξαν (lxx) Exo 33:18 Qui ait: Ostende mihi gloriam tuam.(vulgate) Exodus 33:18 Againe he sayde, I beseech thee, shewe me thy glory.(Geneva) Exo 33:18 Er aber sprach: So laß mich deine Herrlichkeit sehen.(dhs) Exo 33:18 And he said, "Please, show me Your glory."(nkjv) ======= Exodus 33:19 ============ Exo 33:19 And He said, "I Myself will make all My goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the name of the Lord before you; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show compassion on whom I will show compassion."(nas) Exo 33:19 καὶ εἶπεν ἐγὼ παρελεύσομαι πρότερός σου τῇ δόξῃ μου καὶ καλέσω ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματί μου κύριος ἐναντίον σου καὶ ἐλεήσω ὃν ἂν ἐλεῶ καὶ οἰκτιρήσω ὃν ἂν οἰκτίρω (lxx) Exo 33:19 Respondit: Ego ostendam omne bonum tibi, et vocabo in nomine Domini coram te: et miserebor cui voluero, et clemens ero in quem mihi placuerit.(vulgate) Exodus 33:19 And he answered, I wil make all my good go before thee, and I wil proclaime the Name of the Lord before thee: for I will shewe mercy to whom I will shewe mercy, and will haue compassion on whom I will haue compassion.(Geneva) Exo 33:19 Und er sprach: Ich will vor deinem Angesicht alle meine Güte vorübergehen lassen und will ausrufen des HERRN Namen vor dir. Wem ich aber gnädig bin, dem bin ich gnädig; und wes ich mich erbarme, des erbarme ich mich.(dhs) Exo 33:19 Then He said, "I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you.
