This shall be your south border.(nas) Jos 15:4 καὶ πορεύεται ἐπὶ Ασεμωνα καὶ διεκβαλεῖ ἕως φάραγγος Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἔσται αὐτοῦ ἡ διέξοδος τῶν ὁρίων ἐπὶ τὴν θάλασσαν τοῦτό ἐστιν αὐτῶν ὅρια ἀπὸ λιβός (lxx) Jos 15:4 atque inde pertransiens in Asemona, et perveniens ad torrentem Ægypti: eruntque termini ejus mare magnum. The border continued toward the waters of En Shemesh and ended at En Rogel.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 15:8 ============ Jos 15:8 Then the border went up the valley of Ben-hinnom to the slope of the Jebusite on the south (that is, Jerusalem); and the border went up to the top of the mountain which is before the valley of Hinnom to the west, which is at the end of the valley of Rephaim toward the north.(nas) Jos 15:8 καὶ ἀναβαίνει τὰ ὅρια εἰς φάραγγα Ονομ ἐπὶ νώτου Ιεβους ἀπὸ λιβός αὕτη ἐστὶν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ διεκβάλλει τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ κορυφὴν ὄρους ἥ ἐστιν κατὰ πρόσωπον φάραγγος Ονομ πρὸς θαλάσσης ἥ ἐστιν ἐκ μέρους γῆς Ραφαϊν ἐπὶ βορρᾶ (lxx) Jos 15:8 Ascenditque per convallem filii Ennom ex latere Jebusæi ad meridiem, hæc est Jerusalem: et inde se erigens ad verticem montis, qui est contra Geennom ad occidentem in summitate vallis Raphaim contra aquilonem:(vulgate) Joshua 15:8 Then this border goeth vp to the valley of the sonne of Hinnom; on the Southside of the Iebusites: the same is Ierusalem. The border went up to the top of the mountain that lies before the Valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the Valley of Rephaim northward.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 15:9 ============ Jos 15:9 From the top of the mountain the border curved to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah and proceeded to the cities of Mount Ephron, then the border curved to Baalah (that is, Kiriath-jearim).(nas) Jos 15:9 καὶ διεκβάλλει τὸ ὅριον ἀπὸ κορυφῆς τοῦ ὄρους ἐπὶ πηγὴν ὕδατος Ναφθω καὶ διεκβάλλει εἰς τὸ ὄρος Εφρων καὶ ἐξάξει τὸ ὅριον εἰς Βααλ αὕτη ἐστὶν πόλις Ιαριμ (lxx) Jos 15:9 pertransitque a vertice montis usque ad fontem aquæ Nephtoa: et pervenit usque ad vicos montis Ephron: inclinaturque in Baala, quæ est Cariathiarim, id est, urbs silvarum.(vulgate) Joshua 15:9 So this border compasseth from the top of the mountaine vnto the fountaine of the water of Nephtoah, & goeth out to the cities of mount Ephron: and this border draweth to Baalah, which is Kiriath-iearim.(Geneva) Jos 15:9 darnach kommt sie von des Berges Spitze zu dem Wasserbrunnen Nephthoa und kommt heraus zu den Städten des Gebirges Ephron und neigt sich gen Baala, das ist Kirjath-Jearim,(dhs) Jos 15:9 Then the border went around from the top of the hill to the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and extended to the cities of Mount Ephron. And the border went around to Baalah (which is Kirjath Jearim).(nkjv) ======= Joshua 15:10 ============ Jos 15:10 The border turned about from Baalah westward to Mount Seir, and continued to the slope of Mount Jearim on the north (that is, Chesalon), and went down to Beth-shemesh and continued through Timnah.(nas) Jos 15:10 καὶ περιελεύσεται ὅριον ἀπὸ Βααλ ἐπὶ θάλασσαν καὶ παρελεύσεται εἰς ὄρος Ασσαρες ἐπὶ νώτου πόλιν Ιαριμ ἀπὸ βορρᾶ αὕτη ἐστὶν Χασλων καὶ καταβήσεται ἐπὶ Πόλιν ἡλίου καὶ παρελεύσεται ἐπὶ λίβα (lxx) Jos 15:10 Et circuit de Baala contra occidentem, usque ad montem Seir: transitque juxta latus montis Jarim ad aquilonem in Cheslon: et descendit in Bethsames, transitque in Thamna.(vulgate) Joshua 15:10 Then this border compasseth from Baalah Westward vnto mount Seir, and goeth along vnto the side of mount Iearim, which is Chesalon on the Northside: so it commeth downe to Bethshemesh, and goeth to Timnah.(Geneva) Jos 15:10 und lenkt sich herum von Baala gegen Abend zum Gebirge Seir und geht an der Mitternachtseite des Gebirges Jearim, das ist Chesalon, und kommt herab gen Beth-Semes und geht durch Thimna(dhs) Jos 15:10 Then the border turned westward from Baalah to Mount Seir, passed along to the side of Mount Jearim on the north (which is Chesalon), went down to Beth Shemesh, and passed on to Timnah.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 15:11 ============ Jos 15:11 The border proceeded to the side of Ekron northward. Then the border curved to Shikkeron and continued to Mount Baalah and proceeded to Jabneel, and the border ended at the sea.(nas) Jos 15:11 καὶ διεκβαλεῖ τὸ ὅριον κατὰ νώτου Ακκαρων ἐπὶ βορρᾶν καὶ διεκβαλεῖ τὰ ὅρια εἰς Σακχαρωνα καὶ παρελεύσεται ὄρος τῆς Βαλα καὶ διεκβαλεῖ ἐπὶ Ιαβνηλ καὶ ἔσται ἡ διέξοδος τῶν ὁρίων ἐπὶ θάλασσαν (lxx) Jos 15:11 Et pervenit contra aquilonem partis Accaron ex latere: inclinaturque Sechrona, et transit montem Baala: pervenitque in Jebneel, et magni maris contra occidentem fine concluditur.(vulgate) Joshua 15:11 Also this border goeth out vnto the side of Ekron Northwarde: and this border draweth to Shicron, and goeth along to mount Baalah, and stretcheth vnto Iabneel: and the endes of this coast are to the Sea.(Geneva) Jos 15:11 und bricht heraus an der Seite Ekrons her mitternachtwärts und zieht sich gen Sichron und geht über den Berg Baala und kommt heraus gen Jabneel, daß ihr Ende ist das Meer.(dhs) Jos 15:11 And the border went out to the side of Ekron northward. Debir aber hieß vorzeiten Kirjath-Sepher.(dhs) Jos 15:15 Then he went up from there to the inhabitants of Debir (formerly the name of Debir was Kirjath Sepher).(nkjv) ======= Joshua 15:16 ============ Jos 15:16 And Caleb said, "The one who attacks Kiriath-sepher and captures it, I will give him Achsah my daughter as a wife."(nas) Jos 15:16 καὶ εἶπεν Χαλεβ ὃς ἐὰν λάβῃ καὶ ἐκκόψῃ τὴν Πόλιν τῶν γραμμάτων καὶ κυριεύσῃ αὐτῆς δώσω αὐτῷ τὴν Αχσαν θυγατέρα μου εἰς γυναῖκα (lxx) Jos 15:16 Dixitque Caleb: Qui percusserit Cariath Sepher, et ceperit eam, dabo ei Axam filiam meam uxorem.(vulgate) Joshua 15:16 Then Caleb sayd, He that smiteth Kiriath-sepher, and taketh it, euen to him wil I giue Achsah my daughter to wife.(Geneva) Jos 15:16 Und Kaleb sprach: Wer Kirjath-Sepher schlägt und gewinnt, dem will ich meine Tochter Achsa zum Weibe geben.(dhs) Jos 15:16 And Caleb said, "He who attacks Kirjath Sepher and takes it, to him I will give Achsah my daughter as wife."(nkjv) ======= Joshua 15:17 ============ Jos 15:17 Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, captured it; so he gave him Achsah his daughter as a wife.(nas) Jos 15:17 καὶ ἔλαβεν αὐτὴν Γοθονιηλ υἱὸς Κενεζ ἀδελφὸς Χαλεβ ὁ νεώτερος καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ τὴν Αχσαν θυγατέρα αὐτοῦ αὐτῷ γυναῖκα (lxx) Jos 15:17 Cepitque eam Othoniel filius Cenez frater Caleb junior: deditque ei Axam filiam suam uxorem.(vulgate) Joshua 15:17 And Othniel, the sonne of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb tooke it: and he gaue him Achsah his daughter to wife.(Geneva) Jos 15:17 Da gewann es Othniel, der Sohn des Kenas, der Bruder Kalebs; und er gab ihm seine Tochter Achsa zum Weibe.(dhs) Jos 15:17 So Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it; and he gave him Achsah his daughter as wife.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 15:18 ============ Jos 15:18 It came about that when she came to him, she persuaded him to ask her father for a field. So she alighted from the donkey, and Caleb said to her, "What do you want?"(nas) Jos 15:18 καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ εἰσπορεύεσθαι αὐτὴν καὶ συνεβουλεύσατο αὐτῷ λέγουσα αἰτήσομαι τὸν πατέρα μου ἀγρόν καὶ ἐβόησεν ἐκ τοῦ ὄνου καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ Χαλεβ τί ἐστίν σοι (lxx) Jos 15:18 Quæ, cum pergerent simul, suasa est a viro suo ut peteret a patre suo agrum. Suspiravitque ut sedebat in asino: cui Caleb: Quid habes? inquit.(vulgate) Joshua 15:18 And as she went in to him, she moued him, to aske of her father a fielde: and she lighted off her asse, & Caleb sayd vnto her, What wilt thou?(Geneva) Jos 15:18 Und es begab sich, da sie einzog, beredete sie ihn, einen Acker zu fordern von ihrem Vater.
