Behold, he winnows barley at the threshing floor tonight.(nas) Rut 3:2 καὶ νῦν οὐχὶ Βοος γνώριμος ἡμῶν οὗ ἦς μετὰ τῶν κορασίων αὐτοῦ ἰδοὺ αὐτὸς λικμᾷ τὸν ἅλωνα τῶν κριθῶν ταύτῃ τῇ νυκτί (lxx) Rut 3:2 Booz iste, cujus puellis in agro juncta es, propinquus noster est, et hac nocte aream hordei ventilat.(vulgate) Ruth 3:2 Now also is not Boaz our kinsman, with whose maides thou wast? beholde, he winoweth barly to night in the floore.(Geneva) Rut 3:2 Nun, der Boas, unser Verwandter, bei des Dirnen du gewesen bist, worfelt diese Nacht Gerste auf seiner Tenne.(dhs) Rut 3:2 Now Boaz, whose young women you were with, is he not our relative? but do not make yourself known to the man until he has finished eating and drinking.(nas) Rut 3:3 σὺ δὲ λούσῃ καὶ ἀλείψῃ καὶ περιθήσεις τὸν ἱματισμόν σου ἐπὶ σεαυτῇ καὶ ἀναβήσῃ ἐπὶ τὸν ἅλω μὴ γνωρισθῇς τῷ ἀνδρὶ ἕως οὗ συντελέσαι αὐτὸν πιεῖν καὶ φαγεῖν (lxx) Rut 3:3 Lavare igitur, et ungere, et induere cultioribus vestimentis, et descende in aream: non te videat homo, donec esum potumque finierit.(vulgate) Ruth 3:3 Wash thy sellfe therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment vpon thee, and get thee downe to the floore: let not the man know of thee, vntill he haue left eating and drinking.(Geneva) Rut 3:3 So bade dich und salbe dich und lege dein Kleid an und gehe hinab auf die Tenne; then he will tell you what you shall do."(nas) Rut 3:4 καὶ ἔσται ἐν τῷ κοιμηθῆναι αὐτόν καὶ γνώσῃ τὸν τόπον ὅπου κοιμᾶται ἐκεῖ καὶ ἐλεύσῃ καὶ ἀποκαλύψεις τὰ πρὸς ποδῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ κοιμηθήσῃ καὶ αὐτὸς ἀπαγγελεῖ σοι ἃ ποιήσεις (lxx) Rut 3:4 Quando autem ierit ad dormiendum, nota locum in quo dormiat: veniesque et discooperies pallium, quo operitur a parte pedum, et projicies te, et ibi jacebis: ipse autem dicet quid agere debeas.(vulgate) Ruth 3:4 And when he shall sleepe, marke the place where he layeth him downe, and go, and vncouer the place of his feete, and lay thee downe, and he shall tell thee what thou shalt doe.(Geneva) Rut 3:4 Wenn er sich dann legt, so merke den Ort, da er sich hin legt, und komm und decke auf zu seinen Füßen und lege dich, so wird er dir wohl sagen, was du tun sollst.(dhs) Rut 3:4 Then it shall be, when he lies down, that you shall notice the place where he lies; and she came secretly, and uncovered his feet and lay down.(nas) Rut 3:7 καὶ ἔφαγεν Βοος καὶ ἠγαθύνθη ἡ καρδία αὐτοῦ καὶ ἦλθεν κοιμηθῆναι ἐν μερίδι τῆς στοιβῆς ἡ δὲ ἦλθεν κρυφῇ καὶ ἀπεκάλυψεν τὰ πρὸς ποδῶν αὐτοῦ (lxx) Rut 3:7 Cumque comedisset Booz, et bibisset, et factus esset hilarior, issetque ad dormiendum juxta acervum manipulorum, venit abscondite, et discooperto pallio, a pedibus ejus se projecit.(vulgate) Ruth 3:7 And when Boaz had eaten, and drunken, and cheared his heart, he went to lie downe at the end of the heape of corne, & she came softly, and vncouered the place of his feet, & lay downe.(Geneva) Rut 3:7 Und da Boas gegessen und getrunken hatte, ward sein Herz guter Dinge, und er kam und legte sich hinter einen Kornhaufen; and behold, a woman was lying at his feet.(nas) Rut 3:8 ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν τῷ μεσονυκτίῳ καὶ ἐξέστη ὁ ἀνὴρ καὶ ἐταράχθη καὶ ἰδοὺ γυνὴ κοιμᾶται πρὸς ποδῶν αὐτοῦ (lxx) Rut 3:8 Et ecce, nocte jam media expavit homo, et conturbatus est: viditque mulierem jacentem ad pedes suos,(vulgate) Ruth 3:8 And at midnight the man was afraide and caught holde: and loe, a woman lay at his feete.(Geneva) Rut 3:8 Da es nun Mitternacht ward, erschrak der Mann und beugte sich vor; und siehe, ein Weib lag zu seinen Füßen.(dhs) Rut 3:8 Now it happened at midnight that the man was startled, and turned himself; and there, a woman was lying at his feet.(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:9 ============ Rut 3:9 He said, "Who are you?" And she answered, "I am Ruth your maid. So spread your covering over your maid, for you are a close relative."(nas) Rut 3:9 εἶπεν δέ τίς εἶ σύ ἡ δὲ εἶπεν ἐγώ εἰμι Ρουθ ἡ δούλη σου καὶ περιβαλεῖς τὸ πτερύγιόν σου ἐπὶ τὴν δούλην σου ὅτι ἀγχιστεὺς εἶ σύ (lxx) Rut 3:9 et ait illi: Quæ es? Illaque respondit: Ego sum Ruth ancilla tua: expande pallium tuum super famulam tuam, quia propinquus es.(vulgate) Ruth 3:9 Then he sayd, Who art thou? And she answered, I am Ruth thine handmayd: spread therefore the wing of thy garment ouer thine handmayd: for thou art the kinsman.(Geneva) Rut 3:9 Und er sprach: Wer bist du? Sie antwortete: Ich bin Rut deine Magd. Breite deine Decke über deine Magd; denn du bist der Erbe.(dhs) Rut 3:9 And he said, "Who are you?" So she answered, "I am Ruth, your maidservant. Take your maidservant under your wing, for you are a close relative."(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:10 ============ Rut 3:10 Then he said, "May you be blessed of the Lord, my daughter. You have shown your last kindness to be better than the first by not going after young men, whether poor or rich.(nas) Rut 3:10 καὶ εἶπεν Βοος εὐλογημένη σὺ τῷ κυρίῳ θεῷ θύγατερ ὅτι ἠγάθυνας τὸ ἔλεός σου τὸ ἔσχατον ὑπὲρ τὸ πρῶτον τὸ μὴ πορευθῆναί σε ὀπίσω νεανιῶν εἴτοι πτωχὸς εἴτοι πλούσιος (lxx) Rut 3:10 Et ille: Benedicta, inquit, es a Domino, filia, et priorem misericordiam posteriore superasti: quia non est secuta juvenes, pauperes sive divites.(vulgate) Ruth 3:10 Then sayd he, Blessed be thou of the Lord, my daughter: thou hast shewed more goodnes in the latter end, then at the beginning, in as much as thou followedst not yong men, were they poore or rich.(Geneva) Rut 3:10 Er aber sprach: Gesegnet seist du dem HERRN, meine Tochter! Du hast deine Liebe hernach besser gezeigt den zuvor, daß du bist nicht den Jünglingen nachgegangen, weder reich noch arm.(dhs) Rut 3:10 Then he said, "Blessed are you of the Lord, my daughter! For you have shown more kindness at the end than at the beginning, in that you did not go after young men, whether poor or rich.(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:11 ============ Rut 3:11 Now, my daughter, do not fear. I will do for you whatever you ask, for all my people in the city know that you are a woman of excellence.(nas) Rut 3:11 καὶ νῦν θύγατερ μὴ φοβοῦ πάντα ὅσα ἐὰν εἴπῃς ποιήσω σοι οἶδεν γὰρ πᾶσα φυλὴ λαοῦ μου ὅτι γυνὴ δυνάμεως εἶ σύ (lxx) Rut 3:11 Noli ergo metuere, sed quidquid dixeris mihi, faciam tibi. Scit enim omnis populus, qui habitat intra portas urbis meæ, mulierem te esse virtutis.(vulgate) Ruth 3:11 And now, my daughter, feare not: I will doe to thee all that thou requirest: for all the citie of my people doeth knowe, that thou art a vertuous woman.(Geneva) Rut 3:11 Nun, meine Tochter, fürchte dich nicht. Alles was du sagst, will ich dir tun; denn die ganze Stadt meines Volkes weiß, daß du ein tugendsam Weib bist.(dhs) Rut 3:11 And now, my daughter, do not fear. I will do for you all that you request, for all the people of my town know that you are a virtuous woman.(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:12 ============ Rut 3:12 Now it is true I am a close relative; however, there is a relative closer than I.(nas) Rut 3:12 καὶ ὅτι ἀληθῶς ἀγχιστεὺς ἐγώ εἰμι καί γε ἔστιν ἀγχιστεὺς ἐγγίων ὑπὲρ ἐμέ (lxx) Rut 3:12 Nec abnuo me propinquum, sed est alius me propinquior.(vulgate) Ruth 3:12 And now, it is true that I am thy kinsman, howbeit there is a kinsman neerer then I.(Geneva) Rut 3:12 Nun, es ist wahr, daß ich der Erbe bin; aber es ist einer näher denn ich.(dhs) Rut 3:12 Now it is true that I am a close relative; however, there is a relative closer than I.(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:13 ============ Rut 3:13 Remain this night, and when morning comes, if he will redeem you, good; let him redeem you. But if he does not wish to redeem you, then I will redeem you, as the Lord lives. Lie down until morning."(nas) Rut 3:13 αὐλίσθητι τὴν νύκτα καὶ ἔσται τὸ πρωί ἐὰν ἀγχιστεύσῃ σε ἀγαθόν ἀγχιστευέτω ἐὰν δὲ μὴ βούληται ἀγχιστεῦσαί σε ἀγχιστεύσω σε ἐγώ ζῇ κύριος κοιμήθητι ἕως πρωί (lxx) Rut 3:13 Quiesce hac nocte: et facto mane, si te voluerit propinquitatis jure retinere, bene res acta est: sin autem ille noluerit, ego te absque ulla dubitatione suscipiam, vivit Dominus. Dormi usque mane.(vulgate) Ruth 3:13 Tarie to night, and when morning is come, if he will doe the duetie of a kinsman vnto thee, well, let him doe the kinsmans duetie: but if he will not doe the kinsmans part, then wil I doe the duetie of a kinsman, as the Lorde liueth: sleepe vntill the morning.(Geneva) Rut 3:13 Bleibe über Nacht. Morgen, so er dich nimmt, wohl; gelüstet's ihn aber nicht, dich zu nehmen, so will ich dich nehmen, so wahr der HERR lebt. Lie down until morning."(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:14 ============ Rut 3:14 So she lay at his feet until morning and rose before one could recognize another; and he said, "Let it not be known that the woman came to the threshing floor."(nas) Rut 3:14 καὶ ἐκοιμήθη πρὸς ποδῶν αὐτοῦ ἕως πρωί ἡ δὲ ἀνέστη πρὸ τοῦ ἐπιγνῶναι ἄνδρα τὸν πλησίον αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν Βοος μὴ γνωσθήτω ὅτι ἦλθεν γυνὴ εἰς τὸν ἅλωνα (lxx) Rut 3:14 Dormivit itaque ad pedes ejus, usque ad noctis abscessum. Surrexit itaque antequam homines se cognoscerent mutuo, et dixit Booz: Cave ne quis noverit quod huc veneris.(vulgate) Ruth 3:14 And she lay at his feete vntill the morning: and she arose before one could know another: for he sayd, Let no man knowe, that a woman came into the floore.(Geneva) Rut 3:14 Und sie schlief bis zum Morgen zu seinen Füßen. Und sie stand auf, ehe denn einer den andern erkennen konnte; und er gedachte, daß nur niemand innewerde, daß das Weib in die Tenne gekommen sei.(dhs) Rut 3:14 So she lay at his feet until morning, and she arose before one could recognize another. So she held it, and he measured six measures of barley and laid it on her. Then she went into the city.(nas) Rut 3:15 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ φέρε τὸ περίζωμα τὸ ἐπάνω σου καὶ ἐκράτησεν αὐτό καὶ ἐμέτρησεν ἓξ κριθῶν καὶ ἐπέθηκεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτήν καὶ εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὴν πόλιν (lxx) Rut 3:15 Et rursum: Expande, inquit, pallium tuum, quo operiris, et tene utraque manu. Qua extendente, et tenente, mensus est sex modios hordei, et posuit super eam. Quæ portans ingressa est civitatem,(vulgate) Ruth 3:15 Also he sayd, Bring the sheete that thou hast vpon thee, and holde it; when she helde it, he measured sixe measures of barly, and layde them on her, and she went into the citie.(Geneva) Rut 3:15 Und sprach: Lange her den Mantel, den du anhast, und halt ihn. And when she held it, he measured six ephahs of barley, and laid it on her. And she told her all that the man had done for her.(nas) Rut 3:16 καὶ Ρουθ εἰσῆλθεν πρὸς τὴν πενθερὰν αὐτῆς ἡ δὲ εἶπεν τίς εἶ θύγατερ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν αὐτῇ ὁ ἀνήρ (lxx) Rut 3:16 et venit ad socrum suam. Quæ dixit ei: Quid egisti, filia? Narravitque ei omnia, quæ sibi fecisset homo.(vulgate) Ruth 3:16 And when she came to her mother in law, she sayd, Who art thou, my daughter? And she tolde her all that the man had done to her,(Geneva) Rut 3:16 Sie aber kam zu ihrer Schwiegermutter; die sprach: Wie steht's mit dir, meine Tochter? Und sie sagte ihr alles, was ihr der Mann getan hatte,(dhs) Rut 3:16 So when she came to her mother-in-law, she said, "Is that you, my daughter?" Then she told her all that the man had done for her.(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:17 ============ Rut 3:17 She said, "These six measures of barley he gave to me, for he said, 'Do not go to your mother-in-law empty-handed.'"(nas) Rut 3:17 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ τὰ ἓξ τῶν κριθῶν ταῦτα ἔδωκέν μοι ὅτι εἶπεν πρός με μὴ εἰσέλθῃς κενὴ πρὸς τὴν πενθεράν σου (lxx) Rut 3:17 Et ait: Ecce sex modios hordei dedit mihi, et ait: Nolo vacuam te reverti ad socrum tuam.(vulgate) Ruth 3:17 And said, These sixe measures of barly gaue he me: for he sayd to me, Thou shalt not come emptie vnto thy mother in lawe.(Geneva) Rut 3:17 und sprach: Diese sechs Maß Gerste gab er mir; denn er sprach: Du sollst nicht leer zu deiner Schwiegermutter kommen.(dhs) Rut 3:17 And she said, "These six ephahs of barley he gave me; for he said to me, 'Do not go empty-handed to your mother-in-law.' "(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:18 ============ Rut 3:18 Then she said, "Wait, my daughter, until you know how the matter turns out; for the man will not rest until he has settled it today." (nas) Rut 3:18 ἡ δὲ εἶπεν κάθου θύγατερ ἕως τοῦ ἐπιγνῶναί σε πῶς οὐ πεσεῖται ῥῆμα οὐ γὰρ μὴ ἡσυχάσῃ ὁ ἀνήρ ἕως ἂν τελέσῃ τὸ ῥῆμα σήμερον (lxx) Rut 3:18 Dixitque Noëmi: Expecta, filia, donec videamus quem res exitum habeat: neque enim cessabit homo, nisi compleverit quod locutus est.(vulgate) Ruth 3:18 Then sayd she, My daughter, sit still, vntill thou knowe how the thing will fall: for the man wil not be in rest, vntill he hath finished the matter this same day.(Geneva) Rut 3:18 Sie aber sprach: Sei still, meine Tochter, bis du erfährst, wo es hinaus will; denn der Mann wird nicht ruhen, er bringe es denn heute zu Ende.(dhs) Rut 3:18 Then she said, "Sit still, my daughter, until you know how the matter will turn out; for the man will not rest until he has concluded the matter this day."(nkjv) ======= Ruth 4:1 ============ Rut 4:1 Now Boaz went up to the gate and sat down there, and behold, the close relative of whom Boaz spoke was passing by, so he said, "Turn aside, friend, sit down here." And he turned aside and sat down.(nas) Rut 4:1 καὶ Βοος ἀνέβη ἐπὶ τὴν πύλην καὶ ἐκάθισεν ἐκεῖ καὶ ἰδοὺ ὁ ἀγχιστευτὴς παρεπορεύετο ὃν εἶπεν Βοος καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν Βοος ἐκκλίνας κάθισον ὧδε κρύφιε καὶ ἐξέκλινεν καὶ ἐκάθισεν (lxx) Rut 4:1 Ascendit ergo Booz ad portam, et sedit ibi. Cumque vidisset propinquum præterire, de quo prius sermo habitus est, dixit ad eum: Declina paulisper, et sede hic: vocans eum nomine suo. Qui divertit, et sedit.(vulgate) Ruth 4:1 Then went Boaz vp to the gate, and sate there, and beholde, the kinsman, of whome Boaz had spoken, came by: and he sayd, Ho, snch one, come, sit downe here; he turned, and sate downe.(Geneva) Rut 4:1 Boas ging hinauf ins Tor und setzte sich daselbst.
