Da sie Hohn sprachen den Philistern und daselbst versammelt waren zum Streit und die Männer Israels hinaufzogen,(dhs) 2Sa 23:9 And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David when they defied the Philistines who were gathered there for battle, and the men of Israel had retreated.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 23:10 ============ 2Sa 23:10 He arose and struck the Philistines until his hand was weary and clung to the sword, and the Lord brought about a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to strip the slain.(nas) 2Sa 23:10 αὐτὸς ἀνέστη καὶ ἐπάταξεν ἐν τοῖς ἀλλοφύλοις ἕως οὗ ἐκοπίασεν ἡ χεὶρ αὐτοῦ καὶ προσεκολλήθη ἡ χεὶρ αὐτοῦ πρὸς τὴν μάχαιραν καὶ ἐποίησεν κύριος σωτηρίαν μεγάλην ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ καὶ ὁ λαὸς ἐκάθητο ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ πλὴν ἐκδιδύσκειν (lxx) 2Sa 23:10 Cumque ascendissent viri Israël, ipse stetit et percussit Philisthæos donec deficeret manus ejus, et obrigesceret cum gladio: fecitque Dominus salutem magnam in die illa: et populus qui fugerat, reversus est ad cæsorum spolia detrahenda.(vulgate) 2 Samuel 23:10 He arose and smote the Philistims vntill his hande was wearie, and his hande claue vnto the sworde: and the Lorde gaue great victorie the same day, and the people returned after him onely to spoyle.(Geneva) 2Sa 23:10 da stand er und schlug die Philister, bis seine Hand müde am Schwert erstarrte. And the Philistines were gathered into a troop where there was a plot of ground full of lentils, and the people fled from the Philistines.(nas) 2Sa 23:11 καὶ μετ᾽ αὐτὸν Σαμαια υἱὸς Ασα ὁ Αρουχαῖος καὶ συνήχθησαν οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι εἰς Θηρία καὶ ἦν ἐκεῖ μερὶς τοῦ ἀγροῦ πλήρης φακοῦ καὶ ὁ λαὸς ἔφυγεν ἐκ προσώπου ἀλλοφύλων (lxx) 2Sa 23:11 Et post hunc, Semma filius Age de Arari. Nevertheless he would not drink it, but poured it out to the Lord;(nas) 2Sa 23:16 καὶ διέρρηξαν οἱ τρεῖς δυνατοὶ ἐν τῇ παρεμβολῇ τῶν ἀλλοφύλων καὶ ὑδρεύσαντο ὕδωρ ἐκ τοῦ λάκκου τοῦ ἐν Βαιθλεεμ τοῦ ἐν τῇ πύλῃ καὶ ἔλαβαν καὶ παρεγένοντο πρὸς Δαυιδ καὶ οὐκ ἠθέλησεν πιεῖν αὐτὸ καὶ ἔσπεισεν αὐτὸ τῷ κυρίῳ (lxx) 2Sa 23:16 Irruperunt ergo tres fortes castra Philisthinorum, et hauserunt aquam de cisterna Bethlehem, quæ erat juxta portam, et attulerunt ad David: at ille noluit bibere, sed libavit eam Domino,(vulgate) 2 Samuel 23:16 The the three mightie brake into the host of the Philistims, and drew water out of the well of Beth-lehem that was by the gate, and tooke & brought it to Dauid, who woulde not drinke thereof, but powred it for an offring vnto ye Lord,(Geneva) 2Sa 23:16 Da brachen die drei Helden ins Lager der Philister und schöpften Wasser aus dem Brunnen zu Bethlehem unter dem Tor und trugen's und brachten's zu David. Shall I drink the blood of the men who went in jeopardy of their lives?" Therefore he would not drink it. These things the three mighty men did.(nas) 2Sa 23:17 καὶ εἶπεν ἵλεώς μοι κύριε τοῦ ποιῆσαι τοῦτο εἰ αἷμα τῶν ἀνδρῶν τῶν πορευθέντων ἐν ταῖς ψυχαῖς αὐτῶν πίομαι καὶ οὐκ ἠθέλησεν πιεῖν αὐτό ταῦτα ἐποίησαν οἱ τρεῖς δυνατοί (lxx) 2Sa 23:17 dicens: Propitius sit mihi Dominus, ne faciam hoc: num sanguinem hominum istorum qui profecti sunt, et animarum periculum bibam? Noluit ergo bibere. Hæc fecerunt tres robustissimi.(vulgate) 2 Samuel 23:17 And said, O Lord, be it farre from me, that I should doe this. Is not this the blood of the men that went in ieopardie of their liues? Therefore he woulde not drinke it.
