Are you not children of transgression, Offspring of falsehood,(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 57:5 ============ Isa 57:5 Who inflame yourselves among the oaks, Under every luxuriant tree, Who slaughter the children in the ravines, Under the clefts of the crags? (nas) Isa 57:5 οἱ παρακαλοῦντες ἐπὶ τὰ εἴδωλα ὑπὸ δένδρα δασέα σφάζοντες τὰ τέκνα αὐτῶν ἐν ταῖς φάραγξιν ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν πετρῶν (lxx) Isa 57:5 qui consolamini in diis subter omne lignum frondosum, immolantes parvulos in torrentibus, subter eminentes petras?(vulgate) Isaiah 57:5 Inflamed with idoles vnder euery greene tree? and sacrificing the children in the valleys vnder the tops of the rocks?(Geneva) Isa 57:5 die ihr in der Brunst zu den Götzen lauft unter alle grünen Bäume und schlachtet die Kinder an den Bächen, unter den Felsklippen?(dhs) Isa 57:5 Inflaming yourselves with gods under every green tree, Slaying the children in the valleys, Under the clefts of the rocks?(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 57:6 ============ Isa 57:6 "Among the smooth stones of the ravine Is your portion, they are your lot; Even to them you have poured out a drink offering, You have made a grain offering. Shall I relent concerning these things? (nas) Isa 57:6 ἐκείνη σου ἡ μερίς οὗτός σου ὁ κλῆρος κἀκείνοις ἐξέχεας σπονδὰς κἀκείνοις ἀνήνεγκας θυσίας ἐπὶ τούτοις οὖν οὐκ ὀργισθήσομαι (lxx) Isa 57:6 In partibus torrentis pars tua; hæc est sors tua: et ipsis effudisti libamen, obtulisti sacrificium. Numquid super his non indignabor?(vulgate) Isaiah 57:6 Thy portion is in the smooth stones of the riuer: they, they are thy lot: euen to them hast thou powred a drinke offering: thou hast offered a sacrifice. And you have made an agreement for yourself with them, You have loved their bed, You have looked on their manhood. (nas) Isa 57:8 καὶ ὀπίσω τῶν σταθμῶν τῆς θύρας σου ἔθηκας μνημόσυνά σου ᾤου ὅτι ἐὰν ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ ἀποστῇς πλεῖόν τι ἕξεις ἠγάπησας τοὺς κοιμωμένους μετὰ σοῦ (lxx) Isa 57:8 Et post ostium, et retro postem, posuisti memoriale tuum. Quia juxta me discooperuisti, et suscepisti adulterum, dilatasti cubile tuum, et pepigisti cum eis fœdus; dilexisti stratum eorum manu aperta.(vulgate) Isaiah 57:8 Behinde the doores also and postes hast thou set vp thy remembrance: for thou hast discouered thy selfe to another then me, and wentest vp, and diddest enlarge thy bed, and make a couenant betweene thee & them, and louedst their bed in euery place where thou sawest it.(Geneva) Isa 57:8 Und hinter die Tür und den Pfosten setzest du dein Denkmal. (nas) Isa 57:9 καὶ ἐπλήθυνας τὴν πορνείαν σου μετ᾽ αὐτῶν καὶ πολλοὺς ἐποίησας τοὺς μακρὰν ἀπὸ σοῦ καὶ ἀπέστειλας πρέσβεις ὑπὲρ τὰ ὅριά σου καὶ ἀπέστρεψας καὶ ἐταπεινώθης ἕως ᾅδου (lxx) Isa 57:9 Et ornasti te regi unguento, et multiplicasti pigmenta tua. Misisti legatos tuos procul, et humiliata es usque ad inferos.(vulgate) Isaiah 57:9 Thou wentest to the Kings with oyle, and diddest increase thine oyntments and sende thy messengers farre off, and diddest humble thy selfe vnto hell.(Geneva) Isa 57:9 Du ziehst mit Öl zum König und machst viel deiner Würze und sendest deine Botschaft in die Ferne und bist erniedrigt bis zur Hölle.(dhs) Isa 57:9 You went to the king with ointment, And increased your perfumes; You sent your messengers far off, And even descended to Sheol.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 57:10 ============ Isa 57:10 "You were tired out by the length of your road, Yet you did not say, 'It is hopeless.'You found renewed strength, Therefore you did not faint. Was I not silent even for a long time So you do not fear Me? (nas) Isa 57:11 σύ τίνα εὐλαβηθεῖσα ἐφοβήθης καὶ ἐψεύσω με καὶ οὐκ ἐμνήσθης μου οὐδὲ ἔλαβές με εἰς τὴν διάνοιαν οὐδὲ εἰς τὴν καρδίαν σου κἀγώ σε ἰδὼν παρορῶ καὶ ἐμὲ οὐκ ἐφοβήθης (lxx) Isa 57:11 Pro quo sollicita timuisti, quia mentita es, et mei non es recordata, neque cogitasti in corde tuo? Quia ego tacens et quasi non videns, et mei oblita es.(vulgate) Isaiah 57:11 And whome diddest thou reuerence or feare, seeing thou hast lyed vnto me, and hast not remembred me, neither set thy minde thereon? is it not because I holde my peace, & that of long time? therefore thou fearest not me.(Geneva) Isa 57:11 Vor wem bist du so in Sorge und fürchtest dich also, daß du mit Lügen umgehst und denkst an mich nicht und nimmst es nicht zu Herzen? (nas) Isa 57:12 κἀγὼ ἀπαγγελῶ τὴν δικαιοσύνην μου καὶ τὰ κακά σου ἃ οὐκ ὠφελήσουσίν σε (lxx) Isa 57:12 Ego annuntiabo justitiam tuam, et opera tua non proderunt tibi.(vulgate) Isaiah 57:12 I will declare thy righteousnes and thy workes, and they shall not profite thee.(Geneva) Isa 57:12 Ich will aber deine Gerechtigkeit anzeigen und deine Werke, daß sie dir nichts nütze sein sollen.(dhs) Isa 57:12 I will declare your righteousness And your works, For they will not profit you.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 57:13 ============ Isa 57:13 "When you cry out, let your collection of idols deliver you. (nas) Isa 57:17 δι᾽ ἁμαρτίαν βραχύ τι ἐλύπησα αὐτὸν καὶ ἐπάταξα αὐτὸν καὶ ἀπέστρεψα τὸ πρόσωπόν μου ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐλυπήθη καὶ ἐπορεύθη στυγνὸς ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς αὐτοῦ (lxx) Isa 57:17 Propter iniquitatem avaritiæ ejus iratus sum, et percussi eum. (nas) Isa 57:20 οἱ δὲ ἄδικοι οὕτως κλυδωνισθήσονται καὶ ἀναπαύσασθαι οὐ δυνήσονται (lxx) Isa 57:20 Impii autem quasi mare fervens, quod quiescere non potest, et redundant fluctus ejus in conculcationem et lutum.(vulgate) Isaiah 57:20 But the wicked are like the raging sea, that can not rest, whose waters cast vp myre and dirt.(Geneva) Isa 57:20 Aber die Gottlosen sind wie ein ungestümes Meer, das nicht still sein kann, und dessen Wellen Kot und Unflat auswerfen.(dhs) Isa 57:20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, When it cannot rest, Whose waters cast up mire and dirt.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 57:21 ============ Isa 57:21 "There is no peace," says my God,"for the wicked."
