For the judgment applies to you, For you have been a snare at Mizpah And a net spread out on Tabor. (nas) Hos 5:1 ἀκούσατε ταῦτα οἱ ἱερεῖς καὶ προσέχετε οἶκος Ισραηλ καὶ ὁ οἶκος τοῦ βασιλέως ἐνωτίζεσθε διότι πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἐστιν τὸ κρίμα ὅτι παγὶς ἐγενήθητε τῇ σκοπιᾷ καὶ ὡς δίκτυον ἐκτεταμένον ἐπὶ τὸ ἰταβύριον (lxx) Hos 5:1 [Audite hoc, sacerdotes, et attendite, domus Israël, et domus regis, auscultate: quia vobis judicium est, quoniam laqueus facti estis speculationi, et rete expansum super Thabor.(vulgate) Hosea 5:1 O ye Priestes, heare this, and hearken ye, O house of Israel, and giue ye eare, O house of the King: for iudgement is towarde you, because you haue bene a snare on Mizpah, and a net spred vpon Tabor.(Geneva) Hos 5:1 So hört nun dies, ihr Priester, und merke auf, du Haus Israel, und nimm zu Ohren, du Haus des Königs! denn es wird eine Strafe über euch gehen, die ihr ein Strick zu Mizpa und ein ausgespanntes Netz zu Thabor geworden seid.(dhs) Hos 5:1 "Hear this, O priests! (nas) Hos 5:2 ὃ οἱ ἀγρεύοντες τὴν θήραν κατέπηξαν ἐγὼ δὲ παιδευτὴς ὑμῶν (lxx) Hos 5:2 Et victimas declinastis in profundum; et ego eruditor omnium eorum.(vulgate) Hosea 5:2 Yet they were profounde, to decline to slaughter, though I haue bene a rebuker of them all.(Geneva) Hos 5:2 Mit ihrem Schlachten vertiefen sie sich in ihrem Verlaufen; darum muß ich sie allesamt strafen.(dhs) Hos 5:2 The revolters are deeply involved in slaughter, Though I rebuke them all.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 5:3 ============ Hos 5:3 I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hidden from Me; For now, O Ephraim, you have played the harlot, Israel has defiled itself. (nas) Hos 5:3 ἐγὼ ἔγνων τὸν Εφραιμ καὶ Ισραηλ οὐκ ἄπεστιν ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ διότι νῦν ἐξεπόρνευσεν Εφραιμ ἐμιάνθη Ισραηλ (lxx) Hos 5:3 Ego scio Ephraim, et Israël non est absconditus a me: quia nunc fornicatus est Ephraim; contaminatus est Israël.(vulgate) Hosea 5:3 I knowe Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for nowe, O Ephraim thou art become an harlot, and Israel is defiled.(Geneva) Hos 5:3 Ich kenne Ephraim wohl, und Israel ist vor mir nicht verborgen, daß Ephraim nun eine Hure und Israel unrein ist.(dhs) Hos 5:3 I know Ephraim, And Israel is not hidden from Me; For now, O Ephraim, you commit harlotry; Israel is defiled.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 5:4 ============ Hos 5:4 Their deeds will not allow them To return to their God. For a spirit of harlotry is within them, And they do not know the Lord. (nas) Hos 5:4 οὐκ ἔδωκαν τὰ διαβούλια αὐτῶν τοῦ ἐπιστρέψαι πρὸς τὸν θεὸν αὐτῶν ὅτι πνεῦμα πορνείας ἐν αὐτοῖς ἐστιν τὸν δὲ κύριον οὐκ ἐπέγνωσαν (lxx) Hos 5:4 Non dabunt cogitationes suas ut revertantur ad Deum suum, quia spiritus fornicationum in medio eorum, et Dominum non cognoverunt.(vulgate) Hosea 5:4 They will not giue their mindes to turne vnto their God: for the spirit of fornication is in the middes of them, and they haue not knowen the Lord.(Geneva) Hos 5:4 Sie denken nicht daran, daß sie sich kehren zu ihrem Gott; denn sie haben einen Hurengeist in ihrem Herzen, und den HERRN kennen sie nicht.(dhs) Hos 5:4 "They do not direct their deeds Toward turning to their God, For the spirit of harlotry is in their midst, And they do not know the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 5:5 ============ Hos 5:5 Moreover, the pride of Israel testifies against him, And Israel and Ephraim stumble in their iniquity; Judah also has stumbled with them. (nas) Hos 5:5 καὶ ταπεινωθήσεται ἡ ὕβρις τοῦ Ισραηλ εἰς πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ καὶ Ισραηλ καὶ Εφραιμ ἀσθενήσουσιν ἐν ταῖς ἀδικίαις αὐτῶν καὶ ἀσθενήσει καὶ Ιουδας μετ᾽ αὐτῶν (lxx) Hos 5:5 Et respondebit arrogantia Israël in facie ejus, et Israël et Ephraim ruent in iniquitate sua: ruet etiam Judas cum eis.(vulgate) Hosea 5:5 And the pride of Israel doth testifie to his face: therefore shal Israel and Ephraim fall in their iniquitie: Iudah also shall fall with them.(Geneva) Hos 5:5 Und die Hoffart Israels zeugt wider sie ins Angesicht. Darum sollen beide, Israel und Ephraim, fallen um ihrer Missetat willen; auch soll Juda samt ihnen fallen.(dhs) Hos 5:5 The pride of Israel testifies to his face; Therefore Israel and Ephraim stumble in their iniquity; Judah also stumbles with them.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 5:6 ============ Hos 5:6 They will go with their flocks and herds To seek the Lord, but they will not find Him; He has withdrawn from them. (nas) Hos 5:6 μετὰ προβάτων καὶ μόσχων πορεύσονται τοῦ ἐκζητῆσαι τὸν κύριον καὶ οὐ μὴ εὕρωσιν αὐτόν ὅτι ἐξέκλινεν ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν (lxx) Hos 5:6 In gregibus suis et in armentis suis vadent ad quærendum Dominum, et non invenient: ablatus est ab eis.(vulgate) Hosea 5:6 They shall goe with their sheepe, and with their bullockes to seeke the Lorde: but they shall not finde him: for he hath withdrawne himselfe from them.(Geneva) Hos 5:6 Alsdann werden sie kommen mit ihren Schafen und Rindern, den HERRN zu suchen, aber ihn nicht finden; denn er hat sich von ihnen gewandt.(dhs) Hos 5:6 "With their flocks and herds They shall go to seek the Lord, But they will not find Him; He has withdrawn Himself from them.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 5:7 ============ Hos 5:7 They have dealt treacherously against the Lord, For they have borne illegitimate children. Now the new moon will devour them with their land. (nas) Hos 5:7 ὅτι τὸν κύριον ἐγκατέλιπον ὅτι τέκνα ἀλλότρια ἐγεννήθησαν αὐτοῖς νῦν καταφάγεται αὐτοὺς ἡ ἐρυσίβη καὶ τοὺς κλήρους αὐτῶν (lxx) Hos 5:7 In Dominum prævaricati sunt, quia filios alienos genuerunt: nunc devorabit eos mensis, cum partibus suis.(vulgate) Hosea 5:7 They haue transgressed against the Lorde: for they haue begotte strange children: now shal a moneth deuoure them with their portions.(Geneva) Hos 5:7 Sie verachten den HERRN und zeugen fremde Kinder; darum wird sie auch der Neumond fressen mit ihrem Erbteil.(dhs) Hos 5:7 They have dealt treacherously with the Lord, For they have begotten pagan children. Now a New Moon shall devour them and their heritage.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 5:8 ============ Hos 5:8 Blow the horn in Gibeah, The trumpet in Ramah. Sound an alarm at Beth-aven: "Behind you, Benjamin!"(nas) Hos 5:8 σαλπίσατε σάλπιγγι ἐπὶ τοὺς βουνούς ἠχήσατε ἐπὶ τῶν ὑψηλῶν κηρύξατε ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ Ων ἐξέστη Βενιαμιν (lxx) Hos 5:8 Clangite buccina in Gabaa, tuba in Rama; ululate in Bethaven, post tergum tuum, Benjamin.(vulgate) Hosea 5:8 Blowe ye the trumpet in Gibeah, and the shaume in Ramah: crie out at Beth-auen, after thee, O Beniamin.(Geneva) Hos 5:8 Ja, blaset Posaunen zu Gibea, ja, drommetet zu Rama, ja, ruft zu Beth-Aven: "Hinter dir, Benjamin!"(dhs) Hos 5:8 "Blow the ram's horn in Gibeah, The trumpet in Ramah! Cry aloud at Beth Aven, 'Look behind you, O Benjamin!'(nkjv) ======= Hosea 5:9 ============ Hos 5:9 Ephraim will become a desolation in the day of rebuke; Among the tribes of Israel I declare what is sure. (nas) Hos 5:9 Εφραιμ εἰς ἀφανισμὸν ἐγένετο ἐν ἡμέραις ἐλέγχου ἐν ταῖς φυλαῖς τοῦ Ισραηλ ἔδειξα πιστά (lxx) Hos 5:9 Ephraim in desolatione erit in die correptionis; in tribubus Israël ostendi fidem.(vulgate) Hosea 5:9 Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel haue I caused to knowe the trueth.(Geneva) Hos 5:9 Denn Ephraim soll zur Wüste werden zu der Zeit, wann ich sie strafen werde. Davor habe ich die Stämme Israels treulich gewarnt.(dhs) Hos 5:9 Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke; Among the tribes of Israel I make known what is sure.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 5:10 ============ Hos 5:10 The princes of Judah have become like those who move a boundary; On them I will pour out My wrath like water. (nas) Hos 5:10 ἐγένοντο οἱ ἄρχοντες Ιουδα ὡς μετατιθέντες ὅρια ἐπ᾽ αὐτοὺς ἐκχεῶ ὡς ὕδωρ τὸ ὅρμημά μου (lxx) Hos 5:10 Facti sunt principes Juda quasi assumentes terminum; super eos effundam quasi aquam iram meam.(vulgate) Hosea 5:10 The princes of Iudah were like them that remoue the bounde: therefore will I powre out my wrath vpon them like water.(Geneva) Hos 5:10 Die Fürsten Juda's sind gleich denen, so die Grenze verrücken; darum will ich meinen Zorn über sie ausschütten wie Wasser.(dhs) Hos 5:10 "The princes of Judah are like those who remove a landmark; I will pour out my wrath on them like water.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 5:11 ============ Hos 5:11 Ephraim is oppressed, crushed in judgment, Because he was determined to follow man's command. (nas) Hos 5:11 κατεδυνάστευσεν Εφραιμ τὸν ἀντίδικον αὐτοῦ κατεπάτησεν κρίμα ὅτι ἤρξατο πορεύεσθαι ὀπίσω τῶν ματαίων (lxx) Hos 5:11 Calumniam patiens est Ephraim, fractus judicio, quoniam cœpit abire post sordes.(vulgate) Hosea 5:11 Ephraim is oppressed, and broken in iudgement, because he willingly walked after the commandement.(Geneva) Hos 5:11 Ephraim leidet Gewalt und wird geplagt; daran geschieht ihm recht, denn er hat sich gegeben auf Menschengebot.(dhs) Hos 5:11 Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, Because he willingly walked by human precept.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 5:12 ============ Hos 5:12 Therefore I am like a moth to Ephraim And like rottenness to the house of Judah. (nas) Hos 5:12 καὶ ἐγὼ ὡς ταραχὴ τῷ Εφραιμ καὶ ὡς κέντρον τῷ οἴκῳ Ιουδα (lxx) Hos 5:12 Et ego quasi tinea Ephraim, et quasi putredo domui Juda.(vulgate) Hosea 5:12 Therefore wil I be vnto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Iudah as a rottennesse.(Geneva) Hos 5:12 Ich bin dem Ephraim wie eine Motte und dem Hause Juda wie eine Made.(dhs) Hos 5:12 Therefore I will be to Ephraim like a moth, And to the house of Judah like rottenness.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 5:13 ============ Hos 5:13 When Ephraim saw his sickness, And Judah his wound, Then Ephraim went to Assyria And sent to King Jareb. But he is unable to heal you, Or to cure you of your wound. (nas) Hos 5:13 καὶ εἶδεν Εφραιμ τὴν νόσον αὐτοῦ καὶ Ιουδας τὴν ὀδύνην αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπορεύθη Εφραιμ πρὸς Ἀσσυρίους καὶ ἀπέστειλεν πρέσβεις πρὸς βασιλέα Ιαριμ καὶ αὐτὸς οὐκ ἠδυνάσθη ἰάσασθαι ὑμᾶς καὶ οὐ μὴ διαπαύσῃ ἐξ ὑμῶν ὀδύνη (lxx) Hos 5:13 Et vidit Ephraim languorem suum, et Juda vinculum suum; et abiit Ephraim ad Assur, et misit ad regem ultorem: et ipse non poterit sanare vos, nec solvere poterit a vobis vinculum.(vulgate) Hosea 5:13 When Ephraim sawe his sickenes, and Iudah his wound, then went Ephraim vnto Asshur, and sent vnto King Iareb: yet coulde hee not heale you, nor cure you of your wound.(Geneva) Hos 5:13 Und da Ephraim seine Krankheit und Juda seine Wunde fühlte, zog Ephraim hin zu Assur und schickte den König Jareb; aber er kann euch nicht helfen noch eure Wunde heilen.(dhs) Hos 5:13 "When Ephraim saw his sickness, And Judah saw his wound, Then Ephraim went to Assyria And sent to King Jareb; Yet he cannot cure you, Nor heal you of your wound.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 5:14 ============ Hos 5:14 For I will be like a lion to Ephraim And like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will tear to pieces and go away, I will carry away, and there will be none to deliver. (nas) Hos 5:14 διότι ἐγώ εἰμι ὡς πανθὴρ τῷ Εφραιμ καὶ ὡς λέων τῷ οἴκῳ Ιουδα καὶ ἐγὼ ἁρπῶμαι καὶ πορεύσομαι καὶ λήμψομαι καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ὁ ἐξαιρούμενος (lxx) Hos 5:14 Quoniam ego quasi leæna Ephraim, et quasi catulus leonis domui Juda. Ego, ego capiam, et vadam; tollam, et non est qui eruat.(vulgate) Hosea 5:14 For I will be vnto Ephraim as a lyon, and as a lyons whelpe to the house of Iudah: I, euen I will spoyle, and goe away: I will take away, and none shall rescue it.(Geneva) Hos 5:14 Denn ich bin dem Ephraim wie ein Löwe und dem Hause Juda wie ein junger Löwe.
