Ils s'informèrent réciproquement de leur santé, et ils entrèrent dans la tente de Moïse.(FR) 7 ׃18 וַיֵּצֵ֨א מֹשֶׁ֜ה לִקְרַ֣את חֹֽתְנ֗וֹ וַיִּשְׁתַּ֙חוּ֙ וַיִּשַּׁק־ל֔וֹ וַיִּשְׁאֲל֥וּ אִישׁ־לְרֵעֵ֖הוּ לְשָׁל֑וֹם וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ הָאֹֽהֱלָה׃ Exodus Exo 18:7 Then Moses went out to meet his father-in-law, and he bowed down and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare and went into the tent.(nasb) ======= Exodus 18:8 ============ Exo 18:8 And Moses told his father in law all that the LORD had done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, and all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how the LORD delivered them.(KJV) Exodus 18:8 Then Moses told his father in law all that the Lorde had done vnto Pharaoh, and to the Egyptians for Israels sake, and all the trauaile that had come vnto them by the way, and howe the Lord deliuered them.(Geneva) Exode 18:8 Moïse raconta à son beau-père tout ce que l'Eternel avait fait à Pharaon et à l'Egypte à cause d'Israël, toutes les souffrances qui leur étaient survenues en chemin, et comment l'Eternel les avait délivrés.(FR) 8 ׃18 וַיְסַפֵּ֤ר מֹשֶׁה֙ לְחֹ֣תְנ֔וֹ אֵת֩ כָּל־אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָשָׂ֤ה יְהוָה֙ לְפַרְעֹ֣ה וּלְמִצְרַ֔יִם עַ֖ל אוֹדֹ֣ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אֵ֤ת כָּל־הַתְּלָאָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר מְצָאָ֣תַם בַּדֶּ֔רֶךְ וַיַּצִּלֵ֖ם יְהוָֽה׃ Exodus Exo 18:8 Moses told his father-in-law all that the Lord had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, all the hardship that had befallen them on the journey, and how the Lord had delivered them.(nasb) ======= Exodus 18:9 ============ Exo 18:9 And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, whom he had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.(KJV) Exodus 18:9 And Iethro reioyced at all the goodnesse, which the Lord had shewed to Israel, and because he had deliuered them out of the hande of the Egyptians.(Geneva) Exode 18:9 Jéthro se réjouit de tout le bien que l'Eternel avait fait à Israël, et de ce qu'il l'avait délivré de la main des Egyptiens.(FR) 9 ׃18 וַיִּ֣חַדְּ יִתְר֔וֹ עַ֚ל כָּל־הַטּוֹבָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר הִצִּיל֖וֹ מִיַּ֥ד מִצְרָֽיִם׃ Exodus Exo 18:9 Jethro rejoiced over all the goodness which the Lord had done to Israel, in delivering them from the hand of the Egyptians.(nasb) ======= Exodus 18:10 ============ Exo 18:10 And Jethro said, Blessed be the LORD, who hath delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh, who hath delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.(KJV) Exodus 18:10 Therfore Iethro sayd, Blessed be the Lord who hath deliuered you out of the hande of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh: who hath also deliuered the people from vnder the hand of the Egyptians.(Geneva) Exode 18:10 Et Jéthro dit: Béni soit l'Eternel, qui vous a délivrés de la main des Egyptiens et de la main de Pharaon; qui a délivré le peuple de la main des Egyptiens!(FR) 10 ׃18 וַיֹּאמֶר֮ יִתְרוֹ֒ בָּר֣וּךְ יְהוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר הִצִּ֥יל אֶתְכֶ֛ם מִיַּ֥ד מִצְרַ֖יִם וּמִיַּ֣ד פַּרְעֹ֑ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר הִצִּיל֙ אֶת־הָעָ֔ם מִתַּ֖חַת יַד־מִצְרָֽיִם׃ Exodus Exo 18:10 So Jethro said, "Blessed be the Lord who delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians and from the hand of Pharaoh, and who delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.(nasb) ======= Exodus 18:11 ============ Exo 18:11 Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods: for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly he was above them.(KJV) Exodus 18:11 Now I know that the Lord is greater then all the gods: for as they haue dealt proudly with them, so are they recompensed.(Geneva) Exode 18:11 Je reconnais maintenant que l'Eternel est plus grand que tous les dieux; car la méchanceté des Egyptiens est retombée sur eux.(FR) 11 ׃18 עַתָּ֣ה יָדַ֔עְתִּי כִּֽי־גָד֥וֹל יְהוָ֖ה מִכָּל־הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים כִּ֣י בַדָּבָ֔ר אֲשֶׁ֥ר זָד֖וּ עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ Exodus Exo 18:11 Now I know that the Lord is greater than all the gods; indeed, it was proven when they dealt proudly against the people."(nasb) ======= Exodus 18:12 ============ Exo 18:12 And Jethro, Moses' father in law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God: and Aaron came, and all the elders of Israel, to eat bread with Moses' father in law before God.(KJV) Exodus 18:12 Then Iethro Moses father in lawe tooke burnt offerings and sacrifices to offer vnto God; Aaron & all the Elders of Israel came to eat bread with Moses father in law before God.(Geneva) Exode 18:12 Jéthro, beau-père de Moïse, offrit à Dieu un holocauste et des sacrifices. Aaron et tous les anciens d'Israël vinrent participer au repas avec le beau-père de Moïse, en présence de Dieu.(FR) 12 ׃18 וַיִּקַּ֞ח יִתְר֨וֹ חֹתֵ֥ן מֹשֶׁ֛ה עֹלָ֥ה וּזְבָחִ֖ים לֵֽאלֹהִ֑ים וַיָּבֹ֨א אַהֲרֹ֜ן וְכֹ֣ל ׀ זִקְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל לֶאֱכָל־לֶ֛חֶם עִם־חֹתֵ֥ן מֹשֶׁ֖ה לִפְנֵ֥י הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ Exodus Exo 18:12 Then Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God, and Aaron came with all the elders of Israel to eat a meal with Moses' father-in-law before God.(nasb) ======= Exodus 18:13 ============ Exo 18:13 And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses sat to judge the people: and the people stood by Moses from the morning unto the evening.(KJV) Exodus 18:13 Now on the morow, when Moses sate to iudge the people, the people stoode about Moses from morning vnto euen.(Geneva) Exode 18:13 Le lendemain, Moïse s'assit pour juger le peuple, et le peuple se tint devant lui depuis le matin jusqu'au soir.(FR) 13 ׃18 וַיְהִי֙ מִֽמָּחֳרָ֔ת וַיֵּ֥שֶׁב מֹשֶׁ֖ה לִשְׁפֹּ֣ט אֶת־הָעָ֑ם וַיַּעֲמֹ֤ד הָעָם֙ עַל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה מִן־הַבֹּ֖קֶר עַד־הָעָֽרֶב׃ Exodus Exo 18:13 It came about the next day that Moses sat to judge the people, and the people stood about Moses from the morning until the evening.(nasb) ======= Exodus 18:14 ============ Exo 18:14 And when Moses' father in law saw all that he did to the people, he said, What is this thing that thou doest to the people? why sittest thou thyself alone, and all the people stand by thee from morning unto even?(KJV) Exodus 18:14 And when Moses father in law saw all that he did to the people, he sayde, What is this that thou doest to the people? why sittest thou thy selfe alone, and all the people stande about thee from morning vnto euen?(Geneva) Exode 18:14 Le beau-père de Moïse vit tout ce qu'il faisait pour le peuple, et il dit: Que fais-tu là avec ce peuple? Pourquoi sièges-tu seul, et tout le peuple se tient-il devant toi, depuis le matin jusqu'au soir?(FR) 14 ׃18 וַיַּרְא֙ חֹתֵ֣ן מֹשֶׁ֔ה אֵ֛ת כָּל־אֲשֶׁר־ה֥וּא עֹשֶׂ֖ה לָעָ֑ם וַיֹּ֗אמֶר מָֽה־הַדָּבָ֤ר הַזֶּה֙ אֲשֶׁ֨ר אַתָּ֤ה עֹשֶׂה֙ לָעָ֔ם מַדּ֗וּעַ אַתָּ֤ה יוֹשֵׁב֙ לְבַדֶּ֔ךָ וְכָל־הָעָ֛ם נִצָּ֥ב עָלֶ֖יךָ מִן־בֹּ֥קֶר עַד־עָֽרֶב׃ Exodus Exo 18:14 Now when Moses' father-in-law saw all that he was doing for the people, he said, "What is this thing that you are doing for the people? Why do you alone sit as judge and all the people stand about you from morning until evening?"(nasb) ======= Exodus 18:15 ============ Exo 18:15 And Moses said unto his father in law, Because the people come unto me to enquire of God:(KJV) Exodus 18:15 And Moses sayd vnto his father in law, Because the people come vnto me to seeke God.(Geneva) Exode 18:15 Moïse répondit à son beau-père: C'est que le peuple vient à moi pour consulter Dieu.(FR) 15 ׃18 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֖ה לְחֹתְנ֑וֹ כִּֽי־יָבֹ֥א אֵלַ֛י הָעָ֖ם לִדְרֹ֥שׁ אֱלֹהִֽים׃ Exodus Exo 18:15 Moses said to his father-in-law, "Because the people come to me to inquire of God.(nasb) ======= Exodus 18:16 ============ Exo 18:16 When they have a matter, they come unto me; and I judge between one and another, and I do make them know the statutes of God, and his laws.(KJV) Exodus 18:16 When they haue a matter, they come vnto me, and I iudge betweene one and another, and declare the ordinances of God, and his lawes.(Geneva) Exode 18:16 Quand ils ont quelque affaire, ils viennent à moi; je prononce entre eux, et je fais connaître les ordonnances de Dieu et ses lois.(FR) 16 ׃18 כִּֽי־יִהְיֶ֨ה לָהֶ֤ם דָּבָר֙ בָּ֣א אֵלַ֔י וְשָׁ֣פַטְתִּ֔י בֵּ֥ין אִ֖ישׁ וּבֵ֣ין רֵעֵ֑הוּ וְהוֹדַעְתִּ֛י אֶת־חֻקֵּ֥י הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים וְאֶת־תּוֹרֹתָֽיו׃ Exodus Exo 18:16 When they have a dispute, it comes to me, and I judge between a man and his neighbor and make known the statutes of God and His laws." (nasb) ======= Exodus 18:17 ============ Exo 18:17 And Moses' father in law said unto him, The thing that thou doest is not good.(KJV) Exodus 18:17 But Moses father in law said vnto him, The thing which thou doest, is not well.(Geneva) Exode 18:17 Le beau-père de Moïse lui dit: Ce que tu fais n'est pas bien.(FR) 17 ׃18 וַיֹּ֛אמֶר חֹתֵ֥ן מֹשֶׁ֖ה אֵלָ֑יו לֹא־טוֹב֙ הַדָּבָ֔ר אֲשֶׁ֥ר אַתָּ֖ה עֹשֶֽׂה׃ Exodus Exo 18:17 Moses' father-in-law said to him, "The thing that you are doing is not good.(nasb) ======= Exodus 18:18 ============ Exo 18:18 Thou wilt surely wear away, both thou, and this people that is with thee: for this thing is too heavy for thee; thou art not able to perform it thyself alone.(KJV) Exodus 18:18 Thou both weariest thy selfe greatly, & this people that is with thee: for the thing is too heauie for thee: thou art not able to doe it thy selfe alone.(Geneva) Exode 18:18 Tu t'épuiseras toi-même, et tu épuiseras ce peuple qui est avec toi; car la chose est au-dessus de tes forces, tu ne pourras pas y suffire seul.(FR) 18 ׃18 נָבֹ֣ל תִּבֹּ֔ל גַּם־אַתָּ֕ה גַּם־הָעָ֥ם הַזֶּ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר עִמָּ֑ךְ כִּֽי־כָבֵ֤ד מִמְּךָ֙ הַדָּבָ֔ר לֹא־תוּכַ֥ל עֲשֹׂ֖הוּ לְבַדֶּֽךָ׃ Exodus Exo 18:18 You will surely wear out, both yourself and these people who are with you, for the task is too heavy for you; you cannot do it alone.(nasb) ======= Exodus 18:19 ============ Exo 18:19 Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee: Be thou for the people to God-ward, that thou mayest bring the causes unto God:(KJV) Exodus 18:19 Heare nowe my voyce, (I will giue thee counsell, and God shalbe with thee) be thou for the people to Godwarde, and report thou the causes vnto God,(Geneva) Exode 18:19 Maintenant écoute ma voix; je vais te donner un conseil, et que Dieu soit avec toi! Sois l'interprète du peuple auprès de Dieu, et porte les affaires devant Dieu.(FR) 19 ׃18 עַתָּ֞ה שְׁמַ֤ע בְּקֹלִי֙ אִיעָ֣צְךָ֔ וִיהִ֥י אֱלֹהִ֖ים עִמָּ֑ךְ הֱיֵ֧ה אַתָּ֣ה לָעָ֗ם מ֚וּל הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים וְהֵבֵאתָ֥ אַתָּ֛ה אֶת־הַדְּבָרִ֖ים אֶל־הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ Exodus Exo 18:19 Now listen to me: I will give you counsel, and God be with you. You be the people's representative before God, and you bring the disputes to God,(nasb) ======= Exodus 18:20 ============ Exo 18:20 And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do.(KJV) Exodus 18:20 And admonish them of the ordinances, & of the lawes, & shew them the way, wherein they must walke, and the worke that they must do.(Geneva) Exode 18:20 Enseigne-leur les ordonnances et les lois; et fais-leur connaître le chemin qu'ils doivent suivre, et ce qu'ils doivent faire.(FR) 20 ׃18 וְהִזְהַרְתָּ֣ה אֶתְהֶ֔ם אֶת־הַחֻקִּ֖ים וְאֶת־הַתּוֹרֹ֑ת וְהוֹדַעְתָּ֣ לָהֶ֗ם אֶת־הַדֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ יֵ֣לְכוּ בָ֔הּ וְאֶת־הַֽמַּעֲשֶׂ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר יַעֲשֽׂוּן׃ Exodus Exo 18:20 then teach them the statutes and the laws, and make known to them the way in which they are to walk and the work they are to do.(nasb) ======= Exodus 18:21 ============ Exo 18:21 Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:(KJV) Exodus 18:21 Moreouer, prouide thou among al the people men of courage, fearing God, men dealing truely, hating couetousnesse: and appoynt such ouer them to be rulers ouer thousandes, rulers ouer hundreths, rulers ouer fifties, and rulers ouer tennes.(Geneva) Exode 18:21 Choisis parmi tout le peuple des hommes capables, craignant Dieu, des hommes intègres, ennemis de la cupidité; établis-les sur eux comme chefs de mille, chefs de cent, chefs de cinquante et chefs de dix.(FR) 21 ׃18 וְאַתָּ֣ה תֶחֱזֶ֣ה מִכָּל־הָ֠עָם אַנְשֵׁי־חַ֜יִל יִרְאֵ֧י אֱלֹהִ֛ים אַנְשֵׁ֥י אֱמֶ֖ת שֹׂ֣נְאֵי בָ֑צַע וְשַׂמְתָּ֣ עֲלֵהֶ֗ם שָׂרֵ֤י אֲלָפִים֙ שָׂרֵ֣י מֵא֔וֹת שָׂרֵ֥י חֲמִשִּׁ֖ים וְשָׂרֵ֥י עֲשָׂרֹֽת׃ Exodus Exo 18:21 Furthermore, you shall select out of all the people able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain; and you shall place these over them as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens.(nasb) ======= Exodus 18:22 ============ Exo 18:22 And let them judge the people at all seasons: and it shall be, that every great matter they shall bring unto thee, but every small matter they shall judge: so shall it be easier for thyself, and they shall bear the burden with thee.(KJV) Exodus 18:22 And let them iudge the people at all seasons: but euery great matter let them bring vnto thee, and let them iudge all small causes: so shall it be easier for thee, when they shal beare the burden with thee.(Geneva) Exode 18:22 Qu'ils jugent le peuple en tout temps; qu'ils portent devant toi toutes les affaires importantes, et qu'ils prononcent eux-mêmes sur les petites causes.
