Tu vas aujourd'hui passer le Jourdain, pour te rendre maître de nations plus grandes et plus puissantes que toi, de villes grandes et fortifiées jusqu'au ciel,(FR) 1 ׃9 שְׁמַ֣ע יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל אַתָּ֨ה עֹבֵ֤ר הַיּוֹם֙ אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן לָבֹא֙ לָרֶ֣שֶׁת גּוֹיִ֔ם גְּדֹלִ֥ים וַעֲצֻמִ֖ים מִמֶּ֑ךָּ עָרִ֛ים גְּדֹלֹ֥ת וּבְצֻרֹ֖ת בַּשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ Deuteronomy Deu 9:1 "Hear, O Israel! You are crossing over the Jordan today to go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than you, great cities fortified to heaven,(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 9:2 ============ Deu 9:2 A people great and tall, the children of the Anakims, whom thou knowest, and of whom thou hast heard say, Who can stand before the children of Anak!(KJV) Deuteronomy 9:2 A people great and tall, euen the children of the Anakims, whom thou knowest, and of whom thou hast heard say, Who can stand before the children of Anak?(Geneva) Deutéronome 9:2 d'un peuple grand et de haute taille, les enfants d'Anak, que tu connais, et dont tu as entendu dire: Qui pourra tenir contre les enfants d'Anak?(FR) 2 ׃9 עַֽם־גָּד֥וֹל וָרָ֖ם בְּנֵ֣י עֲנָקִ֑ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר אַתָּ֤ה יָדַ֙עְתָּ֙ וְאַתָּ֣ה שָׁמַ֔עְתָּ מִ֣י יִתְיַצֵּ֔ב לִפְנֵ֖י בְּנֵ֥י עֲנָֽק׃ Deuteronomy Deu 9:2 a people great and tall, the sons of the Anakim, whom you know and of whom you have heard it said, 'Who can stand before the sons of Anak?'(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 9:3 ============ Deu 9:3 Understand therefore this day, that the LORD thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the LORD hath said unto thee.(KJV) Deuteronomy 9:3 Vnderstand therefore that this day ye Lorde thy God is he which goeth ouer before thee as a consuming fire: he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them downe before thy face: so thou shalt cast them out and destroy them suddenly, as the Lord hath said vnto thee.(Geneva) Deutéronome 9:3 Sache aujourd'hui que l'Eternel, ton Dieu, marchera lui-même devant toi comme un feu dévorant, c'est lui qui les détruira, qui les humiliera devant toi; et tu les chasseras, tu les feras périr promptement, comme l'Eternel te l'a dit.(FR) 3 ׃9 וְיָדַעְתָּ֣ הַיּ֗וֹם כִּי֩ יְהוָ֨ה אֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ הֽוּא־הָעֹבֵ֤ר לְפָנֶ֙יךָ֙ אֵ֣שׁ אֹֽכְלָ֔ה ה֧וּא יַשְׁמִידֵ֛ם וְה֥וּא יַכְנִיעֵ֖ם לְפָנֶ֑יךָ וְהֽוֹרַשְׁתָּ֤ם וְהַֽאַבַדְתָּם֙ מַהֵ֔ר כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה לָֽךְ׃ Deuteronomy Deu 9:3 Know therefore today that it is the Lord your God who is crossing over before you as a consuming fire. He will destroy them and He will subdue them before you, so that you may drive them out and destroy them quickly, just as the Lord has spoken to you.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 9:4 ============ Deu 9:4 Speak not thou in thine heart, after that the LORD thy God hath cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the LORD hath brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD doth drive them out from before thee.(KJV) Deuteronomy 9:4 Speake not thou in thine heart (after that the Lord thy God hath cast them out before thee) saying, For my righteousnesse the Lorde hath brought me in, to possesse this land: but for the wickednesse of these nations the Lorde hath cast them out before thee.(Geneva) Deutéronome 9:4 Lorsque l'Eternel, ton Dieu, les chassera devant toi, ne dis pas en ton coeur: C'est à cause de ma justice que l'Eternel me fait entrer en possession de ce pays. Car c'est à cause de la méchanceté de ces nations que l'Eternel les chasse devant toi.(FR) 4 ׃9 אַל־תֹּאמַ֣ר בִּלְבָבְךָ֗ בַּהֲדֹ֣ף יְהוָה֩ אֱלֹהֶ֨יךָ אֹתָ֥ם ׀ מִלְּפָנֶיךָ֮ לֵאמֹר֒ בְּצִדְקָתִי֙ הֱבִיאַ֣נִי יְהוָ֔ה לָרֶ֖שֶׁת אֶת־הָאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּ֑את וּבְרִשְׁעַת֙ הַגּוֹיִ֣ם הָאֵ֔לֶּה יְהוָ֖ה מוֹרִישָׁ֥ם מִפָּנֶֽיךָ׃ Deuteronomy Deu 9:4 "Do not say in your heart when the Lord your God has driven them out before you, 'Because of my righteousness the Lord has brought me in to possess this land,' but it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is dispossessing them before you.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 9:5 ============ Deu 9:5 Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine heart, dost thou go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may perform the word which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.(KJV) Deuteronomy 9:5 For thou entrest not to inherite their lande for thy righteousnesse, or for thy vpright heart: but for the wickednesse of those nations, the Lord thy God doth cast them out before thee, and that he might performe the worde which the Lord thy God sware vnto thy fathers, Abraham, Izhak, and Iacob.(Geneva) Deutéronome 9:5 Non, ce n'est point à cause de ta justice et de la droiture de ton coeur que tu entres en possession de leur pays; mais c'est à cause de la méchanceté de ces nations que l'Eternel, ton Dieu, les chasse devant toi, et c'est pour confirmer la parole que l'Eternel a jurée à tes pères, à Abraham, à Isaac et à Jacob.(FR) 5 ׃9 לֹ֣א בְצִדְקָתְךָ֗ וּבְיֹ֙שֶׁר֙ לְבָ֣בְךָ֔ אַתָּ֥ה בָ֖א לָרֶ֣שֶׁת אֶת־אַרְצָ֑ם כִּ֞י בְּרִשְׁעַ֣ת ׀ הַגּוֹיִ֣ם הָאֵ֗לֶּה יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ מוֹרִישָׁ֣ם מִפָּנֶ֔יךָ וּלְמַ֜עַן הָקִ֣ים אֶת־הַדָּבָ֗ר אֲשֶׁ֨ר נִשְׁבַּ֤ע יְהוָה֙ לַאֲבֹתֶ֔יךָ לְאַבְרָהָ֥ם לְיִצְחָ֖ק וּֽלְיַעֲקֹֽב׃ Deuteronomy Deu 9:5 It is not for your righteousness or for the uprightness of your heart that you are going to possess their land, but it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord your God is driving them out before you, in order to confirm the oath which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 9:6 ============ Deu 9:6 Understand therefore, that the LORD thy God giveth thee not this good land to possess it for thy righteousness; for thou art a stiffnecked people.(KJV) Deuteronomy 9:6 Vnderstand therefore, that ye Lord thy God giueth thee not this good land to possesse it for thy righteousnes: for thou art a stifnecked people.(Geneva) Deutéronome 9:6 Sache donc que ce n'est point à cause de ta justice que l'Eternel, ton Dieu, te donne ce bon pays pour que tu le possèdes; car tu es un peuple au cou roide.(FR) 6 ׃9 וְיָדַעְתָּ֗ כִּ֠י לֹ֤א בְצִדְקָֽתְךָ֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱ֠לֹהֶיךָ נֹתֵ֨ן לְךָ֜ אֶת־הָאָ֧רֶץ הַטּוֹבָ֛ה הַזֹּ֖את לְרִשְׁתָּ֑הּ כִּ֥י עַם־קְשֵׁה־עֹ֖רֶף אָֽתָּה׃ Deuteronomy Deu 9:6 "Know, then, it is not because of your righteousness that the Lord your God is giving you this good land to possess, for you are a stubborn people.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 9:7 ============ Deu 9:7 Remember, and forget not, how thou provokedst the LORD thy God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that thou didst depart out of the land of Egypt, until ye came unto this place, ye have been rebellious against the LORD.(KJV) Deuteronomy 9:7 Remember, and forget not, howe thou prouokedst the Lord thy God to anger in the wildernesse: since the day that thou diddest depart out of the land of Egypt, vntill ye came vnto this place ye haue rebelled against the Lord.(Geneva) Deutéronome 9:7 Souviens-toi, n'oublie pas de quelle manière tu as excité la colère de l'Eternel, ton Dieu, dans le désert. Depuis le jour où tu es sorti du pays d'Egypte jusqu'à votre arrivée dans ce lieu, vous avez été rebelles contre l'Eternel.(FR) 7 ׃9 זְכֹר֙ אַל־תִּשְׁכַּ֔ח אֵ֧ת אֲשֶׁר־הִקְצַ֛פְתָּ אֶת־יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר לְמִן־הַיּ֞וֹם אֲשֶׁר־יָצָ֣אתָ ׀ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֗יִם עַד־בֹּֽאֲכֶם֙ עַד־הַמָּק֣וֹם הַזֶּ֔ה מַמְרִ֥ים הֱיִיתֶ֖ם עִם־יְהוָֽה׃ Deuteronomy Deu 9:7 Remember, do not forget how you provoked the Lord your God to wrath in the wilderness; from the day that you left the land of Egypt until you arrived at this place, you have been rebellious against the Lord.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 9:8 ============ Deu 9:8 Also in Horeb ye provoked the LORD to wrath, so that the LORD was angry with you to have destroyed you.(KJV) Deuteronomy 9:8 Also in Horeb ye prouoked the Lorde to anger so that the Lord was wroth with you, euen to destroy you.(Geneva) Deutéronome 9:8 A Horeb, vous excitâtes la colère de l'Eternel; et l'Eternel s'irrita contre vous, et eut la pensée de vous détruire.(FR) 8 ׃9 וּבְחֹרֵ֥ב הִקְצַפְתֶּ֖ם אֶת־יְהוָ֑ה וַיִּתְאַנַּ֧ף יְהוָ֛ה בָּכֶ֖ם לְהַשְׁמִ֥יד אֶתְכֶֽם׃ Deuteronomy Deu 9:8 Even at Horeb you provoked the Lord to wrath, and the Lord was so angry with you that He would have destroyed you.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 9:9 ============ Deu 9:9 When I was gone up into the mount to receive the tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant which the LORD made with you, then I abode in the mount forty days and forty nights, I neither did eat bread nor drink water:(KJV) Deuteronomy 9:9 When I was gone vp into the mount, to receiue the tables of stone, the tables, I say, of the couenant, which the Lord made with you: and I abode in the mount fourtie daies & fourtie nights, and I neither ate bread nor yet dranke water:(Geneva) Deutéronome 9:9 Lorsque je fus monté sur la montagne, pour prendre les tables de pierre, les tables de l'alliance que l'Eternel a traitée avec vous, je demeurai sur la montagne quarante jours et quarante nuits, sans manger de pain et sans boire d'eau;(FR) 9 ׃9 בַּעֲלֹתִ֣י הָהָ֗רָה לָקַ֜חַת לוּחֹ֤ת הָֽאֲבָנִים֙ לוּחֹ֣ת הַבְּרִ֔ית אֲשֶׁר־כָּרַ֥ת יְהוָ֖ה עִמָּכֶ֑ם וָאֵשֵׁ֣ב בָּהָ֗ר אַרְבָּעִ֥ים יוֹם֙ וְאַרְבָּעִ֣ים לַ֔יְלָה לֶ֚חֶם לֹ֣א אָכַ֔לְתִּי וּמַ֖יִם לֹ֥א שָׁתִֽיתִי׃ Deuteronomy Deu 9:9 When I went up to the mountain to receive the tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant which the Lord had made with you, then I remained on the mountain forty days and nights; I neither ate bread nor drank water.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 9:10 ============ Deu 9:10 And the LORD delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them was written according to all the words, which the LORD spake with you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.(KJV) Deuteronomy 9:10 Then the Lorde deliuered me two tables of stone, written with the finger of God, and in them was conteyned according to all the wordes which the Lorde had said vnto you in the mount out of the middes of the fire, in the day of the assemblie.(Geneva) Deutéronome 9:10 et l'Eternel me donna les deux tables de pierre écrites du doigt de Dieu, et contenant toutes les paroles que l'Eternel vous avait dites sur la montagne, du milieu du feu, le jour de l'assemblée.(FR) 10 ׃9 וַיִּתֵּ֨ן יְהוָ֜ה אֵלַ֗י אֶת־שְׁנֵי֙ לוּחֹ֣ת הָֽאֲבָנִ֔ים כְּתֻבִ֖ים בְּאֶצְבַּ֣ע אֱלֹהִ֑ים וַעֲלֵיהֶ֗ם כְּֽכָל־הַדְּבָרִ֡ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֶּר֩ יְהוָ֨ה עִמָּכֶ֥ם בָּהָ֛ר מִתּ֥וֹךְ הָאֵ֖שׁ בְּי֥וֹם הַקָּהָֽל׃ Deuteronomy Deu 9:10 The Lord gave me the two tablets of stone written by the finger of God; for thy people which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt have corrupted themselves; they are quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them; they have made them a molten image.(KJV) Deuteronomy 9:12 And the Lord said vnto me, Arise, get thee downe quickly from hence: for thy people which thou hast brought out of Egypt, haue corrupt their wayes: they are soone turned out of the way, which I commanded them: they haue made them a molten image.(Geneva) Deutéronome 9:12 L'Eternel me dit alors: Lève-toi, descends en hâte d'ici; car ton peuple, que tu as fait sortir d'Egypte, s'est corrompu. Ils se sont promptement écartés de la voie que je leur avais prescrite; ils se sont fait une image de fonte.(FR) 12 ׃9 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֵלַ֗י ק֣וּם רֵ֤ד מַהֵר֙ מִזֶּ֔ה כִּ֚י שִׁחֵ֣ת עַמְּךָ֔ אֲשֶׁ֥ר הוֹצֵ֖אתָ מִמִּצְרָ֑יִם סָ֣רוּ מַהֵ֗ר מִן־הַדֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוִּיתִ֔ם עָשׂ֥וּ לָהֶ֖ם מַסֵּכָֽה׃ Deuteronomy Deu 9:12 Then the Lord said to me, 'Arise, go down from here quickly, for your people whom you brought out of Egypt have acted corruptly. They have quickly turned aside from the way which I commanded them; they have made a molten image for themselves.'(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 9:13 ============ Deu 9:13 Furthermore the LORD spake unto me, saying, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:(KJV) Deuteronomy 9:13 Furthermore, the Lord spake vnto me, saying, I haue seene this people, and beholde, it is a stifnecked people.(Geneva) Deutéronome 9:13 L'Eternel me dit: Je vois que ce peuple est un peuple au cou roide.(FR) 13 ׃9 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֣י לֵאמֹ֑ר רָאִ֙יתִי֙ אֶת־הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה וְהִנֵּ֥ה עַם־קְשֵׁה־עֹ֖רֶף הֽוּא׃ Deuteronomy Deu 9:13 The Lord spoke further to me, saying, 'I have seen this people, and indeed, it is a stubborn people.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 9:14 ============ Deu 9:14 Let me alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under heaven: and I will make of thee a nation mightier and greater than they.(KJV) Deuteronomy 9:14 Let me alone, that I may destroy them, & put out their name fro vnder heaue, & I wil make of thee a mightie nation, & greater then they be.(Geneva) Deutéronome 9:14 Laisse-moi les détruire et effacer leur nom de dessous les cieux; et je ferai de toi une nation plus puissante et plus nombreuse que ce peuple.(FR) 14 ׃9 הֶ֤רֶף מִמֶּ֙נִּי֙ וְאַשְׁמִידֵ֔ם וְאֶמְחֶ֣ה אֶת־שְׁמָ֔ם מִתַּ֖חַת הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם וְאֶֽעֱשֶׂה֙ אֽוֹתְךָ֔ לְגוֹי־עָצ֥וּם וָרָ֖ב מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ Deuteronomy Deu 9:14 Let Me alone, that I may destroy them and blot out their name from under heaven; and I will make of you a nation mightier and greater than they.'(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 9:15 ============ Deu 9:15 So I turned and came down from the mount, and the mount burned with fire: and the two tables of the covenant were in my two hands.(KJV) Deuteronomy 9:15 So I returned, and came downe from the Mount (and the Mount burnt with fire, and ye two Tables of the couenant were in my two handes)(Geneva) Deutéronome 9:15 Je retournai et je descendis de la montagne toute en feu, les deux tables de l'alliance dans mes deux mains.(FR) 15 ׃9 וָאֵ֗פֶן וָֽאֵרֵד֙ מִן־הָהָ֔ר וְהָהָ֖ר בֹּעֵ֣ר בָּאֵ֑שׁ וּשְׁנֵי֙ לֻחֹ֣ת הַבְּרִ֔ית עַ֖ל שְׁתֵּ֥י יָדָֽי׃ Deuteronomy Deu 9:15 "So I turned and came down from the mountain while the mountain was burning with fire, and the two tablets of the covenant were in my two hands.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 9:16 ============ Deu 9:16 And I looked, and, behold, ye had sinned against the LORD your God, and had made you a molten calf: ye had turned aside quickly out of the way which the LORD had commanded you.(KJV) Deuteronomy 9:16 Then I looked, and beholde, ye had sinned against the Lord your God: for ye had made you a molten calfe, and had turned quickly out of the way which the Lord had commanded you.(Geneva) Deutéronome 9:16 Je regardai, et voici, vous aviez péché contre l'Eternel, votre Dieu, vous vous étiez fait un veau de fonte, vous vous étiez promptement écartés de la voie que vous avait prescrite l'Eternel.(FR) 16 ׃9 וָאֵ֗רֶא וְהִנֵּ֤ה חֲטָאתֶם֙ לַיהוָ֣ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֔ם עֲשִׂיתֶ֣ם לָכֶ֔ם עֵ֖גֶל מַסֵּכָ֑ה סַרְתֶּ֣ם מַהֵ֔ר מִן־הַדֶּ֕רֶךְ אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶתְכֶֽם׃ Deuteronomy Deu 9:16 And I saw that you had indeed sinned against the Lord your God.
