It shall be granted you. And what is your request? Even to half of the kingdom it shall be done."(nas) Est 7:2 εἶπεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεὺς Εσθηρ τῇ δευτέρᾳ ἡμέρᾳ ἐν τῷ πότῳ τί ἐστιν Εσθηρ βασίλισσα καὶ τί τὸ αἴτημά σου καὶ τί τὸ ἀξίωμά σου καὶ ἔστω σοι ἕως τοῦ ἡμίσους τῆς βασιλείας μου (lxx) Est 7:2 Dixitque ei rex etiam secunda die, postquam vino incaluerat: Quæ est petitio tua, Esther, ut detur tibi? et quid vis fieri? etiam si dimidiam partem regni mei petieris, impetrabis.(vulgate) Esther 7:2 And the King said againe vnto Ester on the second day at the banket of wine, What is thy petition, Queene Ester, that it may be giue thee? and what is thy request? It shalbe euen perfourmed vnto the halfe of the kingdome.(Geneva) Est 7:2 sprach der König zu Est r auch des andern Tages, da er Wein getrunken hatte: Was bittest du, Königin Est r, daß man's dir gebe? Und was forderst du? Auch das halbe Königreich, es soll geschehen.(dhs) Est 7:2 And on the second day, at the banquet of wine, the king again said to Esther, "What is your petition, Queen Esther? It shall be granted you. And what is your request, up to half the kingdom? It shall be done!"(nkjv) ======= Esther 7:3 ============ Est 7:3 Then Queen Esther replied, "If I have found favor in your sight, O king, and if it pleases the king, let my life be given me as my petition, and my people as my request;(nas) Est 7:3 καὶ ἀποκριθεῖσα εἶπεν εἰ εὗρον χάριν ἐνώπιον τοῦ βασιλέως δοθήτω ἡ ψυχή μου τῷ αἰτήματί μου καὶ ὁ λαός μου τῷ ἀξιώματί μου (lxx) Est 7:3 Ad quem illa respondit: Si inveni gratiam in oculis tuis o rex, et si tibi placet, dona mihi animam meam pro qua rogo, et populum meum pro quo obsecro.(vulgate) Esther 7:3 And Ester the Queene answered, and said, If I haue found fauour in thy sight, O King, and if it please the King, let my life be giuen me at my petition, and my people at my request.(Geneva) Est 7:3 Est r, die Königin, antwortete und sprach: habe ich Gnade vor dir gefunden, o König, und gefällt es dem König, so gib mir mein Leben um meiner Bitte willen und mein Volk um meines Begehrens willen.(dhs) Est 7:3 Then Queen Esther answered and said, "If I have found favor in your sight, O king, and if it pleases the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request.(nkjv) ======= Esther 7:4 ============ Est 7:4 for we have been sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be killed and to be annihilated. Now if we had only been sold as slaves, men and women, I would have remained silent, for the trouble would not be commensurate with the annoyance to the king."(nas) Est 7:4 ἐπράθημεν γὰρ ἐγώ τε καὶ ὁ λαός μου εἰς ἀπώλειαν καὶ διαρπαγὴν καὶ δουλείαν ἡμεῖς καὶ τὰ τέκνα ἡμῶν εἰς παῖδας καὶ παιδίσκας καὶ παρήκουσα οὐ γὰρ ἄξιος ὁ διάβολος τῆς αὐλῆς τοῦ βασιλέως (lxx) Est 7:4 Traditi enim sumus ego et populus meus, ut conteramur, jugulemur, et pereamus. Atque utinam in servos et famulas venderemur: esset tolerabile malum, et gemens tacerem: nunc autem hostis noster est, cujus crudelitas redundat in regem.(vulgate) Esther 7:4 For we are solde, I, & my people, to be destroyed, to be slayne and to perish: but if we were solde for seruants, and for handmaides, I woulde haue helde my tongue: although the aduersarie could not recompense the Kings losse.(Geneva) Est 7:4 Denn wir sind verkauft, ich und mein Volk, daß wir vertilgt, erwürgt und umgebracht werden. Und wären wir doch nur zu Knechten und Mägden verkauft, so wollte ich schweigen; so würde der Feind doch dem König nicht schaden.(dhs) Est 7:4 For we have been sold, my people and I, to be destroyed, to be killed, and to be annihilated. Had we been sold as male and female slaves, I would have held my tongue, although the enemy could never compensate for the king's loss."(nkjv) ======= Esther 7:5 ============ Est 7:5 Then King Ahasuerus asked Queen Esther, "Who is he, and where is he, who would presume to do thus?"(nas) Est 7:5 εἶπεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεύς τίς οὗτος ὅστις ἐτόλμησεν ποιῆσαι τὸ πρᾶγμα τοῦτο (lxx) Est 7:5 Respondensque rex Assuerus, ait: Quis est iste, et cujus potentiæ, ut hæc audeat facere?(vulgate) Esther 7:5 Then King Ahashuerosh answered, and said vnto the Queene Ester, Who is he? and where is he that presumeth to doe thus?(Geneva) Est 7:5 Der König Ahasveros redete und sprach zu der Königin Est r: Wer ist der, oder wo ist der, der solches in seinen Sinn nehmen dürfe, also zu tun?(dhs) Est 7:5 So King Ahasuerus answered and said to Queen Esther, "Who is he, and where is he, who would dare presume in his heart to do such a thing?"(nkjv) ======= Esther 7:6 ============ Est 7:6 Esther said, "A foe and an enemy is this wicked Haman!" Then Haman became terrified before the king and queen. (nas) Est 7:6 εἶπεν δὲ Εσθηρ ἄνθρωπος ἐχθρὸς Αμαν ὁ πονηρὸς οὗτος Αμαν δὲ ἐταράχθη ἀπὸ τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ τῆς βασιλίσσης (lxx) Est 7:6 Dixitque Esther: Hostis et inimicus noster pessimus iste est Aman. Quod ille audiens, illico obstupuit, vultum regis ac reginæ ferre non sustinens.(vulgate) Esther 7:6 And Ester said, The aduersarie and enemie is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afrayde before the King and the Queene.(Geneva) Est 7:6 Est r sprach: Der Feind und Widersacher ist dieser böse Haman. Haman entsetzte sich vor dem König und der Königin.(dhs) Est 7:6 And Esther said, "The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman!" So Haman was terrified before the king and queen.(nkjv) ======= Esther 7:7 ============ Est 7:7 The king arose in his anger from drinking wine and went into the palace garden; but Haman stayed to beg for his life from Queen Esther, for he saw that harm had been determined against him by the king.(nas) Est 7:7 ὁ δὲ βασιλεὺς ἐξανέστη ἐκ τοῦ συμποσίου εἰς τὸν κῆπον ὁ δὲ Αμαν παρῃτεῖτο τὴν βασίλισσαν ἑώρα γὰρ ἑαυτὸν ἐν κακοῖς ὄντα (lxx) Est 7:7 Rex autem iratus surrexit, et de loco convivii intravit in hortum arboribus consitum. Aman quoque surrexit ut rogaret Esther reginam pro anima sua: intellexit enim a rege sibi paratum malum.(vulgate) Esther 7:7 And the King arose from ye banket of wine in his wrath, and went into the palace garden: but Haman stood vp, to make request for his life to the Queene Ester: for he sawe that there was a mischiefe prepared for him of the King.(Geneva) Est 7:7 Und der König stand auf vom Mahl und vom Wein in seinem Grimm und ging in den Garten am Hause. Und Haman stand auf und bat die Königin Est r um sein Leben; denn er sah, daß ihm ein Unglück vom König schon bereitet war.(dhs) Est 7:7 Then the king arose in his wrath from the banquet of wine and went into the palace garden; but Haman stood before Queen Esther, pleading for his life, for he saw that evil was determined against him by the king.(nkjv) ======= Esther 7:8 ============ Est 7:8 Now when the king returned from the palace garden into the place where they were drinking wine, Haman was falling on the couch where Esther was. Then the king said, "Will he even assault the queen with me in the house?" As the word went out of the king's mouth, they covered Haman's face.(nas) Est 7:8 ἐπέστρεψεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐκ τοῦ κήπου Αμαν δὲ ἐπιπεπτώκει ἐπὶ τὴν κλίνην ἀξιῶν τὴν βασίλισσαν εἶπεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεύς ὥστε καὶ τὴν γυναῖκα βιάζῃ ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ μου Αμαν δὲ ἀκούσας διετράπη τῷ προσώπῳ (lxx) Est 7:8 Qui cum reversus esset de horto nemoribus consito, et intrasset convivii locum, reperit Aman super lectulum corruisse in quo jacebat Esther, et ait: Etiam reginam vult opprimere, me præsente, in domo mea. Necdum verbum de ore regis exierat, et statim operuerunt faciem ejus.(vulgate) Esther 7:8 And when the King came againe out of the palace garden, into the house where they dranke wine, Haman was fallen vpon the bed whereon Ester sate! therefore the King sayd, Will he force the Queene also before me in the house? As the worde went out of the Kings mouth, they couered Hamans face.(Geneva) Est 7:8 Und da der König wieder aus dem Garten am Hause in den Saal, da man gegessen hatte, kam, lag Haman an der Bank, darauf Est r saß. Da sprach der König: Will er auch der Königin Gewalt tun bei mir im Hause? Da das Wort aus des Königs Munde ging, verhüllten sie Haman das Antlitz.(dhs) Est 7:8 When the king returned from the palace garden to the place of the banquet of wine, Haman had fallen across the couch where Esther was. Then the king said, "Will he also assault the queen while I am in the house?" As the word left the king's mouth, they covered Haman's face.(nkjv) ======= Esther 7:9 ============ Est 7:9 Then Harbonah, one of the eunuchs who were before the king said, "Behold indeed, the gallows standing at Haman's house fifty cubits high, which Haman made for Mordecai who spoke good on behalf of the king!" And the king said, "Hang him on it."(nas) Est 7:9 εἶπεν δὲ Βουγαθαν εἷς τῶν εὐνούχων πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα ἰδοὺ καὶ ξύλον ἡτοίμασεν Αμαν Μαρδοχαίῳ τῷ λαλήσαντι περὶ τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ὤρθωται ἐν τοῖς Αμαν ξύλον πηχῶν πεντήκοντα εἶπεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεύς σταυρωθήτω ἐπ᾽ αὐτοῦ (lxx) Est 7:9 Dixitque Harbona, unus de eunuchis, qui stabant in ministerio regis: En lignum quod paraverat Mardochæo, qui locutus est pro rege, stat in domo Aman, habens altitudinis quinquaginta cubitos. Cui dixit rex: Appendite eum in eo.(vulgate) Esther 7:9 And Harbonah one of the eunuches, sayde in the presence of the King, Beholde, there standeth yet the tree in Hamans house fiftie cubites hie, which Haman had prepared for Mordecai, that spake good for the King. Then the King sayd, Hang him thereon.(Geneva) Est 7:9 Und Harbona, der Kämmerer einer vor dem König, sprach: Siehe, es steht ein Baum im Hause Haman, fünfzig Ellen hoch, den er Mardochai gemacht hatte, der Gutes für den König geredet hat. Der König sprach: Laßt ihn daran hängen!(dhs) Est 7:9 Now Harbonah, one of the eunuchs, said to the king, "Look! The gallows, fifty cubits high, which Haman made for Mordecai, who spoke good on the king's behalf, is standing at the house of Haman." Then the king said, "Hang him on it!"(nkjv) ======= Esther 7:10 ============ Est 7:10 So they hanged Haman on the gallows which he had prepared for Mordecai, and the king's anger subsided. (nas) Est 7:10 καὶ ἐκρεμάσθη Αμαν ἐπὶ τοῦ ξύλου ὃ ἡτοίμασεν Μαρδοχαίῳ καὶ τότε ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐκόπασεν τοῦ θυμοῦ (lxx) Est 7:10 Suspensus est itaque Aman in patibulo quod paraverat Mardochæo: et regis ira quievit.(vulgate) Esther 7:10 So they hanged Haman on the tree, that he had prepared for Mordecai: then was the Kings wrath pacified.(Geneva) Est 7:10 Also hängte man Haman an den Baum, den er Mardochai gemacht hatte. Da legte sich des Königs Zorn.(dhs) Est 7:10 So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the king's wrath subsided.(nkjv) ======= Esther 8:1 ============ Est 8:1 On that day King Ahasuerus gave the house of Haman, the enemy of the Jews, to Queen Esther; and Mordecai came before the king, for Esther had disclosed what he was to her.(nas) Est 8:1 καὶ ἐν αὐτῇ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ὁ βασιλεὺς Ἀρταξέρξης ἐδωρήσατο Εσθηρ ὅσα ὑπῆρχεν Αμαν τῷ διαβόλῳ καὶ Μαρδοχαῖος προσεκλήθη ὑπὸ τοῦ βασιλέως ὑπέδειξεν γὰρ Εσθηρ ὅτι ἐνοικείωται αὐτῇ (lxx) Est 8:1 Die illo dedit rex Assuerus Esther reginæ domum Aman adversarii Judæorum, et Mardochæus ingressus est ante faciem regis. Confessa est enim ei Esther quod esset patruus suus.(vulgate) Esther 8:1 The same day did King Ahashuerosh giue the house of Haman the aduersarie of the Iewes vnto the Queene Ester; Mordecai came before the King: for Ester tolde what hee was vnto her.(Geneva) Est 8:1 An dem Tage gab der König Ahasveros der Königin Est r das Haus Hamans, des Judenfeindes. Und Mardochai kam vor den König; denn Est r sagte an, wie er ihr zugehörte.(dhs) Est 8:1 On that day King Ahasuerus gave Queen Esther the house of Haman, the enemy of the Jews.
