et, comme ses fils étaient aux champs avec son troupeau, Jacob garda le silence jusqu'à leur retour.(FR) 5 ׃34 וְיַעֲקֹ֣ב שָׁמַ֗ע כִּ֤י טִמֵּא֙ אֶת־דִּינָ֣ה בִתּ֔וֹ וּבָנָ֛יו הָי֥וּ אֶת־מִקְנֵ֖הוּ בַּשָּׂדֶ֑ה וְהֶחֱרִ֥שׁ יַעֲקֹ֖ב עַד־בֹּאָֽם׃ Genesis Gen 34:5 Now Jacob heard that he had defiled Dinah his daughter; but his sons were with his livestock in the field, so Jacob kept silent until they came in.(nasb) ======= Genesis 34:6 ============ Gen 34:6 And Hamor the father of Shechem went out unto Jacob to commune with him.(KJV) Genesis 34:6 Then Hamor the father of Shechem went out vnto Iaakob to commune with him.(Geneva) Genèse 34:6 Hamor, père de Sichem, se rendit auprès de Jacob pour lui parler.(FR) 6 ׃34 וַיֵּצֵ֛א חֲמ֥וֹר אֲבִֽי־שְׁכֶ֖ם אֶֽל־יַעֲקֹ֑ב לְדַבֵּ֖ר אִתּֽוֹ׃ Genesis Gen 34:6 Then Hamor the father of Shechem went out to Jacob to speak with him.(nasb) ======= Genesis 34:7 ============ Gen 34:7 And the sons of Jacob came out of the field when they heard it: and the men were grieved, and they were very wroth, because he had wrought folly in Israel in lying with Jacob's daughter: which thing ought not to be done.(KJV) Genesis 34:7 And whe the sonnes of Iaakob were come out of the fielde and heard it, it grieued the men, & they were very angry, because he had wrought villenie in Israel, in that he had lyen with Iaakobs daughter: which thing ought not to be done.(Geneva) Genèse 34:7 Et les fils de Jacob revenaient des champs, lorsqu'ils apprirent la chose; ces hommes furent irrités et se mirent dans une grande colère, parce que Sichem avait commis une infamie en Israël, en couchant avec la fille de Jacob, ce qui n'aurait pas dû se faire.(FR) 7 ׃34 וּבְנֵ֨י יַעֲקֹ֜ב בָּ֤אוּ מִן־הַשָּׂדֶה֙ כְּשָׁמְעָ֔ם וַיִּֽתְעַצְּבוּ֙ הָֽאֲנָשִׁ֔ים וַיִּ֥חַר לָהֶ֖ם מְאֹ֑ד כִּֽי־נְבָלָ֞ה עָשָׂ֣ה בְיִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל לִשְׁכַּב֙ אֶת־בַּֽת־יַעֲקֹ֔ב וְכֵ֖ן לֹ֥א יֵעָשֶֽׂה׃ Genesis Gen 34:7 Now the sons of Jacob came in from the field when they heard it; and the men were grieved, and they were very angry because he had done a disgraceful thing in Israel by lying with Jacob's daughter, for such a thing ought not to be done.(nasb) ======= Genesis 34:8 ============ Gen 34:8 And Hamor communed with them, saying, The soul of my son Shechem longeth for your daughter: I pray you give her him to wife.(KJV) Genesis 34:8 And Hamor communed with them, saying, the soule of my sonne Shechem longeth for your daughter: giue her him to wife, I pray you.(Geneva) Genèse 34:8 Hamor leur adressa ainsi la parole: Le coeur de Sichem, mon fils, s'est attaché à votre fille; please give her to him in marriage.(nasb) ======= Genesis 34:9 ============ Gen 34:9 And make ye marriages with us, and give your daughters unto us, and take our daughters unto you.(KJV) Genesis 34:9 So make affinitie with vs: giue your daughters vnto vs, and take our daughters vnto you,(Geneva) Genèse 34:9 Alliez-vous avec nous; vous nous donnerez vos filles, et vous prendrez pour vous les nôtres.(FR) 9 ׃34 וְהִֽתְחַתְּנ֖וּ אֹתָ֑נוּ בְּנֹֽתֵיכֶם֙ תִּתְּנוּ־לָ֔נוּ וְאֶת־בְּנֹתֵ֖ינוּ תִּקְח֥וּ לָכֶֽם׃ Genesis Gen 34:9 Intermarry with us; give your daughters to us and take our daughters for yourselves.(nasb) ======= Genesis 34:10 ============ Gen 34:10 And ye shall dwell with us: and the land shall be before you; dwell and trade ye therein, and get you possessions therein.(KJV) Genesis 34:10 And ye shall dwell with vs, and the lande shalbe before you: dwell, and doe your businesse in it, and haue your possessions therein.(Geneva) Genèse 34:10 Vous habiterez avec nous, et le pays sera à votre disposition; mais accordez-moi pour femme la jeune fille.(FR) 12 ׃34 הַרְבּ֨וּ עָלַ֤י מְאֹד֙ מֹ֣הַר וּמַתָּ֔ן וְאֶ֨תְּנָ֔ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר תֹּאמְר֖וּ אֵלָ֑י וּתְנוּ־לִ֥י אֶת־הַֽנַּעֲרָ֖ לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ Genesis Gen 34:12 Ask me ever so much bridal payment and gift, and I will give according as you say to me; but give me the girl in marriage."(nasb) ======= Genesis 34:13 ============ Gen 34:13 And the sons of Jacob answered Shechem and Hamor his father deceitfully, and said, because he had defiled Dinah their sister:(KJV) Genesis 34:13 Then the sonnes of Iaakob answered Shechem and Hamor his father, talking deceitfully, because he had defiled Dinah their sister,(Geneva) Genèse 34:13 Les fils de Jacob répondirent et parlèrent avec ruse à Sichem et à Hamor, son père, parce que Sichem avait déshonoré Dina, leur soeur.(FR) 13 ׃34 וַיַּעֲנ֨וּ בְנֵֽי־יַעֲקֹ֜ב אֶת־שְׁכֶ֨ם וְאֶת־חֲמ֥וֹר אָבִ֛יו בְּמִרְמָ֖ה וַיְדַבֵּ֑רוּ אֲשֶׁ֣ר טִמֵּ֔א אֵ֖ת דִּינָ֥ה אֲחֹתָֽם׃ Genesis Gen 34:13 But Jacob's sons answered Shechem and his father Hamor with deceit, because he had defiled Dinah their sister.(nasb) ======= Genesis 34:14 ============ Gen 34:14 And they said unto them, We cannot do this thing, to give our sister to one that is uncircumcised; for that were a reproach unto us:(KJV) Genesis 34:14 And they said vnto them, We can not do this thing, to giue our sister to an vncircumcised man: for that were a reproofe vnto vs.(Geneva) Genèse 34:14 Ils leur dirent: C'est une chose que nous ne pouvons pas faire, que de donner notre soeur à un homme incirconcis; car ce serait un opprobre pour nous.(FR) 14 ׃34 וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם לֹ֤א נוּכַל֙ לַעֲשׂוֹת֙ הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֔ה לָתֵת֙ אֶת־אֲחֹתֵ֔נוּ לְאִ֖ישׁ אֲשֶׁר־ל֣וֹ עָרְלָ֑ה כִּֽי־חֶרְפָּ֥ה הִ֖וא לָֽנוּ׃ Genesis Gen 34:14 They said to them, "We cannot do this thing, to give our sister to one who is uncircumcised, for that would be a disgrace to us.(nasb) ======= Genesis 34:15 ============ Gen 34:15 But in this will we consent unto you: If ye will be as we be, that every male of you be circumcised;(KJV) Genesis 34:15 But in this will we consent vnto you, if ye will be as we are, that euery man childe among you be circumcised:(Geneva) Genèse 34:15 Nous ne consentirons à votre désir qu'à la condition que vous deveniez comme nous, et que tout mâle parmi vous soit circoncis.(FR) 15 ׃34 אַךְ־בְּזֹ֖את נֵא֣וֹת לָכֶ֑ם אִ֚ם תִּהְי֣וּ כָמֹ֔נוּ לְהִמֹּ֥ל לָכֶ֖ם כָּל־זָכָֽר׃ Genesis Gen 34:15 Only on this condition will we consent to you: if you will become like us, in that every male of you be circumcised,(nasb) ======= Genesis 34:16 ============ Gen 34:16 Then will we give our daughters unto you, and we will take your daughters to us, and we will dwell with you, and we will become one people.(KJV) Genesis 34:16 Then will we giue our daughters to you, and we will take your daughters to vs, and will dwell with you, and be one people.(Geneva) Genèse 34:16 Nous vous donnerons alors nos filles, et nous prendrons pour nous les vôtres; then will we take our daughter, and we will be gone.(KJV) Genesis 34:17 But if ye will not hearken vnto vs to be circumcised, then will we take our daughter and depart.(Geneva) Genèse 34:17 Mais si vous ne voulez pas nous écouter et vous faire circoncire, nous prendrons notre fille, et nous nous en irons.(FR) 17 ׃34 וְאִם־לֹ֧א תִשְׁמְע֛וּ אֵלֵ֖ינוּ לְהִמּ֑וֹל וְלָקַ֥חְנוּ אֶת־בִּתֵּ֖נוּ וְהָלָֽכְנוּ׃ Genesis Gen 34:17 But if you will not listen to us to be circumcised, then we will take our daughter and go."(nasb) ======= Genesis 34:18 ============ Gen 34:18 And their words pleased Hamor, and Shechem Hamor's son.(KJV) Genesis 34:18 Nowe their wordes pleased Hamor, and Shechem Hamors sonne.(Geneva) Genèse 34:18 Leurs paroles eurent l'assentiment de Hamor et de Sichem, fils de Hamor.(FR) 18 ׃34 וַיִּֽיטְב֥וּ דִבְרֵיהֶ֖ם בְּעֵינֵ֣י חֲמ֑וֹר וּבְעֵינֵ֖י שְׁכֶ֥ם בֶּן־חֲמֽוֹר׃ Genesis Gen 34:18 Now their words seemed reasonable to Hamor and Shechem, Hamor's son.(nasb) ======= Genesis 34:19 ============ Gen 34:19 And the young man deferred not to do the thing, because he had delight in Jacob's daughter: and he was more honourable than all the house of his father.(KJV) Genesis 34:19 And the yong man deferd not to doe the thing because he loued Iaakobs daughter: he was also the most set by of all his fathers house.(Geneva) Genèse 34:19 Le jeune homme ne tarda pas à faire la chose, car il aimait la fille de Jacob. Il était considéré de tous dans la maison de son père.(FR) 19 ׃34 וְלֹֽא־אֵחַ֤ר הַנַּ֙עַר֙ לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת הַדָּבָ֔ר כִּ֥י חָפֵ֖ץ בְּבַֽת־יַעֲקֹ֑ב וְה֣וּא נִכְבָּ֔ד מִכֹּ֖ל בֵּ֥ית אָבִֽיו׃ Genesis Gen 34:19 The young man did not delay to do the thing, because he was delighted with Jacob's daughter. Now he was more respected than all the household of his father.(nasb) ======= Genesis 34:20 ============ Gen 34:20 And Hamor and Shechem his son came unto the gate of their city, and communed with the men of their city, saying,(KJV) Genesis 34:20 Then Hamor and Shechem his Sonne went vnto the gate of their citie, and communed with the men of their citie, saying,(Geneva) Genèse 34:20 Hamor et Sichem, son fils, se rendirent à la porte de leur ville, et ils parlèrent ainsi aux gens de leur ville:(FR) 20 ׃34 וַיָּבֹ֥א חֲמ֛וֹר וּשְׁכֶ֥ם בְּנ֖וֹ אֶל־שַׁ֣עַר עִירָ֑ם וַֽיְדַבְּר֛וּ אֶל־אַנְשֵׁ֥י עִירָ֖ם לֵאמֹֽר׃ Genesis Gen 34:20 So Hamor and his son Shechem came to the gate of their city and spoke to the men of their city, saying,(nasb) ======= Genesis 34:21 ============ Gen 34:21 These men are peaceable with us; therefore let them dwell in the land, and trade therein; for the land, behold, it is large enough for them; let us take their daughters to us for wives, and let us give them our daughters.(KJV) Genesis 34:21 These men are peaceable with vs: and that they may dwell in the land, and doe their affaires therin (for behold, the land hath roume ynough for them) let vs take their daughters to wiues, and giue them our daughters.(Geneva) Genèse 34:21 Ces hommes sont paisibles à notre égard; qu'ils restent dans le pays, et qu'ils y trafiquent; le pays est assez vaste pour eux. Nous prendrons pour femmes leurs filles, et nous leur donnerons nos filles.(FR) 21 ׃34 הָאֲנָשִׁ֨ים הָאֵ֜לֶּה שְֽׁלֵמִ֧ים הֵ֣ם אִתָּ֗נוּ וְיֵשְׁב֤וּ בָאָ֙רֶץ֙ וְיִסְחֲר֣וּ אֹתָ֔הּ וְהָאָ֛רֶץ הִנֵּ֥ה רַֽחֲבַת־יָדַ֖יִם לִפְנֵיהֶ֑ם אֶת־בְּנֹתָם֙ נִקַּֽח־לָ֣נוּ לְנָשִׁ֔ים וְאֶת־בְּנֹתֵ֖ינוּ נִתֵּ֥ן לָהֶֽם׃ Genesis Gen 34:21 "These men are friendly with us; therefore let them live in the land and trade in it, for behold, the land is large enough for them. Let us take their daughters in marriage, and give our daughters to them.(nasb) ======= Genesis 34:22 ============ Gen 34:22 Only herein will the men consent unto us for to dwell with us, to be one people, if every male among us be circumcised, as they are circumcised.(KJV) Genesis 34:22 Onely herein will the men consent vnto vs for to dwell with vs, and to be one people, if all the men children among vs be circumcised as they are circumcised.(Geneva) Genèse 34:22 Mais ces hommes ne consentiront à habiter avec nous, pour former un seul peuple, qu'à la condition que tout mâle parmi nous soit circoncis, comme ils sont eux-mêmes circoncis.(FR) 22 ׃34 אַךְ־בְּ֠זֹאת יֵאֹ֨תוּ לָ֤נוּ הָאֲנָשִׁים֙ לָשֶׁ֣בֶת אִתָּ֔נוּ לִהְי֖וֹת לְעַ֣ם אֶחָ֑ד בְּהִמּ֥וֹל לָ֙נוּ֙ כָּל־זָכָ֔ר כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר הֵ֥ם נִמֹּלִֽים׃ Genesis Gen 34:22 Only on this condition will the men consent to us to live with us, to become one people: that every male among us be circumcised as they are circumcised.(nasb) ======= Genesis 34:23 ============ Gen 34:23 Shall not their cattle and their substance and every beast of their's be our's? only let us consent unto them, and they will dwell with us.(KJV) Genesis 34:23 Shall not their flockes and their substance and all their cattell be ours? onely let vs consent herein vnto them, and they will dwell with vs.(Geneva) Genèse 34:23 Leurs troupeaux, leurs biens et tout leur bétail, ne seront-ils pas à nous? Acceptons seulement leur condition, pour qu'ils restent avec nous.(FR) 23 ׃34 מִקְנֵהֶ֤ם וְקִנְיָנָם֙ וְכָל־בְּהֶמְתָּ֔ם הֲל֥וֹא לָ֖נוּ הֵ֑ם אַ֚ךְ נֵא֣וֹתָה לָהֶ֔ם וְיֵשְׁב֖וּ אִתָּֽנוּ׃ Genesis Gen 34:23 Will not their livestock and their property and all their animals be ours? Only let us consent to them, and they will live with us."(nasb) ======= Genesis 34:24 ============ Gen 34:24 And unto Hamor and unto Shechem his son hearkened all that went out of the gate of his city; and every male was circumcised, all that went out of the gate of his city.(KJV) Genesis 34:24 And vnto Hamor, and Shechem his sonne hearkened all that went out of the gate of his citie: and all the men children were circumcised, euen all that went out of the gate of his citie.(Geneva) Genèse 34:24 Tous ceux qui étaient venus à la porte de la ville écoutèrent Hamor et Sichem, son fils;
