Today's Date: 3/9/2025 ======= Deuteronomy 21:1 ============ Deu 21:1 If one be found slain in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it, lying in the field, and it be not known who hath slain him:(KJV) Deuteronomy 21:1 If one be founde slaine in the lande, which the Lord thy God giueth thee to possesse it, lying in the field, & it is not knowe who hath slaine him,(Geneva) Deutéronome 21:1 Si, dans le pays dont l'Eternel, ton Dieu, te donne la possession, l'on trouve étendu au milieu d'un champ un homme tué, sans que l'on sache qui l'a frappé,(FR) 1 ׃21 כִּי־יִמָּצֵ֣א חָלָ֗ל בָּאֲדָמָה֙ אֲשֶׁר֩ יְהוָ֨ה אֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ נֹתֵ֤ן לְךָ֙ לְרִשְׁתָּ֔הּ נֹפֵ֖ל בַּשָּׂדֶ֑ה לֹ֥א נוֹדַ֖ע מִ֥י הִכָּֽהוּ׃ Deuteronomy Deu 21:1 "If a slain person is found lying in the open country in the land which the Lord your God gives you to possess, and it is not known who has struck him,(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 21:2 ============ Deu 21:2 Then thy elders and thy judges shall come forth, and they shall measure unto the cities which are round about him that is slain:(KJV) Deuteronomy 21:2 Then thine Elders & thy Iudges shal come forth, and measure vnto the cities that are round about him that is slayne.(Geneva) Deutéronome 21:2 tes anciens et tes juges iront mesurer les distances à partir du cadavre jusqu'aux villes des environs.(FR) 2 ׃21 וְיָצְא֥וּ זְקֵנֶ֖יךָ וְשֹׁפְטֶ֑יךָ וּמָדְדוּ֙ אֶל־הֶ֣עָרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֖ר סְבִיבֹ֥ת הֶחָלָֽל׃ Deuteronomy Deu 21:2 then your elders and your judges shall go out and measure the distance to the cities which are around the slain one.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 21:3 ============ Deu 21:3 And it shall be, that the city which is next unto the slain man, even the elders of that city shall take an heifer, which hath not been wrought with, and which hath not drawn in the yoke;(KJV) Deuteronomy 21:3 Aud let ye Elders of that citie, which is next vnto the slaine man, take out of the droue an heifer that hath not bene put to labour, nor hath drawen in the yoke.(Geneva) Deutéronome 21:3 Quand on aura déterminé la ville la plus rapprochée du cadavre, les anciens de cette ville prendront une génisse qui n'ait point servi au travail et qui n'ait point tiré au joug.(FR) 3 ׃21 וְהָיָ֣ה הָעִ֔יר הַקְּרֹבָ֖ה אֶל־הֶחָלָ֑ל וְלָֽקְח֡וּ זִקְנֵי֩ הָעִ֨יר הַהִ֜וא עֶגְלַ֣ת בָּקָ֗ר אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹֽא־עֻבַּד֙ בָּ֔הּ אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־מָשְׁכָ֖ה בְּעֹֽל׃ Deuteronomy Deu 21:3 It shall be that the city which is nearest to the slain man, that is, the elders of that city, shall take a heifer of the herd, which has not been worked and which has not pulled in a yoke;(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 21:4 ============ Deu 21:4 And the elders of that city shall bring down the heifer unto a rough valley, which is neither eared nor sown, and shall strike off the heifer's neck there in the valley:(KJV) Deuteronomy 21:4 And let the Elders of that citie bring the heifer vnto a stonie valley, which is neyther eared nor sowen, and strike off the heifers necke there in the valley.(Geneva) Deutéronome 21:4 Ils feront descendre cette génisse vers un torrent qui jamais ne tarisse et où il n'y ait ni culture ni semence; et là, ils briseront la nuque à la génisse, dans le torrent.(FR) 4 ׃21 וְהוֹרִ֡דוּ זִקְנֵי֩ הָעִ֨יר הַהִ֤וא אֶת־הָֽעֶגְלָה֙ אֶל־נַ֣חַל אֵיתָ֔ן אֲשֶׁ֛ר לֹא־יֵעָבֵ֥ד בּ֖וֹ וְלֹ֣א יִזָּרֵ֑עַ וְעָֽרְפוּ־שָׁ֥ם אֶת־הָעֶגְלָ֖ה בַּנָּֽחַל׃ Deuteronomy Deu 21:4 and the elders of that city shall bring the heifer down to a valley with running water, which has not been plowed or sown, and shall break the heifer's neck there in the valley.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 21:5 ============ Deu 21:5 And the priests the sons of Levi shall come near; for them the LORD thy God hath chosen to minister unto him, and to bless in the name of the LORD; and by their word shall every controversy and every stroke be tried:(KJV) Deuteronomy 21:5 Also the Priests the sonnes of Leui (whom the Lord thy God hath chosen to minister, & to blesse in the name of the Lorde) shal come forth, & by their word shal all strife & plague be tried.(Geneva) Deutéronome 21:5 Alors s'approcheront les sacrificateurs, fils de Lévi; car l'Eternel, ton Dieu, les a choisis pour qu'ils le servent et qu'ils bénissent au nom de l'Eternel, et ce sont eux qui doivent prononcer sur toute contestation et sur toute blessure.(FR) 5 ׃21 וְנִגְּשׁ֣וּ הַכֹּהֲנִים֮ בְּנֵ֣י לֵוִי֒ כִּ֣י בָ֗ם בָּחַ֞ר יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ לְשָׁ֣רְת֔וֹ וּלְבָרֵ֖ךְ בְּשֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֑ה וְעַל־פִּיהֶ֥ם יִהְיֶ֖ה כָּל־רִ֥יב וְכָל־נָֽגַע׃ Deuteronomy Deu 21:5 Then the priests, the sons of Levi, shall come near, for the Lord your God has chosen them to serve Him and to bless in the name of the Lord; and every dispute and every assault shall be settled by them.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 21:6 ============ Deu 21:6 And all the elders of that city, that are next unto the slain man, shall wash their hands over the heifer that is beheaded in the valley:(KJV) Deuteronomy 21:6 And all the Elders of that citie that came neere to the slayne man, shal wash their hands ouer the heifer that is beheaded in the valley:(Geneva) Deutéronome 21:6 Tous les anciens de cette ville la plus rapprochée du cadavre laveront leurs mains sur la génisse à laquelle on a brisé la nuque dans le torrent.(FR) 6 ׃21 וְכֹ֗ל זִקְנֵי֙ הָעִ֣יר הַהִ֔וא הַקְּרֹבִ֖ים אֶל־הֶחָלָ֑ל יִרְחֲצוּ֙ אֶת־יְדֵיהֶ֔ם עַל־הָעֶגְלָ֖ה הָעֲרוּפָ֥ה בַנָּֽחַל׃ Deuteronomy Deu 21:6 All the elders of that city which is nearest to the slain man shall wash their hands over the heifer whose neck was broken in the valley;(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 21:7 ============ Deu 21:7 And they shall answer and say, Our hands have not shed this blood, neither have our eyes seen it.(KJV) Deuteronomy 21:7 And shal testifie, and say, Our handes haue not shed this blood, neither haue our eies seene it.(Geneva) Deutéronome 21:7 Et prenant la parole, ils diront: Nos mains n'ont point répandu ce sang et nos yeux ne l'ont point vu répandre.(FR) 7 ׃21 וְעָנ֖וּ וְאָמְר֑וּ יָדֵ֗ינוּ לֹ֤א *שפכה **שָֽׁפְכוּ֙ אֶת־הַדָּ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה וְעֵינֵ֖ינוּ לֹ֥א רָאֽוּ׃ Deuteronomy Deu 21:7 and they shall answer and say, 'Our hands did not shed this blood, nor did our eyes see it.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 21:8 ============ Deu 21:8 Be merciful, O LORD, unto thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and lay not innocent blood unto thy people of Israel's charge. And the blood shall be forgiven them.(KJV) Deuteronomy 21:8 O Lord, be mercifull vnto thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and lay no innocent blood to the charge of thy people Israel, and the blood shalbe forgiuen them.(Geneva) Deutéronome 21:8 Pardonne, ô Eternel! à ton peuple d'Israël, que tu as racheté; n'impute pas le sang innocent à ton peuple d'Israël, et ce sang ne lui sera point imputé.(FR) 8 ׃21 כַּפֵּר֩ לְעַמְּךָ֨ יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל אֲשֶׁר־פָּדִ֙יתָ֙ יְהוָ֔ה וְאַל־תִּתֵּן֙ דָּ֣ם נָקִ֔י בְּקֶ֖רֶב עַמְּךָ֣ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְנִכַּפֵּ֥ר לָהֶ֖ם הַדָּֽם׃ Deuteronomy Deu 21:8 Forgive Your people Israel whom You have redeemed, O Lord, and do not place the guilt of innocent blood in the midst of Your people Israel.' And the bloodguiltiness shall be forgiven them.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 21:9 ============ Deu 21:9 So shalt thou put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the LORD.(KJV) Deuteronomy 21:9 So shalt thou take away the cry of innocet blood from thee, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the Lord.(Geneva) Deutéronome 21:9 Ainsi, tu dois faire disparaître du milieu de toi le sang innocent, en faisant ce qui est droit aux yeux de l'Eternel.(FR) 9 ׃21 וְאַתָּ֗ה תְּבַעֵ֛ר הַדָּ֥ם הַנָּקִ֖י מִקִּרְבֶּ֑ךָ כִּֽי־תַעֲשֶׂ֥ה הַיָּשָׁ֖ר בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃ ס Deuteronomy Deu 21:9 So you shall remove the guilt of innocent blood from your midst, when you do what is right in the eyes of the Lord. (nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 21:10 ============ Deu 21:10 When thou goest forth to war against thine enemies, and the LORD thy God hath delivered them into thine hands, and thou hast taken them captive,(KJV) Deuteronomy 21:10 Whe thou shalt go to warre against thine enemies, & the Lord thy God shal deliuer them into thine hands, & thou shalt take the captiues,(Geneva) Deutéronome 21:10 Lorsque tu iras à la guerre contre tes ennemis, si l'Eternel les livre entre tes mains, et que tu leur fasses des prisonniers,(FR) 10 ׃21 כִּֽי־תֵצֵ֥א לַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה עַל־אֹיְבֶ֑יךָ וּנְתָנ֞וֹ יְהוָ֧ה אֱלֹהֶ֛יךָ בְּיָדֶ֖ךָ וְשָׁבִ֥יתָ שִׁבְיֽוֹ׃ Deuteronomy Deu 21:10 "When you go out to battle against your enemies, and the Lord your God delivers them into your hands and you take them away captive,(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 21:11 ============ Deu 21:11 And seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and hast a desire unto her, that thou wouldest have her to thy wife;(KJV) Deuteronomy 21:11 And shalt see among the captiues a beautifull woman, and hast a desire vnto her, & wouldest take her to thy wife,(Geneva) Deutéronome 21:11 peut-être verras-tu parmi les captives une femme belle de figure, et auras-tu le désir de la prendre pour femme.(FR) 11 ׃21 וְרָאִיתָ֙ בַּשִּׁבְיָ֔ה אֵ֖שֶׁת יְפַת־תֹּ֑אַר וְחָשַׁקְתָּ֣ בָ֔הּ וְלָקַחְתָּ֥ לְךָ֖ לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ Deuteronomy Deu 21:11 and see among the captives a beautiful woman, and have a desire for her and would take her as a wife for yourself,(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 21:12 ============ Deu 21:12 Then thou shalt bring her home to thine house, and she shall shave her head, and pare her nails;(KJV) Deuteronomy 21:12 Then thou shalt bring her home to thine house, and she shal shaue her head, and pare her nayles,(Geneva) Deutéronome 21:12 Alors tu l'amèneras dans l'intérieur de ta maison. Elle se rasera la tête et se fera les ongles,(FR) 12 ׃21 וַהֲבֵאתָ֖הּ אֶל־תּ֣וֹךְ בֵּיתֶ֑ךָ וְגִלְּחָה֙ אֶת־רֹאשָׁ֔הּ וְעָשְׂתָ֖ה אֶת־צִפָּרְנֶֽיהָ׃ Deuteronomy Deu 21:12 then you shall bring her home to your house, and she shall shave her head and trim her nails.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 21:13 ============ Deu 21:13 And she shall put the raiment of her captivity from off her, and shall remain in thine house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month: and after that thou shalt go in unto her, and be her husband, and she shall be thy wife.(KJV) Deuteronomy 21:13 And she shal put off the garment that shee was taken in, and she shal remaine in thine house, and bewaile her father & her mother a moneth long: and after that shalt thou go in vnto her, & marry her, and she shalbe thy wife.(Geneva) Deutéronome 21:13 elle quittera les vêtements qu'elle portait quand elle a été prise, elle demeurera dans ta maison, et elle pleurera son père et sa mère pendant un mois. Après cela, tu iras vers elle, tu l'auras en ta possession, et elle sera ta femme.(FR) 13 ׃21 וְהֵסִ֩ירָה֩ אֶת־שִׂמְלַ֨ת שִׁבְיָ֜הּ מֵעָלֶ֗יהָ וְיָֽשְׁבָה֙ בְּבֵיתֶ֔ךָ וּבָ֥[t]כְתָ֛ה אֶת־אָבִ֥יהָ וְאֶת־אִמָּ֖הּ יֶ֣רַח יָמִ֑ים וְאַ֨חַר כֵּ֜ן תָּב֤וֹא אֵלֶ֙יהָ֙ וּבְעַלְתָּ֔הּ וְהָיְתָ֥ה לְךָ֖ לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ Deuteronomy Deu 21:13 She shall also remove the clothes of her captivity and shall remain in your house, and mourn her father and mother a full month; and after that you may go in to her and be her husband and she shall be your wife.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 21:14 ============ Deu 21:14 And it shall be, if thou have no delight in her, then thou shalt let her go whither she will; but thou shalt not sell her at all for money, thou shalt not make merchandise of her, because thou hast humbled her.(KJV) Deuteronomy 21:14 And if thou haue no fauour vnto her, then thou mayest let her go whither she will, but thou shalt not sell her for money, nor make marchandise of her, because thou hast humbled her.(Geneva) Deutéronome 21:14 Si elle cesse de te plaire, tu la laisseras aller où elle voudra, tu ne pourras pas la vendre pour de l'argent ni la traiter comme esclave, parce que tu l'auras humiliée.(FR) 14 ׃21 וְהָיָ֞ה אִם־לֹ֧א חָפַ֣צְתָּ בָּ֗הּ וְשִׁלַּחְתָּהּ֙ לְנַפְשָׁ֔הּ וּמָכֹ֥ר לֹא־תִמְכְּרֶ֖נָּה בַּכָּ֑סֶף לֹא־תִתְעַמֵּ֣ר בָּ֔הּ תַּ֖חַת אֲשֶׁ֥ר עִנִּיתָֽהּ׃ ס Deuteronomy Deu 21:14 It shall be, if you are not pleased with her, then you shall let her go wherever she wishes; but you shall certainly not sell her for money, you shall not mistreat her, because you have humbled her.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 21:15 ============ Deu 21:15 If a man have two wives, one beloved, and another hated, and they have born him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the firstborn son be hers that was hated:(KJV) Deuteronomy 21:15 If a man haue two wiues, one loued and another hated, and they haue borne him children, both the loued and also the hated: if the first borne be the sonne of the hated,(Geneva) Deutéronome 21:15 Si un homme, qui a deux femmes, aime l'une et n'aime pas l'autre, et s'il en a des fils dont le premier-né soit de la femme qu'il n'aime pas,(FR) 15 ׃21 כִּֽי־תִהְיֶ֨יןָ לְאִ֜ישׁ שְׁתֵּ֣י נָשִׁ֗ים הָאַחַ֤ת אֲהוּבָה֙ וְהָאַחַ֣ת שְׂנוּאָ֔ה וְיָֽלְדוּ־ל֣וֹ בָנִ֔ים הָאֲהוּבָ֖ה וְהַשְּׂנוּאָ֑ה וְהָיָ֛ה הַבֵּ֥ן הַבְּכ֖וֹר לַשְּׂנִיאָֽה׃ Deuteronomy Deu 21:15 "If a man has two wives, the one loved and the other unloved, and both the loved and the unloved have borne him sons, if the firstborn son belongs to the unloved,(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 21:16 ============ Deu 21:16 Then it shall be, when he maketh his sons to inherit that which he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated, which is indeed the firstborn:(KJV) Deuteronomy 21:16 Then when the time commeth, that hee appointeth his sonnes to be heires of that which he hath, he may not make the sonne of the beloued first borne before the sonne of the hated, which is the first borne:(Geneva) Deutéronome 21:16 il ne pourra point, quand il partagera son bien entre ses fils, reconnaître comme premier-né le fils de celle qu'il aime, à la place du fils de celle qu'il n'aime pas, et qui est le premier-né.(FR) 16 ׃21 וְהָיָ֗ה בְּיוֹם֙ הַנְחִיל֣וֹ אֶת־בָּנָ֔יו אֵ֥ת אֲשֶׁר־יִהְיֶ֖ה ל֑וֹ לֹ֣א יוּכַ֗ל לְבַכֵּר֙ אֶת־בֶּן־הָ֣אֲהוּבָ֔ה עַל־פְּנֵ֥י בֶן־הַשְּׂנוּאָ֖ה הַבְּכֹֽר׃ Deuteronomy Deu 21:16 then it shall be in the day he wills what he has to his sons, he cannot make the son of the loved the firstborn before the son of the unloved, who is the firstborn.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 21:17 ============ Deu 21:17 But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.(KJV) Deuteronomy 21:17 But he shall acknowledge the sonne of the hated for the first borne, and giue him double portion of all that he hath: for hee is the first of his strength, and to him belongeth the right of the first borne.(Geneva) Deutéronome 21:17 Mais il reconnaîtra pour premier-né le fils de celle qu'il n'aime pas, et lui donnera sur son bien une portion double; car ce fils est les prémices de sa vigueur, le droit d'aînesse lui appartient.(FR) 17 ׃21 כִּי֩ אֶת־הַבְּכֹ֨ר בֶּן־הַשְּׂנוּאָ֜ה יַכִּ֗יר לָ֤תֶת לוֹ֙ פִּ֣י שְׁנַ֔יִם בְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־יִמָּצֵ֖א ל֑וֹ כִּי־הוּא֙ רֵאשִׁ֣ית אֹנ֔וֹ ל֖וֹ מִשְׁפַּ֥ט הַבְּכֹרָֽה׃ ס Deuteronomy Deu 21:17 But he shall acknowledge the firstborn, the son of the unloved, by giving him a double portion of all that he has, for he is the beginning of his strength; to him belongs the right of the firstborn.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 21:18 ============ Deu 21:18 If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:(KJV) Deuteronomy 21:18 If any man haue a sonne that is stubburne and disobedient, which wil not hearken vnto the voice of his father, nor the voyce of his mother, and they haue chastened him, and he would not obey them,(Geneva) Deutéronome 21:18 Si un homme a un fils indocile et rebelle, n'écoutant ni la voix de son père, ni la voix de sa mère, et ne leur obéissant pas même après qu'ils l'ont châtié,(FR) 18 ׃21 כִּֽי־יִהְיֶ֣ה לְאִ֗ישׁ בֵּ֚ן סוֹרֵ֣ר וּמוֹרֶ֔ה אֵינֶ֣נּוּ שֹׁמֵ֔עַ בְּק֥וֹל אָבִ֖יו וּבְק֣וֹל אִמּ֑וֹ וְיסְּר֣וּ אֹת֔וֹ וְלֹ֥א יִשְׁמַ֖ע אֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ Deuteronomy Deu 21:18 "If any man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey his father or his mother, and when they chastise him, he will not even listen to them,(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 21:19 ============ Deu 21:19 Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;(KJV) Deuteronomy 21:19 Then shall his father and his mother take him, & bring him out vnto the Elders of his citie, & vnto the gate of the place where he dwelleth,(Geneva) Deutéronome 21:19 le père et la mère le prendront, et le mèneront vers les anciens de sa ville et à la porte du lieu qu'il habite.(FR) 19 ׃21 וְתָ֥פְשׂוּ ב֖וֹ אָבִ֣יו וְאִמּ֑וֹ וְהוֹצִ֧יאוּ אֹת֛וֹ אֶל־זִקְנֵ֥י עִיר֖וֹ וְאֶל־שַׁ֥עַר מְקֹמֽוֹ׃ Deuteronomy Deu 21:19 then his father and mother shall seize him, and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gateway of his hometown.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 21:20 ============ Deu 21:20 And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.(KJV) Deuteronomy 21:20 And shall say vnto the Elders of his citie, This our sonne is stubburne and disobedient, and he wil not obey our admonition: he is a ryotour, and a drunkard.(Geneva) Deutéronome 21:20 Ils diront aux anciens de sa ville: Voici notre fils qui est indocile et rebelle, qui n'écoute pas notre voix, et qui se livre à des excès et à l'ivrognerie.(FR) 20 ׃21 וְאָמְר֞וּ אֶל־זִקְנֵ֣י עִיר֗וֹ בְּנֵ֤נוּ זֶה֙ סוֹרֵ֣ר וּמֹרֶ֔ה אֵינֶ֥נּוּ שֹׁמֵ֖עַ בְּקֹלֵ֑נוּ זוֹלֵ֖ל וְסֹבֵֽא׃ Deuteronomy Deu 21:20 They shall say to the elders of his city, 'This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey us, he is a glutton and a drunkard.'(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 21:21 ============ Deu 21:21 And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.(KJV) Deuteronomy 21:21 Then all the men of his citie shall stone him with stones vnto death: so thou shalt take away euill from among you, that all Israel may heare it, and feare.(Geneva) Deutéronome 21:21 Et tous les hommes de sa ville le lapideront, et il mourra.
