or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife;(KJV) Deuteronomy 24:3 And if the latter husband hate her, & write her a letter of diuorcement, & put it in her hand, and send her out of his house, or if the latter man die which tooke her to wife:(Geneva) Deutéronome 24:3 Si ce dernier homme la prend en aversion, écrit pour elle une lettre de divorce, et, après la lui avoir remise en main, la renvoie de sa maison; ou bien, si ce dernier homme qui l'a prise pour femme vient à mourir,(FR) 3 ׃24 וּשְׂנֵאָהּ֮ הָאִ֣ישׁ הָאַחֲרוֹן֒ וְכָ֨תַב לָ֜הּ סֵ֤פֶר כְּרִיתֻת֙ וְנָתַ֣ן בְּיָדָ֔הּ וְשִׁלְּחָ֖הּ מִבֵּית֑וֹ א֣וֹ כִ֤י יָמוּת֙ הָאִ֣ישׁ הָאַחֲר֔וֹן אֲשֶׁר־לְקָחָ֥הּ ל֖וֹ לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ Deuteronomy Deu 24:3 and if the latter husband turns against her and writes her a certificate of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his house, or if the latter husband dies who took her to be his wife,(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 24:4 ============ Deu 24:4 Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.(KJV) Deuteronomy 24:4 Then her first husband, which sent her away, may not take her againe to be his wife, after that she is defiled: for that is abomination in the sight of the Lord, and thou shalt not cause the land to sinne, which the Lord thy God doeth giue thee to inherite.(Geneva) Deutéronome 24:4 alors le premier mari qui l'avait renvoyée ne pourra pas la reprendre pour femme après qu'elle a été souillée, car c'est une abomination devant l'Eternel, et tu ne chargeras point de péché le pays que l'Eternel, ton Dieu, te donne pour héritage.(FR) 4 ׃24 לֹא־יוּכַ֣ל בַּעְלָ֣הּ הָרִאשׁ֣וֹן אֲשֶֽׁר־שִׁ֠לְּחָהּ לָשׁ֨וּב לְקַחְתָּ֜הּ לִהְי֧וֹת ל֣וֹ לְאִשָּׁ֗ה אַחֲרֵי֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הֻטַּמָּ֔אָה כִּֽי־תוֹעֵבָ֥ה הִ֖וא לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וְלֹ֤א תַחֲטִיא֙ אֶת־הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁר֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ נֹתֵ֥ן לְךָ֖ נַחֲלָֽה׃ ס Deuteronomy Deu 24:4 then her former husband who sent her away is not allowed to take her again to be his wife, since she has been defiled; he shall be free at home one year and shall give happiness to his wife whom he has taken.
