Then the Lord said to me, "Name him Maher-shalal-hash-baz; (nasb) ======= Isaiah 8:4 ============ Isa 8:4 For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.(KJV) Isaiah 8:4 For before the childe shall haue knowledge to crye, My father, & my mother, he shall take away the riches of Damascus and the spoyle of Samaria, before the King of Asshur.(Geneva) Ésaïe 8:4 Car, avant que l'enfant sache dire: Mon père! ma mère! on emportera devant le roi d'Assyrie les richesses de Damas et le butin de Samarie.(FR) 4 ׃8 כִּ֗י בְּטֶ֙רֶם֙ יֵדַ֣ע הַנַּ֔עַר קְרֹ֖א אָבִ֣י וְאִמִּ֑י יִשָּׂ֣א ׀ אֶת־חֵ֣יל דַּמֶּ֗שֶׂק וְאֵת֙ שְׁלַ֣ל שֹׁמְר֔וֹן לִפְנֵ֖י מֶ֥לֶךְ אַשּֽׁוּר׃ ס Isaiah Isa 8:4 for before the boy knows how to cry out 'My father' or 'My mother, 'the wealth of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria will be carried away before the king of Assyria."(nasb) ======= Isaiah 8:5 ============ Isa 8:5 The LORD spake also unto me again, saying,(KJV) Isaiah 8:5 And the Lord spake yet againe vnto me, saying,(Geneva) Ésaïe 8:5 L'Eternel me parla encore, et me dit:(FR) 5 ׃8 וַיֹּ֣סֶף יְהוָ֔ה דַּבֵּ֥ר אֵלַ֛י ע֖וֹד לֵאמֹֽר׃ Isaiah Isa 8:5 Again the Lord spoke to me further, saying, (nasb) ======= Isaiah 8:6 ============ Isa 8:6 Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son;(KJV) Isaiah 8:6 Because this people hath refused the waters of Shiloah that runne softly, and reioyce with Rezin, and the sonne of Remaliah,(Geneva) Ésaïe 8:6 Parce que ce peuple a méprisé les eaux de Siloé qui coulent doucement Et qu'il s'est réjoui au sujet de Retsin et du fils de Remalia,(FR) 6 ׃8 יַ֗עַן כִּ֤י מָאַס֙ הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה אֵ֚ת מֵ֣י הַשִּׁלֹ֔חַ הַהֹלְכִ֖ים לְאַ֑[t]ט וּמְשׂ֥וֹשׂ אֶת־רְצִ֖ין וּבֶן־רְמַלְיָֽהוּ׃ Isaiah Isa 8:6 "Inasmuch as these people have rejected the gently flowing waters of Shiloah And rejoice in Rezin and the son of Remaliah; (nasb) ======= Isaiah 8:7 ============ Isa 8:7 Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:(KJV) Isaiah 8:7 Nowe therefore, beholde, the Lorde bringeth vp vpon them the waters of the Riuer mightie and great, euen the King of Asshur with all his glory, and he shall come vp vpon all their riuers, and goe ouer all their banks,(Geneva) Ésaïe 8:7 Voici, le Seigneur va faire monter contre eux Les puissantes et grandes eaux du fleuve Le roi d'Assyrie et toute sa gloire; Il s'élèvera partout au-dessus de son lit, Et il se répandra sur toutes ses rives;(FR) 7 ׃8 וְלָכֵ֡ן הִנֵּ֣ה אֲדֹנָי֩ מַעֲלֶ֨ה עֲלֵיהֶ֜ם אֶת־מֵ֣י הַנָּהָ֗ר הָעֲצוּמִים֙ וְהָ֣רַבִּ֔ים אֶת־מֶ֥לֶךְ אַשּׁ֖וּר וְאֶת־כָּל־כְּבוֹד֑וֹ וְעָלָה֙ עַל־כָּל־אֲפִיקָ֔יו וְהָלַ֖ךְ עַל־כָּל־גְּדוֹתָֽיו׃ Isaiah Isa 8:7 "Now therefore, behold, the Lord is about to bring on them the strong and abundant waters of the Euphrates, Even the king of Assyria and all his glory; And it will rise up over all its channels and go over all its banks. (nasb) ======= Isaiah 8:19 ============ Isa 8:19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?(KJV) Isaiah 8:19 And when they shal say vnto you, Enquire at them that haue a spirit of diuination, and at the soothsayers, which whisper and murmure, Should not a people enquire at their God? from the liuing to the dead?(Geneva) Ésaïe 8:19 Si l'on vous dit: Consultez ceux qui évoquent les morts et ceux qui prédisent l'avenir, Qui poussent des sifflements et des soupirs, Répondez: Un peuple ne consultera-t-il pas son Dieu? S'adressera-t-il aux morts en faveur des vivants?(FR) 19 ׃8 וְכִֽי־יֹאמְר֣וּ אֲלֵיכֶ֗ם דִּרְשׁ֤וּ אֶל־הָאֹבוֹת֙ וְאֶל־הַיִּדְּעֹנִ֔ים הַֽמְצַפְצְפִ֖ים וְהַמַּהְגִּ֑ים הֲלוֹא־עַם֙ אֶל־אֱלֹהָ֣יו יִדְרֹ֔שׁ בְּעַ֥ד הַחַיִּ֖ים אֶל־הַמֵּתִֽים׃ Isaiah Isa 8:19 When they say to you, "Consult the mediums and the spiritists who whisper and mutter," should not a people consult their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living? (nasb) ======= Isaiah 8:20 ============ Isa 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.(KJV) Isaiah 8:20 To the Law, and to the testimonie, if they speake not according to this worde: it is because there is no light in them.(Geneva) Ésaïe 8:20 A la loi et au témoignage! Si l'on ne parle pas ainsi, Il n'y aura point d'aurore pour le peuple.(FR) 20 ׃8 לְתוֹרָ֖ה וְלִתְעוּדָ֑ה אִם־לֹ֤א יֹֽאמְרוּ֙ כַּדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֵֽין־ל֖וֹ שָֽׁחַר׃ Isaiah Isa 8:20 To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because they have no dawn. (nasb) ======= Isaiah 8:21 ============ Isa 8:21 And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.(KJV) Isaiah 8:21 Then he that is afflicted and famished, shal go to and fro in it: and when he shalbe hungry, he shall euen freat himselfe, and curse his King and his gods, and shall looke vpward.(Geneva) Ésaïe 8:21 Il sera errant dans le pays, accablé et affamé; Et, quand il aura faim, il s'irritera, Maudira son roi et son Dieu, Et tournera les yeux en haut;(FR) 21 ׃8 וְעָ֥בַר בָּ֖הּ נִקְשֶׁ֣ה וְרָעֵ֑ב וְהָיָ֨ה כִֽי־יִרְעַ֜ב וְהִתְקַצַּ֗ף וְקִלֵּ֧ל בְּמַלְכּ֛וֹ וּבֵאלֹהָ֖יו וּפָנָ֥ה לְמָֽעְלָה׃ Isaiah Isa 8:21 They will pass through the land hard-pressed and famished, and it will turn out that when they are hungry, they will be enraged and curse their king and their God as they face upward. (nasb) ======= Isaiah 8:22 ============ Isa 8:22 And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.(kjv) Isaiah 8:22 And when he shall looke to the earth, beholde trouble, and darkenes, vexation and anguish, and he is driuen to darkenes.(Geneva) Ésaïe 8:22 Puis il regardera vers la terre, Et voici, il n'y aura que détresse, obscurité et de sombres angoisses: Il sera repoussé dans d'épaisses ténèbres.(FR) 22 ׃8 וְאֶל־אֶ֖רֶץ יַבִּ֑יט וְהִנֵּ֨ה צָרָ֤ה וַחֲשֵׁכָה֙ מְע֣וּף צוּקָ֔ה וַאֲפֵלָ֖ה מְנֻדָּֽח׃ Isaiah Isa 8:22 Then they will look to the earth, and behold, distress and darkness, the gloom of anguish; and they will be driven away into darkness. (nasb) ======= Isaiah 9:1 ============ Isa 9:1 Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.(KJV) Isaiah 9:1 Yet the darkenes shal not be according to the affliction that it had when at the first hee touched lightly the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, nor afteward when he was more grieuous by the way of the sea beyond Iorden in Galile of the Gentiles.(Geneva) Ésaïe 9:1 Mais les ténèbres ne régneront pas toujours Sur la terre où il y a maintenant des angoisses: Si les temps passés ont couvert d'opprobre Le pays de Zabulon et le pays de Nephthali, Les temps à venir couvriront de gloire La contrée voisine de la mer, au delà du Jourdain, Le territoire des Gentils.(FR) |
