Today's Date: 3/9/2025 ======= Amos 2:1 ============ Amo 2:1 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime:(KJV) Amos 2:1 Thus sayth the Lorde, For three transgressions of Moab, and for foure, I will not turne to it, because it burnt the bones of the King of Edom into lime.(Geneva) Amos 2:1 Ainsi parle l'Eternel: A cause de trois crimes de Moab, Même de quatre, je ne révoque pas mon arrêt, Parce qu'il a brûlé, calciné les os du roi d'Edom.(FR) 1 ׃2 כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה עַל־שְׁלֹשָׁה֙ פִּשְׁעֵ֣י מוֹאָ֔ב וְעַל־אַרְבָּעָ֖ה לֹ֣א אֲשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ עַל־שָׂרְפ֛וֹ עַצְמ֥וֹת מֶֽלֶךְ־אֱד֖וֹם לַשִּֽׂיד׃ Amos Amo 2:1 Thus says the Lord, "For three transgressions of Moab and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because he burned the bones of the king of Edom to lime. (nasb) ======= Amos 2:2 ============ Amo 2:2 But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kirioth: and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet:(KJV) Amos 2:2 Therefore will I send a fire vpon Moab, and it shall deuoure the palaces of Kerioth, and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of a trumpet.(Geneva) Amos 2:2 J'enverrai le feu dans Moab, Et il dévorera les palais de Kerijoth; Et Moab périra au milieu du tumulte, Au milieu des cris de guerre et du bruit de la trompette.(FR) 2 ׃2 וְשִׁלַּחְתִּי־אֵ֣שׁ בְּמוֹאָ֔ב וְאָכְלָ֖ה אַרְמְנ֣וֹת הַקְּרִיּ֑וֹת וּמֵ֤ת בְּשָׁאוֹן֙ מוֹאָ֔ב בִּתְרוּעָ֖ה בְּק֥וֹל שׁוֹפָֽר׃ Amos Amo 2:2 "So I will send fire upon Moab And it will consume the citadels of Kerioth; And Moab will die amid tumult, With war cries and the sound of a trumpet. (nasb) ======= Amos 2:3 ============ Amo 2:3 And I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all the princes thereof with him, saith the LORD.(KJV) Amos 2:3 And I will cut off the iudge out of the mids thereof, and will slay all the princes thereof with him, sayth the Lord.(Geneva) Amos 2:3 J'exterminerai de son sein le juge, Et je tuerai tous ses chefs avec lui, dit l'Eternel.(FR) 3 ׃2 וְהִכְרַתִּ֥י שׁוֹפֵ֖ט מִקִּרְבָּ֑הּ וְכָל־שָׂרֶ֛יהָ אֶהֱר֥וֹג עִמּ֖וֹ אָמַ֥ר יְהוָֽה׃ פ Amos Amo 2:3 "I will also cut off the judge from her midst And slay all her princes with him," says the Lord. (nasb) ======= Amos 2:4 ============ Amo 2:4 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have despised the law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after the which their fathers have walked:(KJV) Amos 2:4 Thus saith the Lorde, For three transgressions of Iudah, and for foure, I will not turne to it, because they haue cast away the Lawe of the Lorde, and haue not kept his commandementes, and their lies caused them to erre after the which their fathers haue walked.(Geneva) Amos 2:4 Ainsi parle l'Eternel: A cause de trois crimes de Juda, Même de quatre, je ne révoque pas mon arrêt, Parce qu'ils ont méprisé la loi de l'Eternel Et qu'ils n'ont pas gardé ses ordonnances, Parce qu'ils ont été égarés par les idoles mensongères Après lesquelles leurs pères ont marché.(FR) 4 ׃2 כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה עַל־שְׁלֹשָׁה֙ פִּשְׁעֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה וְעַל־אַרְבָּעָ֖ה לֹ֣א אֲשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ עַֽל־מָאֳסָ֞ם אֶת־תּוֹרַ֣ת יְהוָ֗ה וְחֻקָּיו֙ לֹ֣א שָׁמָ֔רוּ וַיַּתְעוּם֙ כִּזְבֵיהֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁר־הָלְכ֥וּ אֲבוֹתָ֖ם אַחֲרֵיהֶֽם׃ Amos Amo 2:4 Thus says the Lord, "For three transgressions of Judah and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because they rejected the law of the Lord And have not kept His statutes; Their lies also have led them astray, Those after which their fathers walked. (nasb) ======= Amos 2:5 ============ Amo 2:5 But I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.(KJV) Amos 2:5 Therefore will I send a fire vpon Iudah, and it shall deuoure the palaces of Ierusalem.(Geneva) Amos 2:5 J'enverrai le feu dans Juda, Et il dévorera les palais de Jérusalem.(FR) 5 ׃2 וְשִׁלַּ֥חְתִּי אֵ֖שׁ בִּֽיהוּדָ֑ה וְאָכְלָ֖ה אַרְמְנ֥וֹת יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ פ Amos Amo 2:5 "So I will send fire upon Judah And it will consume the citadels of Jerusalem."(nasb) ======= Amos 2:6 ============ Amo 2:6 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes;(KJV) Amos 2:6 Thus sayth the Lord, For three transgressions of Israel, and for foure, I will not turne to it, because they solde the righteous for siluer and the poore for shooes.(Geneva) Amos 2:6 Ainsi parle l'Eternel: A cause de trois crimes d'Israël, Même de quatre, je ne révoque pas mon arrêt, Parce qu'ils ont vendu le juste pour de l'argent, Et le pauvre pour une paire de souliers.(FR) 6 ׃2 כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה עַל־שְׁלֹשָׁה֙ פִּשְׁעֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְעַל־אַרְבָּעָ֖ה לֹ֣א אֲשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ עַל־מִכְרָ֤ם בַּכֶּ֙סֶף֙ צַדִּ֔יק וְאֶבְי֖וֹן בַּעֲב֥וּר נַעֲלָֽיִם׃ Amos Amo 2:6 Thus says the Lord, "For three transgressions of Israel and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because they sell the righteous for money And the needy for a pair of sandals. (nasb) ======= Amos 2:7 ============ Amo 2:7 That pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go in unto the same maid, to profane my holy name:(KJV) Amos 2:7 They gape ouer the head of the poore, in the dust of the earth, and peruert the wayes of the meeke: and a man and his father will goe in to a mayde to dishonour mine holy Name.(Geneva) Amos 2:7 Ils aspirent à voir la poussière de la terre sur la tête des misérables, Et ils violent le droit des malheureux. Le fils et le père vont vers la même fille, Afin de profaner mon saint nom.(FR) 7 ׃2 הַשֹּׁאֲפִ֤ים עַל־עֲפַר־אֶ֙רֶץ֙ בְּרֹ֣אשׁ דַּלִּ֔ים וְדֶ֥רֶךְ עֲנָוִ֖ים יַטּ֑וּ וְאִ֣ישׁ וְאָבִ֗יו יֵֽלְכוּ֙ אֶל־הַֽנַּעֲרָ֔ה לְמַ֥עַן חַלֵּ֖ל אֶת־שֵׁ֥ם קָדְשִֽׁי׃ Amos Amo 2:7 "These who pant after the very dust of the earth on the head of the helpless Also turn aside the way of the humble; And a man and his father resort to the same girl In order to profane My holy name. (nasb) ======= Amos 2:8 ============ Amo 2:8 And they lay themselves down upon clothes laid to pledge by every altar, and they drink the wine of the condemned in the house of their god.(KJV) Amos 2:8 And they lye downe vpon clothes layde to pledge by euery altar: and they drinke the wine of the condemned in the house of their God.(Geneva) Amos 2:8 Ils s'étendent près de chaque autel sur des vêtements pris en gage, Et ils boivent dans la maison de leurs dieux le vin de ceux qu'ils condamnent.(FR) 8 ׃2 וְעַל־בְּגָדִ֤ים חֲבֻלִים֙ יַטּ֔וּ אֵ֖צֶל כָּל־מִזְבֵּ֑חַ וְיֵ֤ין עֲנוּשִׁים֙ יִשְׁתּ֔וּ בֵּ֖ית אֱלֹהֵיהֶֽם׃ Amos Amo 2:8 "On garments taken as pledges they stretch out beside every altar, And in the house of their God they drink the wine of those who have been fined. (nasb) ======= Amos 2:9 ============ Amo 2:9 Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.(KJV) Amos 2:9 Yet destroyed I the Amorite before the, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the okes: notwithstanding I destroyed his fruite from aboue, and his roote from beneath.(Geneva) Amos 2:9 Et pourtant j'ai détruit devant eux les Amoréens, Dont la hauteur égalait celle des cèdres, Et la force celle des chênes; J'ai détruit leurs fruits en haut, Et leurs racines en bas.(FR) 9 ׃2 וְאָ֨נֹכִ֜י הִשְׁמַ֤דְתִּי אֶת־הָֽאֱמֹרִי֙ מִפְּנֵיהֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר כְּגֹ֤בַהּ אֲרָזִים֙ גָּבְה֔וֹ וְחָסֹ֥ן ה֖וּא כָּֽאַלּוֹנִ֑ים וָאַשְׁמִ֤יד פִּרְיוֹ֙ מִמַּ֔עַל וְשָׁרָשָׁ֖יו מִתָּֽחַת׃ Amos Amo 2:9 "Yet it was I who destroyed the Amorite before them, Though his height was like the height of cedars And he was strong as the oaks; I even destroyed his fruit above and his root below. (nasb) ======= Amos 2:10 ============ Amo 2:10 Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.(KJV) Amos 2:10 Also I brought you vp from the land of Egypt, and led you fourtie yeres thorowe the wildernesse, to possesse the land of the Amorite.(Geneva) Amos 2:10 Et pourtant je vous ai fait monter du pays d'Egypte, Et je vous ai conduits quarante ans dans le désert, Pour vous mettre en possession du pays des Amoréens.(FR) 10 ׃2 וְאָנֹכִ֛י הֶעֱלֵ֥יתִי אֶתְכֶ֖ם מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם וָאוֹלֵ֨ךְ אֶתְכֶ֤ם בַּמִּדְבָּר֙ אַרְבָּעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֔ה לָרֶ֖שֶׁת אֶת־אֶ֥רֶץ הָאֱמֹרִֽי׃ Amos Amo 2:10 "It was I who brought you up from the land of Egypt, And I led you in the wilderness forty years That you might take possession of the land of the Amorite. (nasb) ======= Amos 2:11 ============ Amo 2:11 And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites. Is it not even thus, O ye children of Israel? saith the LORD.(KJV) Amos 2:11 And I raysed vp of your sonnes for Prophets, and of your yong men for Nazarites. Is it not euen thus, O ye children of Israel, sayth the Lorde?(Geneva) Amos 2:11 J'ai suscité parmi vos fils des prophètes, Et parmi vos jeunes hommes des nazaréens. N'en est-il pas ainsi, enfants d'Israël? dit l'Eternel...(FR) 11 ׃2 וָאָקִ֤ים מִבְּנֵיכֶם֙ לִנְבִיאִ֔ים וּמִבַּחוּרֵיכֶ֖ם לִנְזִרִ֑ים הַאַ֥ף אֵֽין־זֹ֛את בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃ Amos Amo 2:11 "Then I raised up some of your sons to be prophets And some of your young men to be Nazirites. Is this not so, O sons of Israel?" declares the Lord. (nasb) ======= Amos 2:12 ============ Amo 2:12 But ye gave the Nazarites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not.(KJV) Amos 2:12 But ye gaue the Nazarites wine to drinke, and commanded the Prophetes, saying, Prophecie not.(Geneva) Amos 2:12 Et vous avez fait boire du vin aux nazaréens! Et aux prophètes vous avez donné cet ordre: Ne prophétisez pas!(FR) 12 ׃2 וַתַּשְׁק֥וּ אֶת־הַנְּזִרִ֖ים יָ֑יִן וְעַל־הַנְּבִיאִים֙ צִוִּיתֶ֣ם לֵאמֹ֔ר לֹ֖א תִּנָּבְאֽוּ׃ Amos Amo 2:12 "But you made the Nazirites drink wine, And you commanded the prophets saying, 'You shall not prophesy!'(nasb) ======= Amos 2:13 ============ Amo 2:13 Behold, I am pressed under you, as a cart is pressed that is full of sheaves.(KJV) Amos 2:13 Behold, I am pressed vnder you as a cart is pressed that is full of sheaues.(Geneva) Amos 2:13 Voici, je vous écraserai, Comme foule la terre un chariot chargé de gerbes.(FR) 13 ׃2 הִנֵּ֛ה אָנֹכִ֥י מֵעִ֖יק תַּחְתֵּיכֶ֑ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר תָּעִיק֙ הָעֲגָלָ֔ה הַֽמְלֵאָ֥ה לָ֖הּ עָמִֽיר׃ Amos Amo 2:13 "Behold, I am weighted down beneath you As a wagon is weighted down when filled with sheaves.
