Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?(KJV) Joel 1:2 Heare ye this, O Elders, and hearken ye all inhabitantes of the land, whether such a thing hath bene in your dayes, or yet in the dayes of your fathers.(Geneva) Joël 1:2 Ecoutez ceci, vieillards! Prêtez l'oreille, vous tous, habitants du pays! Rien de pareil est-il arrivé de votre temps, Ou du temps de vos pères?(FR) 2 ׃1 שִׁמְעוּ־זֹאת֙ הַזְּקֵנִ֔ים וְהַֽאֲזִ֔ינוּ כֹּ֖ל יוֹשְׁבֵ֣י הָאָ֑רֶץ הֶהָ֤יְתָה זֹּאת֙ בִּֽימֵיכֶ֔ם וְאִ֖ם בִּימֵ֥י אֲבֹֽתֵיכֶֽם׃ Joel Joe 1:2 Hear this, O elders, And listen, all inhabitants of the land. Has anything like this happened in your days Or in your fathers' days? (nasb) ======= Joel 1:3 ============ Joe 1:3 Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.(KJV) Joel 1:3 Tell you your children of it, and let your children shew to their children, and their children to another generation.(Geneva) Joël 1:3 Racontez-le à vos enfants, Et que vos enfants le racontent à leurs enfants, Et leurs enfants à la génération qui suivra!(FR) 3 ׃1 עָלֶ֖יהָ לִבְנֵיכֶ֣ם סַפֵּ֑רוּ וּבְנֵיכֶם֙ לִבְנֵיהֶ֔ם וּבְנֵיהֶ֖ם לְד֥וֹר אַחֵֽר׃ Joel Joe 1:3 Tell your sons about it, And let your sons tell their sons, And their sons the next generation. (nasb) ======= Joel 1:4 ============ Joe 1:4 That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten.(KJV) Joel 1:4 That which is left of ye palmer worme, hath the grashopper eaten, & the residue of ye grashopper hath the canker worme eaten, and the residue of the canker worme hath the caterpiller eaten.(Geneva) Joël 1:4 Ce qu'a laissé le gazam, la sauterelle l'a dévoré; Ce qu'a laissé la sauterelle, le jélek l'a dévoré; Ce qu'a laissé le jélek, le hasil l'a dévoré.(FR) 4 ׃1 יֶ֤תֶר הַגָּזָם֙ אָכַ֣ל הָֽאַרְבֶּ֔ה וְיֶ֥תֶר הָאַרְבֶּ֖ה אָכַ֣ל הַיָּ֑לֶק וְיֶ֣תֶר הַיֶּ֔לֶק אָכַ֖ל הֶחָסִֽיל׃ Joel Joe 1:4 What the gnawing locust has left, the swarming locust has eaten; And what the swarming locust has left, the creeping locust has eaten; And what the creeping locust has left, the stripping locust has eaten. (nasb) ======= Joel 1:5 ============ Joe 1:5 Awake, ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your mouth.(KJV) Joel 1:5 Awake ye drunkards, and weepe, & howle all ye drinkers of wine, because of the newe wine: for it shalbe pulled from your mouth.(Geneva) Joël 1:5 Réveillez-vous, ivrognes, et pleurez! Vous tous, buveurs de vin, gémissez, Parce que le moût vous est enlevé de la bouche!(FR) 5 ׃1 הָקִ֤יצוּ שִׁכּוֹרִים֙ וּבְכ֔וּ וְהֵילִ֖לוּ כָּל־שֹׁ֣תֵי יָ֑יִן עַל־עָסִ֕יס כִּ֥י נִכְרַ֖ת מִפִּיכֶֽם׃ Joel Joe 1:5 Awake, drunkards, and weep; And wail, all you wine drinkers, On account of the sweet wine That is cut off from your mouth. (nasb) ======= Joel 1:6 ============ Joe 1:6 For a nation is come up upon my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion.(KJV) Joel 1:6 Yea, a nation commeth vpon my lande, mightie, & without nomber, whose teeth are like the teeth of a lyon, and he hath the iawes of a great lyon.(Geneva) Joël 1:6 Car un peuple est venu fondre sur mon pays, Puissant et innombrable. Il a les dents d'un lion, Les mâchoires d'une lionne.(FR) 6 ׃1 כִּֽי־גוֹי֙ עָלָ֣ה עַל־אַרְצִ֔י עָצ֖וּם וְאֵ֣ין מִסְפָּ֑ר שִׁנָּיו֙ שִׁנֵּ֣י אַרְיֵ֔ה וּֽמְתַלְּע֥וֹת לָבִ֖יא לֽוֹ׃ Joel Joe 1:6 For a nation has invaded my land, Mighty and without number; Its teeth are the teeth of a lion, And it has the fangs of a lioness. (nasb) ======= Joel 1:7 ============ Joe 1:7 He hath laid my vine waste, and barked my fig tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches thereof are made white.(KJV) Joel 1:7 He maketh my vine waste, & pilleth off the barke of my figge tree: he maketh it bare, and casteth it downe: ye branches therof are made white.(Geneva) Joël 1:7 Il a dévasté ma vigne; Il a mis en morceaux mon figuier, Il l'a dépouillé, abattu; Les rameaux de la vigne ont blanchi.(FR) 7 ׃1 שָׂ֤ם גַּפְנִי֙ לְשַׁמָּ֔ה וּתְאֵנָתִ֖י לִקְצָפָ֑ה חָשֹׂ֤ף חֲשָׂפָהּ֙ וְהִשְׁלִ֔יךְ הִלְבִּ֖ינוּ שָׂרִיגֶֽיהָ׃ Joel Joe 1:7 It has made my vine a waste And my fig tree splinters. It has stripped them bare and cast them away; Their branches have become white. The priests mourn, The ministers of the Lord. (nasb) ======= Joel 1:10 ============ Joe 1:10 The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.(KJV) Joel 1:10 The fielde is wasted: the lande mourneth: for the corne is destroyed: the new wine is dried vp, and the oyle is decayed.(Geneva) Joël 1:10 Les champs sont ravagés, La terre est attristée; Car les blés sont détruits, Le moût est tari, l'huile est desséchée.(FR) 10 ׃1 שֻׁדַּ֣ד שָׂדֶ֔ה אָבְלָ֖ה אֲדָמָ֑ה כִּ֚י שֻׁדַּ֣ד דָּגָ֔ן הוֹבִ֥ישׁ תִּיר֖וֹשׁ אֻמְלַ֥ל יִצְהָֽר׃ Joel Joe 1:10 The field is ruined, The land mourns; For the grain is ruined, The new wine dries up, Fresh oil fails. (nasb) ======= Joel 1:11 ============ Joe 1:11 Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is perished.(KJV) Joel 1:11 Be ye ashamed, O husband men: howle, O ye vine dressers for the wheate, and for the barly, because the haruest of the fielde is perished.(Geneva) Joël 1:11 Les laboureurs sont consternés, les vignerons gémissent, A cause du froment et de l'orge, Parce que la moisson des champs est perdue.(FR) 11 ׃1 הֹבִ֣ישׁוּ אִכָּרִ֗ים הֵילִ֙ילוּ֙ כֹּֽרְמִ֔ים עַל־חִטָּ֖ה וְעַל־שְׂעֹרָ֑ה כִּ֥י אָבַ֖ד קְצִ֥יר שָׂדֶֽה׃ Joel Joe 1:11 Be ashamed, O farmers, Wail, O vinedressers, For the wheat and the barley; Because the harvest of the field is destroyed. (nasb) ======= Joel 1:12 ============ Joe 1:12 The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.(KJV) Joel 1:12 The vine is dried vp, and the figge tree is decayed: the pomegranate tree & the palme tree, and the apple tree, euen all the trees of the fielde are withered: surely the ioy is withered away from the sonnes of men.(Geneva) Joël 1:12 La vigne est confuse, Le figuier languissant; Le grenadier, le palmier, le pommier, Tous les arbres des champs sont flétris... La joie a cessé parmi les fils de l'homme!(FR) 12 ׃1 הַגֶּ֣פֶן הוֹבִ֔ישָׁה וְהַתְּאֵנָ֖ה אֻמְלָ֑לָה רִמּ֞וֹן גַּם־תָּמָ֣ר וְתַפּ֗וּחַ כָּל־עֲצֵ֤י הַשָּׂדֶה֙ יָבֵ֔שׁוּ כִּֽי־הֹבִ֥ישׁ שָׂשׂ֖וֹן מִן־בְּנֵ֥י אָדָֽם׃ ס Joel Joe 1:12 The vine dries up And the fig tree fails; The pomegranate, the palm also, and the apple tree, All the trees of the field dry up. Indeed, rejoicing dries up From the sons of men. (nasb) ======= Joel 1:13 ============ Joe 1:13 Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of your God.(KJV) Joel 1:13 Girde your selues and lament, ye Priests: howle ye ministers of the altar: come, and lie all night in sackecloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meate offring, and the drinke offring is taken away from the house of your God.(Geneva) Joël 1:13 Sacrificateurs, ceignez-vous et pleurez! Lamentez-vous, serviteurs de l'autel! Venez, passez la nuit revêtus de sacs, Serviteurs de mon Dieu! Car offrandes et libations ont disparu de la maison de votre Dieu.(FR) 13 ׃1 חִגְר֨וּ וְסִפְד֜וּ הַכֹּהֲנִ֗ים הֵילִ֙ילוּ֙ מְשָׁרְתֵ֣י מִזְבֵּ֔חַ בֹּ֚אוּ לִ֣ינוּ בַשַּׂקִּ֔ים מְשָׁרְתֵ֖י אֱלֹהָ֑י כִּ֥י נִמְנַ֛ע מִבֵּ֥ית אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֖ם מִנְחָ֥ה וָנָֽסֶךְ׃ Joel Joe 1:13 Gird yourselves with sackcloth And lament, O priests; Wail, O ministers of the altar! Come, spend the night in sackcloth O ministers of my God, For the grain offering and the drink offering Are withheld from the house of your God. (nasb) ======= Joel 1:14 ============ Joe 1:14 Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD,(KJV) Joel 1:14 Sanctifie you a fast: call a solemne assemblie: gather the Elders, and all the inhabitants of the land into the House of the Lorde your God, and cry vnto the Lord,(Geneva) Joël 1:14 Publiez un jeûne, une convocation solennelle! Assemblez les vieillards, tous les habitants du pays, Dans la maison de l'Eternel, votre Dieu, Et criez à l'Eternel!(FR) 14 ׃1 קַדְּשׁוּ־צוֹם֙ קִרְא֣וּ עֲצָרָ֔ה אִסְפ֣וּ זְקֵנִ֗ים כֹּ֚ל יֹשְׁבֵ֣י הָאָ֔רֶץ בֵּ֖ית יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֑ם וְזַעֲק֖וּ אֶל־יְהוָֽה׃ Joel Joe 1:14 Consecrate a fast, Proclaim a solemn assembly; Gather the elders And all the inhabitants of the land To the house of the Lord your God, And cry out to the Lord. (nasb) ======= Joel 1:15 ============ Joe 1:15 Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.(KJV) Joel 1:15 Alas: for the day, for the day of the Lord is at hand, and it commeth as a destruction from the Almightie.(Geneva) Joël 1:15 Ah! quel jour! Car le jour de l'Eternel est proche: Il vient comme un ravage du Tout-Puissant.(FR) 15 ׃1 אֲהָ֖הּ לַיּ֑וֹם כִּ֤י קָרוֹב֙ י֣וֹם יְהוָ֔ה וּכְשֹׁ֖ד מִשַׁדַּ֥י יָבֽוֹא׃ Joel Joe 1:15 Alas for the day! For the day of the Lord is near, And it will come as destruction from the Almighty. (nasb) ======= Joel 2:1 ============ Joe 2:1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;(KJV) Joel 2:1 Blowe the trumpet in Zion, and shoute in mine holy mountaine: let all the inhabitants of the lande tremble: for the day of the Lorde is come: for it is at hand.(Geneva) Joël 2:1 Sonnez de la trompette en Sion!
