Today's Date: ======= Jeremiah 2:1 ============ Jer 2:1 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,(KJV) Jeremiah 2:1 Moreouer, the woorde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,(Geneva) Jérémie 2:1 La parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:(FR) 1 ׃2 וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃ Jeremiah Jer 2:1 Now the word of the Lord came to me saying, (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 2:2 ============ Jer 2:2 Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.(KJV) Jeremiah 2:2 Goe, and crie in the eares of Ierusalem, saying, Thus sayeth the Lord, I remember thee, with the kindenes of thy youth and the loue of thy marriage, when thou wentest after me in the wildernes in a lande that was not sowen.(Geneva) Jérémie 2:2 Va, et crie aux oreilles de Jérusalem: Ainsi parle l'Eternel: Je me souviens de ton amour lorsque tu étais jeune, De ton affection lorsque tu étais fiancée, Quand tu me suivais au désert, Dans une terre inculte.(FR) 2 ׃2 הָלֹ֡ךְ וְקָֽרָאתָ֩ בְאָזְנֵ֨י יְרוּשָׁלִַ֜ם לֵאמֹ֗ר כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה זָכַ֤רְתִּי לָךְ֙ חֶ֣סֶד נְעוּרַ֔יִךְ אַהֲבַ֖ת כְּלוּלֹתָ֑יִךְ לֶכְתֵּ֤ךְ אַחֲרַי֙ בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר בְּאֶ֖רֶץ לֹ֥א זְרוּעָֽה׃ Jeremiah Jer 2:2 "Go and proclaim in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, 'Thus says the Lord, "I remember concerning you the devotion of your youth, The love of your betrothals, Your following after Me in the wilderness, Through a land not sown. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 2:3 ============ Jer 2:3 Israel was holiness unto the LORD, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the LORD.(KJV) Jeremiah 2:3 Israel was as a thing halowed vnto the Lord, and his first fruits: all they that eat it, shall offend: euil shal come vpon them, saith the Lord.(Geneva) Jérémie 2:3 Israël était consacré à l'Eternel, Il était les prémices de son revenu; Tous ceux qui en mangeaient se rendaient coupables, Et le malheur fondait sur eux, dit l'Eternel.(FR) 3 ׃2 קֹ֤דֶשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לַיהוָ֔ה רֵאשִׁ֖ית תְּבוּאָתֹ֑ה כָּל־אֹכְלָ֣יו יֶאְשָׁ֔מוּ רָעָ֛ה תָּבֹ֥א אֲלֵיהֶ֖ם נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃ פ Jeremiah Jer 2:3 "Israel was holy to the Lord, The first of His harvest. All who ate of it became guilty; Evil came upon them," declares the Lord.'"(nasb) ======= Jeremiah 2:4 ============ Jer 2:4 Hear ye the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel:(KJV) Jeremiah 2:4 Heare ye the word of the Lord, O house of Iaakob, and all the families of the house of Israel.(Geneva) Jérémie 2:4 Ecoutez la parole de l'Eternel, maison de Jacob, Et vous toutes, familles de la maison d'Israël!(FR) 4 ׃2 שִׁמְע֥וּ דְבַר־יְהוָ֖ה בֵּ֣ית יַעֲקֹ֑ב וְכָֽל־מִשְׁפְּח֖וֹת בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Jeremiah Jer 2:4 Hear the word of the Lord, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 2:5 ============ Jer 2:5 Thus saith the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?(KJV) Jeremiah 2:5 Thus sayeth the Lord, What iniquitie haue your fathers founde in mee, that they are gone farre from mee, and haue walked after vanitie, and are become vaine?(Geneva) Jérémie 2:5 Ainsi parle l'Eternel: Quelle iniquité vos pères ont-ils trouvée en moi, Pour s'éloigner de moi, Et pour aller après des choses de néant et n'être eux-mêmes que néant?(FR) 5 ׃2 כֹּ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה מַה־מָּצְא֨וּ אֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֥ם בִּי֙ עָ֔וֶל כִּ֥י רָחֲק֖וּ מֵעָלָ֑י וַיֵּֽלְכ֛וּ אַחֲרֵ֥י הַהֶ֖בֶל וַיֶּהְבָּֽלוּ׃ Jeremiah Jer 2:5 Thus says the Lord, "What injustice did your fathers find in Me, That they went far from Me And walked after emptiness and became empty? (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 2:6 ============ Jer 2:6 Neither said they, Where is the LORD that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?(KJV) Jeremiah 2:6 For they saide not, Where is the Lorde that brought vs vp out of the lande of Egypt? That led vs through the wildernesse, through a desert, and waste land, through a drie land, and by the shadow of death, by a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?(Geneva) Jérémie 2:6 Ils n'ont pas dit: Où est l'Eternel, Qui nous a fait monter du pays d'Egypte, Qui nous a conduits dans le désert, Dans une terre aride et pleine de fosses, Dans une terre où règnent la sécheresse et l'ombre de la mort, Dans une terre par où personne ne passe, Et où n'habite aucun homme?(FR) 6 ׃2 וְלֹ֣א אָמְר֔וּ אַיֵּ֣ה יְהוָ֔ה הַמַּעֲלֶ֥ה אֹתָ֖נוּ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם הַמּוֹלִ֨יךְ אֹתָ֜נוּ בַּמִּדְבָּ֗ר בְּאֶ֨רֶץ עֲרָבָ֤ה וְשׁוּחָה֙ בְּאֶ֙רֶץ֙ צִיָּ֣ה וְצַלְמָ֔וֶת בְּאֶ֗רֶץ לֹֽא־עָ֤בַר בָּהּ֙ אִ֔ישׁ וְלֹֽא־יָשַׁ֥ב אָדָ֖ם שָֽׁם׃ Jeremiah Jer 2:6 "They did not say, 'Where is the Lord Who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, Who led us through the wilderness, Through a land of deserts and of pits, Through a land of drought and of deep darkness, Through a land that no one crossed And where no man dwelt?'(nasb) ======= Jeremiah 2:7 ============ Jer 2:7 And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.(KJV) Jeremiah 2:7 And I brought you into a plentifull countrey, to eat the fruit thereof, and the commodities of the same: but when yee entred, yee defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.(Geneva) Jérémie 2:7 Je vous ai fait venir dans un pays semblable à un verger, Pour que vous en mangiez les fruits et les meilleures productions; Mais vous êtes venus, et vous avez souillé mon pays, Et vous avez fait de mon héritage une abomination.(FR) 7 ׃2 וָאָבִ֤יא אֶתְכֶם֙ אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ הַכַּרְמֶ֔ל לֶאֱכֹ֥ל פִּרְיָ֖הּ וְטוּבָ֑הּ וַתָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ וַתְּטַמְּא֣וּ אֶת־אַרְצִ֔י וְנַחֲלָתִ֥י שַׂמְתֶּ֖ם לְתוֹעֵבָֽה׃ Jeremiah Jer 2:7 "I brought you into the fruitful land To eat its fruit and its good things. But you came and defiled My land, And My inheritance you made an abomination. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 2:8 ============ Jer 2:8 The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.(KJV) Jeremiah 2:8 The priests said not, Where is the Lorde? And they that should minister the Lawe, knewe me not: the pastours also offended against me, and the Prophets prophesied in Baal, and went after things that did not profite.(Geneva) Jérémie 2:8 Les sacrificateurs n'ont pas dit: Où est l'Eternel? Les dépositaires de la loi ne m'ont pas connu, Les pasteurs m'ont été infidèles, Les prophètes ont prophétisé par Baal, Et sont allés après ceux qui ne sont d'aucun secours.(FR) 8 ׃2 הַכֹּהֲנִ֗ים לֹ֤א אָֽמְרוּ֙ אַיֵּ֣ה יְהוָ֔ה וְתֹפְשֵׂ֤י הַתּוֹרָה֙ לֹ֣א יְדָע֔וּנִי וְהָרֹעִ֖ים פָּ֣שְׁעוּ בִ֑י וְהַנְּבִיאִים֙ נִבְּא֣וּ בַבַּ֔עַל וְאַחֲרֵ֥י לֹֽא־יוֹעִ֖לוּ הָלָֽכוּ׃ Jeremiah Jer 2:8 "The priests did not say, 'Where is the Lord?'And those who handle the law did not know Me; The rulers also transgressed against Me, And the prophets prophesied by Baal And walked after things that did not profit. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 2:10 ============ Jer 2:10 For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing.(KJV) Jeremiah 2:10 For goe ye to the yles of Chittim, & beholde, and sende vnto Kedar; take diligent heede, and see whether there be such things.(Geneva) Jérémie 2:10 Passez aux îles de Kittim, et regardez! Envoyez quelqu'un à Kédar, observez bien, Et regardez s'il y a rien de semblable!(FR) 10 ׃2 כִּ֣י עִבְר֞וּ אִיֵּ֤י כִתִּיִּים֙ וּרְא֔וּ וְקֵדָ֛ר שִׁלְח֥וּ וְהִֽתְבּוֹנְנ֖וּ מְאֹ֑ד וּרְא֕וּ הֵ֥ן הָיְתָ֖ה כָּזֹֽאת׃ Jeremiah Jer 2:10 "For cross to the coastlands of Kittim and see, And send to Kedar and observe closely And see if there has been such a thing as this! (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 2:11 ============ Jer 2:11 Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.(KJV) Jeremiah 2:11 Hath any nation changed their gods, which yet are no gods? But my people haue chaged their glorie, for that which doeth not profite.(Geneva) Jérémie 2:11 Y a-t-il une nation qui change ses dieux, Quoiqu'ils ne soient pas des Dieux? Et mon peuple a changé sa gloire contre ce qui n'est d'aucun secours!(FR) 11 ׃2 הַהֵימִ֥יר גּוֹי֙ אֱלֹהִ֔ים וְהֵ֖מָּה לֹ֣א אֱלֹהִ֑ים וְעַמִּ֛י הֵמִ֥יר כְּבוֹד֖וֹ בְּל֥וֹא יוֹעִֽיל׃ Jeremiah Jer 2:11 "Has a nation changed gods When they were not gods? But My people have changed their glory For that which does not profit. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 2:12 ============ Jer 2:12 Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD.(KJV) Jeremiah 2:12 O yee heauens, be astonied at this: bee afraid and vtterly confounded, sayeth the Lord.(Geneva) Jérémie 2:12 Cieux, soyez étonnés de cela; Frémissez d'épouvante et d'horreur! dit l'Eternel.(FR) 12 ׃2 שֹׁ֥מּוּ שָׁמַ֖יִם עַל־זֹ֑את וְשַׂעֲר֛וּ חָרְב֥וּ מְאֹ֖ד נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃ Jeremiah Jer 2:12 "Be appalled, O heavens, at this, And shudder, be very desolate," declares the Lord. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 2:13 ============ Jer 2:13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.(KJV) Jeremiah 2:13 For my people haue committed two euils: they haue forsaken mee the fountaine of liuing waters, to digge them pittes, euen broken pittes, that can holde no water.(Geneva) Jérémie 2:13 Car mon peuple a commis un double péché: Ils m'ont abandonné, moi qui suis une source d'eau vive, Pour se creuser des citernes, des citernes crevassées, Qui ne retiennent pas l'eau.(FR) 13 ׃2 כִּֽי־שְׁתַּ֥יִם רָע֖וֹת עָשָׂ֣ה עַמִּ֑י אֹתִ֨י עָזְב֜וּ מְק֣וֹר ׀ מַ֣יִם חַיִּ֗ים לַחְצֹ֤ב לָהֶם֙ בֹּאר֔וֹת בֹּארֹת֙ נִשְׁבָּרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־יָכִ֖לוּ הַמָּֽיִם׃ Jeremiah Jer 2:13 "For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, The fountain of living waters, To hew for themselves cisterns, Broken cisterns That can hold no water. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 2:14 ============ Jer 2:14 Is Israel a servant? is he a homeborn slave? why is he spoiled?(KJV) Jeremiah 2:14 Is Israel a seruaunt, or is hee borne in the house? Why has he become a prey? (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 2:18 ============ Jer 2:18 And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river?(KJV) Jeremiah 2:18 And what hast thou now to do in the way of Egypt? To drinke the water of Nilus? Or what makest thou in the way of Asshur? To drinke the water of the Riuer?(Geneva) Jérémie 2:18 Et maintenant, qu'as-tu à faire d'aller en Egypte, Pour boire l'eau du Nil? Qu'as-tu à faire d'aller en Assyrie, Pour boire l'eau du fleuve?(FR) 18 ׃2 וְעַתָּ֗ה מַה־לָּךְ֙ לְדֶ֣רֶךְ מִצְרַ֔יִם לִשְׁתּ֖וֹת מֵ֣י שִׁח֑וֹר וּמַה־לָּךְ֙ לְדֶ֣רֶךְ אַשּׁ֔וּר לִשְׁתּ֖וֹת מֵ֥י נָהָֽר׃ Jeremiah Jer 2:18 "But now what are you doing on the road to Egypt, To drink the waters of the Nile? Or what are you doing on the road to Assyria, To drink the waters of the Euphrates? How then have you turned yourself before Me Into the degenerate shoots of a foreign vine?
