Today's Date: ======= Jeremiah 20:1 ============ Jer 20:1 Now Pashur the son of Immer the priest, who was also chief governor in the house of the LORD, heard that Jeremiah prophesied these things.(KJV) Jeremiah 20:1 When Pashur, the sonne of Immer, the Priest, which was appointed gouernour in the house of the Lorde, heard that Ieremiah prophecied these things,(Geneva) Jérémie 20:1 Paschhur, fils d'Immer, sacrificateur et inspecteur en chef dans la maison de l'Eternel, entendit Jérémie qui prophétisait ces choses.(FR) 1 ׃20 וַיִּשְׁמַ֤ע פַּשְׁחוּר֙ בֶּן־אִמֵּ֣ר הַכֹּהֵ֔ן וְהֽוּא־פָקִ֥יד נָגִ֖יד בְּבֵ֣ית יְהוָ֑ה אֶֽת־יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ נִבָּ֖א אֶת־הַדְּבָרִ֥ים הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ Jeremiah Jer 20:1 When Pashhur the priest, the son of Immer, who was chief officer in the house of the Lord, heard Jeremiah prophesying these things, (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 20:2 ============ Jer 20:2 Then Pashur smote Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the high gate of Benjamin, which was by the house of the LORD.(KJV) Jeremiah 20:2 Then Pashur smote Ieremiah the Prophet, and put him in the stockes that were in the hie gate of Beniamin which was by the House of the Lorde.(Geneva) Jérémie 20:2 Et Paschhur frappa Jérémie, le prophète, et le mit dans la prison qui était à la porte supérieure de Benjamin, dans la maison de l'Eternel.(FR) 2 ׃20 וַיַּכֶּ֣ה פַשְׁח֔וּר אֵ֖ת יִרְמְיָ֣הוּ הַנָּבִ֑יא וַיִּתֵּ֨ן אֹת֜וֹ עַל־הַמַּהְפֶּ֗כֶת אֲשֶׁ֨ר בְּשַׁ֤עַר בִּנְיָמִן֙ הָֽעֶלְי֔וֹן אֲשֶׁ֖ר בְּבֵ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃ Jeremiah Jer 20:2 Pashhur had Jeremiah the prophet beaten and put him in the stocks that were at the upper Benjamin Gate, which was by the house of the Lord. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 20:3 ============ Jer 20:3 And it came to pass on the morrow, that Pashur brought forth Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then said Jeremiah unto him, The LORD hath not called thy name Pashur, but Magormissabib.(KJV) Jeremiah 20:3 And on the morning, Pashur brought Ieremiah out of the stockes. Then said Ieremiah vnto him, The Lord hath not called thy name Pashur, but Magor-missabib.(Geneva) Jérémie 20:3 Mais le lendemain, Paschhur fit sortir Jérémie de prison. Et Jérémie lui dit: Ce n'est pas le nom de Paschhur que l'Eternel te donne, c'est celui de Magor-Missabib.(FR) 3 ׃20 וַֽיְהִי֙ מִֽמָּחֳרָ֔ת וַיֹּצֵ֥א פַשְׁח֛וּר אֶֽת־יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ מִן־הַמַּהְפָּ֑כֶת וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֵלָ֜יו יִרְמְיָ֗הוּ לֹ֤א פַשְׁחוּר֙ קָרָ֤א יְהוָה֙ שְׁמֶ֔ךָ כִּ֖י אִם־מָג֥וֹר מִסָּבִֽיב׃ פ Jeremiah Jer 20:3 On the next day, when Pashhur released Jeremiah from the stocks, Jeremiah said to him, "Pashhur is not the name the Lord has called you, but rather Magor-missabib. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 20:4 ============ Jer 20:4 For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will make thee a terror to thyself, and to all thy friends: and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and thine eyes shall behold it: and I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall carry them captive into Babylon, and shall slay them with the sword.(KJV) Jeremiah 20:4 For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will make thee to be a terrour to thy self, & to al thy friends, and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and thine eyes shall beholde it, and I will giue all Iudah into the hande of the King of Babel, and he shall cary them captiue into Babel, and shall slay them with the sworde.(Geneva) Jérémie 20:4 Car ainsi parle l'Eternel: Voici, je te livrerai à la terreur, toi et tous tes amis; ils tomberont par l'épée de leurs ennemis, et tes yeux le verront. Je livrerai aussi tout Juda entre les mains du roi de Babylone, qui les emmènera captifs à Babylone et les frappera de l'épée.(FR) 4 ׃20 כִּ֣י כֹ֣ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֡ה הִנְנִי֩ נֹתֶנְךָ֨ לְמָג֜וֹר לְךָ֣ וּלְכָל־אֹהֲבֶ֗יךָ וְנָֽפְל֛וּ בְּחֶ֥רֶב אֹיְבֵיהֶ֖ם וְעֵינֶ֣יךָ רֹא֑וֹת וְאֶת־כָּל־יְהוּדָ֗ה אֶתֵּן֙ בְּיַ֣ד מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֔ל וְהִגְלָ֥ם בָּבֶ֖לָה וְהִכָּ֥ם בֶּחָֽרֶב׃ Jeremiah Jer 20:4 For thus says the Lord, 'Behold, I am going to make you a terror to yourself and to all your friends; and while your eyes look on, they will fall by the sword of their enemies. So I will give over all Judah to the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will carry them away as exiles to Babylon and will slay them with the sword. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 20:5 ============ Jer 20:5 Moreover I will deliver all the strength of this city, and all the labours thereof, and all the precious things thereof, and all the treasures of the kings of Judah will I give into the hand of their enemies, which shall spoil them, and take them, and carry them to Babylon.(KJV) Jeremiah 20:5 Moreouer, I will deliuer all the substance of this citie, and all the labours thereof, and al the precious things thereof, and all the treasures of the Kings of Iudah will I giue into the hande of their enemies, which shall spoyle them, and take them away and cary them to Babel.(Geneva) Jérémie 20:5 Je livrerai toutes les richesses de cette ville, tout le produit de son travail, tout ce qu'elle a de précieux, je livrerai tous les trésors des rois de Juda entre les mains de leurs ennemis, qui les pilleront, les enlèveront et les transporteront à Babylone.(FR) 5 ׃20 וְנָתַתִּ֗י אֶת־כָּל־חֹ֙סֶן֙ הָעִ֣יר הַזֹּ֔את וְאֶת־כָּל־יְגִיעָ֖הּ וְאֶת־כָּל־יְקָרָ֑הּ וְאֵ֨ת כָּל־אוֹצְר֜וֹת מַלְכֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֗ה אֶתֵּן֙ בְּיַ֣ד אֹֽיְבֵיהֶ֔ם וּבְזָזוּם֙ וּלְקָח֔וּם וֶהֱבִיא֖וּם בָּבֶֽלָה׃ Jeremiah Jer 20:5 I will also give over all the wealth of this city, all its produce and all its costly things; even all the treasures of the kings of Judah I will give over to the hand of their enemies, and they will plunder them, take them away and bring them to Babylon. Et je suis chaque jour un objet de raillerie, Tout le monde se moque de moi.(FR) 7 ׃20 פִּתִּיתַ֤נִי יְהוָה֙ וֽ͏ָאֶפָּ֔ת חֲזַקְתַּ֖נִי וַתּוּכָ֑ל הָיִ֤יתִי לִשְׂחוֹק֙ כָּל־הַיּ֔וֹם כֻּלֹּ֖ה לֹעֵ֥ג לִֽי׃ Jeremiah Jer 20:7 O Lord, You have deceived me and I was deceived; You have overcome me and prevailed. I have become a laughingstock all day long; Everyone mocks me. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 20:8 ============ Jer 20:8 For since I spake, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the LORD was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily.(KJV) Jeremiah 20:8 For since I spake, I cryed out of wrong, and proclaimed desolation: therefore the word of the Lorde was made a reproche vnto me, and in derision daily.(Geneva) Jérémie 20:8 Car toutes les fois que je parle, il faut que je crie, Que je crie à la violence et à l'oppression! Et la parole de l'Eternel est pour moi Un sujet d'opprobre et de risée chaque jour.(FR) 8 ׃20 כִּֽי־מִדֵּ֤י אֲדַבֵּר֙ אֶזְעָ֔ק חָמָ֥ס וָשֹׁ֖ד אֶקְרָ֑א כִּֽי־הָיָ֨ה דְבַר־יְהוָ֥ה לִ֛י לְחֶרְפָּ֥ה וּלְקֶ֖לֶס כָּל־הַיּֽוֹם׃ Jeremiah Jer 20:8 For each time I speak, I cry aloud; I proclaim violence and destruction, Because for me the word of the Lord has resulted In reproach and derision all day long. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 20:9 ============ Jer 20:9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.(KJV) Jeremiah 20:9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speake any more in his Name. Je m'efforce de le contenir, et je ne le puis.(FR) 9 ׃20 וְאָמַרְתִּ֣י לֹֽא־אֶזְכְּרֶ֗נּוּ וְלֹֽא־אֲדַבֵּ֥ר עוֹד֙ בִּשְׁמ֔וֹ וְהָיָ֤ה בְלִבִּי֙ כְּאֵ֣שׁ בֹּעֶ֔רֶת עָצֻ֖ר בְּעַצְמֹתָ֑י וְנִלְאֵ֥יתִי כַּֽלְכֵ֖ל וְלֹ֥א אוּכָֽל׃ Jeremiah Jer 20:9 But if I say, "I will not remember Him Or speak anymore in His name, "Then in my heart it becomes like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; And I am weary of holding it in, And I cannot endure it. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 20:10 ============ Jer 20:10 For I heard the defaming of many, fear on every side. Report, say they, and we will report it. All my familiars watched for my halting, saying, Peradventure he will be enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.(KJV) Jeremiah 20:10 For I had heard the railing of many, and feare on euery side. Declare, said they, and wee wil declare it: all my familiars watched for mine halting, saying, It may be that he is deceiued: so we shall preuaile against him, and we shal execute our vengeance vpon him.(Geneva) Jérémie 20:10 Car j'apprends les mauvais propos de plusieurs, L'épouvante qui règne à l'entour: Accusez-le, et nous l'accuserons! Tous ceux qui étaient en paix avec moi Observent si je chancelle: Peut-être se laissera-t-il surprendre, Et nous serons maîtres de lui, Nous tirerons vengeance de lui!(FR) 10 ׃20 כִּ֣י שָׁמַ֜עְתִּי דִּבַּ֣ת רַבִּים֮ מָג֣וֹר מִסָּבִיב֒ הַגִּ֙ידוּ֙ וְנַגִּידֶ֔נּוּ כֹּ֚ל אֱנ֣וֹשׁ שְׁלוֹמִ֔י שֹׁמְרֵ֖י צַלְעִ֑י אוּלַ֤י יְפֻתֶּה֙ וְנ֣וּכְלָה ל֔וֹ וְנִקְחָ֥ה נִקְמָתֵ֖נוּ מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ Jeremiah Jer 20:10 For I have heard the whispering of many," Terror on every side! Denounce him; yes, let us denounce him!" They will be utterly ashamed, because they have failed, With an everlasting disgrace that will not be forgotten. Qu'il entende des gémissements le matin, Et des cris de guerre à midi!(FR) 16 ׃20 וְהָיָה֙ הָאִ֣ישׁ הַה֔וּא כֶּֽעָרִ֛ים אֲשֶׁר־הָפַ֥ךְ יְהוָ֖ה וְלֹ֣א נִחָ֑ם וְשָׁמַ֤ע זְעָקָה֙ בַּבֹּ֔קֶר וּתְרוּעָ֖ה בְּעֵ֥ת צָהֳרָֽיִם׃ Jeremiah Jer 20:16 But let that man be like the cities Which the Lord overthrew without relenting, And let him hear an outcry in the morning And a shout of alarm at noon; (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 20:17 ============ Jer 20:17 Because he slew me not from the womb; or that my mother might have been my grave, and her womb to be always great with me.(KJV) Jeremiah 20:17 Because he hath not slaine me, euen from the wombe, or that my mother might haue bene my graue, or her wobe a perpetual conception.(Geneva) Jérémie 20:17 Que ne m'a-t-on fait mourir dans le sein de ma mère! Que ne m'a-t-elle servi de tombeau! Que n'est-elle restée éternellement enceinte!(FR) 17 ׃20 אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־מוֹתְתַ֖נִי מֵרָ֑חֶם וַתְּהִי־לִ֤י אִמִּי֙ קִבְרִ֔י וְרַחְמָ֖הֿ הֲרַ֥ת עוֹלָֽם׃ Jeremiah Jer 20:17 Because he did not kill me before birth, So that my mother would have been my grave, And her womb ever pregnant. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 20:18 ============ Jer 20:18 Wherefore came I forth out of the womb to see labour and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?(kjv) Jeremiah 20:18 How is it, that I came forth of the wombe, to see labour and sorowe, that my dayes shoulde be consumed with shame?(Geneva) Jérémie 20:18 Pourquoi suis-je sorti du sein maternel Pour voir la souffrance et la douleur, Et pour consumer mes jours dans la honte?(FR) 18 ׃20 לָ֤מָּה זֶּה֙ מֵרֶ֣חֶם יָצָ֔אתִי לִרְא֥וֹת עָמָ֖ל וְיָג֑וֹן וַיִּכְל֥וּ בְּבֹ֖שֶׁת יָמָֽי׃ פ Jeremiah Jer 20:18 Why did I ever come forth from the womb To look on trouble and sorrow, So that my days have been spent in shame?
