Today's Date: 1 ׃1 דִּבְרֵי֙ קֹהֶ֣לֶת בֶּן־דָּוִ֔ד מֶ֖לֶךְ בִּירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ Ecclesiastes Ecl 1:1 The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem. To the place where the rivers flow, There they flow again. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, Nor is the ear filled with hearing. So there is nothing new under the sun. Already it has existed for ages Which were before us. (nasb) ======= Ecclesiastes 1:13 ============ Ecc 1:13 And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith.(KJV) Ecclesiastes 1:13 And I haue giuen mine heart to search and finde out wisdome by all things that are done vnder the heauen: (this sore trauaile hath GOD giuen to the sonnes of men, to humble them thereby)(Geneva) Ecclésiaste 1:13 J'ai appliqué mon coeur à rechercher et à sonder par la sagesse tout ce qui se fait sous les cieux: c'est là une occupation pénible, à laquelle Dieu soumet les fils de l'homme.(FR) 13 ׃1 וְנָתַ֣תִּי אֶת־לִבִּ֗י לִדְר֤וֹשׁ וְלָתוּר֙ בַּֽחָכְמָ֔ה עַ֛ל כָּל־אֲשֶׁ֥ר נַעֲשָׂ֖ה תַּ֣חַת הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם ה֣וּא ׀ עִנְיַ֣ן רָ֗ע נָתַ֧ן אֱלֹהִ֛ים לִבְנֵ֥י הָאָדָ֖ם לַעֲנ֥וֹת בּֽוֹ׃ Ecclesiastes Ecl 1:13 And I set my mind to seek and explore by wisdom concerning all that has been done under heaven. It is a grievous task which God has given to the sons of men to be afflicted with. (nasb) ======= Ecclesiastes 1:14 ============ Ecc 1:14 I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.(KJV) Ecclesiastes 1:14 I haue considered all the workes that are done vnder the sunne, and beholde, all is vanitie, and vexation of the spirit.(Geneva) Ecclésiaste 1:14 J'ai vu tout ce qui se fait sous le soleil; et voici, tout est vanité et poursuite du vent.(FR) 14 ׃1 רָאִ֙יתִי֙ אֶת־כָּל־הַֽמַּעֲשִׂ֔ים שֶֽׁנַּעֲשׂ֖וּ תַּ֣חַת הַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁ וְהִנֵּ֥ה הַכֹּ֛ל הֶ֖בֶל וּרְע֥וּת רֽוּחַ׃ Ecclesiastes Ecl 1:14 I have seen all the works which have been done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and striving after wind. (nasb) ======= Ecclesiastes 1:15 ============ Ecc 1:15 That which is crooked cannot be made straight: and that which is wanting cannot be numbered.(KJV) Ecclesiastes 1:15 That which is crooked, can none make straight: and that which faileth, cannot be nombred.(Geneva) Ecclésiaste 1:15 Ce qui est courbé ne peut se redresser, et ce qui manque ne peut être compté.(FR) 15 ׃1 מְעֻוָּ֖ת לֹא־יוּכַ֣ל לִתְקֹ֑ן וְחֶסְר֖וֹן לֹא־יוּכַ֥ל לְהִמָּנֽוֹת׃ Ecclesiastes Ecl 1:15 What is crooked cannot be straightened and what is lacking cannot be counted. (nasb) ======= Ecclesiastes 1:16 ============ Ecc 1:16 I communed with mine own heart, saying, Lo, I am come to great estate, and have gotten more wisdom than all they that have been before me in Jerusalem: yea, my heart had great experience of wisdom and knowledge.(KJV) Ecclesiastes 1:16 I thought in mine heart, and said, Behold, I am become great, and excell in wisdome all them that haue bene before me in Ierusalem: and mine heart hath seene much wisedome and knowledge.(Geneva) Ecclésiaste 1:16 J'ai dit en mon coeur: Voici, j'ai grandi et surpassé en sagesse tous ceux qui ont dominé avant moi sur Jérusalem, et mon coeur a vu beaucoup de sagesse et de science.(FR) 16 ׃1 דִּבַּ֨רְתִּי אֲנִ֤י עִם־לִבִּי֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר אֲנִ֗י הִנֵּ֨ה הִגְדַּ֤לְתִּי וְהוֹסַ֙פְתִּי֙ חָכְמָ֔ה עַ֛ל כָּל־אֲשֶׁר־הָיָ֥ה לְפָנַ֖י עַל־יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וְלִבִּ֛י רָאָ֥ה הַרְבֵּ֖ה חָכְמָ֥ה וָדָֽעַת׃ Ecclesiastes Ecl 1:16 I said to myself, "Behold, I have magnified and increased wisdom more than all who were over Jerusalem before me; and my mind has observed a wealth of wisdom and knowledge."(nasb) ======= Ecclesiastes 1:17 ============ Ecc 1:17 And I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit.(KJV) Ecclesiastes 1:17 And I gaue mine heart to knowe wisdome and knowledge, madnes and foolishnes: I knew also that this is a vexation of the spirit.(Geneva) Ecclésiaste 1:17 J'ai appliqué mon coeur à connaître la sagesse, et à connaître la sottise et la folie; j'ai compris que cela aussi c'est la poursuite du vent.(FR) 17 ׃1 וָאֶתְּנָ֤ה לִבִּי֙ לָדַ֣עַת חָכְמָ֔ה וְדַ֥עַת הוֹלֵל֖וֹת וְשִׂכְל֑וּת יָדַ֕עְתִּי שֶׁגַּם־זֶ֥ה ה֖וּא רַעְי֥וֹן רֽוּחַ׃ Ecclesiastes Ecl 1:17 And I set my mind to know wisdom and to know madness and folly; I realized that this also is striving after wind.
