They ask Me for just decisions, They delight in the nearness of God. (nasb) ======= Isaiah 58:3 ============ Isa 58:3 Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.(KJV) Isaiah 58:3 Wherefore haue we fasted, and thou seest it not? we haue punished our selues, and thou regardest it not. Beholde, in the day of your fast you will seeke your will, and require all your dettes.(Geneva) Ésaïe 58:3 Que nous sert de jeûner, si tu ne le vois pas? Why have we humbled ourselves and You do not notice?'Behold, on the day of your fast you find your desire, And drive hard all your workers. You do not fast like you do today to make your voice heard on high. (nasb) ======= Isaiah 58:5 ============ Isa 58:5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?(KJV) Isaiah 58:5 Is it such a fast that I haue chosen, that a man should afflict his soule for a day, and to bowe downe his head, as a bull rush, and to lie downe in sackecloth and ashes? wilt thou call this a fasting, or an acceptable day to the Lord?(Geneva) Ésaïe 58:5 Est-ce là le jeûne auquel je prends plaisir, Un jour où l'homme humilie son âme? (nasb) ======= Isaiah 58:9 ============ Isa 58:9 Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;(KJV) Isaiah 58:9 Then shalt thou call, and the Lorde shall answere: thou shalt cry and hee shall say, Here I am: if thou take away from the mids of thee the yoke, the putting foorth of the finger, and wicked speaking:(Geneva) Ésaïe 58:9 Alors tu appelleras, et l'Eternel répondra; Tu crieras, et il dira: Me voici! Si tu éloignes du milieu de toi le joug, Les gestes menaçants et les discours injurieux,(FR) 9 ׃58 אָ֤ז תִּקְרָא֙ וַיהוָ֣ה יַעֲנֶ֔ה תְּשַׁוַּ֖ע וְיֹאמַ֣ר הִנֵּ֑נִי אִם־תָּסִ֤יר מִתּֽוֹכְךָ֙ מוֹטָ֔ה שְׁלַ֥ח אֶצְבַּ֖ע וְדַבֶּר־אָֽוֶן׃ Isaiah Isa 58:9 "Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; You will cry, and He will say, 'Here I am.'If you remove the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger and speaking wickedness, (nasb) ======= Isaiah 58:10 ============ Isa 58:10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day:(KJV) Isaiah 58:10 If thou powre out thy soule to the hungrie, and refresh the troubled soule: then shall thy light spring out in the darkenes, and thy darkenes shalbe as the noone day.(Geneva) Ésaïe 58:10 Si tu donnes ta propre subsistance à celui qui a faim, Si tu rassasies l'âme indigente, Ta lumière se lèvera sur l'obscurité, Et tes ténèbres seront comme le midi.(FR) 10 ׃58 וְתָפֵ֤ק לָֽרָעֵב֙ נַפְשֶׁ֔ךָ וְנֶ֥פֶשׁ נַעֲנָ֖ה תַּשְׂבִּ֑יעַ וְזָרַ֤ח בַּחֹ֙שֶׁךְ֙ אוֹרֶ֔ךָ וַאֲפֵלָתְךָ֖ כַּֽצָּהֳרָֽיִם׃ Isaiah Isa 58:10 And if you give yourself to the hungry And satisfy the desire of the afflicted, Then your light will rise in darkness And your gloom will become like midday. (nasb) ======= Isaiah 58:13 ============ Isa 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:(KJV) Isaiah 58:13 If thou turne away thy foote from the Sabbath, from doing thy will on mine holy day, and call the Sabbath a delite, to consecrate it, as glorious to the Lorde, and shalt honour him, not doing thine owne wayes, nor seeking thine owne will, nor speaking a vaine word,(Geneva) Ésaïe 58:13 Si tu retiens ton pied pendant le sabbat, Pour ne pas faire ta volonté en mon saint jour, Si tu fais du sabbat tes délices, Pour sanctifier l'Eternel en le glorifiant, Et si tu l'honores en ne suivant point tes voies, En ne te livrant pas à tes penchants et à de vains discours,(FR) 13 ׃58 אִם־תָּשִׁ֤יב מִשַּׁבָּת֙ רַגְלֶ֔ךָ עֲשׂ֥וֹת חֲפָצֶ֖יךָ בְּי֣וֹם קָדְשִׁ֑י וְקָרָ֨אתָ לַשַּׁבָּ֜ת עֹ֗נֶג לִקְד֤וֹשׁ יְהוָה֙ מְכֻבָּ֔ד וְכִבַּדְתּוֹ֙ מֵעֲשׂ֣וֹת דְּרָכֶ֔יךָ מִמְּצ֥וֹא חֶפְצְךָ֖ וְדַבֵּ֥ר דָּבָֽר׃ Isaiah Isa 58:13 "If because of the sabbath, you turn your foot From doing your own pleasure on My holy day, And call the sabbath a delight, the holy day of the Lord honorable, And honor it, desisting from your own ways, From seeking your own pleasure And speaking your own word, (nasb) ======= Isaiah 58:14 ============ Isa 58:14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.(kjv) Isaiah 58:14 Then shalt thou delite in the Lord, & I wil cause thee to mount vpon the hie places of the earth, and feede thee with the heritage of Iaakob thy father: for the mouth of ye Lord hath spoken it.(Geneva) Ésaïe 58:14 Alors tu mettras ton plaisir en l'Eternel, Et je te ferai monter sur les hauteurs du pays, Je te ferai jouir de l'héritage de Jacob, ton père; Car la bouche de l'Eternel a parlé.(FR) 14 ׃58 אָ֗ז תִּתְעַנַּג֙ עַל־יְהוָ֔ה וְהִרְכַּבְתִּ֖יךָ עַל־בָּ֣מֳותֵי אָ֑רֶץ וְהַאֲכַלְתִּ֗יךָ נַחֲלַת֙ יַעֲקֹ֣ב אָבִ֔יךָ כִּ֛י פִּ֥י יְהוָ֖ה דִּבֵּֽר׃ ס Isaiah Isa 58:14 Then you will take delight in the Lord, And I will make you ride on the heights of the earth; And I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father, For the mouth of the Lord has spoken."
