Today's Date: ======= Jeremiah 14:1 ============ Jer 14:1 The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah concerning the dearth.(KJV) Jeremiah 14:1 The worde of the Lord that came vnto Ieremiah, concerning the dearth.(Geneva) Jérémie 14:1 La parole qui fut adressée à Jérémie par l'Eternel, à l'occasion de la sécheresse.(FR) 1 ׃14 אֲשֶׁ֨ר הָיָ֤ה דְבַר־יְהוָה֙ אֶֽל־יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ עַל־דִּבְרֵ֖י הַבַּצָּרֽוֹת׃ Jeremiah Jer 14:1 That which came as the word of the Lord to Jeremiah in regard to the drought: (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 14:2 ============ Jer 14:2 Judah mourneth, and the gates thereof languish; they are black unto the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.(KJV) Jeremiah 14:2 Iudah hath mourned, and the gates thereof are desolate, they haue bene brought to heauinesse vnto the grounde, and the cry of Ierusalem goeth vp.(Geneva) Jérémie 14:2 Juda est dans le deuil, Ses villes sont désolées, tristes, abattues, Et les cris de Jérusalem s'élèvent.(FR) 2 ׃14 אָבְלָ֣ה יְהוּדָ֔ה וּשְׁעָרֶ֥יהָ אֻמְלְל֖וּ קָדְר֣וּ לָאָ֑רֶץ וְצִוְחַ֥ת יְרוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם עָלָֽתָה׃ Jeremiah Jer 14:2 "Judah mourns And her gates languish; They sit on the ground in mourning, And the cry of Jerusalem has ascended. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 14:3 ============ Jer 14:3 And their nobles have sent their little ones to the waters: they came to the pits, and found no water; they returned with their vessels empty; they were ashamed and confounded, and covered their heads.(KJV) Jeremiah 14:3 And their nobles haue sent their inferiours to the water, who came to the welles, and founde no water: they returned with their vessels empty: they were ashamed and confounded, and couered their heads.(Geneva) Jérémie 14:3 Les grands envoient les petits chercher de l'eau, Et les petits vont aux citernes, ne trouvent point d'eau, Et retournent avec leurs vases vides; Confus et honteux, ils se couvrent la tête.(FR) 3 ׃14 וְאַדִּ֣רֵיהֶ֔ם שָׁלְח֥וּ *צעוריהם **צְעִירֵיהֶ֖ם לַמָּ֑יִם בָּ֣אוּ עַל־גֵּבִ֞ים לֹא־מָ֣צְאוּ מַ֗יִם שָׁ֤בוּ כְלֵיהֶם֙ רֵיקָ֔ם בֹּ֥שׁוּ וְהָכְלְמ֖וּ וְחָפ֥וּ רֹאשָֽׁם׃ Jeremiah Jer 14:3 "Their nobles have sent their servants for water; They have come to the cisterns and found no water. They have returned with their vessels empty; They have been put to shame and humiliated, And they cover their heads. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 14:4 ============ Jer 14:4 Because the ground is chapt, for there was no rain in the earth, the plowmen were ashamed, they covered their heads.(KJV) Jeremiah 14:4 For the grounde was destroyed, because there was no rayne in the earth: the plowmen were ashamed, and couered their heads.(Geneva) Jérémie 14:4 La terre est saisie d'épouvante, Parce qu'il ne tombe point de pluie dans le pays, Et les laboureurs confus se couvrent la tête.(FR) 4 ׃14 בַּעֲב֤וּר הָאֲדָמָה֙ חַ֔תָּה כִּ֛י לֹא־הָיָ֥ה גֶ֖שֶׁם בָּאָ֑רֶץ בֹּ֥שׁוּ אִכָּרִ֖ים חָפ֥וּ רֹאשָֽׁם׃ Jeremiah Jer 14:4 "Because the ground is cracked, For there has been no rain on the land; The farmers have been put to shame, They have covered their heads. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 14:5 ============ Jer 14:5 Yea, the hind also calved in the field, and forsook it, because there was no grass.(KJV) Jeremiah 14:5 Yea, the hinde also calued in the fielde, & forsooke it, because there was no grasse.(Geneva) Jérémie 14:5 Même la biche dans la campagne Met bas et abandonne sa portée, Parce qu'il n'y a point de verdure.(FR) 5 ׃14 כִּ֤י גַם־אַיֶּ֙לֶת֙ בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה יָלְדָ֖ה וְעָז֑וֹב כִּ֥י לֹֽא־הָיָ֖ה דֶּֽשֶׁא׃ Jeremiah Jer 14:5 "For even the doe in the field has given birth only to abandon her young, Because there is no grass. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 14:6 ============ Jer 14:6 And the wild asses did stand in the high places, they snuffed up the wind like dragons; their eyes did fail, because there was no grass.(KJV) Jeremiah 14:6 And the wilde asses did stande in the hygh places, & drew in their winde like dragons their eyes did faile, because there was no grasse.(Geneva) Jérémie 14:6 Les ânes sauvages se tiennent sur les lieux élevés, Aspirant l'air comme des serpents; Leurs yeux languissent, parce qu'il n'y a point d'herbe.(FR) 6 ׃14 וּפְרָאִים֙ עָמְד֣וּ עַל־שְׁפָיִ֔ם שָׁאֲפ֥וּ ר֖וּחַ כַּתַּנִּ֑ים כָּל֥וּ עֵינֵיהֶ֖ם כִּי־אֵ֥ין עֵֽשֶׂב׃ Jeremiah Jer 14:6 "The wild donkeys stand on the bare heights; They pant for air like jackals, Their eyes fail For there is no vegetation. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 14:7 ============ Jer 14:7 O LORD, though our iniquities testify against us, do thou it for thy name's sake: for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against thee.(KJV) Jeremiah 14:7 O Lorde, though our iniquities testifie against vs, deale with vs according to thy name: for our rebellions are many, we sinned against thee.(Geneva) Jérémie 14:7 Si nos iniquités témoignent contre nous, Agis à cause de ton nom, ô Eternel! Car nos infidélités sont nombreuses, Nous avons péché contre toi.(FR) 7 ׃14 אִם־עֲוֺנֵ֙ינוּ֙ עָ֣נוּ בָ֔נוּ יְהוָ֕ה עֲשֵׂ֖ה לְמַ֣עַן שְׁמֶ֑ךָ כִּֽי־רַבּ֥וּ מְשׁוּבֹתֵ֖ינוּ לְךָ֥ חָטָֽאנוּ׃ Jeremiah Jer 14:7 "Although our iniquities testify against us, O Lord, act for Your name's sake! Truly our apostasies have been many, We have sinned against You. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 14:8 ============ Jer 14:8 O the hope of Israel, the saviour thereof in time of trouble, why shouldest thou be as a stranger in the land, and as a wayfaring man that turneth aside to tarry for a night?(KJV) Jeremiah 14:8 O the hope of Israel, the sauiour thereof in the time of trouble, why art thou as a strager in ye land, as one that passeth by to tary for a night?(Geneva) Jérémie 14:8 Toi qui es l'espérance d'Israël, Son sauveur au temps de la détresse, Pourquoi serais-tu comme un étranger dans le pays, Comme un voyageur qui y entre pour passer la nuit?(FR) 8 ׃14 מִקְוֵה֙ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל מֽוֹשִׁיע֖וֹ בְּעֵ֣ת צָרָ֑ה לָ֤מָּה תִֽהְיֶה֙ כְּגֵ֣ר בָּאָ֔רֶץ וּכְאֹרֵ֖חַ נָטָ֥ה לָלֽוּן׃ Jeremiah Jer 14:8 "O Hope of Israel, Its Savior in time of distress, Why are You like a stranger in the land Or like a traveler who has pitched his tent for the night? (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 14:9 ============ Jer 14:9 Why shouldest thou be as a man astonied, as a mighty man that cannot save? yet thou, O LORD, art in the midst of us, and we are called by thy name; leave us not.(KJV) Jeremiah 14:9 Why art thou as a man astonied, and as a strong man that cannot helpe? Yet thou, O Lord, art in the middes of vs, and thy Name is called vpon vs: forsake vs not.(Geneva) Jérémie 14:9 Pourquoi serais-tu comme un homme stupéfait, Comme un héros incapable de nous secourir? Tu es pourtant au milieu de nous, ô Eternel, Et ton nom est invoqué sur nous: Ne nous abandonne pas!(FR) 9 ׃14 לָ֤מָּה תִֽהְיֶה֙ כְּאִ֣ישׁ נִדְהָ֔ם כְּגִבּ֖וֹר לֹא־יוּכַ֣ל לְהוֹשִׁ֑יעַ וְאַתָּ֧ה בְקִרְבֵּ֣נוּ יְהוָ֗ה וְשִׁמְךָ֛ עָלֵ֥ינוּ נִקְרָ֖א אַל־תַּנִּחֵֽנוּ׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 14:9 "Why are You like a man dismayed, Like a mighty man who cannot save? Yet You are in our midst, O Lord, And we are called by Your name; Do not forsake us!"(nasb) ======= Jeremiah 14:10 ============ Jer 14:10 Thus saith the LORD unto this people, Thus have they loved to wander, they have not refrained their feet, therefore the LORD doth not accept them; he will now remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.(KJV) Jeremiah 14:10 Thus saith the Lord vnto this people, Thus haue they delited to wander: they haue not refrained their feete, therefore the Lorde hath no delight in them: but he will now remember their iniquitie, and visite their sinnes.(Geneva) Jérémie 14:10 Voici ce que l'Eternel dit de ce peuple: Ils aiment à courir çà et là, Ils ne savent retenir leurs pieds; L'Eternel n'a point d'attachement pour eux, Il se souvient maintenant de leurs crimes, Et il châtie leurs péchés.(FR) 10 ׃14 כֹּֽה־אָמַ֨ר יְהוָ֜ה לָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֗ה כֵּ֤ן אָֽהֲבוּ֙ לָנ֔וּעַ רַגְלֵיהֶ֖ם לֹ֣א חָשָׂ֑כוּ וַיהוָה֙ לֹ֣א רָצָ֔ם עַתָּה֙ יִזְכֹּ֣ר עֲוֺנָ֔ם וְיִפְקֹ֖ד חַטֹּאתָֽם׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 14:10 Thus says the Lord to this people," Even so they have loved to wander; they have not kept their feet in check. Therefore the Lord does not accept them; now He will remember their iniquity and call their sins to account."(nasb) ======= Jeremiah 14:11 ============ Jer 14:11 Then said the LORD unto me, Pray not for this people for their good.(KJV) Jeremiah 14:11 Then sayd the Lord vnto me, Thou shalt not pray to do this people good.(Geneva) Jérémie 14:11 Et l'Eternel me dit: N'intercède pas en faveur de ce peuple.(FR) 11 ׃14 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהוָ֖ה אֵלָ֑י אַל־תִּתְפַּלֵּ֛ל בְּעַד־הָעָ֥ם הַזֶּ֖ה לְטוֹבָֽה׃ Jeremiah Jer 14:11 So the Lord said to me, "Do not pray for the welfare of this people. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 14:12 ============ Jer 14:12 When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.(KJV) Jeremiah 14:12 When they fast, I will not heare their cry, and when they offer burnt offering, and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sworde, and by the famine and by the pestilence.(Geneva) Jérémie 14:12 S'ils jeûnent, je n'écouterai pas leurs supplications; S'ils offrent des holocaustes et des offrandes, je ne les agréerai pas; Car je veux les détruire par l'épée, par la famine et par la peste.(FR) 12 ׃14 כִּ֣י יָצֻ֗מוּ אֵינֶ֤נִּי שֹׁמֵ֙עַ֙ אֶל־רִנָּתָ֔ם וְכִ֧י יַעֲל֛וּ עֹלָ֥ה וּמִנְחָ֖ה אֵינֶ֣נִּי רֹצָ֑ם כִּ֗י בַּחֶ֙רֶב֙ וּבָרָעָ֣ב וּבַדֶּ֔בֶר אָנֹכִ֖י מְכַלֶּ֥ה אוֹתָֽם׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 14:12 When they fast, I am not going to listen to their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and grain offering, I am not going to accept them. Rather I am going to make an end of them by the sword, famine and pestilence." (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 14:13 ============ Jer 14:13 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, the prophets say unto them, Ye shall not see the sword, neither shall ye have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place.(KJV) Jeremiah 14:13 Then answered I, Ah Lord God, beholde, the prophets say vnto them, Ye shal not see the sworde, neither shal famine come vpon you, but I wil giue you assured peace in this place.(Geneva) Jérémie 14:13 Je répondis: Ah! Seigneur Eternel! Voici, les prophètes leur disent: Vous ne verrez point d'épée, Vous n'aurez point de famine; Mais je vous donnerai dans ce lieu une paix assurée.(FR) 13 ׃14 וָאֹמַ֞ר אֲהָ֣הּ ׀ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֗ה הִנֵּ֨ה הַנְּבִאִ֜ים אֹמְרִ֤ים לָהֶם֙ לֹֽא־תִרְא֣וּ חֶ֔רֶב וְרָעָ֖ב לֹֽא־יִהְיֶ֣ה לָכֶ֑ם כִּֽי־שְׁל֤וֹם אֱמֶת֙ אֶתֵּ֣ן לָכֶ֔ם בַּמָּק֖וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 14:13 But," Ah, Lord God!" I said, "Look, the prophets are telling them, 'You will not see the sword nor will you have famine, but I will give you lasting peace in this place.'"(nasb) ======= Jeremiah 14:14 ============ Jer 14:14 Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.(KJV) Jeremiah 14:14 Then the Lord said vnto me, The prophets prophecie lyes in my Name: I haue not sent them, neither did I command them, neither spake I vnto them, but they prophecie vnto you a false vision, and diuination, and vanitie, and deceitfulnes of their owne heart.(Geneva) Jérémie 14:14 Et l'Eternel me dit: C'est le mensonge que prophétisent en mon nom les prophètes; Je ne les ai point envoyés, je ne leur ai point donné d'ordre, Je ne leur ai point parlé; Ce sont des visions mensongères, de vaines prédictions, Des tromperies de leur coeur, qu'ils vous prophétisent.(FR) 14 ׃14 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֵלַ֗י שֶׁ֚קֶר הַנְּבִאִים֙ נִבְּאִ֣ים בִּשְׁמִ֔י לֹ֤א שְׁלַחְתִּים֙ וְלֹ֣א צִוִּיתִ֔ים וְלֹ֥א דִבַּ֖רְתִּי אֲלֵיהֶ֑ם חֲז֨וֹן שֶׁ֜קֶר וְקֶ֤סֶם *ואלול **וֶֽאֱלִיל֙ *ותרמות **וְתַרְמִ֣ית לִבָּ֔ם הֵ֖מָּה מִֽתְנַבְּאִ֥ים לָכֶֽם׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 14:14 Then the Lord said to me, "The prophets are prophesying falsehood in My name. I have neither sent them nor commanded them nor spoken to them; they are prophesying to you a false vision, divination, futility and the deception of their own minds. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 14:15 ============ Jer 14:15 Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land; By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.(KJV) Jeremiah 14:15 Therefore thus saith the Lord, Concerning the prophets that prophecie in my Name, whom I haue not sent, yet they say, Sworde and famine shal not be in this land, by sword and famine shal those prophets be consumed.(Geneva) Jérémie 14:15 C'est pourquoi ainsi parle l'Eternel Sur les prophètes qui prophétisent en mon nom, Sans que je les aie envoyés, Et qui disent: Il n'y aura dans ce pays ni épée ni famine: Ces prophètes périront par l'épée et par la famine.(FR) 15 ׃14 לָכֵ֞ן כֹּֽה־אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה עַֽל־הַנְּבִאִ֞ים הַנִּבְּאִ֣ים בִּשְׁמִי֮ וַאֲנִ֣י לֹֽא־שְׁלַחְתִּים֒ וְהֵ֙מָּה֙ אֹֽמְרִ֔ים חֶ֣רֶב וְרָעָ֔ב לֹ֥א יִהְיֶ֖ה בָּאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּ֑את בַּחֶ֤רֶב וּבָֽרָעָב֙ יִתַּ֔מּוּ הַנְּבִאִ֖ים הָהֵֽמָּה׃ Jeremiah Jer 14:15 Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the prophets who are prophesying in My name, although it was not I who sent them - yet they keep saying, 'There will be no sword or famine in this land' - by sword and famine those prophets shall meet their end! (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 14:16 ============ Jer 14:16 And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to bury them, them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters: for I will pour their wickedness upon them.(KJV) Jeremiah 14:16 And the people to whome these prophets doe prophecie, shalbe cast out in the streetes of Ierusalem, because of the famine, & the sword, & there shall be none to bury them, both they, and their wiues, and their sonnes, and their daughters: for I wil powre their wickednes vpon them.(Geneva) Jérémie 14:16 Et ceux à qui ils prophétisent Seront étendus dans les rues de Jérusalem, Par la famine et par l'épée; Il n'y aura personne pour leur donner la sépulture, Ni à eux, ni à leurs femmes, ni à leurs fils, ni à leurs filles; Je répandrai sur eux leur méchanceté.(FR) 16 ׃14 וְהָעָ֣ם אֲשֶׁר־הֵ֣מָּה נִבְּאִ֣ים לָהֶ֡ם יִֽהְי֣וּ מֻשְׁלָכִים֩ בְּחֻצ֨וֹת יְרוּשָׁלִַ֜ם מִפְּנֵ֣י ׀ הָרָעָ֣ב וְהַחֶ֗רֶב וְאֵ֤ין מְקַבֵּר֙ לָהֵ֔מָּה הֵ֣מָּה נְשֵׁיהֶ֔ם וּבְנֵיהֶ֖ם וּבְנֹֽתֵיהֶ֑ם וְשָׁפַכְתִּ֥י עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם אֶת־רָעָתָֽם׃ Jeremiah Jer 14:16 The people also to whom they are prophesying will be thrown out into the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and there will be no one to bury them - neither them, nor their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters - for I will pour out their own wickedness on them. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 14:17 ============ Jer 14:17 Therefore thou shalt say this word unto them; Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease: for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous blow.(KJV) Jeremiah 14:17 Therefore thou shalt say this worde vnto them, Let mine eyes drop downe teares night & day without ceasing: for the virgine daughter of my people is destroyed with a great destruction, and with a sore grieuous plague.(Geneva) Jérémie 14:17 Dis-leur cette parole: Les larmes coulent de mes yeux nuit et jour, Et elles ne s'arrêtent pas; Car la vierge, fille de mon peuple, a été frappée d'un grand coup, D'une plaie très douloureuse.(FR) 17 ׃14 וְאָמַרְתָּ֤ אֲלֵיהֶם֙ אֶת־הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֔ה תֵּרַ֨דְנָה עֵינַ֥י דִּמְעָ֛ה לַ֥יְלָה וְיוֹמָ֖ם וְאַל־תִּדְמֶ֑ינָה כִּי֩ שֶׁ֨בֶר גָּד֜וֹל נִשְׁבְּרָ֗ה בְּתוּלַת֙ בַּת־עַמִּ֔י מַכָּ֖ה נַחְלָ֥ה מְאֹֽד׃ Jeremiah Jer 14:17 "You will say this word to them, 'Let my eyes flow down with tears night and day, And let them not cease; For the virgin daughter of my people has been crushed with a mighty blow, With a sorely infected wound. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 14:18 ============ Jer 14:18 If I go forth into the field, then behold the slain with the sword! and if I enter into the city, then behold them that are sick with famine! yea, both the prophet and the priest go about into a land that they know not.(KJV) Jeremiah 14:18 For if I go into the field, behold the slaine with the sworde: and if I enter into the citie, behold them that are sicke for hunger also: moreouer the Prophet also & the Priest go a wandring into a land that they know not.(Geneva) Jérémie 14:18 Si je vais dans les champs, voici des hommes que le glaive a percés; Si j'entre dans la ville, voici des êtres que consume la faim; Le prophète même et le sacrificateur parcourent le pays, Sans savoir où ils vont.(FR) 18 ׃14 אִם־יָצָ֣אתִי הַשָּׂדֶ֗ה וְהִנֵּה֙ חַלְלֵי־חֶ֔רֶב וְאִם֙ בָּ֣אתִי הָעִ֔יר וְהִנֵּ֖ה תַּחֲלוּאֵ֣י רָעָ֑ב כִּֽי־גַם־נָבִ֧יא גַם־כֹּהֵ֛ן סָחֲר֥וּ אֶל־אֶ֖רֶץ וְלֹ֥א יָדָֽעוּ׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 14:18 'If I go out to the country, Behold, those slain with the sword! Or if I enter the city, Behold, diseases of famine! For both prophet and priest Have gone roving about in the land that they do not know.'"(nasb) ======= Jeremiah 14:19 ============ Jer 14:19 Hast thou utterly rejected Judah? hath thy soul lothed Zion? why hast thou smitten us, and there is no healing for us? we looked for peace, and there is no good; and for the time of healing, and behold trouble!(KJV) Jeremiah 14:19 Hast thou vtterly reiected Iudah, or hath thy soule abhorred Zion? why hast thou smitten vs, that we cannot be healed? Wee looked for peace, and there is no good, and for the time of health, and behold trouble.(Geneva) Jérémie 14:19 As-tu donc rejeté Juda, Et ton âme a-t-elle pris Sion en horreur? Pourquoi nous frappes-tu Sans qu'il y ait pour nous de guérison? Nous espérions la paix, et il n'arrive rien d'heureux, Un temps de guérison, et voici la terreur!(FR) 19 ׃14 הֲמָאֹ֨ס מָאַ֜סְתָּ אֶת־יְהוּדָ֗ה אִם־בְּצִיּוֹן֙ גָּעֲלָ֣ה נַפְשֶׁ֔ךָ מַדּ֙וּעַ֙ הִכִּיתָ֔נוּ וְאֵ֥ין לָ֖נוּ מַרְפֵּ֑א קַוֵּ֤ה לְשָׁלוֹם֙ וְאֵ֣ין ט֔וֹב וּלְעֵ֥ת מַרְפֵּ֖א וְהִנֵּ֥ה בְעָתָֽה׃ Jeremiah Jer 14:19 Have You completely rejected Judah? Or have You loathed Zion? Why have You stricken us so that we are beyond healing? We waited for peace, but nothing good came; And for a time of healing, but behold, terror!
