And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?(KJV) Luke 4:22 And all bare him witnes, and wondered at the gracious wordes, which proceeded out of his mouth, and said, Is not this Iosephs sonne?(Geneva) Luc 4:22 Et tous lui rendaient témoignage; ils étaient étonnés des paroles de grâce qui sortaient de sa bouche, et ils disaient: N'est-ce pas le fils de Joseph?(FR) וְכֻלָּם נָשְׂאוּ לוֹ עֵדוּת כִּי נִפְלְאוּ בְעֵינֵיהֶם דִּבְרֵי־חֵן אֲשֶׁר יָצְאוּ מִפִּיו וַיֹּאמְרוּ הֲלֹא זֶה הוּא בֶן־יוֹסֵף׃ כב Luke Luk 4:22 And all were speaking well of Him, and wondering at the gracious words which were falling from His lips; and they were saying, "Is this not Joseph's son?"(nasb) ======= Luke 4:23 ============ Luk 4:23 And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country.(KJV) Luke 4:23 Then he said vnto them, Ye will surely say vnto mee this prouerbe, Physician, heale thy selfe: whatsoeuer we haue heard done in Capernaum, doe it here likewise in thine owne countrey.(Geneva) Luc 4:23 Jésus leur dit: Sans doute vous m'appliquerez ce proverbe: Médecin, guéris-toi toi-même; et vous me direz: Fais ici, dans ta patrie, tout ce que nous avons appris que tu as fait à Capernaüm.(FR) וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם אָכֵן תֹּאמְרוּ לִי אֶת־הַמָּשָׁל הַהוּא רֹפֵא רְפָא אֶת־נַפְשֶׁךָ וּכְכֹל אֲשֶׁר שָׁמַעְנוּ כִּי נַעֲשָׂה בִּכְפַר־נַחוּם עֲשֵׂה־כֵן גַּם־הֲלֹם בְּעִירֶךָ׃ כג Luke Luk 4:23 And He said to them, "No doubt you will quote this proverb to Me, 'Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we heard was done at Capernaum, do here in your hometown as well.'"(nasb) ======= Luke 4:24 ============ Luk 4:24 And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.(KJV) Luke 4:24 And he saide, Verely I say vnto you, No Prophet is accepted in his owne countrey.(Geneva) Luc 4:24 Mais, ajouta-t-il, je vous le dis en vérité, aucun prophète n'est bien reçu dans sa patrie.(FR) וַיֹּאמַר הֵן דְּבַר אֱמֶת אֲנִי מַגִּיד לָכֶם אֵין נָבִיא רָצוּי בְּאֶרֶץ מוֹלַדְתּוֹ׃ כד Luke Luk 4:24 And He said, "Truly I say to you, no prophet is welcome in his hometown. (nasb) ======= Luke 4:25 ============ Luk 4:25 But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;(KJV) Luke 4:25 But I tell you of a trueth, many widowes were in Israel in the dayes of Elias, when heauen was shut three yeres and sixe moneths, when great famine was throughout all the land:(Geneva) Luc 4:25 Je vous le dis en vérité: il y avait plusieurs veuves en Israël du temps d'Elie, lorsque le ciel fut fermé trois ans et six mois et qu'il y eut une grande famine sur toute la terre;(FR) אָמֵן אֲנִי אֹמֵר לָכֶם אַלְמָנוֹת רַבּוֹת הָיוּ בְיִשְׂרָאֵל בִּימֵי אֵלִיָּהוּ בְּהֵעָצֵר הַשָּׁמַיִם שָׁלֹשׁ שָׁנִים וְשִׁשָּׁה חֳדָשִׁים וְרָעָב גָּדוֹל הָיָה בְכָל־הָאָרֶץ׃ כה Luke Luk 4:25 But I say to you in truth, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up for three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land; (nasb) ======= Luke 4:26 ============ Luk 4:26 But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.(KJV) Luke 4:26 But vnto none of them was Elias sent, saue into Sarepta, a citie of Sidon, vnto a certaine widowe.(Geneva) Luc 4:26 et cependant Elie ne fut envoyé vers aucune d'elles, si ce n'est vers une femme veuve, à Sarepta, dans le pays de Sidon.(FR) וְלֹא שֻׁלַּח אֵלִיָּהוּ אֶל־אַחַת מֵהֶן בִּלְתִּי אֶל־אִשָּׁה אַלְמָנָה בְּצָרְפַת אֲשֶׁר לְצִידוֹן׃ כו Luke Luk 4:26 and yet Elijah was sent to none of them, but only to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. (nasb) ======= Luke 4:33 ============ Luk 4:33 And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,(KJV) Luke 4:33 And in the Synagogue there was a man which had a spirit of an vncleane deuill, which cryed with a loude voyce,(Geneva) Luc 4:33 Il se trouva dans la synagogue un homme qui avait un esprit de démon impur, et qui s'écria d'une voix forte:(FR) וְאִישׁ הָיָה בְּבֵית־הַכְּנֵסֶת וּבוֹ דָבַק רוּחַ טָמֵא וְנִתְעָב וַיִּקְרָא בְּקוֹל גָּדוֹל׃ לג Luke Luk 4:33 In the synagogue there was a man possessed by the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice, (nasb) ======= Luke 4:34 ============ Luk 4:34 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.(KJV) Luke 4:34 Saying, Oh, what haue we to doe with thee, thou Iesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy vs? I know who thou art, euen the holy one of God.(Geneva) Luc 4:34 Ah! qu'y a-t-il entre nous et toi, Jésus de Nazareth? Tu es venu pour nous perdre. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.(KJV) Luke 4:35 And Iesus rebuked him, saying, Holde thy peace, and come out of him. Then the deuill throwing him in the middes of them, came out of him, and hurt him nothing at all.(Geneva) Luc 4:35 Jésus le menaça, disant: Tais-toi, et sors de cet homme. Et le démon le jeta au milieu de l'assemblée, et sortit de lui, sans lui faire aucun mal.(FR) וַיִּגְעַר־בּוֹ יֵשׁוּעַ לֵאמֹר דּוֹם וְצֵא מִמֶּנּוּ וַיַּפִּילֵהוּ הָרוּחַ הָרָע בְּתוֹךְ הַקָּהָל וַיֵּצֵא מִמֶּנּוּ וְרָעָה לֹא עָשָׂה לוֹ׃ לה Luke Luk 4:35 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be quiet and come out of him!" And when the demon had thrown him down in the midst of the people, he came out of him without doing him any harm. (nasb) ======= Luke 4:36 ============ Luk 4:36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.(KJV) Luke 4:36 So feare came on them all, and they spake among themselues, saying, What thing is this: for with authoritie and power he commaundeth the foule spirits, and they come out?(Geneva) Luc 4:36 Tous furent saisis de stupeur, et ils se disaient les uns aux autres: Quelle est cette parole? il commande avec autorité et puissance aux esprits impurs, et ils sortent!(FR) וּפַלָּצוּת אָחֲזָה כֻלָּם וַיֹּאמְרוּ אִישׁ אֶל־רֵעֵהוּ מָה הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה כִּי־בְשִׁלְטוֹן וּבִגְבוּרָה הוּא מְצַוֶּה אֶת־רוּחוֹת הַטֻּמְאָה וְהֵן יֹצְאוֹת מִבַּעְלֵיהֶן׃ לו Luke Luk 4:36 And amazement came upon them all, and they began talking with one another saying, "What is this message? For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits and they come out."(nasb) ======= Luke 4:37 ============ Luk 4:37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.(KJV) Luke 4:37 And ye fame of him spred abroad throughout all the places of the countrey round about.(Geneva) Luc 4:37 Et sa renommée se répandit dans tous les lieux d'alentour.(FR) וַיֵּצֵא שָׁמְעוֹ בְּכָל־הַכִּכָּר לְכָל־קְצוֹתָיו׃ לז Luke Luk 4:37 And the report about Him was spreading into every locality in the surrounding district. (nasb) ======= Luke 4:38 ============ Luk 4:38 And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.(KJV) Luke 4:38 And he rose vp, and came out of the Synagogue, and entred into Simons house; Simons wiues mother was taken with a great feuer, and they required him for her.(Geneva) Luc 4:38 En sortant de la synagogue, il se rendit à la maison de Simon. La belle-mère de Simon avait une violente fièvre, et ils le prièrent en sa faveur.(FR) וַיָּקָם וַיֵּצֵא מִבֵּית־הַכְּנֵסֶת וַיָּבֹא בֵּיתָה שִׁמְעוֹן וְחֹתֶנֶת שִׁמְעוֹן שֹׁכֶבֶת חוֹלַת קַדַּחַת אֲנוּשָׁה וַיִּפְגְּעוּ־בוֹ בַּעֲדָהּ׃ לח Luke Luk 4:38 Then He got up and left the synagogue, and entered Simon's home. Now Simon's mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Him to help her. (nasb) ======= Luke 4:39 ============ Luk 4:39 And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.(KJV) Luke 4:39 Then he stoode ouer her, and rebuked the feuer, and it left her, and immediatly she arose, and ministred vnto them.(Geneva) Luc 4:39 S'étant penché sur elle, il menaça la fièvre, et la fièvre la quitta. A l'instant elle se leva, et les servit.(FR) וַיִּתְיַצֵּב עָלֶיהָ וַיִּגְעַר בַּקַּדַּחַת וַתִּרֶף מִמֶּנָּה וּכְרֶגַע קָמָה וַתְּשָׁרֵת אֹתָם׃ לט Luke Luk 4:39 And standing over her, He rebuked the fever, and it left her; and she immediately got up and waited on them. (nasb) ======= Luke 4:40 ============ Luk 4:40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.(KJV) Luke 4:40 Now at the sunne setting, all they that had sicke folkes of diuers diseases, brought them vnto him, and he layd his hands on euery one of them, and healed them.(Geneva) Luc 4:40 Après le coucher du soleil, tous ceux qui avaient des malades atteints de diverses maladies les lui amenèrent. Il imposa les mains à chacun d'eux, et il les guérit.(FR) וּכְבֹא הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ הֵבִיאוּ אֵלָיו כָּל־אֵלֶּה אֲשֶׁר אַנְשֵׁי מַכְאֹבוֹת לָהֶם וִידוּעֵי חֳלָיִים שׁוֹנִים וַיָּשֶׂם אֶת־יָדָיו עַל־כָּל־אֶחָד מֵהֶם וַיִּרְפָּאֵם׃ מ Luke Luk 4:40 While the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and laying His hands on each one of them, He was healing them. (nasb) ======= Luke 4:41 ============ Luk 4:41 And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.(KJV) Luke 4:41 And deuils also came out of many, crying, and saying, Thou art that Christ that Sonne of God: but he rebuked them, and suffered them not to say that they knewe him to be that Christ.(Geneva) Luc 4:41 Des démons aussi sortirent de beaucoup de personnes, en criant et en disant: Tu es le Fils de Dieu. Mais il les menaçait et ne leur permettait pas de parler, parce qu'ils savaient qu'il était le Christ.(FR) וְגַם־רוּחוֹת רָעִים יָצְאוּ מֵרַבִּים קֹרְאִים וְאֹמְרִים אַתָּה הוּא הַמָּשִׁיחַ בֶּן־הָאֱלֹהִים אַךְ הוּא גָעַר בָּם וְלֹא נְתָנָם לְדַבֵּר כִּי יָדְעוּ אֲשֶׁר הוּא הַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ מא Luke Luk 4:41 Demons also were coming out of many, shouting, "You are the Son of God!" But rebuking them, He would not allow them to speak, because they knew Him to be the Christ. (nasb) ======= Luke 4:42 ============ Luk 4:42 And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them.(KJV) Luke 4:42 And when it was day, he departed, and went foorth into a desart place, and the people sought him, and came to him, and kept him that he should not depart from them.(Geneva) Luc 4:42 Dès que le jour parut, il sortit et alla dans un lieu désert. Une foule de gens se mirent à sa recherche, et arrivèrent jusqu'à lui; ils voulaient le retenir, afin qu'il ne les quittât point.(FR) וְכַעֲלוֹת הַשַּׁחַר יָצָא וַיֵּלֶךְ אֶל־מָקוֹם חָרֵב וַהֲמוֹן הָעָם בִּקְשֻׁהוּ וַיָּבֹאוּ אֵלָיו וַיַּחֲזִיקוּ־בוֹ לְבִלְתִּי יַעֲבֹר מֵהֶם׃ מב Luke Luk 4:42 When day came, Jesus left and went to a secluded place; and the crowds were searching for Him, and came to Him and tried to keep Him from going away from them.
