Psalm 64


Psalm 64:1 Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; Preserve my life from dread of the enemy.
Psalm 64:2 Hide me from the secret counsel of evildoers, From the tumult of those who do iniquity,
Psalm 64:3 Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword. They aimed bitter speech as their arrow,
Psalm 64:4 To shoot from concealment at the blameless; Suddenly they shoot at him, and do not fear.
Psalm 64:5 They hold fast to themselves an evil purpose; They talk of laying snares secretly; They say, "Who can see them?"
Psalm 64:6 They devise injustices, saying, "We are ready with a well-conceived plot"; For the inward thought and the heart of a man are deep.
Psalm 64:7 But God will shoot at them with an arrow; Suddenly they will be wounded.
Psalm 64:8 So they will make him stumble; Their own tongue is against them; All who see them will shake the head.
Psalm 64:9 Then all men will fear, And they will declare the work of God, And will consider what He has done.
Psalm 64:10 The righteous man will be glad in the Lord and will take refuge in Him; And all the upright in heart will glory.

Psalm 64:2 Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity: Psalm 64:2 Hide me from the secret counsel of evildoers, From the tumult of those who do iniquity, Psalm 64:2 εἰσάκουσον ὁ θεός τῆς φωνῆς μου ἐν τῷ δέεσθαί με ἀπὸ φόβου ἐχθροῦ ἐξελοῦ τὴν ψυχήν μου
Psalm 64:3 Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words: Psalm 64:3 Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword. They aimed bitter speech as their arrow, Psalm 64:3 ἐσκέπασάς με ἀπὸ συστροφῆς πονηρευομένων ἀπὸ πλήθους ἐργαζομένων τὴν ἀνομίαν
Psalm 64:4 That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not. Psalm 64:4 To shoot from concealment at the blameless; Suddenly they shoot at him, and do not fear. Psalm 64:4 οἵτινες ἠκόνησαν ὡς ῥομφαίαν τὰς γλώσσας αὐτῶν ἐνέτειναν τόξον αὐτῶν πρᾶγμα πικρὸν
Psalm 64:5 They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them? Psalm 64:5 They hold fast to themselves an evil purpose; They talk of laying snares secretly; They say, "Who can see them?" Psalm 64:5 τοῦ κατατοξεῦσαι ἐν ἀποκρύφοις ἄμωμον ἐξάπινα κατατοξεύσουσιν αὐτὸν καὶ οὐ φοβηθήσονται
Psalm 64:6 They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep. Psalm 64:6 They devise injustices, saying, "We are ready with a well-conceived plot"; For the inward thought and the heart of a man are deep. Psalm 64:6 ἐκραταίωσαν ἑαυτοῖς λόγον πονηρόν διηγήσαντο τοῦ κρύψαι παγίδας εἶπαν τίς ὄψεται αὐτούς

Psalm 64:8 So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away. Psalm 64:8 So they will make him stumble; Their own tongue is against them; All who see them will shake the head. Psalm 64:8 καὶ ὑψωθήσεται ὁ θεός βέλος νηπίων ἐγενήθησαν αἱ πληγαὶ αὐτῶν
Psalm 64:9 And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing. Psalm 64:9 Then all men will fear, And they will declare the work of God, And will consider what He has done. Psalm 64:9 καὶ ἐξησθένησαν ἐπ᾽ αὐτοὺς αἱ γλῶσσαι αὐτῶν ἐταράχθησαν πάντες οἱ θεωροῦντες αὐτούς
Psalm 64:10 The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory. Psalm 64:10 The righteous man will be glad in the Lord and will take refuge in Him; And all the upright in heart will glory.
