The grain of the Nile, the harvest of the River was her revenue; And she was the market of nations. (nasb) ======= Isaiah 23:12 ============ Isa 23:12 And he said, Thou shalt no more rejoice, O thou oppressed virgin, daughter of Zidon: arise, pass over to Chittim; there also shalt thou have no rest.(KJV) Isaiah 23:12 And he saide, Thou shalt no more reioyce when thou art oppressed: O virgin daughter of Zidon: rise vp, goe ouer vnto Chittim: yet there thou shalt haue no rest.(Geneva) Ésaïe 23:12 Il a dit: Tu ne te livreras plus à la joie, Vierge déshonorée, fille de Sidon! Lève-toi, passe au pays de Kittim! Arise, pass over to Cyprus; even there you will find no rest."(nasb) ======= Isaiah 23:13 ============ Isa 23:13 Behold the land of the Chaldeans; this people was not, till the Assyrian founded it for them that dwell in the wilderness: they set up the towers thereof, they raised up the palaces thereof; and he brought it to ruin.(KJV) Isaiah 23:13 Behold the lande of the Caldeans: this was no people: Asshur founded it by the inhabitantes of the wildernesse: they set vp the towers thereof: they raised the palaces thereof and hee brought it to ruine.(Geneva) Ésaïe 23:13 Vois les Chaldéens, qui n'étaient pas un peuple, Ces habitants du désert, pour qui l'Assyrien a fondé un pays; Ils élèvent des tours, ils renversent les palais de Tyr, Ils les mettent en ruines.(FR) 13 ׃23 הֵ֣ן ׀ אֶ֣רֶץ כַּשְׂדִּ֗ים זֶ֤ה הָעָם֙ לֹ֣א הָיָ֔ה אַשּׁ֖וּר יְסָדָ֣הּ לְצִיִּ֑ים הֵקִ֣ימוּ *בחיניו **בַחוּנָ֗יו עֹרְרוּ֙ אַרְמְנוֹתֶ֔יהָ שָׂמָ֖הּ לְמַפֵּלָֽה׃ Isaiah Isa 23:13 Behold, the land of the Chaldeans--this is the people which was not; Assyria appointed it for desert creatures--they erected their siege towers, they stripped its palaces, they made it a ruin. (nasb) ======= Isaiah 23:18 ============ Isa 23:18 And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to the LORD: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before the LORD, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.(kjv) Isaiah 23:18 Yet her occupying and her wages shall bee holy vnto the Lorde: it shall not be laied vp nor kept in store, but her marchandise shalbe for them that dwell before the Lorde, to eate sufficiently, and to haue durable clothing.(Geneva) Ésaïe 23:18 Mais son gain et son salaire impur seront consacrés à l'Eternel, Ils ne seront ni entassés ni conservés; Car son gain fournira pour ceux qui habitent devant l'Eternel Une nourriture abondante et des vêtements magnifiques.(FR) 18 ׃23 וְהָיָ֨ה סַחְרָ֜הּ וְאֶתְנַנָּ֗הּ קֹ֚דֶשׁ לַֽיהוָ֔ה לֹ֥א יֵֽאָצֵ֖ר וְלֹ֣א יֵֽחָסֵ֑ן כִּ֣י לַיֹּשְׁבִ֞ים לִפְנֵ֤י יְהוָה֙ יִֽהְיֶ֣ה סַחְרָ֔הּ לֶאֱכֹ֥ל לְשָׂבְעָ֖ה וְלִמְכַסֶּ֥ה עָתִֽיק׃ פ Isaiah Isa 23:18 Her gain and her harlot's wages will be set apart to the Lord; it will not be stored up or hoarded, but her gain will become sufficient food and choice attire for those who dwell in the presence of the Lord.
