Et Paul dit:(FR) כְּשָׁמְעָם כִּי בְעִבְרִית יְדַבֵּר אֲלֵיהֶם וַיּוֹסִיפוּ עוֹד לְהַחֲרִישׁ וְהוּא אָמָר׃ ב Acts Act 22:2 And when they heard that he was addressing them in the Hebrew dialect, they became even more quiet; and he said, (nasb) ======= Acts 22:3 ============ Act 22:3 I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day.(KJV) Acts 22:3 I am verely a man, which am a Iew, borne in Tarsus in Cilicia, but brought vp in this citie at the feete of Gamaliel, & instructed according to the perfect maner of the Lawe of the Fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day.(Geneva) Actes 22:3 je suis Juif, né à Tarse en Cilicie; mais j'ai été élevé dans cette ville-ci, et instruit aux pieds de Gamaliel dans la connaissance exacte de la loi de nos pères, étant plein de zèle pour Dieu, comme vous l'êtes tous aujourd'hui.(FR) אִישׁ־יְהוּדִי אֲנֹכִי בְּעִיר טַרְסוֹס בְּקִילִיקְיָא יֻלַּדְתִּי פֹה בָּעִיר הַזֹּאת גֻּדַּלְתִּי לְרַגְלֵי גַמְלִיאֵל וַיְמַלְאֵנִי לִמּוּדֵי תוֹרַת אֲבוֹתֵינוּ לְכָל־חֻקֶּיהָ גַּם־הָיִיתִי מְקַנֵּא לֵאלֹהִים כַּאֲשֶׁר הִנְּכֶם אַתֶּם הַיּוֹם כֻּלְּכֶם׃ ג Acts Act 22:3 "I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city, educated under Gamaliel, strictly according to the law of our fathers, being zealous for God just as you all are today. J'ai même reçu d'eux des lettres pour les frères de Damas, où je me rendis afin d'amener liés à Jérusalem ceux qui se trouvaient là et de les faire punir.(FR) כַּאֲשֶׁר כֹּה־יְעִידוּן־לִי גַּם־הַכֹּהֵן הַגָּדוֹל וְכָל־בֵּית הַזְּקֵנִים אֲשֶׁר אִמְּצוּ־לִי בְּאִגְּרוֹתֵיהֶם אֶל־הָאַחִים לֶלֶכֶת לְדַמֶּשֶׂק לַהֲבִיאָם גַּם־מִשָּׁם אֲסוּרִים לִירוּשָׁלַיִם לְמַעַן יֵעָנֵשׁוּ׃ ה Acts Act 22:5 as also the high priest and all the Council of the elders can testify. From them I also received letters to the brethren, and started off for Damascus in order to bring even those who were there to Jerusalem as prisoners to be punished. And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do.(KJV) Acts 22:10 Then I sayd, What shall I doe, Lord? (nasb) ======= Acts 22:25 ============ Act 22:25 And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said unto the centurion that stood by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman, and uncondemned?(KJV) Acts 22:25 And as they bound him with thongs, Paul sayd vnto the Centurion that stood by, Is it lawfull for you to scourge one that is a Romane, and not condemned?(Geneva) Actes 22:25 Lorsqu'on l'eut exposé au fouet, Paul dit au centenier qui était présent: Vous est-il permis de battre de verges un citoyen romain, qui n'est pas même condamné?(FR) וַיְהִי בְּהֵאָסְרוֹ לְהֵעָנוֹתוֹ וַיֹּאמֶר פּוֹלוֹס אֶל־שַׂר־הַמֵּאָה הַנִּצָּב עָלָיו הַאַף אֻמְנָם יֶשׁ־לָכֶם הָרִשְׁיוֹן לְעַנּוֹת אֶזְרַח רוֹמִי וּמַה־גַּם בְּלֹא־דִין וּמִשְׁפָּט׃ כה Acts Act 22:25 But when they stretched him out with thongs, Paul said to the centurion who was standing by, "Is it lawful for you to scourge a man who is a Roman and uncondemned?"(nasb) ======= Acts 22:26 ============ Act 22:26 When the centurion heard that, he went and told the chief captain, saying, Take heed what thou doest: for this man is a Roman.(KJV) Acts 22:26 Nowe when the Centurion heard it, hee went, and tolde the chiefe captaine, saying, Take heede what thou doest: for this man is a Romane.(Geneva) Actes 22:26 A ces mots, le centenier alla vers le tribun pour l'avertir, disant: Que vas-tu faire? For this man is a Roman."(nasb) ======= Acts 22:27 ============ Act 22:27 Then the chief captain came, and said unto him, Tell me, art thou a Roman? He said, Yea.(KJV) Acts 22:27 Then the chiefe captaine came, and sayd to him, Tel me, art thou a Romane? Oui, répondit-il.(FR) וַיָּבֹא שַׂר־הָאֶלֶף וַיֹּאמַר אֵלָיו אֱמָר־לִי הַאֻמְנָם כִּי אֶזְרַח רוֹמִי אָתָּה וַיֹּאמַר כִּדְבָרֶךָ׃ כז Acts Act 22:27 The commander came and said to him, "Tell me, are you a Roman?" And he said, "Yes."(nasb) ======= Acts 22:28 ============ Act 22:28 And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free born.(KJV) Acts 22:28 And the chiefe captaine answered, With a great summe obtained I this freedome. Then Paul sayd, But I was so borne.(Geneva) Actes 22:28 Le tribun reprit: C'est avec beaucoup d'argent que j'ai acquis ce droit de citoyen. Et moi, dit Paul, je l'ai par ma naissance.(FR) וַיַּעַן שַׂר־הָאֶלֶף אָנִי קָנִיתִי לִי זְכוּת אֶזְרָח כָּזֹאת בְּכֶסֶף מָלֵא וַאֲנִי הֵשִׁיב פּוֹלוֹס אֲנִי גַּם־יֻלַּדְתִּי בָהּ׃ כח Acts Act 22:28 The commander answered, "I acquired this citizenship with a large sum of money." And Paul said, "But I was actually born a citizen."(nasb) ======= Acts 22:29 ============ Act 22:29 Then straightway they departed from him which should have examined him: and the chief captain also was afraid, after he knew that he was a Roman, and because he had bound him.(KJV) Acts 22:29 Then straightway they departed from him, which should haue examined him: and the chiefe captaine also was afrayd, after he knewe that hee was a Romane, and that he had bound him.(Geneva) Actes 22:29 Aussitôt ceux qui devaient lui donner la question se retirèrent, et le tribun, voyant que Paul était Romain, fut dans la crainte parce qu'il l'avait fait lier.(FR) וְעַד־מְהֵרָה הִרְפּוּ מִמֶּנוּ הַמְבַקְשִׁים לְעַנּוֹתוֹ וְשַׂר הָאֶלֶף פָּחַד בְּשָׁמְעוֹ כִּי זֶה אֲשֶׁר אֲסָרוֹ אֶזְרַח רוֹמִי הוּא׃ כט Acts Act 22:29 Therefore those who were about to examine him immediately let go of him; and the commander also was afraid when he found out that he was a Roman, and because he had put him in chains. (nasb) ======= Acts 22:30 ============ Act 22:30 On the morrow, because he would have known the certainty wherefore he was accused of the Jews, he loosed him from his bands, and commanded the chief priests and all their council to appear, and brought Paul down, and set him before them.(kjv) Acts 22:30 On the next day, because hee would haue knowen the certaintie wherefore he was accused of the Iewes, he loosed him from his bonds, and commaunded the hie Priests and all their Councill to come together: and he brought Paul, and set him before them.(Geneva) Actes 22:30 Le lendemain, voulant savoir avec certitude de quoi les Juifs l'accusaient, le tribun lui fit ôter ses liens, et donna l'ordre aux principaux sacrificateurs et à tout le sanhédrin de se réunir; puis, faisant descendre Paul, il le plaça au milieu d'eux.(FR) בַּיּוֹם הָאַחֵר נִכְסַף לְבָרֶר־לוֹ אֶת־הַדָּבָר לַאֲמִתּוֹ עַל־מָה יַרְשִׁיעוּ אֹתוֹ הַיְּהוּדִים וַיַּתִּירֵהוּ וַיְצַו לְהִתְאַסֵּף רָאשֵׁי הַכֹּהֲנִים וְכָל־הַסַּנְהֶדְרִין וְהוּא הוֹרִיד אֶת־פּוֹלוֹס וַיַּעֲמִדֵהוּ לִפְנֵיהֶם׃ ל Acts Act 22:30 But on the next day, wishing to know for certain why he had been accused by the Jews, he released him and ordered the chief priests and all the Council to assemble, and brought Paul down and set him before them.
