(nasb) ======= Acts 23:17 ============ Act 23:17 Then Paul called one of the centurions unto him, and said, Bring this young man unto the chief captain: for he hath a certain thing to tell him.(KJV) Acts 23:17 And Paul called one of the Centurions vnto him, and said, Take this yong man hence vnto the chiefe captaine: for he hath a certaine thing to shewe him.(Geneva) Actes 23:17 Paul appela l'un des centeniers, et dit: Mène ce jeune homme vers le tribun, car il a quelque chose à lui rapporter.(FR) וַיִּקְרָא פוֹלוֹס אֶל־אֶחָד מִשָּׂרֵי הַמֵּאוֹת וַיֹּאמֶר לוֹ קְחָה אֶת־הַנַּעַר הַזֶּה וְהָבֵא אֹתוֹ אֶל־שַׂר־הָאֶלֶף כִּי־דָבָר לוֹ אֵלָיו׃ יז Acts Act 23:17 Paul called one of the centurions to him and said, "Lead this young man to the commander, for he has something to report to him."(nasb) ======= Acts 23:18 ============ Act 23:18 So he took him, and brought him to the chief captain, and said, Paul the prisoner called me unto him, and prayed me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath something to say unto thee.(KJV) Acts 23:18 So hee tooke him, and brought him to the chiefe captaine, and saide, Paul the prisoner called mee vnto him, and prayed mee to bring this yong man vnto thee, which hath some thing to say vnto thee.(Geneva) Actes 23:18 Le centenier prit le jeune homme avec lui, le conduisit vers le tribun, et dit: Le prisonnier Paul m'a appelé, et il m'a prié de t'amener ce jeune homme, qui a quelque chose à te dire.(FR) וַיִּקָּחֵהוּ וַיְבִיאֵהוּ אֶל־שַׂר־הָאֶלֶף וַיֹּאמַר פּוֹלוֹס הָאַסִּיר קְרָאַנִי אֵלָיו וַיְבַקְשֵׁנִי לְהָבִיא אֶת־הַנַּעַר הַזֶּה לְפָנֶיךָ בַּאֲשֶׁר דָּבָר לוֹ לְהַגִּיד לָךְ׃ יח Acts Act 23:18 So he took him and led him to the commander and said, "Paul the prisoner called me to him and asked me to lead this young man to you since he has something to tell you."(nasb) ======= Acts 23:19 ============ Act 23:19 Then the chief captain took him by the hand, and went with him aside privately, and asked him, What is that thou hast to tell me?(KJV) Acts 23:19 Then the chiefe captaine tooke him by the hande, and went apart with him alone, and asked him, What hast thou to shewe me?(Geneva) Actes 23:19 Le tribun, prenant le jeune homme par la main, et se retirant à l'écart, lui demanda: Qu'as-tu à m'annoncer?(FR) וַיֶּחֱזַק שַׂר הָאֶלֶף בְּיָדוֹ וַיַּטֵּהוּ הַצִּדָּה וַיִּשְׁאָלֵהוּ מַה־דָּבָר לָאַט עִמְּךָ לְגַלּוֹתוֹ לִי׃ יט Acts Act 23:19 The commander took him by the hand and stepping aside, began to inquire of him privately, "What is it that you have to report to me?"(nasb) ======= Acts 23:20 ============ Act 23:20 And he said, The Jews have agreed to desire thee that thou wouldest bring down Paul to morrow into the council, as though they would enquire somewhat of him more perfectly.(KJV) Acts 23:20 And he saide, The Iewes haue conspired to desire thee, that thou wouldest bring foorth Paul to morow into the Council, as though they would inquire somewhat of him more perfectly:(Geneva) Actes 23:20 Il répondit: Les Juifs sont convenus de te prier d'amener Paul demain devant le sanhédrin, comme si tu devais t'enquérir de lui plus exactement.(FR) וַיֹּאמַר כֹּה־חִבְּלוּ הַיְּהוּדִים עֵצָה בַסָּתֶר לְבַקֵּשׁ מֵאִתְּךָ לְהוֹרִיד אֶת־פּוֹלוֹס מָחָר אֶל־הַסַּנְהֶדְרִין כְּמוֹ אִם־חָפֵץ אַתָּה לַחֲקֹר הֵיטֵב אֶת־מִשְׁפָּטוֹ וְדִינוֹ׃ כ Acts Act 23:20 And he said, "The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul down tomorrow to the Council, as though they were going to inquire somewhat more thoroughly about him. (nasb) ======= Acts 23:21 ============ Act 23:21 But do not thou yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him: and now are they ready, looking for a promise from thee.(KJV) Acts 23:21 But let them not perswade thee: for there lie in waite for him of them, more then fourtie men, which haue bound themselues with a curse, that they will neither eate nor drinke, till they haue killed him: and nowe are they readie, and waite for thy promes.(Geneva) Actes 23:21 Ne les écoute pas, car plus de quarante d'entre eux lui dressent un guet-apens, et se sont engagés, avec des imprécations contre eux-mêmes, à ne rien manger ni boire jusqu'à ce qu'ils l'aient tué; maintenant ils sont prêts, et n'attendent que ton consentement.(FR) וְעַתָּה אַתָּה אַל־תִּשְׁמַע לָהֶם כִּי יוֹתֵר מֵאַרְבָּעִים אֲנָשִׁים יֶאֶרְבוּ לוֹ וְהֵם נִשְׁבְּעוּ בִשְׁבוּעַת אָלָה לְבִלְתִּי אָכֹל וְשָׁתוֹ עַד אִם־הֲמִיתָם אֹתוֹ וְעַתָּה הֵם מוּכָנִים וּמְיַחֲלִים לְמוֹ־פִיךָ׃ כא Acts Act 23:21 "So do not listen to them, for more than forty of them are lying in wait for him who have bound themselves under a curse not to eat or drink until they slay him; and now they are ready and waiting for the promise from you."(nasb) ======= Acts 23:22 ============ Act 23:22 So the chief captain then let the young man depart, and charged him, See thou tell no man that thou hast shewed these things to me.(KJV) Acts 23:22 The chiefe captaine then let the yong man depart, after hee had charged him to vtter it to no man, that he had shewed him these things.(Geneva) Actes 23:22 Le tribun renvoya le jeune homme, après lui avoir recommandé de ne parler à personne de ce rapport qu'il lui avait fait.(FR) וְשַׂר־הָאֶלֶף שִׁלַּח אֶת־הַנַּעַר וַיְצַוֵּהוּ מֵהַגִּיד לְאִישׁ אֶת־אֲשֶׁר הוֹדַע אֹתוֹ׃ כב Acts Act 23:22 So the commander let the young man go, instructing him, "Tell no one that you have notified me of these things." (nasb) ======= Acts 23:27 ============ Act 23:27 This man was taken of the Jews, and should have been killed of them: then came I with an army, and rescued him, having understood that he was a Roman.(KJV) Acts 23:27 As this man was taken of the Iewes, and shoulde haue bene killed of them, I came vpon them with the garison, and rescued him, perceiuing that he was a Romane.(Geneva) Actes 23:27 Cet homme, dont les Juifs s'étaient saisis, allait être tué par eux, lorsque je survins avec des soldats et le leur enlevai, ayant appris qu'il était Romain.(FR) אֶת־הָאִישׁ הַזֶּה אֲשֶׁר הַיְּהוּדִים תְּפָשׂוּהוּ וַיֹּאמְרוּ לַהֲמִיתוֹ אֹתוֹ הִצַּלְתִּי בְּמַהֲרִי עִם־אַנְשֵׁי הַצָּבָא יַעַן שָׁמַעְתִּי כִּי־אֶזְרַח רוֹמִי הוּא׃ כז Acts Act 23:27 "When this man was arrested by the Jews and was about to be slain by them, I came up to them with the troops and rescued him, having learned that he was a Roman. Ayant appris qu'il était de la Cilicie:(FR) וַיְהִי בְּקָרְאוֹ וַיִּשְׁאַל מֵאֵי־זוֹ מְדִינָה הוּא וַיִּשְׁמַע כִּי־מִקִּילִיקְיָא הוּא׃ לד Acts Act 23:34 When he had read it, he asked from what province he was, and when he learned that he was from Cilicia, (nasb) ======= Acts 23:35 ============ Act 23:35 I will hear thee, said he, when thine accusers are also come. And he commanded him to be kept in Herod's judgment hall.(kjv) Acts 23:35 I will heare thee, said he, when thine accusers also are come, and commaunded him to bee kept in Herods iudgement hall.(Geneva) Actes 23:35 Je t'entendrai, dit-il, quand tes accusateurs seront venus. Et il ordonna qu'on le gardât dans le prétoire d'Hérode.(FR) וַיֹּאמַר אָנֹכִי אֶבְחָנְךָ אַחֲרֵי בֹא הֵנָּה גַּם־שׂטְנֶיךָ וַיְצַו לְשָׁמְרוֹ בְּבֵית הַמִּשְׁפָּט אֲשֶׁר לְהוֹרְדוֹס׃ לה Acts Act 23:35 he said, "I will give you a hearing after your accusers arrive also," giving orders for him to be kept in Herod's Praetorium. (nasb) ======= Acts 24:1 ============ Act 24:1 And after five days Ananias the high priest descended with the elders, and with a certain orator named Tertullus, who informed the governor against Paul.(KJV) Acts 24:1 Now after fiue dayes, Ananias the hie Priest came downe with the Elders, and with Tertullus a certaine oratour, which appeared before the Gouernour against Paul.(Geneva) Actes 24:1 Cinq jours après, arriva le souverain sacrificateur Ananias, avec des anciens et un orateur nommé Tertulle.
